Santa Clarita

Santa Clarita is a California city north of Los Angeles. It's known for the Six Flags Magic Mountain theme park, with many roller coasters. The Gibbon Conservation Center is a must-visit for animal lovers interested in learning about these fascinating primates. Established in the 1970s, the center is dedicated to preserving and researching these endangered, acrobatic apes native to Southeast, South, and East Asia. Visitors can book guided tours to explore the conservation areas and learn about the center's efforts in rescuing and caring for injured gibbons.
Great effort to save the Gibbons! It's a dirt road when you drive in but it's easy to find and the folks working there are very friendly. Cute little gift shop too.

Very interesting place for animal lovers. It is a nonprofit rescue and conservation center. The director gave us a tour for one hour and answered all of our questions about the gibbons. She was in no rush to end the tour, and was happy to spend her time talking with us all. They do good work and the gibbons seem very well taken care of and the breeding program is important to the species.
Lynn M — Google review
Such a fun experience. The guide was very knowledgeable and kind. The Gibons were so much fun to see and at the end of the tour they all broke into a Gibson song. Amazing time.
David — Google review
I had the chance to visit the Gibbons Conservation Center with my dad last Sunday, and it was such a memorable experience. The tour gave us a look at several species of gibbons, including infants with their mom. It was both fun and educational to learn more about these amazing animals who are quite vocal and social. What stood out most to me is the passion and dedication the staff puts into caring for these endangered primates and raising awareness about their conservation. It’s a small, intimate setting that makes the experience feel personal, and it left me with a deep appreciation for the work they’re doing to protect gibbons. I highly recommend a visit—it’s a wonderful way to spend an hour or two on the weekend, and you'll leave knowing your visit helps support an important cause.

Very informative, tour guide was knowledgeable. Kids enjoyed it! Be sure to bring water on hot days

We took a private tour of the Gibbon Conservation Center today with Jody and she was amazing!!! She exceeded our expectations with her knowledge, details, and tour. This is absolutely a MUST place to bring friends and family. I couldn't stop smiling in awe listening to the Gibbon's sing. I plan to take my family back for a tour over the holidays. Please support such an important place. There is nothing else like it in the USA!!!

This was a wonderful experience. The guided tour was excellent and we got to understand the plight of these beautiful creatures and come to understand how close in nature they are to us. It's a great family outing and one that I will always remember.

Flew in from Texas solely to come to this facility. Gabi gave us an incredibly and in depth tour despite the pouring rain! Really cemented my love for these little fellas to see the work they do there to play a vital role in conservation. It's a must see if you're ever in the greater LA area.

Water & Amusement Parks
Six Flags Magic Mountain is a well-known amusement park with a variety of modern roller coasters and rides suitable for young children. Located just 30 minutes north of downtown Los Angeles, it offers year-round fun and abundant sunshine. The park is home to world record-breaking roller coasters such as Twisted Colossus, The Riddler's Revenge, and X2. Visitors can enjoy scenic views from the hilly terrain while experiencing thrilling rides.
Six Flags Magic Mountain is an absolutely incredible park – a true paradise for roller-coaster lovers! The entire park is packed with amazing coasters, and we were really impressed by how short the waiting times were: usually between 5 and 15 minutes, and around 20 minutes for the newest ride. It made the whole day super smooth and enjoyable. We highly recommend booking your tickets in advance, and if possible, choose a package that includes food and drinks – it’s a great deal and makes the visit even more convenient. The park is clean, well-organized, and the staff were friendly throughout the day. We had an unforgettable experience and want to say thank you for an amazing time! We enjoyed it so much that we would gladly come back again – even traveling all the way from Germany. Highly recommended for anyone who loves thrills, speed, and a full day of fun!
Marco S — Google review
Amazing park. So many fun coasters and rides to choose from. The themes of the rides are phenomenal and match perfectly with the park. The food is great and I recommend buying the day pass and the refillable water bottle, especially on the warmer days. The funnel cake at the entrance is to die for. Definitely one of the best, if not the best, funnel cakes I've ever had. Depending on the day and time, some rides may be an hour or more wait time. However, during the first couple hours after the park opens and before it closes, the ride times go down exponentially.

Best park I have ever been to. I got to race a car and then got my spine broken on a wooden coaster right after. Then I failed the riddlers riddle so I had to stand up on his ride then I wondered why the train wont stop on Wonder Women (seriously guys like, it dosent even stop at the loading station so you have to jump in and hope you lock in in time) but I rode it like 6 or 7 times anyways. Then Batman turned me upside down and in the procces I got kidnapped by Lex Luther and got dropped from 400 feet onto the biggest pendulum ride in the world. As I stumbled away I suddendly got a green cup that let me get a free refill. Idk what that ment so I stepped onto a orange coaster because I thought there would be some Fanta there but instead it made me Scream on Scream. After that I tried something else that was orange and instead got strapped onto a ride that used to hold the title for worlds tallest ride and into a tunnel on Goliath. Ready to give up hope I sit in a nice green colored seat... only to race a blue coaster train in Teisted Collosis. When I thought the ride was over it faked me out and went for a 2nd loop around the track. Then I spotted a coaster with a loop and I remembered something, "This is a great begginer coaster called the New Revolution, to get a good warmup in you should ride this ride to eliminate the fear of hights" (Random Youtuber). So I step on and instead i get a launch at 80 mph while hearing "Wait I forgot the shoulder straps" and got put into the worlds highest top hat loop on Full Throttle. I later found out what a top hat loop was when i went on top of the loop into a near vertical 160 ft drop at the end. By then I found a cool red coaster called Viper, after mistaking it for a Coca Cola (its an honest mistake anyone can make) I broke my neck in 12 deffrent locations (please dont ride it it will hurt, goos layout though a refurbishment would be great for it) It started to get dark so I got into line for something called Tangy since I thought it was a food center for tangy foods. Instead I got on a ride where I hung allmost 200ft above the air and went on the worlds biggest pretsal loop. Then I thought I found the exit. But then I got strapped into a ride. After all the rides I went on that day I knew this cant be much worse. My first tip off that it was worse was when the train started to move backwards out the station. After reaching the peak at around 200ft I go on the first drop backwards. After screaming my lungs out the train bobs up and turns out that was a 10 ft dip. Then music starts playing and I fall backwards at 200 ft while doing a backflip at a 90° straight down angle then forced into a 180ft tall raven loop and doing a turn to see the whole park lit up. Then I do a flip again and get blazed with flamethrowers on a smaller loop before flipping again and pulling into the station. It was so good I got everything in the store related to it (I dont have pictures of it right now but it wasent a lot just a patch and a shirt) and rode it again because that was the best experience in my life. Then I finally exited and I was sad because even though every ride sounded like some sort of extreme tourture you would go through for commiting a horrible crime... it was still fun in the end. 67/10, I will be coming back here as soon as possible to ride X2 again. Cant wait to see what else you guys cook up. Thanks :).
Floppers — Google review
I’ve been to Magic Mountain twice now, and omg I love it so much. we started with x2, so we saved a lot on waiting in lines & were able to try every ride in the park. my fav rides here are x2, tatsu, twisted collusus & wonder woman. twisted collusus is so fun that we did it 4x a day. x2 at night is something i think everyone should experience because the views are actually immaculate🫶🏽 tatsu🐉 is INSANELY fun too. dueling on twisted is a-ma-zing🎢 all rides here are fun & there are so many options to choose from! the only ride i didn’t like was viper bc the loops are just not fun, but besides that, the park is amazing.
Simran D — Google review
Six Flags Magic Mountain is an absolute blast from start to finish. The park is packed with energy, tons of rides, and plenty of spots to chill between thrills. The standout for me was Wonder Woman — easily the best ride of the day. Fast, smooth, and totally worth any wait. Whether you’re going with family or a group of friends, it makes for a perfect day trip. The mix of big coasters, fun themed areas, and general “let’s-just-have-a-good-time” vibes really comes together. If you’re looking for a full day of fun, this park delivers.
WanderAndDine — Google review
Forever a classic, BEST amusement park for thrills! My son's friends invited him to Six Flags for his birthday and I got to be the lucky parent to drive them there. My 9 year old daughter and I took advantage of making it a mommy and daughter date while the others had their own fun. The lines were surprisingly short. The most we waited was maybe 35 minutes. We were able to get on 15 rides! (Loved the app for wait time). The staff was attentive with thorough cart check, which made me feel safe in high speed roller coasters of its stature. For $32 and some change in got ALL my park pictures digitally. Which also included video clips of the coasters before the actual picture capture. One of my best experiences at Six Flags.

Sights & Landmarks
The Gentle Barn is a sanctuary for over 170 rescued animals, including cows, pigs, turkeys, and more. Visitors can interact with the animals during a tour of the Upper Barnyard and learn about the barn's mission to provide a nurturing environment for both animals and people. The barn aims to teach kindness and compassion towards animals and offers opportunities to hug, pet, and feed the resident animals.
This place was glorious! Such a wonderful experience. The animals are so calm and beautiful, they give off so much loving energy. The place is really cool with so many different things to see and experience. It was really cute how the cows had Halloween bows and the guides were in costumes! All of the guides were sweet and informative. Had a delicious vegan dog in a cool and spooky vampire/Halloween cart. 10/10 will go back. Bought stuff in the gift shop to support the sanctuary 💖💖💖

This place is freaking amazing, a sanctuary, a home, a mission for providing healing for loads of rescue animals that each have their own story. While the animals get their own therapy, you can come swing by for some much needed therapy through a hug or some belly rubs (with consent). Theres tons to do here and it’s a great spot for the entire family. They do accept walk-ins, but it’s a pretty limited size, so it’s better to make a reservation. Also, they do sell snacks on site, but everything is plant based if that matters to you. We tried some snacks and everything was yummy. The kiddos especially liked the chocolate chip cookies!

It was a neat experience to see farm animals up close and make physical contact with so many of them and give them love. My three kids (ages 4, 7, 9) enjoyed it a lot. Interacted with and viewed: horses, ponies, donkeys, cows, peacocks, llamas, emu, male and female turkeys, pigs, goats, sheep, chickens. The staff were friendly though their knowledge seemed mainly isolated to the animal(s) they were watching. They knew some about the other animals but not a lot. Street parking. Hand washing stations. Shaded place to eat food (which you can bring or purchase) - vegan only. The founder gave the introduction when we arrived. She seems legit in terms of being true to the mission of The Gentle Barn. My son, who was the one child not interested in this activity, chose to brush the cows. He really seemed to like that part. For me, hugging the cows was the best part of the activity. It's a neat experience to hug a 2500 pound animal.

The Gentle Barn is a place where compassion comes to life. Every animal has been through something, and seeing them safe, loved, and thriving is deeply moving. The staff’s kindness and the peaceful setting make this a truly healing experience — not just for the animals, but for the visitors too. ❤️🐮🐄🦃🐐🐓🐷🐖

I love The Gentle Barn so much. They have so much love and respect for all of their animals and seem to take such great care of them. They teach people how to read their body language, to be gentle, and respectful, which I have never seen anywhere else. 90% of the staff seem really nice, other seem annoyed by your existence, and others seem like they would rather not talk to anyone (which isn't great when you're supposed to speak to them about how to pet the animals etc). But the owners.... wow!! Absolute angels. Heros. I hope they never change. I would 100% recommend The Gentle Barn to everyone, and will definitely be back one day!
Ashley M — Google review
My friend wanted to hug a cow which we were able to do and so much more. The animals are so sweet and gentle and the staff and volunteers are everywhere and very helpful. I never imagined I’d pet an emu or gave a turkey fall asleep in my lap. Go early cause it can get hot and bring water. Also plan to get dirty because you’ll be walking and sometimes sitting in the dirt to get close to the animals. They’re doing very powerful work and being with the animals is really healing
Steph M — Google review
Celebrated my fiances bday here with our kids. We all loved it. Learned a lot, got to hug some cows and feed some horses. You can tell they care a lot about their animals. All employees and volunteers were extremely sweet and informative.
Nicholas F — Google review
My girlfriend and I had such a great and powerful experience here. It is unbelievable how well run this place is. All the animals (even the small ones) have their own volunteer to watch over them and provide information about them, and you can hang out with and pet the animals as long as they are comfortable with. We never felt rushed to move on from any animal, and we got to spend a lot of time with each and every one. It was very moving hearing about what they have been through, and so powerful to learn what this organization is able to do to provide them with a dignified life.

Museum
Sights & Landmarks
The William S Hart Museum, once the home of the renowned silent-film actor, offers a captivating experience with its extensive collection of Native American and Western art. The opulent Spanish colonial-style mansion is adorned with fine furs and hides, while the picturesque grounds feature hiking trails leading to alpacas, tortoises, grouse, and water buffalo. This 265-acre Horseshoe Ranch also hosts film screenings and concerts throughout the year.
Good fun for walking around and seeing all of the animals; Hart's Mansion is always interesting to look around in. After the self guided house tour, there was even a craft corner where kids could make a picture frame in the shape of a horse shoe for free. Staff was very friendly and made the experience all the more enjoyable!

We hated that the museum was closed because of Covid but my husband and I enjoyed hiking up to it. We saw bison and birds and the beautiful building and Mary Ellen’s tea room. It was peaceful and quiet and we enjoyed a picnic on the lawn at a picnic table. It was a perfect length walk.

This park indeed is a hidden gem per previous comments. I love hiking here! The Bisons are such great listeners. The views are amazing the higher you go.

I thought this place was so cool because almost everything inside the house was from 90 years ago which i thought was cool. The mansion was huge. 10,000 square feet to be more exact! I definitely recommend to anyone who is thinking about it and the views are amazing!!

Beautiful place to visit, great nature views, city views, trails, museum, and buffalo. A lot to see and do in one place and for free. Hopefully it stays free. 😀👍🏼

Wonderful resource for local interests. Historic setting, plentiful park areas for picnics, quinceaneras, or just a fun day. Barnyard, trading post, and railway cars, oh and bison too.
Carl B — Google review
I love this place. It's beautiful, peaceful, serene, interesting and a wealth of history. They have restrooms, plenty of parking, a gift shop and a picnic area. There are several places to explore. The accompanying photo was taken in The Ranch House Museum located near the parking lot. You can also take a walk up to the main house. Along the way there are places to check out and it's possible to see the free roaming bison. They are located in the hills on the other side of the fence. Once you get to the house, you can take a guided tour. Don't be afraid to ask questions. The folks here are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. If you can't do the walk due to an impairment ask about driving up. Even though I've been here on many occasions, I manage to learn something new or see something different each time.

Historical landmark
Old Town Newhall stands as the historic heart of Santa Clarita, boasting a rich legacy that dates back to its origins with Charles Mentry's pioneering oil well. This charming neighborhood has evolved into a vibrant downtown area, seamlessly blending its historical roots with contemporary flair. Visitors can explore an eclectic mix of boutique shops, art galleries, and delightful eateries that line the streets. The revitalization efforts have preserved Old Town Newhall’s western charm while introducing over 60 unique businesses to the community.
Historical district of Santa Clarita that reflects the “Old Town” label well. Plenty of restaurants and shops to stroll into. There’s also sufficient FREE street parking and a lot just down the main road.
Braedyn B — Google review
I went on a Sunday. Found out real quick. The only type business open was restaurants on Main street in the heart of Newhall. There were approximately 4 botiques open at the most. If you are going to shop, don't go on a Sunday. On a positive note, the parking garage was free, centrally located, ADA elevator, and open spaces galore!
Anthony R — Google review
A little bit smaller, a bit less populated with stores and people, a bit less foot traffic and a bit more car traffic than I'd hoped for based on other reviews. Maybe in a few more years of the city pushing for new and interesting development, Old Town newhall is going to kick all kinds of arse, but right now it just seems like it's in a developmental stage. It's too bad, they have the makings of something which could be truly great. With that amazing library as a centerpiece, Old Town newhall could definitely become something memorable, creative, artistic, and hopefully, a little weird. But it's not quite there yet.

Italian restaurant
Piccola Trattoria is a popular, upscale restaurant that offers a wide range of traditional Italian dishes in a cozy indoor dining area or on the outdoor patio. The menu features classic Italian favorites like lasagna and cheese pizza, as well as signature dishes such as Bucatini con Palpette di Angie and Mediterranea Pizze. The restaurant also boasts an extensive wine selection with options for both dinner and dessert.
Clean, delicious, sophisticated Sicilian Italian food. Yes, I'll be back. Piccola is by far a Treasure! This is an Italian Family business, husband & wife, etc. It's a Modern, classy, Italian spot, affordably priced. The food at Piccola is one of those places that reminds me of cooking for close friends & family at a home holiday, something over the top, special occasion type dishes. Service: If I could give them 10 stars, I would. A very meticulous Team, working in unison. The kitchen staff is by far one of the best! Attention to detail, refined side dishes. This place, the food and all the staff deserve a Michelin Star! Food: No other Italian place within 50 miles compares. It's worth the drive from Westlake Village, West LA, SFV, Bay Cities, Malibu, etc. AND Piccola Trattoria puts those spots like Nonna and Basta to shame. The food in general is very clean, not oily or greasy at all. Just the right amount of salt, and no overburdeny oregano either. The meat they use to make their sauces is lean, so the final result is not fatty. The dough in the pizza was fresh made through fermentation, not store bought yeast. The desserts were savory, not overly sweet or loaded with sugar. They were divine. The meat dishes were cooked to perfection and to your liking, the lamb chops, osso bucco, ribeye. Some of my favs: 1. Pizza w/ mushroom & prosciutto. I think they use Mozz & Sharp Provalone cheese. Yum. 2. The Baby Rack of Lamb Chops medium rare. Omg, tender and juicy. No funky game taste at all. Sauce on the side, so you can dip. 3. Ribeye cooked Medium. Savory, tangy, filling. 4. Get a cannoli! You'll thank me later. Light/flaky shell, perfect savory filling. 5. Oh, the Tartufo Classico was my favorite dessert. Prices are Affordable. I feel like you could easily get a meat dish at this place for much less than the price of a pasta dish or even a pizza at other Italian places. Piccola's menu is evenly balanced between meat dishes, seafood, pasta and pizzas. It's a good, well-rounded assortment that aims to please. Atmosphere is elegant, call it business casual. It's a great date spot, or a place you would bring your closest adult relatives. Kids welcome too! But by no means is this any kind of NY hole in the wall spaghetti with meatballs joint. It's more sophisticated than that. December 2024 Parking is $6 valet, or some street parking is available. If you're a first-generation Italian to the United states, or your parents are straight out of Italy, this is definitely the spot for you! Piccola T is exceptionally great food, at an affordable price, with great service. Honestly, dinner for FIVE people came out to around $300 WITH Wine, shareable appetizers, desserts (plural), 1st and 2nd courses. Good Luck trying to get those prices in Westlake, Malibu, or the West side. I feel like I got my money's worth at this place, and everyone at the table was definitely satisfied, felt full, and we all had a very delicious and enjoyable meal. AND we had leftovers to bring home. I came here once in 2018, and because of the pandemic and other reasons, couldn't get back until just now. But I will definitely visiting here more often for sure! Please give this place a try if you're looking for good Italian food at Great prices, without the hype. And please tell them I sent you. Cheers!

Piccola is definitely the best Italian restaurant in Santa Clarita. The food is always fresh and consistent quality. Service is great and a very inviting dining atmosphere. Tonight we started with the Parma Prosciutto with Pecorino Toscano and Caramelized Figs. Definitely recommend as a light starter. For the main course we had the truffle pasta special and the swordfish. Both were outstanding. Dessert was the apple atop puff pastry served with ice cream and I had an espresso to cap the evening. Great service, great food, and a wonderful date night.

We loved all the appetizers we had - calamari, mussels and eggplant parmigiana. They’re all amazingly delicious! The lamb was fabulous as well. Lasagna and pepperoni pizza were ok. The NY steak was disappointing. We ordered medium rare but it came out medium (too cooked for our liking) and was “swimming” in balsamic sauce, but appreciate the generous serving of arugula salad. We dined to celebrate my husband and daughter’s birthday, there was complimentary cannoli with birthday candle. That was a sweet touch! Service was amazing and all the waiters are attentive.

Limited to non-existent free parking. Valet only, which is rare in Santa Clarita. Nice restaurant inside and it would be good for a date night. Friendly service. Great presentation. Not the best Italian I have ever had, but it wasn't bad at all. I had the pumpkin and ricotta ravioli and it was a bit bland to me. A little pepper and a dash of salt helped it a bit. My wife had the bolognese and it was better. Next time, I will try the ossobucco, a rack of lamb or veal. We had a cannoli for dessert, and we could not break it with the dessert spoon we were given, but it tasted good. I would say to give it a try and see for yourself. I miss my old Italian place in North Hollywood called Spumante.
Bryan B — Google review
Wonderful restaurant! I've been visiting for the last 25 years, when it was a delicatessen. I would stop in for pizza or sandwiches during lunch and order lasagna to have for dinner. Excellent food and service. Nice white table cloth, but still family friendly restaurant. Good wine selection.

This Italian restaurant makes me yearn for my hometown in central NY! Authentic feeling with a very full menu to choose from. We ate in the bar area on a very busy Saturday evening. My husband had a beautiful plate of linguine and clams, the flavor was distinct and excellent. I had the lobster half-moon ravioli in a really nice butter sauce. The spinach salad was also quite good. Special mention of the warm bread with traditional olive oil & balsamic available for dipping. All the food was served at the right temperature, service was truly excellent, from the valet, to the hostess to the bartenders and servers. For dessert, we brought home Tiramisu and we both agreed it was the best we have ever had! We look forward to returning for another wonderful dinner...soon! Recommend reservations.

The first time here always passed by but never made it it in, I'm glad I did. The food was amazing as well as the service. The parking is not too great, but they do have a valet for I believe $6. The menu was great choices for food and wine.

XRO Fresh Churro Bar is a small counter-service dessert shop in Old Town Newhall that serves up churros with a variety of toppings. It's an impressive place with plenty of unique flavors to choose from, and it's quickly becoming the go-to spot for SCV food enthusiasts.
Love this place! Husband I went here for the first time last Sunday and it was amazing. We ordered the churro on soft serve and it was soooo good. We got condense milk and Oreos as toppings and I believe they added caramel too. I can’t wait to go again and bring my family here! Service was also really nice—since it was our first time, the person that helped us gave us great suggestions based on what we like. Also, the atmosphere is a total vibe. It’s very pretty and people were studying / doing work; it has cafe vibes!

I have mix feelings. The churros are freshly made and very crunchy but I think they were a little over cooked. Also l. Maybe I little thin?? and maybe way too much sugar. My wife and my Mom said they really liked them. I like Churros, maybe I need to come again.

Let just say their churros is on point! That smack diggity bomb! It’s crunchy and soft inside and when you take a bite, the sweet deliciousness just melts in your mouth. It was so good I bought another bag! Service was amazing, I dropped my drink and spilled it everywhere and they were so kind to replace it and said don’t worry they will clean it up. Definitely will come back and gain some weight here!

Fresh crispy non greasy churros made to order or minutes before order. It was still warm in the bag. These are about 5in long and shaped in a loop. Perfectly dusted in sugar, nothing like the first bite. Also ordered the bits drizzled with condensed milk. It's the same warm fresh churros cut up in bite size about an inch long pieces with a little oomph drizzle. Yummyness score 10/10. I will have to go back and try the drinks on the menu but there's lemonade, horchata, blended chocolate, and more. Highly recommended by a dear friend and it did not disappoint. Located along Main St. In Newhall, corner block from the theater and library. A couple tables inside and outside with umbrella. Nice spot for a lazy afternoon when you have some sweet hankering for some churro. Prior to this, the only churro I can vouch for are the ones from disneyland. Today, this wore the crown for sure. Check it out and experience an amazing simple treat leveled up to a "i.just.forgot.my.name" kindda heavenly yum.

I am so glad we stopped in! We walked past to get to where we were going for breakfast and made sure to leave a little room for churros because none of us had ever seen a shop/restaurant that only sells churros. We popped over, and this place was super cute inside! It's a bit small as you walk in, but it has some tables and chairs to the right. It's bright and fun in here, and the smells were amazing! We ordered a bag of 8 churros for our group of 4 to share, as well as an icy horchata. First off, the horchata was booooomb!! I honestly think it's one of the best I've had, I loved it! The churros were also suuuuper good! We got the strawberry and hazelnut dipping sauces to go with it, and I definitely preferred the strawberry to the hazelnut. The churros were crunch, warm, and the sugar on top was delicious. Even after taking them with us on our road trip back home, they were still delicious a few hours later! We were greeted immediately upon entering, and service was wonderful throughout our time in the place. Wherever you are going in the area, be sure to leave room for these delicious churros!

This yummy treat has two bent half churros placed in ice cream. Choices of vanilla, chocolate or twist are available. Goes for around $6.

Best churros ever! They’re always fresh. Staff is sweet and they never make you wait long. The prices are super affordable too so highly recommend just grabbing the 8 piece. You won’t regret it!
Michelle A — Google review
Really good churros, made fresh and warm. They’re pretty sweet in and of themselves, so though the dipping sauces are great, we tend to go without. The strawberry lemonade tastes more interesting than a typical strawberry lemonade (my wide thought it was something with guava). Note that the location itself is quite small, though there is some seating.

Mexican restaurant
Taco restaurant
Guanatos Tacos is a Mexican restaurant in Santa Clarita, CA, drawing inspiration from the flavors of Guadalajara, Mexico. Their menu features a variety of authentic dishes such as Tacos de Birria, Mole, Chile Verde, Guisados, Quesadillas, and Tamales. The restaurant has gained attention for their signature red salsa and offers a range of meat options.
For a Taco Tuesday their street tacos are pretty good with a really good deal, at a $1 each. I got all three options (chicken, beef, and al pastor) for my order. Chicken: Seasoned well and tender. Beef: A bit greasy but tasted good. Al Pastor: There is a kick, but not too spicy. This time around I took advantage of the drive-thru which I was amazed flowed fairly quickly. Pros: Price, Speed of Service, Drive-thru Cons: Beef was a bit greasy
Priscilla B — Google review
It is actual food that is made to order, in a drive-thru! I would put it up there with Jimmy Dean's as a place that has fresh food with real ingredients and a drive-thru. It did not really take that long and it was good food. If I had to complain I would say that the price was a little high for what it was, but it was good food. It is kind of easy to drive by because even if it's a big building the shopping center is a bit obscure. There is definitely handicap accessible stuff, I'm not sure about vegetarian or vegan options because a lot of times beans can be made with meat or something. But you can definitely find something healthy. And you can definitely keep your keto diet. It has a pretty good menu. They stick to Mexican food which is nice, they are not trying to have a menu that is a jack of all trades. They also offer about 10 kinds of burritos and tacos and nachos and everything else that's Mexican food.

I went here cause they have been given some great reviews. It was very disappointing. I got the Cabeza Taco Rojos and a normal Al Pastor Taco. They were average at best. Nothing real special about it. Honestly, if i were craving tacos and this was one of the inly places open, i would just go without.

Guanatos tacos is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 the food is always fresh & taste as good as the first day you’ve eaten Guanatos. ALEJANDRA actually turned me on to Guanatos tacos. If you in the area go visit and ask for Alejandro she will treat you like you at home. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ all I can say is #ENJOY

This is our second time here. Line was not too bad this time, it took about 15 minutes to get our order. The lady taking our order was very patient and helpful, great customer service. Red tacos needed a bit more sauce. Overall food is good and the salsas are spicy. Double check your order sometimes they forget to give you everything.

Went here for the third time wanting to try something new. The person at the register was very helpful (AND PATIENT) with giving recommendations and gave some very good suggestions for my daughter! Food was great, as always. Thank you CARLOS for the recommendations! We'll definitely come back again.

$17.50 for a cheese burrito! I am sorry but I don't care how good that cheese is a burrito will never be worth $17.50. My first time coming here and this was my first impression I will never come to this restaurant ever again. You tell me a burrito is $17.50 and I am going to assume you think I am an imbecile, and an easy person to take advantage of. When a cheese burrito is actually worth $17.50, hopefully I will have passed away already and have moved on a long time ago. And thank God too, Because I dont want to live in a world whete 1 cheese burrito is actually worth $17.50. I am having a hard time believing that there are actually people out there that pay $17.50 for a cheese burrito. Thanks but no thanks, won't be seeing you again, anytime!

I like the birria ramen here. It's all I've ever had. About 4 times now, I think. They don't go skimpy one the meat. Squeeze in some lime and I'm all in. My friends have had the tacos and stuff they say are pretty good. I like that red salsa in those little packets, pretty damn good. Its always clean in there, never smells weird inside, and the employees are real cool and polite, always seem to be in a real good mood. I'll be back for birria ramen, for sure.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of downtown, The Old Town Junction has quickly become a standout destination on the Santa Clarita dining scene since its opening in 2018. Stopped here for lunch. The food was amazing! There's several vegetarian options. The fried artichoke was a game changer. My cousin said the short rib taco was the best she's ever had. The mushroom toast was also amazing. Now I see why they are always packed in the evenings. Highly recommend!

Great spot to meet with friends, family, or fun times for 2. The food is great, and the craft cocktails are nicely done. Had the Kalbi tacos, they were amazing, full of flavor like a party. The Ahi taco were also good. Service was friendly and on it. Has a good vibe for any age group. Live music was a great add to a fun afternoon. Definitely will come back and recommend checking it out!

Hands down the best steak salad I have ever had. This was my second time here and I have had phenomenal experiences each time. The first time I had the steak and frites which was delicious. The second time I came for a late lunch and had the steak salad. Normally when you get a steak salad you expect a few sad slices of steak on top of a bed of lettuce but this far exceeded my expectations.

Super fun place in old town Santa Clarita / Newhall. Energetic vibe inside. Glad I made a reservation. We ate outside and got to listen to a live band and watch the trains go by. Stellar service and delicious food - especially the scallops. Had a White Linen and Empress Island for drinks. The bread pudding for dessert was one step too decadent for my night but I couldn’t resist. They had Thursday night football on TV and a huge window into the kitchen.

Why I Recommend The Junction in Old Town Newhall The Junction stands out as one of the finest dining experiences in Santa Clarita, bringing a distinctive edge of craftsmanship to foods and drinks that people genuinely love. It's the perfect starting point for a Friday or Saturday night out, especially for date night, with other breweries, pubs, and wine bars within walking distance to continue your evening. What makes The Junction special is how they apply creative craft to familiar favorites without veering into pretentious territory. Their cocktail program exemplifies this approach - the Painkiller delivers a creamy coconut rum experience that transports you to the South Pacific, while the Mezcal Sunset offers an intriguing balance of tangy, sweet, and spicy notes with a potent kick. For food, nothing in Santa Clarita compares to their 40-ounce Tomahawk steak with sides. Though listed for two, it comfortably fed six of us during my wife's birthday celebration. Beyond this showstopper, their menu excels across all categories - the braised short rib delivers complex comfort, the Loco Moco makes for perfect post-workout satisfaction, and their French dip stands out with its saucy, juicy perfection. The Junction succeeds where many restaurants fail - creating a space that works for every occasion, from casual meals to elevated date nights to special celebrations. It's not another cookie-cutter chain restaurant; it's a place with a distinct personality and consistent quality that makes every visit feel worth the investment. Whether you're a local or just passing through, The Junction offers that rare combination of creative quality, satisfying food, and an atmosphere that's both comfortable and energizing.

My husband and I recently held our wedding rehearsal dinner here and we had a fantastic time! Planning this event was a very smooth process all the way through, thanks to Christine. She happily answered all of our questions and worked with our budget and guest count. The food was fantastic! Our guests kept saying how good everything was. And we even had more food than anticipated so they brought out to go boxes for everyone which was such a nice touch. The private room was beautifully decorated and fit our group perfectly. Our server was very kind and took care of us the entire night. We could not recommend Newhall Refinery for a private event enough! Thank you all!

Newhall Refinery is located in such a wonderful area surrounded by other restaurants, bars, theatre, and more. They were accommodating with our group as we didn't have a reservation. The location is very nice inside and the drinks were great. Food was good. The only issue we had was service was a little slow. However, they were busy so it's understandable. I would definitely go back again.

I visited Newhall Refinery on Saturday around 5 pm, and it was the perfect time! The menu was amazing, and I highly recommend the Philly steak sandwich. The bread was special, the meat tender and flavorful, and the cheese excellent. It was super good. Parking is limited to street parking, so arrive early for a good spot. The atmosphere is family-friendly and welcoming, with unique beer taps along the ceiling adding a cool vibe. The service was outstanding, with friendly and attentive staff. The restroom was clean. The wait time for our food to arrive was good, it took around 10-15 minutes. You could tell the food quality was excellent, with dishes made from good ingredients. The restaurant has a unique charm and serves all-American classic bar-type food. The portions were just right, and the prices were great. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and can't wait to go back. - Luis

Cute lil spot in Newhall. Great food for sure! If you’re looking for quality juicy burger 10/10. Steak and French fries were perfection! Fry’s are seasoned,Parmesan thin and crispy. Service was ok, nice but nothing over the top.

We ordered the cheese board and the Philly. We were expecting a wide variety of cheese but we felt a bit dissapointed since there were only three slices of cheese and the rest was nuts and fruit. We made a comment to the waitress since she asked us how it was. 2 minutes later, one member of the kitchen staff came out and brought another plate with plenty of cheese, which was ok, but the same type of cheese. The Philly was really yummy, we shared it because it was too much. The staff were really kind and adviced us very nicely, clarifying the difference between some dishes, telling us about the ingredients and giving opinion too. The place had a great athmosphere. All in all, we had a great experience and we would recommend this place.
