Our first white water rafting trip was an absolute blast, exceeding all expectations! From start to finish, the experience was incredibly well-organized and thoroughly enjoyable. A huge part of what made it so special were our exceptional guides. Their expertise and enthusiasm were infectious, immediately putting everyone at ease, even those of us who were a little nervous at first. Fox was our raft guide and his knowledge of the river was impressive and he ensured our safety while maximizing the thrill. Beyond the adrenaline rush, the trip was surprisingly informative. Fox and Tammy shared fascinating insights about the local ecology, geology, and history of the area. Our children (ages 7 and 8) absolutely loved it! Fox was fantastic with them, making sure they felt safe and engaged throughout the trip. He even taught them some fun facts about the river. It was a wonderful family bonding experience that we'll cherish forever. And let's not forget the lunch! We were treated to a delicious and satisfying meal. Overall, our white water rafting trip was an unforgettable adventure and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, educational, and memorable outdoor experience!
We did the Half day Lower river trip and had the BEST time. Great trip for a beginner like me, perfect mix of fun and challenging. Plus the incredible views the entire time. The entire staff was amazing! Super knowledgeable & safety oriented, but also so down to earth and fun to be around which made the day even better! Big shout out to our guide Laney B. she was awesome!!
We did the zip line course with our 2 sons ages 11 and 12 and we ALL loved it! It was fun, challenging and perfect for our thrill seeking adventure spirits! Our guides Ryan and Stevie kept us safe and explained everything in detail on each platform. We can’t wait to come back in the summer and swim in the lake and take boys white water rafting. Thank you again for everything Ace team, we will be back!
After traveling through 48 states and visiting 49 national parks, we’ve been to some incredible destinations, but nothing tops the experiences we’ve had at ACE Adventure Resort. At ACE we had the opportunity to zipline above the New River Gorge, climb real rock walls, rappel off cliffs, take on the aerial adventure course, go whitewater rafting, and spend hours having a blast on the giant inflatable WIBIT. We watched our kids face fears, build confidence, cheer each other on, and create memories they will never forget. What truly sets ACE apart are the guides. They’re patient, encouraging, and incredibly skilled at ensuring adventures are fun for everyone. Staying onsite makes the experience even better, being just steps away from your adventures, whether you bring an RV, pitch a tent, or stay in one of their many cabins. While you’re here, you can also experience the beauty of West Virginia and explore New River Gorge National Park which is just a short drive away. It’s the perfect place for your next family vacation!
Simply put one of the best adventures of my life and some of the most fun I've ever had! I was part of a 14 person bachelor party group for the Upper Gauley with various rafting experience and we all had the best time! My boat was a 4 person 12ft raft led by Ace guide Chris Davis. 3 out of the 4 people in our raft had done the lower Gauley a few years back and told Chris we were looking to do as much as we could for the upper Gauley, boy did he deliver! Chris made it a priority to show us every thrilling feature of the river while making sure we still stayed safe. I would recommend Ace and Chris to anyone looking to conquer the Upper Gauley. We'll be back for sure!
A friend and I celebrate our birthdays every year by doing something new and exciting. This year in addition to hiking we did the Zip Line tour. Amazing. Ross was a fabulous guide and put me at ease immediately. Haylie was equally as fabulous. They were knowledgeable and funny. I would recommend this to anyone looking for some fun and adventure.
We had an AMAZING time rafting with ace! Dune was our guide and Zach was our trip leader. Zach was super cool and friendly. So was Dune, and he kept us safe on the raft. Craziest rafting I’ve ever done, I’m glad I went with ace. The lunch they served was pretty good too! Hope to be back again ❤️
We had the BEST TIME with our raft guide, Scotty O, during the lower new river half day trip. He was very knowledgeable and made us all feel very safe. We also had so much fun with Scotty. He really is the best guide ever. Had so much fun and will definitely be back and request him again.

The campground was quite nice. Stayed in the luxury cabins with my friends and there was plenty of room. Covered front and back porches as well as ample seating inside and out. Our guide, think his name was Dillon, was great. Joked and laughed with us as well as talked about what we would be going through. Quick and to the point with directions, didn't get overbearing with commands, and kept a calm attitude. Very knowledgeable regarding the river and knew how to position the raft for the maximum fun. Have already talked about making another group trip out.
A pretty exciting trip, this was our first time doing class 5 rapids on the Lower New trip. Several in our group were new and they enjoyed it too, but this did take a lot more effort than a class 2 or 3 trip. Very rewarding though! Paul was our guide, he was excellent. A great entertainer and had plenty of stories about West Virginia. Free sodas or PBR beer at the end, which was a very nice chance to chat with the crew.
This was our third year rafting with River Expeditions, and once again, it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The company is so easy to book with and very accommodating—they make planning effortless, even for a group like ours with a mix of newbies and returning thrill-seekers. Our guide, Scott Moore, is the absolute best. We request him every year because he makes the experience unforgettable. Scott's expertise, confidence, and calm demeanor instantly put everyone at ease. Whether you're craving adventure or a more relaxed ride, he tailors the experience perfectly. He truly looks out for our entire crew—family and friends alike—and goes above and beyond to ensure we’re safe, laughing, and loving every second on the water. After the rapids, be sure to stop by the Red Dog Saloon right on-site. It’s the perfect place to unwind with a cold drink and a great bite to eat. The atmosphere is laid back and fun—just what you need after a day of adventure. River Expeditions has become a tradition for us, and our guide is a big reason why. Already looking forward to next year’s trip! Highly recommend—10/10. Book the trip, and if you can, book it with Scott!
We just rafted last year, but we camped for two nights and rafted on Saturday this time. Employee interaction was great, and the Red Dog Saloon is perfect. Cold beers, lots of seating and bar food. Thanks for the good service, Bethel. John is a guide and was there Friday night. He had great information for a variety of topics. Very good advocate for the company and overall was helpful and friendly to every guest and coworker. Chris was the bus leader/instruction giver on the way down. The other guides were fun and knowledgeable and everyone had a great time. Can't wait to come back next year!
Went here with our scout group from Summit Bechtel to do whitewater rafting. The trip was very smooth and organized and we felt very safe even on the Class 5s. Scott M was the most amazing guide. Very nice, kept us safe, and made us laugh. Would recommend requesting him as your guide.
We didn't stay on site but we took an upper river rafting trip. The staff was amazing and friendly, the trip was very well organized and efficient. We took "duckies" instead of the raft, each adult had a kid under 10 with us in the kayak. The entire trip was a blast, with one moment where the water won and we became "duck soup" tipping into the river. While that was a more adventurous moment than we expected the tour guides were wonderful and fished us out in the water in no time. They had prepared us well. Even with violent toss into the river we all had a great time. Kids included.
Carla is pure ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ magic! Without her expertise, sharp advice, and humorous personality, our adventure would’ve been a completely different story—probably one with far fewer smiles. We actually chose your company for one big reason: kindness. From the start, you stood out as the friendliest, most genuine option, and Carla proved we made the right call. She was truly a God-send, guiding us through the exciting parts and giving us the heads-up on where to keep our eyes (and rowing) sharp. Now… about that bus ride. Let’s just say it made Class V rapids feel like a kiddie splash pool. While we’re certain our driver is highly skilled, his approach could benefit from being a bit more careful. Safety is the only thing that could possibly make this amazing adventure even better. Thanks for the memories, Carla—you’re unforgettable. And big shoutout to ET for catching all the fun on camera!
We went on the Lower New River rafting with RE, we didn't stay here but it looked very well kept. The rafting was fantastic, our guide Bryar was very knowledgeable and experienced. He kept the vibes high and we were lucky to have him as our guide. We will most definitely be returning in the future.

Def the highlight of our trip to the area! Bill was awesome at explaining everything and what to expect. Had the best flight ... the acrobatics were top notch!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our stay at The Aviator’s Lounge was absolutely unforgettable! The home is beautiful—luxurious, super clean, and thoughtfully themed, with plenty of space for our family of four. The swimming pool and hot tub were perfect for relaxing, and the home itself sits above an impeccably maintained airplane hangar that felt like a hidden oasis. The highlight of our trip was flying in the vintage Boeing Stearman biplane from the 1940s. Bill, an incredibly talented and reassuring pilot, made sure our two boys (and us parents!) felt safe and excited for the adventure. Ashley did a fantastic job coordinating every detail and made sure we were fully prepared for the experience. Bill and Ashley went above and beyond to make our stay special, and we truly enjoyed every minute. We’re already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking to create lifelong memories—buy the ticket, take the ride!
I have been going to Bridge Day for 15 years to jump and take people on tandem BASE jumps. I’ve always wanted to go fly with these guys and I finally got to. Bill and his wife are amazing people. I felt like a giggly little kid on the flight. We did barrel rolls, hammer heads, loops and all kinds of maneuvers. You guys it was so damn fun! I would highly recommend going for a flight. The views are amazing and the bridge looks cool from up there.
An unforgettable ride! Bill took me and my friends on four epic 20 minute biplane rides. It was absolutely exhilarating from start to finish. My face hurt from smiling by the time we landed, it is an experience I’ll never forget. Bill’s skill and enthusiasm made the whole thing even better, it was clear we were in great hands. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for an adventure that’s truly one of a kind.
Bill and Ashley, thank you for keeping history alive with your beautifully restored and maintained Stearman biplane, and thank you for making history come to life for those of us lucky enough to experience one of your flights. I really enjoyed the whole thing, start to finish. It was a Fathers Day gift I will never forget.
Wow ! It took us 3 attempts to get on the schedule, worth the wait . Very informative, history of plane , places flown over . I challenge all to do this , if you don't, you'll regret it. The loops, slides, and the bullhead are the best feelings ever. This was on my bucket list. I think I'll add it 10 more times. Riding in the WWII Stearman , WOW!!! Bill and Ashley keep spreading the dreams !
Such an amazing time and special experience. I loved getting to meet the owners and hear the history of the plane and how they take such pride in what they do. Bill is a phenomenal pilot who engages so well with you during the flight making the experience one of a kind. The beauty of the land to the flips and tricks of the flight. It's a must do!!
I purchased this flight for my husband's 65th birthday. He loved it.!!! The owners are top notch!!!! We live local and have always been interested.. I say, just do it!!!!! You will not be disappointed!!!! I would definitely recommend to any adventure seeker.

Great playground structures for kids to play on!
Nice playground with multiple pieces of equipment and swings. Also not super crowded. The only downfall was the bathrooms were very dirty. The toilet hadn't been cleaned in a long time, no toilet paper, and no hand soap.
I love taking my 2 year old granddaughter here it has a lot of riding toys and baby swings they also have a pool membership only of course
Conveniently located right off the White Oak Rail Trail. Clean public restrooms and handicap accessible.
Nice place to take your kids they have done a lot there to improve the grounds.
Great place to just chill and relax. Good place to take a walk as well.
Great place for all ages to walk or ride bicycles... benches for others to rest...

We were staying here at the lodge and had some food and drinks. The bartender was alert to our needs and kept the drinks coming. The hamburgers and hot wings were good and prices were reasonable. I played a game of pool 🎱 to keep in practice. The place was nice and friendly no problems at all. Just a relaxing 😎 evening
Ok this is a dive bar but we had so much fun! Drink selection is decent and the people there are so nice. No idea if they have food available. We had an 11 dude bachelor party staying in the attached hotel, and everyone there was happy to have us! Fun!
The manager of the bar is terrible. He himself charges significantly more for drinks than the other bartenders and more than the ACTUAL price of the drink. Please do not be waited on by any male in the bar as you will suffer a surcharge. The other ladies who work there are phenomenal. Unfortunately the bar is ruined by the manager.
Very nice Lounge connected to the Holiday Lodge hotel...Drinks are reasonable and they have a couple pool tables and the music is nice...good place to hang out!
Nice addition to the hotel. Good bar food and good atmosphere. Pool tables and DJ spinning plenty of dance music.
DELICIOUS hot wings!!!! They have pool tables and karaoke. Had multiple great nights drinking, eating and making new friends with the regulars
Drive 8hrs to come out to WV. This little bar in the hotel is a great little night cap.
Small, cozy. They allow smoking in the bar area. Serve bar food. Tasty. Staff friendly.

What an amazing place to have a disc golf course! Thank you Alison for all you do.
One of my favorite courses. Great variety of holes and shots. Nice park area. You can tell a lot of hard work was put into this disc golf course. I remember what the park was like in the past. Really incredible to see the changes today
Average course. Need better detailed map.
Well marked and has tee pads. Heavy briars on about half of the holes, and hole 2 is on a very steep hillside with a gully at bottom making for lots of disc rolls. I'll play the course in the winter because it's close to my home, when I can barely navigate the briars, but I skip hole 2 even then. Tired of climbing down into that gully. I don't play it in the summer, the briars are just too thick. Rest of the course is fun. 3 open holes rest are wooded, brushy.
Fun 9 hole disc golf course! Fun wooded holes that require tunnel shots and good placement. Quiet and enjoyable! Park seemed to be in good shape and saw several people enjoying the day.
Really nice wooded hilly course
Beautiful park.. Hard game to walk up hill, down hill.
Has a great park and had fun. Didn't sign our name on the list. Good for people who need to learn distance or just learn how to play. Either way watch out for the curves and hills. Can be tricky.

LOVE this spot! 100% best bowling and entertainment in southern West Virginia! If you’re looking for indoor fun and fellowship in the New River Gorge, this is the place (although they also have a DOPE patio! Gluten free options and killer food/drinks. Worthy of an order independent of the bowling!
Best experience I've had in years of going bowling happy I got to experience this place with my family, great food, amazing staff, and VERY clean from parking lot to the bathrooms, not one trash item found. The food was outstanding, and the prices are well put for what everything was worth from the food to the staff was awesome thank you for letting us have a good time at your bowling alley! I haven't revisited this place since high-school it's all newly built and new owners. I had a blast with my family for Thanksgiving break, bringing them where I grew up as a teenager. Haven't been in this building since White Oak Lanes, by the way. For sure, a 5/5 rating for their hard work and keeping the place spotless no matter how packed it was. You guys are the best. Keep up the hard work, honestly!
My ex wife and i came here to spend some quality time with our son, good beer and nice atmosphere but it went sour when i “chucked” a bowling ball at my sons head and made him cry. i didn’t even toss it hard. she got full custody after that. good food.
Always a pleasure to stop by pinheads. Local secret… they have the beat pizza in town! The staff is super friendly. Even if you’re not bowling, it’s totally worth the stop for the great food, chill atmosphere, and good draft beer selection!
Our first visit! We had fun and would like to return someday.
Awesome partnership with the Fayette County Prevention Coalition to let the youth paint a mural on the side of the building! Businesses that engage youth in positive engagement opportunities are number ONE in my book! Thanks to you all!!
We love pinheads! Always so much fun. Clean lanes, lots of room to play and the food is amazing!
Went on a rainy day on vacation for two dollar Tuesdays. Great spot! Staff is great especially the manager behind the bar. She’s awesome! Food was great and the beer was crazy cheap. Excellent experience!

This is the absolutely best Walmart I have shopped at in a long time. The customer service was outstanding. Everyone was working really hard and the store was very clean. There wasn't one worker that didn't treat us with kindness. They were very knowledgeable and just overall great experience. Nothing like the horrible Walmart's in South Carolina. Great job! Makes me want to move to WV. Whoever said that the south has better hospitality; has never lived in Beaufort/Hilton Head area.
I enjoy shopping at all Walmarts but now I'm handicap every time I go I can't shop because there's no scooters I have complained a lot about this but no one cares
Lost my keys (key fob) tonight. I accidentally left them under the plastic flap/seat part in a buggy. Call the store nobody answered the phone until the 3rd call. Was told they will roll the cameras back and check. Asked what I was wearing and how I look and description of my keys. I drove back to the store. Now the lady says “nobody’s there to check the cameras”. Then also says “the cameras aren’t great quality anyways and probably you wont see keys anyways”. Not worried about helping anyone to find something. I guess since the cameras aren’t great quality they don’t pick up the stores property being stolen from the store it’s self?
We placed an express delivery order for a few important items. This order was placed in an available time slot listed on the ordering page. Our order was never delivered. The store closed and no notification was given that our order would not be filled. Thankfully we were able to cancel the order and get a refund after speaking to a nice customer support representative. I would appreciate it if the store would only list delivery times that they actually intend to fulfill. We were forced to go without important items due to how this store handles express deliveries.
Nicest Walmart I've ever visited. Walmarts where I come from are no where near this quality.
Mixed reviews. Auto did great job replacing tires but inside Waart was dangerous as some people either didn't wear a mask at all or wore it under their nose. Even employees!
Love 'em or hate 'em... there is always one handy. I just needed a couple of items, so being in the immediate area it saved me a trip to my own local Walmart.
Bought mulch for me and my wifes yard to make it beautiful. Still looking for flowers to plant. And we found a very good deal on our metal storage shed and just love its size and its look. Now im not getting yelled at to move my tools or in the way working on projects in the home i just do them in my shed now by Ezee Shed 6 x 5
