The village's restaurants serve beautiful and simple Mediterranean cuisine, with a focus on Mezedes and grilled meats. The waterfront bars and restaurants provide the perfect setting for a delightful evening meal. With friendly staff and a great menu, Katelios Taverna offers an authentic dining experience that captures the essence of Greek hospitality.
Perfect place for lunch, overlooking the sea, we had greek salad and tsasiki with bread, washed down with an ice cold Mythos beer 🍺 😋

An amazing place to go & eat good Greek food, is right on the sea front with brilliant views of the sea & beach, the staff are really nice & the service is good, would recommend the chicken souvakli , Kefalonia meat pie which was beautiful, the prices were very reasonable & went here a few times as the food was that good
Hamish M — Google review
Tasty food and great location on the beach but service was really slow, an hour wait for food.
Becka G — Google review
Food choice and quality solid enough for the price. The best view of bay and mountains while eating on outside tables. Litre of house white good. Went here twice. We had fried giant prawns, 3 out of 5, ribeye steak 4 out of 5, swordfish 3 out of 5, lamb chops 3 out of 5. Also had a variety of appetisers which were okay.

Captain Jerry's is a delightful dining establishment with delectable fried red snapper and baked feta, which unexpectedly creates a pizza-like flavor when placed on bread. The cuisine boasts a contemporary yet coastal appeal, providing an enjoyable experience by the waterfront under the shade of eucalyptus trees. The beachside setting is complemented by friendly and enthusiastic staff who cater to guests' needs. The food is reasonably priced and delivers exceptional taste.
We arrived late in the evening and went here to enjoy some much needed food and it did not disappoint. We shared the sea bream house special which came with a Greek salad and 1/2 litre of house wine. We paid €24 for this and it was lovely, the fish was very fresh and so was the salad. The staff were friendly and accommodating, definitely recommend trying the fish here.

Delicious fried red snapper and baked feta (if you put some baked feta on the bread they serve it somehow magically taste like very yummy pizza) it was a discovery we made not the intention for that dish. All the food was tasty with a very modern yet seaside esthetic. Where else are you able to sit under a eucalyptus tree with your toes in the sad, feel from the waterfront and enjoy a good meal 🙌🏼

Incredible setting for sunset dinner! A full red snapper, salad and bottle of wine for €44 between 2, it’s a wonderful experience! Highly recommend!

Just had a lovely lunch on a storming windy Easter Good Friday. A large selection of fresh local fish on display to choose from. Great food, beautifully cooked and great service. Fried Zucchini and dips for starters followed by red mullet ( there were 4 but I ate one) and sword fish which was succulent and tasty . Certainly will return

Always eat here 4 or 5 times during our 3 week stay. Fish is the best and the staff are wonderful. Lovely soft music is usually playing and its relaxing watching the calm ambience of the seafront

Best choice in the neighborhood! I had my favorite meal of the trip here (cold platter in case anyone’s curious). The food was so fresh, the ambiance was beachy-luxurious, and each waiter was so kind:)
Leah — Google review
The waiters are pathetic. We orderd a Large Sea Food Plateau and they charged us for Mixed Filet Plateau wich is almost twice as much. This is robbery. They didn't asumed the mistake. they also charged us for a squid plate we didn't ordered but they put it on the bill - wich was written in greek. We had a bad experience here. We don't recomand this place.

Jerry's Elliniko Restaurant Review 30/06/2025 Atmosphere: Busy restaurant I thought the day before was shut. How ever looking at the menu outside the day after 2 people passing said we wouldn't be disappointed, and they were right. Brilliant place. We didn't book a table. Staff : Pleasant and efficient taking orders. Drinks arrived quickly. Food : Beef stifado - as described in a thick sauce, served with potato and green beans - very good Sole Ketallos - Never has my wife banged on for so long about how good the fish was,and to be fair I had a sample and can say the fish was perfectly cooked and tasted really good.think I picked the wrong thing 😆😆 Overall comment: The location is near Pacificae and easy to overlook walking into town. It was busy and everyone else food looked great. Definitely worth a visit and we're going again. This time with pictures Cost €50, 1 x Beef Stifado,Sole Katellos, 1 x 0.5L house wine, 1 X small beer & 1 Diet coke

A warm and friendly welcome every time we visit and this taverna brings us back time after time having first visited in 2016. We always love to sit in our happy place in the lovely garden area although there is plenty of seating inside. What brings us back is the lovely fresh food, warm and friendly service, peaceful surroundings and the relaxed atmosphere. The wine is lovely too and the chips are amazing ....if you have room then try Maiikes take on apple pie...simply delicious. We always enjoy having a chat with Jerry and the polite, young male waiter who is a credit to the taverna...he always takes the time to get to know you. So huge shout out to Jerry for his dedicated service to his guests. I am not sure how the previous reviewer found anything to complain about to be honest but some people just love to moan... There is good reason why we return year after year and that reason is that every time we truly enjoy our visits Thank you for your hospitality and we will see you next year. Liz and John.

Full marks for this Taverna. We sat in the Garden area where plants abound.Check out the rubber plant. Quality food with ample portions.Bonus for us the Blues/Soul music which made a change from the Greek music, which we like but this gave a pleasant change. Best Taverna in Town in my opinion.

We arrived and were seated quickly. Our order was taken and then we waited and waited! We had just about finished our drinks before the food arrived - it must have been almost 40 minutes. Food was good, but due to the lighting, it was very difficult to see what you were eating. No one asked if the food was ok or if we wanted another drink. It might have been that they have only been open since 12th May, and they seemed short staffed- 3 staff and around 40 covers.
Christine D — Google review
Food was delicious only to be tainted by the poor service. Shame really. Waiter kept leaving our empty glasses and bottles on the table despite clearly making an obvious positioning of “empties”. Was never offered a desert menu and upon asking for the bill, advising we were paying by card, to “come to the till in a few minutes”….whilst those paying by cash received a decorative box with the bill and some chocolates. Who said cash isn’t king? Would still recommend a visit for the food and setting alone….try not to be underwhelmed by the service.

This charming eatery, situated by the seaside and offering picturesque views of the cove extending to Mounda beach, has a lot to offer. Patrons can indulge in delectable three-course meals that are all highly enjoyable. When visiting Kateleios, this place is not to be missed. Located at Katelios Harbour, it provides excellent culinary experiences throughout one's stay in Kefalonia. The wait staff is attentive and courteous, adding to the overall pleasant dining experience.
Amazing restaurant!!!!! You have to go here, such a shame we only found it on our last night! The food is incredible, the service is top notch, the place is beautiful the atmosphere is serene and peaceful🤍. I had the grilled octopus which was of very high quality and the apple pie that had a unique approach. Nevertheless, everything else that we had looked and tasted amazing. Thank you for an amazing last night!🍴🐙

New owner and by far above the average you will find in the area. Now family owned restaurant by Yannis and his wife, both are locals with years of international experience. Expect traditional but refined food, great view and a warm top service. A place you definitely leave with a smile and where you know you’ll be back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(⭐️)

Excellent food and service in a modern atmosphere. We had the moussaka and the pork fillet in plum sauce which was excellent. Followed by apple crumble and a walnut pie with Kefalonian mandola and would recommend each of these dishes.

There is nothing not to like about this place. The location right on the beach and the amazing view of the cove all the way round to Mounda beach. We both had 3 course meals, all of which were delicious. Do not miss out when visiting Kateleios!

Lovely place lovely staff lovely wine lovely evening atmosphere. Stick to the simple food, the creative plates are good but not the best. A bit pricey compared to the neighboring tavernas but it’s worth to change palate

Bar
Nestled in the charming village of Katelios, Nemesis Cafe Bar is a delightful culinary gem that offers a diverse menu featuring both British and Mediterranean-inspired dishes. Whether you're looking to kickstart your day with a hearty breakfast, enjoy a leisurely lunch, or unwind with an after-dinner drink, this cafe bar has something for everyone. Its inviting atmosphere makes it an ideal spot to relax and savor delicious flavors while soaking up the local vibe.
Best sunbeds and bar at the beach. Sun beds are free if buying food or drink. We came to this place 3 times to use the sun beds and 1 time just for dinner. You need to come early in the morning! As the beds will be gone by 11am! The food is delicious. Their kalamari, meat meze and gyros is amazing. I had a full English breakfast on our last day as our hotel breakfast was shocking and I was not let down :) the full English comes with fresh orange juice and choice of tea or coffee. The staff are really nice and polite. The toilet inside is also kept really clean!

A few years now since we spent time @ Nemesis - back in day we would have made a special trip to visit such was the service and atmosphere . Service today ( around 3 30 /4pm) was hap hazard at best- one waiter was hyper running around and straightening up chairs and tables but in his rush missed the detail - the other bearded waiter 'strutted' around allowing the dynamo waiter to do the bulk of the work - Denise ( owner) remained behind the counter on other side of road . There seemed an obsession with all waiting staff about their sunbeds - the dynamo waiter said to one party ' ....are you sure you don't have a sunbed.....' The lady waitress was a tad officious for a beachsode holiday Taverna / Cafe. Food and drink was just about ok nothing that special - yes still a great location but for us Nemesis had lost something - that said it was end of season so perhaps run out of puff - certainly run out of Customer Service. Certainly will not rush back and would not now recommend.

Went here a few times when I was in Katelios at the end of August for an evening drink before I went to one of the restaurants for dinner. One of the days, I arrived about midday and got a sun bed for a few hours which was a good location to spend some time in the lovely warm sea. Always great service when I went and I will definitely be back when I am in Katelios in 2025.

Good service in general and free sunbeds if you spend €30 on your lunch
AMTRS — Google review
A few years ago this place was lovely, but it’s really gone downhill. Before you even sit down you get snapped at that you must spend €30 for the sunbeds, as if the big signs everywhere weren’t already obvious. The waitress with short hair was abrupt and curt, not a hint of hospitality. Her first words weren’t even a welcome but “What is your sunbed number, you must spend €30.” Honestly, if we’re your guests it would’ve been more polite to check the number yourself rather than bark at us. The tall guy was full of smiles and service for a loud, obnoxious family next to us, running around after them constantly. When I asked for some coffee grounds he sighed, sneered and muttered under his breath while we were being swarmed with wasps. I had to ask more than once and each time he made his irritation very clear. He seemed to cheer up later, but it put a bad taste in my mouth his initial attitude. Maybe because we’re two younger women they assumed we had less money, which is silly and rude. The sunloungers are uncomfortable and dirty, and the decking seems to attract wasps probably because it doesn’t get cleaned properly. Food was very average at best. When it came time to pay, the lady behind the bar couldn’t even look up or make eye contact. Overall it just feels unfriendly, unprofessional and neglected. Such a shame because it used to be a nice spot. Luckily the new place next door is miles better in every way, with a much kinder owner, better service, cleaner facilities and much better food. If they’ve had a bad season they should think about how much their attitude and poor facilities have contributed to it. This was a horrible experience for no reason.

Absurdly expensive place. 1.3 euros for just a small bottle of mineral water 500ml. It"s ridiculous. Waited for half an hour to order. Nothing special in terms of quality. Don't want to imagine what happens in the kitchen in the effort to maximize profit in a small period of peak season trying to compensate for the entire year. Unfortunately this is the same attitude that we experienced in several places in the island, especially the touristic ones. Excessively high prices, without these to be accompanied by the corresponding level of service quality and professionalism.
Dimitris V — Google review
I’ve just spent a week in the area and visited 3 times. Once for lunch and twice for dinner. It’s a lovely place and the staff are very friendly and lovely. Prices aren’t bad at all and are about the same as other local tavernas, so ignore the reviews that moan. Would highly recommend.
