Restaurant
Nestled along the picturesque harbourside of Kokkari Village, Piccolo Porto Italian Restaurant is a delightful culinary gem that promises an authentic Italian dining experience. Every dish here is crafted with love and care, from their homemade pasta to the delectable wood-fired pizzas baked in an olive wood oven. The menu features a tempting array of options, including meat-stuffed ravioli and succulent veal fillets, with some Greek influences adding a unique twist.
We had such a wonderful meal here! A beautiful table by the water, fresh bread to start, and then handmade pasta made with care — you can truly taste the love in every bite. The wine list is surprisingly good, with plenty of choices from different countries, which is not always easy to find on Samos. The ravioli was excellent, and so was the seafood linguine. The staff are incredibly kind, humble, and thoughtful. We’ll definitely be coming back!

It is not recommended for families with children! The waitress working there was very rude and intolerant towards children. Due to this attitude, we had to finish our meals quickly and leave the place, and unfortunately the atmosphere by the sea was spoiled. In short, it is not a family-friendly restaurant.

I had the pleasure of visiting this Italian restaurant recently, and it truly exceeded my expectations in every way. From the warm welcome at the entrance to the very last bite of food, everything about the experience was outstanding. What makes this place shine is not only the quality of the dishes but also the passion and talent of the chef, who clearly puts heart and soul into every plate that comes out of the kitchen. The menu offers a wide variety of Italian classics, from freshly baked pizzas to pasta dishes, antipasti, salads, and delicious desserts. The pizzas are simply some of the best I’ve ever had. The crust is thin and perfectly crisp, with just the right balance between chewy and crunchy, and the toppings are fresh and full of flavor. Each bite tastes authentic, like something you would find in a traditional Italian trattoria. The Margherita pizza, simple yet elegant, really shows how good ingredients and skilled preparation can turn a classic into a masterpiece. Beyond the pizzas, the pasta dishes are also incredible. I tried a creamy carbonara, and it was rich, satisfying, and cooked perfectly al dente. The sauces taste homemade, full of depth, and crafted with attention to detail. You can tell nothing is rushed in the kitchen – everything is carefully prepared with authenticity in mind. The chef is clearly experienced and passionate about Italian cuisine, and that shines through in every dish. What really impressed me was how present the chef is in the restaurant. You can feel his influence not only in the food but also in the overall atmosphere. He sometimes comes out to greet guests, and you can see the pride he takes in sharing his culinary creations. That personal touch makes the dining experience even more special, turning it from just a meal into a memorable occasion. The restaurant itself has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a casual pizza with friends or sit down for a more formal dinner with family. The staff are attentive and friendly, always ready with recommendations and happy to explain the dishes. Service is quick but never rushed, and they make you feel like a valued guest. Another highlight is the variety – there’s truly something for everyone here. Whether you love a simple pizza, a hearty pasta, or a flavorful seafood dish, you’ll find it on the menu. The desserts are also worth saving room for, especially the tiramisu, which is light, creamy, and the perfect ending to an Italian meal. Overall, this restaurant is an absolute gem for anyone who loves Italian food. The combination of authentic flavors, fresh ingredients, a welcoming atmosphere, and above all, a talented chef who makes the difference, makes it stand out. It’s more than just a restaurant – it’s a place where passion for Italian cuisine comes alive on every plate. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a true Italian dining experience.

Overpriced, staff was cold and unfriendly. We waited an extremely long time for our food (30+ minutes), while other tables who arrived after us were served much earlier. The service felt disorganized and unfair, and there was no proper explanation or apology for the delay. The gnocchi were bland and overcooked, lacking any real flavor or texture. Overall, it was a frustrating experience, and I would not recommend this place if you value good service and quality food.

We had a gluten free pizza here. The staff was knowledgeable about our choices and made sure everything was safe for us. The pizza was fantastic. They also gave us gf treats before the pizza and after. Had a very pleasant experience and would definitely suggest the atmosphere & gf pizzas!

I don’t quite get the negative reviews. We had dinner there yesterday, ordered tagliatelle arrabiata and tagliatelle con pollo and was one of the best experiences we had with Italian food. Pasta was prepared right, cooked right, tasted awesome. The service was also very polite and enjoyed having us there. We d definitely come back.

A terrible place with 2 rude waiters. Stay away.!! It ıs clear from the score. We went as a group of 3. My mother wanted to eat pizza, we didn't want anything. The female waitress acted strange about our pizza order. We thought she was joking, but after taking the order, she and the equally sullen waitress started irritably bitching about our order. This level of rudeness is incredible. We didn't just leave because we ordered, but I wish we had. The pizza veryansın bad. They charged 2 EUR per person for a cover charge, even though only 1 person was eating. If you want to pay 17.5 EUR for a loaf of bread instead of pizza, you can go.

Me and my wife decided that we should eat at this restaurant because we thought it would be good because of its Italian name. When we arrived the waitress angrily told my son to not stand up and the only thing he was doing was feeding the fish with bread without leaving any crumbs on the floor or making any noise to other customers. The waitress also got angry because my son couldn't explain what he wanted since he didn't know English that well since we live in China. My wife ordered a pizza and I ordered 2 pastas so we could it eat them with my son. The 'fresh' pasta tasted like leftover food from a week ago and the pizza was so small and thin. We paid a total of 50€ + for 2 pastas a pizza and a 1L water which costed 3€ which is crazy. Most of the waitresses were angry and everyone didn't seem to care. This restaurant is so bad I wouldn't ever recommend it to anyone and this restaurant should close immediately in my opinion.

Restaurant
Nestled along the picturesque shores of Kokkari in northern Samos, Meltemi Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience that feels like a charming beach house. With its seafood-centric menu, guests can savor freshly caught fish selected from the counter or indulge in local specialties such as octopus salad and prawns sautéed in ouzo and garlic. The ambiance is perfect for enjoying stunning sunsets while sharing a Greek salad or sampling an array of appetizers.
I recently visited this restaurant, and overall, I would describe the experience as fairly average. It has a comfortable setting and a friendly atmosphere, but when it comes to the food, while some dishes are acceptable, others fell short of expectations. In particular, I would not recommend ordering the mussels, as they were the biggest disappointment of the evening. The menu itself offers a wide selection of choices, from pasta and pizza to seafood and meat dishes. On paper, it looks promising, and some of the meals delivered exactly what you would expect from a casual Italian restaurant. The pizzas were decent, with a thin crust and a nice variety of toppings, though nothing especially memorable. The pasta was cooked well, al dente as it should be, but the sauces lacked depth and richness. While edible and satisfying enough, the flavors did not stand out in a way that would make me eager to return. The biggest issue, however, came with the seafood. I ordered the mussels, expecting something fresh and flavorful, but unfortunately they were below average. They lacked the freshness you would hope for in a seafood dish, and the sauce did little to improve them. It’s rare that I would strongly suggest avoiding a dish, but in this case, I cannot recommend the mussels to anyone dining here. If you are a seafood lover, you will likely be disappointed. That being said, not everything was negative. The restaurant itself has a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff were polite, attentive, and quick to serve. Drinks were brought out without delay, and the service overall was smooth. The dining area is clean, comfortable, and pleasant for a relaxed meal. These positive aspects make the experience more enjoyable even if the food itself doesn’t always rise above average. For those who prefer to play it safe, I would suggest sticking to the more classic items on the menu. The pizzas and some of the pasta dishes are the better choices here, and they are reasonably priced for what you get. However, if you’re looking for something special or hoping for a standout meal, this restaurant may not deliver the wow factor. It’s a place you might choose for a simple dinner with friends or family, but not one I would select for a special occasion or a memorable dining experience. In summary, this restaurant has its strengths in atmosphere, service, and a few reliable menu items like pizza and pasta. However, the food overall remains average, and the seafood, particularly the mussels, is not worth trying. If you’re nearby and want a casual Italian meal, it’s an okay option, but it doesn’t stand out among other restaurants offering similar cuisine. With some improvements to flavor and freshness, it could become a stronger contender, but for now, I would approach it with moderate expectations.

The best time to avoid waiting too much is to start placing your orders around 7 or after 9. Delicious seafood is served in a bustling restaurant like calamary, zucchini, and octopus. You take pleasure in the scene and the atmosphere is wonderful. Despite long service waiting time, it offers you plenty of options in the menu with enormous view.

Very good option to spend the day by Kokkari beach. For their customers they offer sunbeds and umbrellas. We ate gyros pitas and salads and it was delicious. The prices are high, but as mentioned, they offer also beach equipment, shower… The wind was refreshing however, the sea is quite wavy and at certain point it got a bit too loud for us - because of loud guests.
Nataša K — Google review
We enjoyed fresh fish of excellent quality, and the service was attentive and friendly throughout our visit. The atmosphere was pleasant and inviting, creating a perfect setting for a relaxed meal. Although the prices are highly above the usual range, the overall quality and experience doesn‘t fully justify it. I would highly recommend making a reservation in advance even during the off-season, the restaurant tends to be quite busy, which speaks for its popularity and consistent quality.
Jonas — Google review
We had the octopus salad and meatballs. The octopus salad was really good. The place is right by the sea, so you can swim and have your meal at the same time. Overall, it’s a nice and decent spot — we’d recommend it!

We went Meltemi for try sea foods. Very good atmosphere on the seaside. We liked foods. The waiter told us not to feed the cats because the floor got dirty. :/
BT — Google review
The food wasn’t bad, staff is rude. After all, it’s an island and business that exists largely thanks to Turkish visitors. Waiter suggested that we shouldn’t place our orders one by one — it was like a joke.

Cocktail bar
One evening, I visited the Boa Vista Cocktail Club, a stylish Tiki bar overlooking Kokkari Bay. Despite my mother's dislike for the salted rim on her first Margarita, we stumbled upon Esperos, an unknown but captivating bar where lifelong friendships can be made. With its delightful ambiance and picturesque view of the port, this place serves classic cocktails that are expertly crafted to perfection. While their signature cocktails may not have been as impressive, they were still tolerable.
Πραγματικά εξαιρετικά! Absolutely amazing! Talented mixologists, friendly staff, fresh ingredients, great atmosphere and decor! I wish I could give more stars! Visit if you can to experience it for yourself!
Sotiria T — Google review
Boa Vista is in a stunning location overlooking the sea – the views alone are worth a visit. What makes it even better are the cocktails. They’re made by a real mixologist who knows how to do it right – perfectly balanced, great flavours, and presented with care. You can taste the difference straight away. A beautiful spot, friendly service, and cocktails that are among the best I’ve had in Greece.

Great place with a good vibe. Loved the cocktails and the glasses they were served in, the view is one of the best in Samos. Would totally recommend!
Amanda W — Google review
Place is really nice and has a good vibe, but the service is really bad unfortunately. Didn’t feel welcome at all. The waiters were too busy with each other and their phone, vaping at the bar and sitting with their backs to the customers. They had no interest in serving you another drink… So left really quick.
Martin W — Google review
The most ever unique spot to enjoy your drink. Amazing view of the ocean and the beach. Very professional and friendly staff. Fair prices , excellent drinks! The largest rum selection we've ever seen.
Vasilios G — Google review
The service here is really bad. We walked in at 7:15 they open at 6. Both the bartenders just stared at us didnt say nothing. It was over 15 minutes for our drinks bring the checks and then sit and vape in the corner for an hour. We wanted another one. But didnt order one, we didnt want to disturb his vape time

€70 for 2 shakers is simply a ripoff. Had some good times there but they won’t see mee again. Beware

One of the best cocktail bars you can find in samos. Unique cocktail choices and exotiic tastes. The bar is located in Kokkari at rooftop. The view, the breeze, the people and the vibes lead to a super unique experience. Must visit.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience in Samos, look no further than Zakore BBQ. Nestled in Kokkari, this restaurant boasts stunning harbor views while providing a cozy atmosphere free from the winds. Known for its mouthwatering meat dishes, Zakore BBQ serves up generous portions of expertly grilled lamb and beef steaks that are sure to satisfy even the heartiest appetites.
Been in Samos for 5 nights, i can easily say this was the best place to eat. The staff was very friendly and the food was very delicious.

You can enjoy amazing meats at this restaurant! They also serve pork, and we absolutely loved the jumbo prawns. The sausage was a bit spicy, but that really depends on your taste ☺️ The location isn’t directly by the sea — it’s slightly inland but still has a sea view, which actually becomes an advantage on windy days. At the end of the meal, they kindly offered us a small shot of Samos’ traditional sweet wine, which was a lovely touch.
Özgün U — Google review
Very nice restaurant in the center of Kokkari, tucked away in a little niche. Cozy seating, and from the front rows you even get a glimpse of the sea (with another bar in between). We didn’t have a reservation and had to wait about 20 minutes, but then a table was reserved for us. The food was very good quality and really tasty. Unfortunately, there are no vegetarian main dishes, but there’s a good selection of salads and the usual meze options. Service was friendly and fast, although the atmosphere among the staff and in the kitchen didn’t seem the best.
Hannah — Google review
The location is good, we went without a reservation around 7 and found table, but those who arrived at around 8 and after had to wait in line. Portions were large and delicious. Service time and prices are normal. We paid 39 euros for two person. Only the oldest waiter tried to sell us a more expensive wine but he did not insist.
Pelin — Google review
I heavily suggest to eat here at least once if you ever visit Samos. The restaurant is located right in front of the sea, you can enjoy delicious food with an amazing view. The restaurant itself opens at 17.30, so i suggest going there early (from around 17.30 to at least 19.00) to catch an empty seat, people literally wait in line to get a chance to eat there!!! I ordered the Argentine steak, medium-well and to be fair, it was one of the best steaks I've ever ate so far. The service was quick enough and the waiters made us feel welcome. The menu itself was pretty rich, anyone and everyone can enjoy the amazing food here.

Best BBQ in Kokkari👌 Every meal freshly prepared, which means you have to be sometimes a bit patient till you get it (max. 20Min), still we are on holidays and not in a rush😉😎 Nice and friendly service 😊

After our first review five years ago, we give an update 2024. Food is better than ever. New listings on the menu, good advise from Thannasis with your questions and choises, and service is as good as it was in the beginning. Anna is the best chief in any kitchen. The Carpaccio, you cannot get this quality anywhere in Holland. It has a WOW-factor. The Beef Tagliata, it is amazing. And the Fetta cheese sauce, they should forbid it.. you cannot eat it anywhere else anymore after tasting this. We are very thankfull for the hospitality of the very hard working team of Zakore. They always make Samos complete for us. ================ Great food, they know what they sell and they are proud of it. but maybe just as important for your holiday, very friendly people, always time for a nice word! And if you don't like to talk, the view is amazing!

Start your day off right at The Beer Tavern Kokkari, where you can indulge in a delightful traditional Greek breakfast that sets the tone for an adventurous day ahead. After fueling up, consider taking a short trip to nearby Pythagorion, where you can uncover historical treasures like the ancient Tunnel of Eupalinos and enjoy some time by the picturesque marina.
We had a truly wonderful experience! The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the hospitality made us feel right at home. Prices were very good. Service staff and the owner Artemis was very lovely and very kind. Brandy, he offered us was marvelous. Thank you for such a memorable evening. We would love to come back again again.

This was our second time in Kokkari, and we returned to Taverna Beer to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Just like last year, the food was absolutely delicious. The grilled meats were full of flavor, the salads were fresh, and the appetizers like stuffed grape leaves and fried calamari were unforgettable. The service was perfect, and the owner, Artemis, welcomed us with warmth and generosity. To top it all off, he gave us a special gift to mark the 100-year anniversary of the taverna—a beautiful and thoughtful gesture that meant so much to us. Thank you, Artemis, for making our celebration so memorable. We’ll definitely be back!

The dishes we had was quite delicious. The meats were cooked perfectly and the sauces were well balanced. The salad was truly exquisite. The place is a bit noisy since it’s close to the road, but the overall ambiance was not bad. Prices were okey, portions were quite satisfying.

This is one of the best restaurants in Kokkari. Serving good quality food. Nice and friendly service. Reasonable pricing. Make sure you make a reservation.

This was recommended to us by Galazio (Fannis), for my birthday dinner, we got lucky and were able to be seated without a reservation but next time we will make one. The owner made us feel very special even after just arriving and they recommended the cheese pie which I recommend to everyone. The food was delicious, staff was friendly and I wish them the best. Will definitely come back on my next visit.

Looks really cute and seems very popular. Nice and cold beer, nice red wine and the treat after food was nice. Food was nothing special and the meat was not that good had to leave about 1/3, the good part were ok but were excepting more. A dissappointment after reading all positive reviews. 2eur seems added on the bill, we cant figure out what that was?

Everything is wonderful, foods are delicious, atmosphere is fantastic and the prices are reasonable. If I go to Kokkari, I will eat every meal in this tavern, since this is the best one in the town.

A lovely old tavern placed in the center of kokkari. I had the stuffed calamari and it was delicious! There's some interesting historical pieces on the inside with plenty of nice outdoor seating as well. Highly recommend this place.
