Park
Nestled on Needleseye Road in Oak Hill, Needleseye Park is a charming natural attraction named after the striking Needles Eye rock formation. The park boasts various natural rock features, including a two-mile-long rock wall, offering breathtaking views of the New River Gorge. Spanning 283 acres, it's an ideal spot for activities like rock climbing, bouldering, hiking, and wildlife observation.
Super chill trail - I almost want to give it a 1-star review to keep it a hidden and quiet gem. The trail is well-marked with blue blazes (some even have arrows indicating direction of travel) and goes a bit further than the 1.8 miles indicated on All-Trails (it seems closer to 2.1 miles). It’s a perfect balance of some flat areas, some elevation gain / loss, a couple of creek crossings, and good shade when hiking in the summer. While there are no wild vistas, the rock formations are very cool! One thing to keep in mind is that this area is under development - the trails will only become longer and the park more extensive with time. Take a moment to read the sign at the trailhead / parking lot as it has many of the “coming soon” features clearly outlined. We also brought our pup who had a fantastic time romping around the rock formations and playing in the creek.

What a special place! We stumbled upon this because we were looking for a nearby trail to walk off a late lunch. I wish we’d had time to walk the full loop. We only made it to Needleseye Boulder before we had to turn around to avoid the dark. We will definitely be back. Kudos to land preservation!

Fantastic park, some of the best mountain bike trails in the area and a great disc golf course. The park is all wooded, pretty much just parking lots and woods, but they were just building a small pavilion and what looks like a bathroom structure when we were there. Tons of parking, a paved lot at the top, and a large gravel lot on the side. The mtb trails are great! Well designed and constructed. This is different from Arrowhead and Wolf Creek in that they are more downhill, where the other parks are more cross country with some shorter downhill sections. This is awesome, but keep in mind you'll have to get back up that once you hit the bottom, unless you can arrange a ride back up from the bottom. This also has some of the best background while riding of any park around. Just giant boulders and cliff faces everywhere! Like other trails in the area, these are very rocky, so don't air down too much. There's lots of technical sections, switchbacks and benches along the slopes to make it more fun and add breaks on the climb back up. The signage is pretty confusing, so I'd recommend an app to help find your way. All of the trails are bikeable except the Needleseye trail. Don't bike that unless you're a technical trials bike expert! I'm an intermediate mtb rider on an entry level hardtail 27.5 and made it around fine on all the blue and green trails. The green trails are also lots of fun. They're pretty quick and still gave technical areas, just not as rocky and hilly as the blue ones. I'm very novice at disc golf, and didn't plan to play this course. It is extremely tight and unforgiving, but the underbrush is low, so in the future I would give it a shot. Also, this seems to be a great place to learn or practice rock climbing. There's lots of low boulders, and a long cliff face that varies, probably to 40' tall. The only downside here is unfortunately thorn bushes have taken over parts of the upper hiking sections past Needleseye, but the rest of the park is clear. These trails are cut back enough that you're not bushwacking. All and all, a beautiful young park for mtb, disc golf, and all wilderness enthusiasts! I wish it was closer to home!

What a wonderful place our beautiful town has prepared for us all to enjoy. This is one of the newest parks in our city located within the New River gorge National Park. Josh Sapio works hard to keep this place beautiful. Everyone go show him some love by keeping it clean

A beautiful municipal park within the city limits of Oak Hill. Ongoing development is creating a great park for the residents of Oak Hill and the citizens of Fayette County. Ongoing development from the City currently includes an awesome trail into the western territory of the park marked by Blue blazes and side trails marked by White blazes. Hiking, dog walking, bird watching and nature viewing is great. Bike trails, a restroom facility, enhanced parking and an 18 hole disc golf course is soon to come. Also, climbing and bouldering is great!

Don't waste your time. The first part is a jeep trail then a sketchy, poorly marked trail. Only a couple orange arrows painted on trees. No views and definitely no waterfalls. Here is the eye for you so you don't waste your time.

Fun environment especially for kids to climb and play. Gave 5 stars because you can see the work going into this project.

What an amazing place to have a disc golf course! Thank you Alison for all you do.

One of my favorite courses. Great variety of holes and shots. Nice park area. You can tell a lot of hard work was put into this disc golf course. I remember what the park was like in the past. Really incredible to see the changes today
Trailblazer — Google review
Average course. Need better detailed map.
Steve A — Google review
Well marked and has tee pads. Heavy briars on about half of the holes, and hole 2 is on a very steep hillside with a gully at bottom making for lots of disc rolls. I'll play the course in the winter because it's close to my home, when I can barely navigate the briars, but I skip hole 2 even then. Tired of climbing down into that gully. I don't play it in the summer, the briars are just too thick. Rest of the course is fun. 3 open holes rest are wooded, brushy.
Joe J — Google review
Fun 9 hole disc golf course! Fun wooded holes that require tunnel shots and good placement. Quiet and enjoyable! Park seemed to be in good shape and saw several people enjoying the day.

Has a great park and had fun. Didn't sign our name on the list. Good for people who need to learn distance or just learn how to play. Either way watch out for the curves and hills. Can be tricky.

This was a great concert, but if you go for a concert you better get there early! If you don't you'll have to stand far away! You can still hear everything good enough but I watched through my camera while taking a video.

The playground is new and wonderful, but they need to extend the fencing to where kids won't make it out into traffic so easily. Also, they have a new handicapped-capable swing that is missing the main part to hold someone that's handicapped. It definitely defeats the purpose of having the swing in the first place.

We were staying here at the lodge and had some food and drinks. The bartender was alert to our needs and kept the drinks coming. The hamburgers and hot wings were good and prices were reasonable. I played a game of pool 🎱 to keep in practice. The place was nice and friendly no problems at all. Just a relaxing 😎 evening

Ok this is a dive bar but we had so much fun! Drink selection is decent and the people there are so nice. No idea if they have food available. We had an 11 dude bachelor party staying in the attached hotel, and everyone there was happy to have us! Fun!
Bill T — Google review
The manager of the bar is terrible. He himself charges significantly more for drinks than the other bartenders and more than the ACTUAL price of the drink. Please do not be waited on by any male in the bar as you will suffer a surcharge. The other ladies who work there are phenomenal. Unfortunately the bar is ruined by the manager.

LOVE this spot! 100% best bowling and entertainment in southern West Virginia! If you’re looking for indoor fun and fellowship in the New River Gorge, this is the place (although they also have a DOPE patio! Gluten free options and killer food/drinks. Worthy of an order independent of the bowling!

Best experience I've had in years of going bowling happy I got to experience this place with my family, great food, amazing staff, and VERY clean from parking lot to the bathrooms, not one trash item found. The food was outstanding, and the prices are well put for what everything was worth from the food to the staff was awesome thank you for letting us have a good time at your bowling alley! I haven't revisited this place since high-school it's all newly built and new owners. I had a blast with my family for Thanksgiving break, bringing them where I grew up as a teenager. Haven't been in this building since White Oak Lanes, by the way. For sure, a 5/5 rating for their hard work and keeping the place spotless no matter how packed it was. You guys are the best. Keep up the hard work, honestly!

My ex wife and i came here to spend some quality time with our son, good beer and nice atmosphere but it went sour when i “chucked” a bowling ball at my sons head and made him cry. i didn’t even toss it hard. she got full custody after that. good food.

Always a pleasure to stop by pinheads. Local secret… they have the beat pizza in town! The staff is super friendly. Even if you’re not bowling, it’s totally worth the stop for the great food, chill atmosphere, and good draft beer selection!

Restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Oak Hill, Café One Ten is a beloved casual dining spot that serves up hearty portions of classic American and regional dishes. With an impressive selection of eighteen burgers and sandwiches, including unique options like the blackened catfish sandwich and the fried green tomato BLT, there's something to satisfy every palate. The menu also features tantalizing pasta dishes, flatbread pizzas, and a variety of meat and seafood entrees.
Great spot for lunch. It is a little pricey, but the food is worth it. I had a very good bowl of broccoli cheese soup as well as a burger and chips. Their chips taste homemade, not some crappy stuff from a bag. The service was excellent, although I was there late in the afternoon and there weren't too many other tables. Great find!

Stopped in for dinner on a Wednesday and I wasn’t even sure if it was open because there was no one in there. So glad we went in!! We started off with the fries, then I got the buffalo Mac and cheese and my husband got the bbq pulled pork. Everything came out piping hot and in big portions. It was also all soooo good!! I had enough leftover for two more meals. The side salad was a perfect size. Most places the salads are big enough to have as a stand alone meal. The atmosphere was quiet but kind of boring. Overall I think it’s a great little hidden gem
Stephanie W — Google review
Really wanted to love it. The house chips appetizer was really good. The fries were very well salted and cooked well. The deep fries sandwich was a total miss for us. The batter/bread was way too thick and drowned out all flavor. The onion rings had 10/10 potential but were devoid of salt. The patty melt was pretty good, but needed more sauce to balance it. Restaurant was really dark and one of the servers was an absolute train wreck. Our server was excellent though. Clearly the highlight of the meal Pricing was extremely fair and the food came out fast.
Jack H — Google review
This was down the street from our Airbnb and had really good reviews and I can see why. The prices are very reasonable, the portion was very sizable and I just loved my salmon patties. I haven’t had them for years and I feel like I will now crave these. My friend loved her hotdog and her chips were fantastic. The only complaint I had is the french fries were really soggy. The food came out extremely fast and Service was very prompt. The atmosphere is very simple. I would definitely come back here again.
Ninette — Google review
We went to meet friends for dinner. They told us there wasn't anything on the menu that was bad. They were correct. I had the fried green tomato but and my husband had the one ten burger. They were both delicious. They also make their own chips. Best I've eaten. The only complaint I could make mention of, and it's so minute I shouldn't, is there wasn't enough of the fried green tomato. I had more bites of bread and spicy mayo than tomato. There was ample amounts of bacon and it was fried perfectly. The wait staff was friendly and helpful.
Heather W — Google review
Great food! Onion rings were fantastic! So was my blackened catfish sandwich. BLT and chicken tenders were great too! Very friendly and quick service with reasonable prices.
Todd A — Google review
Nice place to stop and grab a quick bite. Prices are decent. The food was pretty good. I ordered the Blackened Catfish Sandwich and my wife ordered a Patty Melt. We would both order these dishes again, but there are other great menu choices. One thing we noticed is that they don't serve breakfast all day. According to the description it's a great place for breakfast. I'm confused, but it's ok. We're definitely going to be back soon.
David H — Google review
First time eating here but won't be the last. The food was tasty and the service was great. Our waitress was friendly and personable. The food was cooked perfectly and was so flavorful. You could tell the recipes were simple but so good. The fried green tomatoes were my favorite and were cooked just the way my daddy used to.

Mexican restaurant
El Rio is a great place to enjoy authentic Mexican food and a welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant offers tasty food and drinks at reasonable prices, making it perfect for dining with family, friends, or larger groups. The waitstaff provides excellent service, ensuring that drinks are always filled and needs are met. Customers appreciate the generous portions of food and the friendly staff. The decor adds to the overall experience, creating a cute and relaxing ambiance.
We are new to the area, so we're getting to know the restaurants around us. We heard good things about El Rio, so we gave it a try. Whenever we try a new Mexican food place, we get the fajitas so we can compare to other places. El Rio didn't disappoint. In fact, they win as the best fajitas place around this area. We've come back a couple times. They are consistent and the food tasted the same every time.
David H — Google review
Very good, authentic Mexican food with good service in a casual setting. Plenty of parking. Full bar and draught beer. Plenty of parking. Great guacamole.
Chip — Google review
It was every time we came the shells was fresh n crispy but here lately they must be microwave the dish before sending out past couple times the shells are like rubber !! My only complaint!!
David D — Google review
The food, service, and atmosphere here are as good as I've had at a Mexican restaurant. The complimentary chips and salsa and the loaded nachos were excellent. They made a molcajete specially for me...it was fabulous. Prices are good and they keep the place clean and authentic looking. I wouldn't think twice about going again. They also have a great selection of tequila, if you're a connoisseur
Jon P — Google review
Very mediocre Mexican restaurant. Had to ask for hot sauce twice, waiter rarely came around, hardly any alcohol in the margaritas, and the food was bland. The interior was pretty cool. About the only interesting point about this place.
Victory V — Google review
Fun decor with hand painted art and unique lighting. (giant flower-like chandeliers) The place was mostly empty when we went (3pm on a wednesday) We were seated immediately, and was given excellent attention from our waiter. The food was excellent, fresh looking food and the food was played with care. I had the fajitas and it was both sizzling and delicious. The lunch portions are available all day long (for a $2 up charge outside lunch hours) which provide a nice sized portion for those not wanting a heap of food. My only complaint was with the guacamole that was served with the chips. It didn't have the fresh green glow I was expecting, but rather a more dull faded green instead. Still tasted ok, but not that Lime-fresh we were expecting. You pay at the front counter where you can purchase small candies (this was a hit with the kiddos) If you are in the area and hungry (A little or a lot) then give this place a shot.
Brandon B — Google review
Great service, tasty food & drinks, perfect place for any time meal with Family, Friends & *others. Portions are plenty. Prices are reasonable. Waitstaff is great. They keep drinks filled & needs are met. Plenty of space for a small group. Highly recommend El Rio to anyone looking for authentic Mexican food and atmosphere. I'm looking forward to my next visit. Their steak and shrimp is the best around! YummY!

Chinese restaurant
Nestled in Fayette Square, Oak Hill, West Virginia, OK Chinese Buffet has been delighting diners since 1996 with its commitment to authentic Chinese cuisine. Spanning over 4,000 square feet and accommodating up to 134 guests at once, this charming eatery offers a warm atmosphere that enhances the dining experience. Patrons rave about the fresh lo mein—often described as the best they've ever tasted at a buffet—and appreciate the generous service from friendly staff who go above and beyond.
I’m a Chinese American, and I don’t usually eat Chinese fast food anymore since I’m over 40 and pretty picky about food. But boy, oh boy—this place really surprised me in several ways! 1. Cleanliness: It’s one of the cleanest restaurants I’ve ever been to. 2. Value: The price is amazing for a buffet, even though the selection is limited. At just $13 after tax, you can’t even get a McDonald’s combo in New York for that. 3. Service: Absolutely flawless. I was shocked—the waitress was so nice and attentive. Most Chinese restaurants in the U.S. usually have that “take it or leave it—but make sure the tip is decent” attitude, but not this one.
Peter S — Google review
Food/Taste/Flavor: 2/5 - ordered House Special Fried Rice (#31). It looked like they grabbed some fried rice from the buffet and added more proteins in it. The shrimp and chicken tasted like they're frozen items that were just boiled and tossed into the rice so they were terrible. The flavor was lacking other than a soy sauce based. Service: 5/5 - a buffet location but since the options were fairly few, we decided to order a fried rice dish to go instead. Slight language barrier but friendly overall Ambiance: n/a - ordered food to go Value for price: 2/5 - not worth for the price as the food is not good and it's such a small portion. Wouldn't even label this place as just OK...
Sbbcampervan — Google review
This is the only Asian buffet restaurant I could find near Summerville Lake. The buffet selections are limited for a buffet, but I can’t complain because the price is really inexpensive — only $25 for two people with drinks included, which is much cheaper compared to the DMV area. If you’re just looking for a basic food menu, then this is the place. They use disposable paper plates and cups, so no service is really needed — it’s all self-service. Overall, it’s not a bad restaurant, but the food options are very limited. The only downside is that there are no vegetables. Other than that, I don’t have much to complain about
Remy T — Google review
I really don't like leaving small businesses bad reviews, but the food here was absolutely not good. Everything on the buffet looks like it has sat for a significant amount of time and was very much overcooked. Beyond that, it was all incredibly sweet and syrupy. Food was to be eaten from Styrofoam plates. One very small buffet table with limited selections. I understand this is not in a very densely populated area, but still seemed to be pretty lacking. Follow for more...
Mark D — Google review
i go to this restaurant anytime that we can. the service is always amazing, some of the sweetest people i have ever met. the food stays warm, always hits the spot after a long day, and you can smell it as soon as you open the door. i honestly love the fact that they have you eat off of styrofoam plates, it feels like you are right at home. payment upfront confirms you can eat as much as you need/want. this spot isn’t gonna be everyone’s cup of tea, but it sure is mine. <3
Briley C — Google review
The restaurant has seem better days. They require payment upfront, they use Styrofoam plates, and only one bar has food. The service was good but that could be due to only having two customers in the building.
Kyle B — Google review
This place was sooooo good, and very clean. The people are great, service was great as well. They serve some of the best chinese food I've ever eaten. Their selection wasn't huge for lunch but that was fine by me. I'll definitely be back soon

Been frequenting this restaurant since it opened however it had been a long time since my last visit. And it will probably be a long time till my next. Food was OK only one hot bar of food the second bar was being used to store all of the paper plates (on top), the environment of the restaurant was bleak and cheap. Paper plates, plastic forks, Styrofoam cups (that I had to fill myself) for the price what was provided was far cheaper than expected.
