Beautiful outside and very interesting inside. We happened to come on a day that the cafe was closed, so we didn't get to experience that. However, everything else was enjoyable. There was no admission, no wait and no crowd. We were in town visiting my college student and I am looking forward to going back to see an entirely new exhibit each time.

The Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art is a hidden gem nestled in a beautifully landscaped setting that complements the elegance of its modern architecture. From the moment you arrive, the serene reflection pond and lush surroundings create a peaceful atmosphere, setting the tone for a meaningful experience inside. The museum itself is a testament to both thoughtful curation and a strong sense of place. Its rotating exhibits highlight not only national and international artists but also those deeply connected to the cultural and historical fabric of Alabama. Whether you're interested in Southern art, modern pieces, or classical works, the museum offers a diverse yet cohesive collection that feels relevant and engaging. What stands out most is the museum's commitment to education and community. It’s clear that the Jule Collins Smith Museum is more than a gallery—it’s a space where art, history, and regional identity intersect meaningfully. Whether you're an art enthusiast or a curious visitor, this museum is well worth your time. It offers a tranquil yet enriching experience that highlights the cultural richness of Alabama while maintaining a world-class standard.

Great shows and FREE admission, even for most programming. Frequent new shows every few months. You honestly can't ask for more than that. The focus is on the art and public programming. Free parking onsite and lots of space outside for a picnic.

Absolutely love this museum. It is such a beautiful place and I look forward to enjoying each and every exhibit. They have so many fun family events that are phenomenal. The children's events were always a hit with my daughter when she was younger. Walking around the lake watching the turtles and resident "bunnies" is always so relaxing and fun. Thankful to have such a wonderful museum in The Loveliest Village on the Plains to enjoy.

Beautiful, serene and relaxing place. No admission. They do ask for a $5 donation (which I gladly gave). They could use their space better although the openness is beautiful. The property is nice to just walk around too.
Yutaro M — Google review
Generally disappointed. After being impressed with the exterior, the entrance and the two secret gardens, I was expecting something special inside. I guess they are at the mercy of what temporary exhibits are available. Maybe developing some exciting permanent exhibits would be fruitful.
Anders S — Google review
Beautiful facility with must see new exhibition on “Crafting America” direct from the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Arkansas. Always popular Audubon prints paired with pressed botanicals for “Outside In” exhibit. Chihuly chandelier in lobby, outdoor sculptures and installations and blooming flowers. What more does one need?

Visitors can explore the extensive network of hiking and biking trails or opt for geocaching adventures. The park was amazing! There was so much to do, and our kids had a blast! Riding bikes, hiking, seeing a waterfall, fishing, kayaking, and enjoying the scenery! We have been there twice, and we will be going back. So far, it is our favorite place for camping!
DeAnn W — Google review
My family and I have been going here the last few weeks. We enjoy going to take different hiking trails. The waterfall is beautiful. The trails are fun. They have glamping, cabins, RV hook ups, and places to put up a tent, but we have never rented a place. The staff are always very kind. They have a playground that looks brand new and the kids love it. They are currently doing some construction inside, so we look forward to see the finish product of it.

We stopped here to picnic on our way to Helen,GA. The bathrooms were immaculate, the lake beautiful and the picnic area clean and we'll kept. We are not hikers (3 old ladies), so have no comment on trails. We were disappointed that the road was closed to get all the way around the lake, but the drive We did do was lovely through the woods and over an old bridge. A delightful couple hours respite.
Irene P — Google review
So beautiful, came out when it hasn't rained a bit, first week of cool weather. Beautiful hiking trails. They're currently working on a structure by the waterfall trail, but you can enjoy a longer hike and still get to the falls. We liked down from the falls through the rocks and had a blast. Epic playground.

Great place to come with your family for some great trails and sights. There are cabins and campgrounds available. We did not spend the night here, but we intended to sometime. It costs $4/person, but you can spend the day there enjoying this park. My wife and I look forward to coming back here again.
Scott G — Google review
Very nice staff! Lots of yellow jackets all.over the campground. They were swarming all over our sites during the day. The staff has been working on locating their nests throughout the park, but there are a lot of them right now. The bathrooms could be cleaner. There are many trails through the park and a small lake. The spots are private with many trees.

Chewacla State Park is such a perfect way to spend a morning while visiting Auburn! We snuck out early and were rewarded with gorgeous trails, peaceful water views, and the beautiful falls. It’s close to campus, easy to get to, and a great spot to reset before a busy day. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in town!

The Donald E. Davis Arboretum, located in Auburn University, is a 13.5-acre oasis showcasing native trees, plants, and wildlife of the Southeast region. It serves as an outdoor learning center for educational purposes and conservation efforts. Visitors can enjoy leisurely strolls along walking paths, observe local flora and fauna including a pond with fish and turtles, and marvel at the vibrant azalea blooms during springtime.
Such a beautiful and peaceful spot! The Davis Arboretum Pavilion has a stunning view of the surrounding greenery, and it's incredibly relaxing to just sit and take it all in. A perfect place to unwind, enjoy nature, and find a quiet moment away from everything. Highly recommend if you're looking for a scenic and calming escape!

It was ok. Nice and shady. Pretty flowers. If you want some solitude or a place to read a book out in nature, it would be a good place to go to.
Barbara S — Google review
A pleasant visit, will return again in the spring next year. We were scouting out places for my father's 90th B-Day celebration. We wanted to visit pretty places easily accessible and something of interests to an active, older adult. This place fit the bill. The newly renovated walkways were wide and easily negotiated offering plenty of traction for footing and very few if any steps to negotiate in the areas we walked. there are public bathrooms at the Donald E. Davis Arboretum in Auburn, AL, located on the east side of the pavilion. The arboretum is open daily from sunrise to sunset and has no admission fee. We came at the very end of the season in terms of foliage (second week in November). There were fellow botanists taking notes and snapping pictures of plants and other nature lovers. We saw lovers just hanging out and enjoying their surroundings and each other. Then we also saw other people just out for a lovely stroll, enjoying the peace, community and Zen of this place. There is a pond and waterfall, a couple of quaint little bridges and a small grassy area for some fun with little ones if they are included in your visit. Nearby there is a Taco Bell for fast food and other restaurants for something more formal or substantial. Just down the street, you can also visit the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art. The Auburn University vibe inspires and gives hope to elders looking for a connection with members of the local community. All around, I would say this is just what we were hoping to find for next year's planned B-day visit from Dad/Grandpa.

Great resource in downtown Auburn campus first time in the area and took advantage of the natural settings and horticulture as well as just Kule landscaping good amount of benches set and taken the peace and quiet plenty of sunny spots as well as shady areas a very nice area. I’ll be back when I’m in the area again

The arboretum is a lovely free place to take a stroll and see the local trees, bushes, flowers, plants, wildlife, pond, small waterfall, and enjoy the shade. I walk there on my lunch breaks (very close to Auburn University campus), and it is always a calm and peaceful place to visit. There is a nice loop of walking path but also more that extend beyond that and some in the middle. In spring you can enjoy the amazing azaleas blooming- various colors of orange, yellow, pink, red, and white.

Nice place to walk around with plenty of shade. The diversity of the plants and trees makes it a beautiful place to explore, and the smell and sounds of nature stand out amongst the busy town around it.

Worth going. It is always nice to find protected nature especially in the middle of a beautiful college campus. The founder’s 200 year old tree is there too. Gorgeous flowers, scents , everything!

University
Auburn University, established in 1856, is a public research university located on a sprawling 1,841-acre campus in the picturesque hills of east central Alabama. With around 30,000 students, it offers diverse academic programs and is renowned for its football team, the Auburn Tigers. The university's varsity sports teams compete in the NCAA Division Southeastern Conference. The campus is known for its vibrant atmosphere and friendly community.
This place has such a friendly, yet electric atmosphere! It's always a great experience at sporting events, and the campus is gorgeous! Auburn is a great education system!
Jmand0508 — Google review
Good university, huge and quiet library with lots of windows and natural lights, kids working there are very helpful and friendly, people around area are generally Friendly Happy in real unique warm Southern style, drivers generally are courtesy, nobody harass, stalk, nobody gets loud unnecessarily unless on football game days it can be super if it offers j.d. and or m.d. 1 star takes away because: it's really difficult to find parking lot, and campus canteen is very dark, doesn't really have much food choice nor windows which can cause depression to students
Oaal — Google review
Had an excellent tour here. Beautiful campus with good opportunities for students. It just stinks that students have to pay for sporting events here, which you don't have to do at other schools. Excellent views and interesting information.

Besides excellent academic environment, Auburn University is rich in many outdoor activities. The most favorite of all is toilet paper towels rolling event that always happens after wining games like football, basketball etc. University is rich in international events that normally attracts mass. Overall, I will rank this University as best institutions in south of US.
Sujan G — Google review
I am very grateful with Auburn University for the opportunity of being part of their staff. The campus is beautiful, full of colors and clean, and the people is friendly and nice, but of course there are things to improve. Although the University is divided in departments, the paperwork is centralized, and in some cases I felt that some people were overlapping the work of others, but despite the confusion at the beginning, everything went good and now I´m part of the family of this University. Another thing to improve is the equipment and infrastructure in the labs and classrooms. The town is small, but big enough for students (help to be more focus on what is really important, the school).

It's an outreach program of the School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences, offering various activities for nature enthusiasts. The center features well-marked hiking trails, a sensory garden, playground, butterfly garden, and a pond. Visitors can also enjoy educational programs and events focused on nature education.
We had our October 18th NO KINGS protest here. Such a beautiful, lush refuge in Auburn, Alabama.

A child-friendly wooded oasis in Auburn. For adults and seniors it's a pleasant 2 to 4 mile walk/hike on 120 pretty acres. Paper maps are available in an outdoor classroom located past the entry pavilion (also called the Nature Center). Look for a large open-sided structure. There is plenty of trail signage and once you have a map, finding your way is fairly easy. The Nature Center/entry pavilion has restrooms.

Very beautiful trail. Easy routes good for kids. And I choose to come alone while it's raining. Still had a blast and enjoyed the scenery!

A hidden gem in Auburn with lots of hiking trails. The fairy garden is cute. The hidden waterfall is worth the hike. My only suggestion is post trail maps around where some of the trails intersect or at least have a trail map on your website. I definitely could have used it when I was trying to find my way back to where I came in at.

This is an awesome place if you enjoy walks through nature. They have a playground, garden, education center and have a good bit of events. They also do nature education themed birthday parties, my daughter loved it. They have some insects, reptiles, and amphibians in their education center which are fun to see if it is open. I'm really looking forward to the sensory garden. Just know, they don't allow dogs.

Great place for walks in the woods. They have a nice playground, lake and pavilion for entertainment. My daughter went to the summer camps when she was younger and really enjoyed them. They also have many events throughout the year. Make sure you check their calendar so you don’t miss anything fun.

Southern restaurant (US)
Bar
Nestled in the heart of Auburn, Acre is a culinary gem that showcases Southern-inspired cuisine with a modern twist. Under the expert guidance of Chef David Bancroft, a celebrated figure in the food scene and a multi-year James Beard Award semifinalist, this farm-to-table restaurant has become an iconic destination for food lovers. The menu features delectable starters like honey-hot sauce butter cornbread and fried green tomatoes adorned with marinated Gulf blue crab and pimento cheese.
Great experience overall. The appetizer (a seafood option—I forget the name) was packed with flavor and a strong start to the meal. The strawberry salad was also fantastic. I had the tenderloin for my entrée, and it was cooked perfectly—very tender and flavorful, though it could’ve used just a touch more salt. Still, excellent overall. For dessert, I had a sampler with cake, brownie, and peanut butter cake. The regular cake was my favorite; the others were good but just not my personal taste. Service was friendly and attentive throughout. My whiskey cocktail was just okay—nothing special, but acceptable. The location is beautiful with a great vibe inside and on the patio. Definitely worth a visit.

My Fiance and I went there for dinner and had an amazing time! Neither of us had been before. Our waitress Sky was so kind and attentive, and once the staff found out we were celebrating our engagement they helped us celebrate to the max. We got fried green tomatoes for our appetizer and that was delicious. Our entrees were the strip sirloin and Duck breast and both us of wanted more after eating it. Then we decided to splurge and get the dessert board and coffee and WOW. Every dessert on there was amazing. They also slipped in an extra dessert on there for us since we were celebrating. Overall everyone was so incredibly kind and welcoming from the valet, to the hostesses, our waitress, and the rest of the staff. It was such a sweet way for us to celebrate!

The answer is ~ yes. Without hesitation. Prioritize a night out here. Wait staff is so helpful and friendly. Food was delicious. The only strange part was the parking situation, ha. I don’t want to ruin it for you, so I’ll let you experience first hand. Would go during peach season if able!

I do not normally start a review about food with the bread that comes first before your entree. But...the sour dough bread, heavily buttered, is placed on their hickory smoked grill and that extra flavoring kicks the taste up to the next level! I believe I could have ordered more bread and just ate that alone for an entire meal. However, we did order scallops and the duck breast which were cooked to perfection in their own special way. The online menu better describes the additional ingredients than I could do but the meal was very sumptuous.

Had a lovely dinner with my daughter. Such a cute quaint restaurant. I love all the different areas to eat including a patio. The ambiance is lovely. We had a reservation so were seated quickly. The menu has a great variety of options and I love that it is farm to table. We chose to have the Mapleleaf Farms duck breast with goat cheese risotto. We also started with a charcuterie board of different cheeses. The duck was perfectly cooked and the flavors with the goat cheese, risotto or amazing. Refinished with a peanut butter pie, which was extremely decadent and filling. It was a lovely night and will definitely come back to dine again.

My wife and I went here with reservations for our wedding anniversary. It’s a quaint little place and reminds you a bit of a lodge with farmhouse vibes. When we got there they had complimentary valet parking though we did tip the parking attendant as we left. The staff was friendly and did check on us regularly throughout our meal. The menu at this restaurant does change with season. On this night I went with the New York Strip with cowboy butter, crispy shallots and oven roasted carrots. It was at least 39 minutes after we ordered before our food hit the table. The steak was tasty with the cowboy butter but was a little overcooked to my order. I had asked for medium but it was more like medium well and on the edges it was well done. The carrots had a good flavor but were a little more al dente than I prefer. At $53, I was hoping for more options for choice of sides and more than just one. I didn’t ask if there was a choice so there may have been but the menu seemed to be set for each dish. We did have a Caesar salad prior to dinner which was good but the croutons were very hard and tough to chew into without fear of breaking a crown. My wife went with the Gulf Flounder Picatta. The fish was a nice size piece of fish. The crust though was a bit bland and the caper butter sauce was ok. My wife did swap out her sweet potato puree with regular mashed potatoes. They were ok as well but nothing special. My wife did order an extra side of braised collard greens with hearth smoked bacon. The greens were good with a little spicy kick. We only had water for drinks and our bill with tax and tips totaled out at $135. It was a special occasion so I was fine with it though it may be considered pretty pricey for just a regular sit down meal. We would go here again but would probably look closer at the menu since it does change to help us make the decision if we would return.

Gave 5⭐️ for the overall experience. The food was extremely tasty, just too salty for me. Ordered the sunday brunch menu (shrimp and grits, green fried tomatoes). Service was excellent, also the reason why the overall experience was a 5!

American restaurant
Located in Auburn, The Hound offers a rustic-chic setting with a simple New American menu and an extensive bourbon selection. The restaurant provides a unique atmosphere that captures the essence of fishing, hunting, and outdoor enjoyment. It's an ideal spot for those who appreciate a carefree environment to savor good food and drinks. Guests can choose from indoor or heated outdoor seating options with ample parking available nearby.
Brunch was amazing! You can pick from a bunch of different juices for your mimosas! The Bacon Flight was to DIE FOR! The pancakes came with fruit as an option, you don't have to get them this way, same for the French Toast! The hashbrown casserole has conecuh sausage in it, delectable! Our bartender Hensley(Henny) was amazing! Had a great experience all around!

It was our family's first time in Auburn. We brought the kids (4yo & 10mo) to the Hound on the recommendation of some locals. It did not disappoint. It was rush / move-in weekend. The place was slammed. Luckily, we had a reservation so we were good to go. The beers were good, selection was decent. Whiskey is what they're know for, but I had 2 boys under 5 with me, so I wasn't sipping the brown...the wife and I shared a bottle of Bordeaux red with dinner. The price point was great. It was on the light and young side, but all of our dishes had a slight spiciness to them, so that actually worked to our benefit! The food: We had to get the bacon flight as an appetizer. It was fantastic. If your family likes bacon, order it. It was gone so fast I couldn't get a photo! Both boys devoured it. My 4yo had the wings. They had a sweet and spicy glaze that we all loved. For a smoked wing, they were actually pretty crispy. I loved the cook on them. My wife had the meatloaf. We all loved it. The bacon and chorizo added to the grind really made it shine. The mashed potatoes and collards were great accompaniments. I had the bacon fried rice bowl with blackened chicken. There was a soft egg right in the very middle. I immediately broke the yoke and mixed all the sauces and eggy goodness together. That was the move. My wife raved about it and I scraped the bowl clean! With a bottle of wine, appetizer, and 3 meals we walked out of there for under $130 after tax and tip.

Coming from NY and Chicago where food it the top standard with the James Bared Awards I had to see what Alabama was all about. I had the chance to dine at The Hound in Alabama and really enjoyed the experience. My friend knew the owners there so I even got to meet the owners, a wonderful couple originally from California, who now own three restaurants in town. They were so warm and welcoming, which added a personal touch to the visit. I ordered the steak, which was flavorful, though the cut I received was a little on the fatty side for my taste. That said, the highlight of the dish for me was the chimichurri sauce—an absolute must-have every time. It was fresh, vibrant, and paired perfectly with the meat. My friend got the fish and chips but swapped the chips for fries, they had No Vinegar fyi. It was still very enjoyable. The atmosphere was another big win. Inside, the restaurant has a super cute and inviting vibe that feels both cozy and stylish. Love all the personal touches to the place like the hand made carved wood for the tables, the dear ornaments, clip board for the menu, and the bucket lights. It’s the kind of spot you could go for a casual dinner or even a special night out. Overall, The Hound is definitely worth a visit—delicious food, great ambiance, and owners who truly care about their guests.

The bacon flight and bread pudding is a MUST! We also ordered the Bison Burger and the Huevos Houndcheros and both were excellent! The servers were all so sweet and kind! They definitely made me feel very special on my birthday. Next time I am in town, this is the first place on my list!

The food was excellent. We really enjoyed the bulgogi tots, the pork chop, the famous meatloaf, and bread pudding for desert. Our server was Erica and she provided great recommendations and tremendous service. We will definitely return to The Hound!
Mike N — Google review
We're new to town and wanted to give this place a try because of the good reviews we have read online. Our server had a great personality, incredibly friendly. The atmosphere was lively, the host team friendly, and the tables themselves were unique and interesting. The server assistants were prompt and food came out in a timely manner. However, the food and drinks were mostly disappointing as was our servers menu knowledge. On your website, there was a Sunday Smoked Prime Rib listed- we came in just for this item. When asking the server, he had no knowledge of it. The online menu was also different from the menu in store. I was incredibly disappointed but wanted to give the restaurant chance so I asked my server to convince me to stay- He had no response and told us his "mind went completely blank". We still stayed. I wanted a martini with blue cheese olives, the server was unsure if you had them as an option. You did not so I ordered a side of blue cheese and stuffed my own olives at the table. The Hound Old Fashioned was good, it would have been nice to see a large cube in it for an establishment such as this. The table next to us got a bourbon flight and the bourbon labels were written in sharpie on thermal printer paper. We got the bacon sampler appetizer as recommended by our server. Two of the three tasted good but there were parts burnt almost black. The chipotle bacon was so incredibly over seasoned- salty and almost inedible. I asked for a steak medium rare but it came out almost blue- tried to get a managers attention (lady with long hair and tattoos) but she was too busy eating at the server POS station, in full view of the dining room, and did not notice me. The second time I tried to get her attention she came over and assisted me, thankfully my steak was better cooked the second time around. Loved the horseradish sauce. My partners bison burger was fantastic and I was grateful we ordered it. I'd come back just for the bison burger but would unlikely recommend the restaurant to others.

The Depot is an elegant seafood restaurant located in a refurbished train depot, offering a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Guests can enjoy a diverse wine selection while savoring fresh and unique flavors such as crab dip and risotto balls. The attentive staff provides excellent service, ensuring that every need is met. While the main dining area can be lively, the experience of watching trains pass by adds to the ambiance.
We ordered steaks from here, and they were good. We had the wagyu strip and the ribeye. I would pick the wagyu next time. I ordered a side of asparagus, and it was good as well. For dessert, we ordered the banana foster & creme brulee bread pudding and enjoyed it. The train came by twice and we thought that was fun. We would recommend coming here.

Unfortunately not the best. Southern food trying to make it an elegant experience it failed. The menu doesn’t match the place. I had a party of 8. I checked the menu a month out. Looks like it will be pleasing to my people. The night before. I checked the website. Looks like the menu is still good . Got here tonight and nothing I wanted was on the menu. It’s my birthday party . Everyone found something on the menu to eat. I decide to play it safe and order the appetizer salad with a smoked salmon.$15 plus $4. My bf got chicken meal. The green beans were not cooked all the way. The chicken had gravy all over it. We got the bill and they charge $30 for salad plus reg salmon. The waiter made the mistake and gave us regular salmon $15 not smoked salmon. Plus they charge $25 to cut your cake. Which we bought our own Individual desserts. We got that junk fee taken off. It’s a glorified Cracker Barrel. Never again. We left and went around the corner and got a real meal for half the price. Warning…..don’t go here unless you want to pay a mint for Cracker Barrel food.

I’m usually a tough critic, and I can always find something wrong. Not this time, from the moment we pulled in the young gentleman running valet was helpful and pleasant and the bar where we waited for our reservation time greeted us with a warm welcome and top notch drinks. My wife who can never seem to find a drink she enjoys loved the citrus blossom so much she snuck a picture of the menu so she can try to replicate it at home. Once we were seated our server, Thomas, was well informed and was an expert walking us through the menu. We had the blue grab dip to start, which was fantastic. For entrees my wife had the tilefish and I had shrimp and grits. The entrees were great, but if you leave this place without ordering the banana’s foster for dessert then that is just criminal. I spend a lot of time traveling for work and I eat at a lot of very nice places, and The Depot can go toe-to-toe with absolutely anywhere. One of the coolest things was the atmosphere and the train that still periodically runs the tracks right beside the restaurant. My only regret is we found this place 3 weeks before moving out of the area. The best place to dine in the Auburn or Columbus area!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 – A Night of Happiness and Phenomenal Food at The Depot in Auburn Visiting The Depot in Auburn was extra special for our family—because my son works there, and we had the joy of experiencing the restaurant not just as guests, but through his world. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, full of Southern charm and historic beauty. The building itself—a restored train depot—is stunning, with its open layout, rustic elegance, and inviting energy that instantly makes you feel at home. But the highlight of our evening? Knowing my son grilled our steaks in the kitchen with pride and professionalism. As a mom, it was such a meaningful experience to see him doing what he loves, surrounded by a supportive and talented team. The staff was wonderful—welcoming us like family and making sure it was a night to remember. The food, of course, was absolutely outstanding. The steaks were grilled to perfection—juicy, tender, and full of flavor. Every course was crafted with care and attention to detail. But I have to rave about the peach and corn cobbler—what a creative and delicious twist on a classic Southern dessert! The warm peaches paired with the gentle sweetness and texture of corn made for a unique and comforting finish to the meal. Don't forget the ice cream! Service was top-tier—gracious, attentive, and genuinely kind. Whether you’re a first-timer or a regular, the staff make you feel like you're part of something special. If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience in Auburn, with top-notch cuisine and heartfelt hospitality, The Depot is the place to go. And if you happen to see Michael proudly working the grill—you’ll know why this mama is beaming. ❤️

We visited while in town for a power co-op conference and had an outstanding experience. Even during a busy dinner rush, our server Christian provided amazing service—he was attentive, friendly, and had excellent recommendations. Drinks and appetizers came out quickly, and both of our meals were incredible. I had the Mediterranean seafood pot (a special that night) which was fantastic, and my husband’s steak was perfectly cooked. From the ambiance to the meal to the service, everything was over the top and absolutely amazing!

Always a wonderful dining experience. Love the oysters, seafood items change depending on availability and always impressed with the way it is prepared. Another favorite is Tapas Tuesdays ... three different choices, always different and they are GREAT!! Often a whole meal for me. Best of all, the staff make you feel like they are happy you came. Truly a local gem.

Depot has been one of my favorite restaurants in town for years, but last night was absolutely a 10/10. The service staff was kind and the food was out of this world good! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a good meal.

Barbecue restaurant
Bow & Arrow BBQ is a newly opened Texas-style BBQ joint in downtown Auburn, founded by renowned local chef David Bancroft and executive chef Caleb Fischer. The restaurant offers a mix of Tex-Mex and Southern-inspired dishes, including smoked meats and traditional sides. With an industrial yet comfortable ambiance, it's an ideal spot for weekend brunches, date nights, or casual hangouts.
My daughter and I dined here on Saturday. We had a 30-minute wait, but we enjoyed sitting outside at the picnic table until we were called. The weather was great, which made the wait even more pleasant. The food was wonderful, and the margarita was even better. The customer service was excellent. I will definitely be returning when I am in the area.

Pretty good lunch here! The portions are pretty decent as well for the price! Daughter’s kids meal was only $3, and it was big enough to take extra home. Fries and grilled cheese off her plate were very yummy and very well seasoned!! The jalapeno sausage was good, but the hash brown casserole and mac n cheese were the stars of the show. It was so good my picky baby even wanted to eat all of it! My server was very nice and mindful! Look forward to bringing hubby so that I can try the tacos next time! The only thing I can say I did not like was that my 2 ft, barely toddler was charged the same for a kiddy drink, as I was charged for regular fountain drink.

Had some good grub at the Arrow. Blake's burrito and Christina's Enchiladas. Both were excellent. Staff was friendly. Drinks were cold.

Good Brisket! Grits were good and service was ok. I wanted soft scrambled eggs but that was not an option. The over hard fried eggs were under done. It's too LOUD! But, it's not something they can control. Overall experience was good compared to the last time I was there.

Always a great experience. Whether its old school texas bbq, or a great blend of southern tex mex. This place never disappoints.

A great stop on my summer barbecue tour. I had the three meat combo. Turkey, sausage, and brisket. All were tender and the brisket was well rendered. The sides were every bit as good. We will definitely be coming back. And I did. Had the same thing for dinner this time. Every bit as good the second time around. Being able to deliver quality barbecue late into the evening is a skill.

We went up to the restaurant and made a pick up order on a Tuesday night at 730 pm. First they don’t take to go orders over the phone after 530 pm but even after us going up there having a drink at their bar while we waited they left our salsa and chips out of the bag. We went back up there to get the chips and salsa (after leaving a 10 dollar tip and 8 dollars a piece for a beer) we received a container of salsa the size of a dip cup! Like what? After having to come back up there to get it! For the price of the food and the small servings I definitely won’t be back!

They need more stars than 5. The food was EXCELLENT. Highly recommend the tacos. I had 3 different ones and I tell you what, I almost pulled back around the drive through. Didn't go into the establishment because they were extremely busy but the lad that was at the drive through pickup was extremely helpful. Gave me recommendations and was professional and sweet. I will be back again. Hopefully this time I can sit down.

This was an awesome place to eat! I loved the different portraits of Van Gogh. The food here was very good too. The chips were warm and fresh and the Pepper Jack Chicken tasted great. Our server came around to refill our drinks often and she was very polite.

Three out of 4 enjoyed the food. The grilled salmon entree and the chicken sandwich were all delicious, as were the lobster egg rolls and calamari. My husband was not pleased with the crab cake and avocado sandwich. The crabmeat did not taste fresh and the spices were a little too robust... I will add that the section we had reserved was already set up when we arrived although the floor around the table had not been swept. When my husband brought it to our server's attention he seemed to get offeneded and mentioned that they had just had a party with children there and they were "doing their best!" I guess we should have just appreciated them preparing our table and accepted that hard working people don't have to pay attention to what matters to a paying customer! There was no sign that said, hey, kids just left here so ignore the mess and enjoy your stay! It was rude and inconsiderate but the server did vacuum the area at our request... We finished with the dessert board and all 3 picks were excellent and overall, the service ended better than it started. We had been there once before and enjoyed the service and food. We will likely go back again and then decide from there if we want to continue to support this establishment, so stay tuned! ##butterflyrealtyexperts #foodie #localguides

A bit late submitting this review but wanted to make sure I got it in. Went to Amsterdam for my niece’s birthday. The atmosphere was quaint, had a nice seating area to accommodate our large family group and the service was friendly and relatively quick. Now, for the food, I wasn’t particularly thrilled with it. My wife and I got the burger with bacon and while the flavor was ok, it was very dry. Even after ordering medium well. Mine ended up being pretty well done. I’ve had much better burgers elsewhere. My mother in law got the bolognese, which was not good at all. Looks like there was hardly any sauce on it and the noodles were over cooked. My father in law got the shrimp and grits and he seemed to like them ok. We also got some of the lobster egg rolls and they tasted like they were out of a box. We also had the spinach dip which was cheesy but lacking in flavor. All you could taste was the spinach and the artichoke bit needed some more garlic. This was a first and probably last time visit for me.

We had a really nice brunch here. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We ended up splitting steak and eggs and it was huge. We pretty well devoured that and then got some blueberry cheesecake for dessert which was awesome. We will definitely go back.

This is one of my favorite places to eat for date night with my husband - which is why I also chose it for my 42nd birthday. I’m a sucker for their risotto! :) The front and back rooms have two different ambiances. I prefer the back room personally.

My daughter has been raving about Amsterdam since she’s been living down here for almost 10 years now. Every time I call on a Sunday I ask her how her weekend was and usually has to deal with a meal at Amsterdam. Now I could understand why. for a birthday celebration we came here for dinner, and it was not what I thought it was. I thought it was going to be a stuffy uptight restaurant, and it was a complete opposite. Essentially located in a semi residential area on the edge of campus. Upon walking in you’re in the older section of the restaurant, where we were seated. In back is a very nice dining area and also have an outdoor eating area. , where we were seated. In back is a very nice dining area and also have a outdoor eating area. As an appetizer, we ordered the grilled brussels sprouts and the calamari. The calamari was very good, with a Red sauce that was almost like a sweet-and-sour red sauce. Not your traditional marinara red sauce. It was very good and very tasty. The grilled brussels sprouts were delicious. Brussels sprouts were bedded over a Gorgonzola cheese, I think. I’m not a big cheese person, therefore, I try to avoid the cheese on it, but the brussels sprouts were still very good. As an entrée, I had the shrimp and grits, which was delicious and also had some of my daughter’s chicken mac & cheese. Which was very good. The mac & cheese had collard greens in it. Watch was exceptional. The flavoring was spot on. Another entrée was the salmon with mashed potatoes, which is a gluten-free. The person who had that and truly enjoyed it, and said the same was cooked perfectly. We talked about dessert, but we didn’t see anything that was too interesting, therefore we decided not to get any. Highly suggest reservations on weekends especially on game days and parent evolved weekends. Found parking literally right in front so it was not an issue, but it can’t be an issue I think. There is a lot behind Amsterdam, but it is unknown if you could park there or not no is it posted if you can or not, but there’s a lot of towing signs. If you’re In Auburn and want a Auburn traditional restaurant, highly suggest Amsterdam

Lowered to one star. Dirty oil, istg they only change it once a week. NEVER EAT FRIED FOODS TOWARDS THE END OF THE WEEK! Basically any day past wednesday and there's a 50/50 chance I start getting sick off the oil from the chicken and Mac and cheese! Also? I saw a roach running out of the kitchen one day, it blew my mind! I had it at three stars but with the grease, and now seeing a roach? It makes me think they're dirty back there. Never eating here again. I'd rather overpay acre for actually clean food!

Stopped in this morning for the first time while visiting family in the area. Had the GREATEST sausage egg and cheese biscuit I’ve ever had in my ENTIRE life! Our waitress was super sweet and tended to our minor needs greatly! Sometime in the future, I will absolutely be bringing my boyfriend to try it!!
