Southern restaurant (US)
Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar offers a diverse menu of Southern comfort food with a modern twist, alongside an array of craft beers and cocktails. With multiple locations across the U.S., this eatery originated in Asheville, NC in 2000 and has since become renowned for its scratch-made Southern cuisine. Led by Chef Eric Gabrynowicz, the restaurant is celebrated for reviving classic dishes with a healthy spin.
First full day of exploring Asheville and we stopped here for lunch. Placed was packed and we didn’t have reservations, but thankfully there was a cancellation and we got right in! James our server was so nice and friendly! We’ve seen good things on YouTube about this place and it did not disappoint. We ate the biscuits before I could get a photo, but they were a great starter along with the fried green tomatoes! Our meals were all delicious and my wife loved her specialty moonshine martini! Thanks!

Fun place to have cocktails and food. Met clients here for dinner and we sat on the patio. Watching the people walk around the square was as much fun as the meal. My clients choose chicken tenders and the sweet & spicy chicken and waffles, I chose the whiskey and onion smash burger. Also had an order of the fried pickles Portions are good, the food was all delicious. The sweet & spicy chicken had a nice kick with flavor not just heat. The pickles were super crispy and the burger juicy with a bit of a smoky flavor from the whisky. Service was quick, friendly and fun.

We arrived for a late Saturday evening dinner. The atmosphere is phenomenally inviting and indicative of a country kitchen. The service was well above part despite it being a busier than expected late night for the waitstaff. The hostess stand and line to be seated however leaves something to be desired, and that process should be improved. We arrived with a reservation and several other diners that arrived after us without reservations were sat before us. That was the only blip on an otherwise very enjoyable dinner. The menu was varied and provided good portions and value. We sampled over a half dozen different main and side dishes. Standouts included the sweet potato pancake, the crispy brussels and the smothered chicken. Also, the biscuits with a variety of butters and jams were an amazing introduction, and also benefit the Hurricane Helene relief effort. The standout of the show however was the grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup. Far and away the best tomato soup we’ve ever had, even if you’re not a fan of the dish, it’s worth a try. We would revisit again.

The staff at Tupelo were amazing on what seemed like a very busy Sunday evening. Everyone was pitching in to clear tables, get guests seated, and treated everyone with a welcoming disposition. Food was amazing too! Great service, great food, and great atmosphere!

I came here on my birthday looking at the many reviews but was utterly disappointed! I am not sure if this was lack of service or skills or plain racism because tables beside us were being served pretty well and respectfully. We didn’t feel welcomed from the get go. At the end of the day, they aren’t offering a free meal. Absolutely sad and disgraceful to see such racist behavior in 2025! Do better! First impression - restaurant looks a bit dated, however that can be overlooked. The smell of fried food is everywhere and is stuck to the clothes and came out smelling like a fried chicken. Please get a better exhaust! Was sat at a table but we were ignored for more than 25 minutes with no service. No water for the table. Appetizer arrived 15 minutes later - fried tomatoes - it was good. Still No water offered despite reminder. Mains arrived - Asheville hot chicken and chicken tenders - again it was good. No water offered again. The waiter for our table only stopped by once to get the food in. The tables around us were well tended to, because they were white ? Never again! I am going give my money to a racist business!

We had a really great meal at Tupelo Honey! We had a group of 9 so I made reservations. We were immediately seated when we arrived. We had a great server. He told us the best items on the menu. Several of us shared a few dishes. The dusted honey chicken was outstanding. So juicy, but then the flavor from the outside was fantastic. Fried green tomatoes, shrimp & grits, and the biscuits were some of our other favorites. It's loud and energetic in the restaurant, but there are spaces you could be seated if you want it a little quieter.
Lena B — Google review
Great experience! I had the chicken and waffles and the rest of our party had the sweet & spicy chicken sandwich, tomato soup, and chicken Cesar salad. We also started with the biscuits and they were incredible. Try the peach jam with them. The food was awesome but I am always most motivated to leave a great review when the service excels and this trip it did! Incredible, polite and attentive and it was very busy! Thanks Kari.

The wait staff was exceptional. The food was fantastic & would have received 5 stars except that the soup for both of us was less than optimal temperature & had to be reheated. I wish I had ordered the bowl instead of the cup!

Spanish restaurant
Cocktail bar
Cúrate is a high-end Spanish restaurant and cocktail bar located in Asheville, North Carolina. It has been recognized as one of the top dining establishments in the area, contributing to Asheville's vibrant food scene since its opening in 2011. The restaurant offers a menu featuring a variety of Spanish tapas and European dishes, along with an extensive selection of cocktails. Cúrate is owned by Katie Button, a renowned chef who has received accolades such as the James Beard Award.
I am probably just echoing the masses here, but wow! Every dish was exceptional! Portion sizes are very large. The two of us split 5 and couldn’t finish it all. The bread with tomato and add on manchego was the peak of simple perfection. The eggplant with honey was a delightful surprise of sweet and crispy that could almost pass for dessert. But make no mistake, the cheesecake will be the most amazing discovery. Insanely creamy with a hint of caramel from the edges and tang from the goat cheese, it is hands down the best you will ever have. It is perfect for people who don’t like overly sweet or cloying things at the end of a meal. Our server was knowledgeable and excited to share info about each course. It is a true education in tapas. You will leave very full and so happy. It is worth it!
Emily D — Google review
Stopped in Cúrate for some tapas. I tried a couple small plates (circled on my menu in the pic) they were both amazing and paired well together as suggested by my server who also suggested a great wine pairing. I even got a little desert for my birthday. The place was packed so must mean it’s good!! If you like a tapas experience, you should stop in.
Katiya P — Google review
I was pleasantly surprised with the cuisine. Being a native, one is challenged by a discerning palate and it is tough on the restaurateurs. We had croquetas de jamón, rabas or calamares a la romana, gambas al ajillo, tortilla española, chistorras, fideuá negra, pimientos de piquillo rellenos and more. We went twice as both my friend and I were impressed with the chef's talent. Definitely would return, Not too sure about the Gambas as they were more in a lemon sauce rather than olive oil. BTW the oil there is a connoisseur's delight. Enjoy.
S. D — Google review
It's as good as all the reviews say. A great anniversary dinner with some amazing food - with many local ingredients. All of the tapas were good with some being memorable. The octopus was the best I've ever had. I had a farmers cheese, candied walnut and dill dessert that was simply amazing. I still think about it. Our server was Caroll (spelled that way on the ticket) was incredible. She gave us great recommendations, she knew how everything was prepared and complemented each other, and had stories of how most of the food was sourced. They are the sole importers of a lite buttery Spanish olive oil by a cooperative that is trying to save 100 year old abandoned olive groves in Spain. The table next to us told us they have never seen such an amazing server. The entire staff was excellent, but she was the model of a great server!

The service was above and beyond—everyone was attentive and friendly. The food itself was a bit of a hit or miss depending on what you order. The paella, while flavorful, felt overpriced at $26 considering the portion size. On the other hand, the ham bocadillo at $12 was a much better choice. We shared several dishes to try more of the menu: lomo de bellota, papas bravas, pulpo a la gallega, lamb skewers, and croquetas de jamón. Unfortunately, all of our food arrived at room temperature, which was disappointing since the dishes would’ve tasted much better served hot. Overall, great service and a nice experience, but some dishes stood out more than others.

Kelsey - our server at the bar was amazing! She was so kind, made sure we had the best experience- even brought out some extra sauces- was attentive and took an honest interest in us and provided truly helpful recommendations. Get the tangy sauce!! FOOD- so fresh and beautifully presented! Absolutely delicious and we will be back. It’s season- so highly recommend reservations as they are always packed.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cúrate – Asheville, NC We had an incredible dining experience at Cúrate. From the moment we sat down, the energy of the place and the aroma from the open kitchen set the tone for something special. We ordered a variety of tapas to share, and every single one was excellent—beautifully prepared, bursting with flavor, and perfectly portioned for sharing. The mix of traditional Spanish favorites and creative new dishes made it a fun and memorable meal. The service was friendly and knowledgeable, helping us navigate the menu and pair everything just right. With great food, a lively atmosphere, and top-notch hospitality, Cúrate easily ranks as one of Asheville’s must-visit restaurants.

This restaurant was on my bucket list for a long time, based on reviews, so I finally decided to try it this week. Service was great, but the actual food was underwhelming and bland. We tried about 8 different dishes. Even the plating was unimaginative and messy-these pictures are before we even touched the food. At this price point, the food should be a fantastic & memorable experience. This definitely wasn’t it, unfortunately.

American restaurant
Located in Biltmore Village, the Corner Kitchen is housed in a charming 118-year-old Victorian cottage with an outdoor patio. This upscale restaurant offers New American cuisine and craft cocktails, emphasizing farm-to-table dining with fresh ingredients from local North Carolina farmers. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day of the week, it serves modern twists on southern comfort food in an intimate setting. Due to its proximity to Biltmore Estate, reservations are recommended as it tends to be busy.
Corner Kitchen is truly one of Asheville’s gems. Housed in a beautiful 120-year-old home in historic Biltmore Village, this restaurant has been a staple since 2004 — and with good reason. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the Southern-inspired menu never disappoints. Favorites like the Chicken & Waffles (with egg and gravy), Corned Beef Hash, and French Toast are the kind of dishes that keep you coming back. Don’t miss the Bacon Cheddar Tots — crispy, indulgent, and packed with flavor. From breakfast to brunch, lunch to dinner, everything here is crafted with care. After their temporary closure, it’s wonderful to see Corner Kitchen open again and thriving. They’re not just serving food — they’re helping bring energy and spirit back to Biltmore Village. Highly recommend making a reservation and enjoying one of Asheville’s most iconic dining experiences.

This was our first visit to Corner Kitchen, but the manager and hostess made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, giving a great table in a small area in front of the kitchen where we could watch plates being prepped. I started with the Chengazi oysters (think Chinese orange chicken but with fried oysters!), which were absolutely wonderful, while my wife had a great mushroom Wellington. For our main course, we had the halibut special, with me choosing the normal preparation with a panko crab crust, and my wife opting for a simpler sear with herbs. Both were excellent and paired with with our bottle of Gavi di Gavi. We ended our meal with creme brûlée of the day, in this case Grand Marnier. Overall service was excellent and the food was wonderful. We'll definitely return on our next visit to Asheville.

What a fantastic little restaurant, hard to believe a year ago it was underwater. A friend suggested this little place, and its the only place open in this little neighborhood that was flooded over 20 feet a years ago. what a comeback. Beautiful inside with a great little bar as you walk in the door, dining upstairs, at the bar, outside and a beautiful dining room. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bar is stocked with top name brands. The menu is small and manageable , I had the crab cakes and they were out of this world. I live on and island 32 miles out in the North Atlantic Ocean and no one on the New England Island make crab cakes like the Corner Kitchen. I also came back for Brunch on a Sunday, it was crowded but the wait was quick. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the cheddar grits were delicious.

What a cute, warm little restaurant! This area was hit really hard a year ago by the hurricane and they are all struggling to rebuild. Many places in this village area have not reopened. We stopped in here for breakfast before our Biltmore Estate tour. So happy we did! Our server was great, our food was good and we felt warm and cozy and seen. I hope these businesses are able to bounce back eventually because this was a nice place and a nice area. Go to the Corner Kitchen and give them some business! The coffee was good and the Bloody Mary was great. My biscuits and gravy were just what I wanted on a cold, rainy day! Corner Kitchen. Go. Eat. Enjoy! Oh!! And look for the picture with the little placard on the wall that says This High. That's how high the waters rose during the hurricane in 2024.

We are so thrilled to see them them back up and flourishing after Helene! The last time we dined here was for Father's Day 2024 with my husband and our children. On this day, however, we did not have a reservation and it was around 2 pm. Luckily, Olivia, with her bright smile and kindness, was able to seat us about 5 minutes later. We sat outside at Josh's table, right next to the kitchen's back door, I believe. Luckily, the staff wasn't too bad, but we did here an occasional F bomb drop. Iit was near their closing time between 2:30 and 5 and it was fine. We ordered the tater tots with pimento cheese to start. They were the expected greasy, crunchy, and tasty that we expected.. The remoulade that accompanied them was yummy! My husband ordered the reuben with extra crispy fries. He said the sandwich was okay and wished there was more meat to it. The fries were seasoned and cooked to perfection. I ordered the burger with a side of the feta potato salad. The burger was cooked too a perfect medium rare and was a great burger. The potato salad needed a touch more seasoning so I added salt and pepper and then it was real good. Josh was a terrific server as well...he was attentive, knowledgeable, and didn't make us feel rushed even though it was getting too be their closing time.

Great, in every way. Greeted plesantly. Seated Quickly. Attended to quickly. The Server knew every detail on the menu and was eager to recommend tastefully. Quality, superior. After a few days of wonderful dinning in the foodie capital of North Carolina, Ashville, we had saved the best for last. Five people and four different selections we all agreed each dish was the best we had ever been served. If Brunch can be this good, imagine what a fine dinner will be. We all plan to eagerly return to the "Corner Kitchen" for dinner.

we had Huevos rancheros, tried the French toast — and wow, it was delicious! The homemade whipped cream was such a nice touch, and the scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly. I do wish the French toast had been just a bit crunchier, but overall it was a really tasty and satisfying meal. I’ll definitely be back to try more!
Getriz M — Google review
Went to Corner Kitchen recently as I’d wanted to try it before Helene and now that it’s back open, we had to stop by. We started with some sangria and beers (sangria was great) before trying the soup of the day and the deviled eggs. The deviled eggs were good but I expected a bit better based on my friend Will’s as a standard. There was also a scoop of random pimiento cheese on the plate with nothing to scoop or top it with, maybe add some crackers or something? I had the pimp chick chicken sandwich which was really good, just needed some hot sauce which they had a variety of. The huevos rancheros tostada was lacking for the price, could lower it or add more to the portion? Overall food was good, service was better (thanks Kari) and I’ll definitely be back to try more.

Steak house
Binion's Roadhouse is a patriotic and southern-themed restaurant located in Hendersonville, NC. The Western decor and giant boot painted with stars and stripes add to its charm. Known for its huge juicy burgers, steaks, and barbecue selection, it also offers vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. The famous Tombstone Tea served in a quart-sized mason jar is a must-try.
Enjoyed the whole experience. 15-minute wait on a Friday was well worth it. Western themed. Peanuts on the table where you throw the shells on the floor. Country music playing. Dylan S. was our knowledgeable and efficient server. The food was excellent. We chose items in the $13-15 range. Highly recommend this 50 year old business.

This was a very good place to go eat, great food, very large portions, excellent service and the waitress although she was new was very knowledgeable about the food and services. All in all a good place to grab a bite to eat. Very large portions and very friendly staff. Somewhat like a sports bar. But not to loud. If I had any complaints it would only the restrooms needed some attention.

Great first time experience. We arrived around 6 with just a 15 minute wait. Loved the decor and peanut shells on the floor. They have rating cards on the table to complete when your service is done and turn into a locked box. Great way for management to track information. I hope they utilize it and rewards those who do well and fix any problems that might arise (although we didn’t have any issues at all). I also liked how their menu says something like “we aren’t perfect so let us know so we can fix it”. Rolls were delicious. We ordered a sirloin and ribeye. The ribeye was wonderful and melted in your mouth! Our waitress was very attentive.

The place is awesome. We only waited about 10 minutes to be seated. Our server Kendall was the best. She was fast to come to us and very patient and helpful. She was flying around the taking care of everyone yet she made everyone feel they were the only ones. The food was phenomenal and we expected it to take a while to get it since the place was so busy - nope. It took minutes to get our steaks which I highly recommend. The entire experience was beyond expectations. If average food and service is what you want I’d recommend you go elsewhere. It great food and service is what you want well here ya go. Thank you Kendall, you were great.

Shari and I went to dinner at Binion's Steakhouse in Asheville NC the night before touring Biltmore Estates. We had to wait about 15-20 minutes but it was definitely worth it. Went herr on a recommendation and I assure you it did not disappoint. We were seated promptly. Our waiter Gavin who was outstanding was on it within a minute of us. Sitting down took care of us the whole time we were there. Did a fantastic job. Didn't forget anything. Our food came out as we ordered in a very reasonable amount of time. My steak was cooked perfect my wife had some bacon cheddar chicken that was really good. The macaroni and cheese was fantastic and the sweet potato souffle was really good. I will eat here again

The bread was great. The onion blossom was excellent. One of ours got a well done hamburger and it was medium rare. The meatloaf was very dry. The worst was the steak. We ordered two steaks medium rare and they were well done, maybe medium. Waitress never really came by to ask. So this review is the constructive feedback. Please learn to cook steak for the steakhouse. The "steakfries" are just quartered potatoes. Which were also super dry and overcooked. Come for the rolls and leave.

Binion’s Roadhouse in Hendersonville is hands-down one of the absolute best restaurants in Western North Carolina! The moment you step inside, you’re swept into an incredible Western-themed atmosphere that feels like a modern-day saloon—rustic wood, cowboy flair, and warm lighting create a vibe that’s both fun and inviting. The unlimited baskets of peanuts are a total highlight; cracking them open and tossing the shells on the floor adds such a playful, authentic touch that makes every visit a blast. The food is nothing short of spectacular. The steaks were perfectly cooked—juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor, hitting all the right spots. The chicken tenders? Absolutely amazing, with a crispy golden crust and tender, flavorful meat paired with a dipping sauce we couldn’t get enough of. And don’t even get me started on the fresh yeast rolls—warm, fluffy, and so delicious they practically melt in your mouth, served with a spread that makes them irresistible. Every dish we tried was a home run. The waitstaff is truly exceptional. Our server was attentive, warm, and went above and beyond with spot-on recommendations and genuine hospitality, making us feel like family. The entire team’s energy kept the experience seamless and memorable from start to finish. If you’re in Hendersonville or anywhere near Western NC, Binion’s Roadhouse is a must. Between the incredible food, those addictive yeast rolls, the fun peanut-shell-tossing saloon vibe, and top-notch service, it’s a five-star experience through and through. We’re already counting down to our next visit!

Brewery
Wicked Weed Brewing's Brewpub in Asheville is a trendy brewery featuring a tasting room and a restaurant serving locally sourced New American cuisine. The establishment, founded by brothers Luke and Walt Dickinson, is known for its extensive beer selection and experimental fermentation processes. With over 100 beers created annually, including award-winning brews like Serenity, Wicked Weed has played a significant role in establishing Asheville as a prominent beer city.
5-star experience at Wicked Weed Brewery! We kicked things off with a flight of beers—great variety and super fresh. For dinner, we shared bison burgers, fish and chips, and wings with sweet potato fries. The bison was juicy and rich, the fish perfectly crisp, and the wings had the right amount of heat. Sweet potato fries were a standout—crispy and slightly sweet. Our server Matthew made the night even better—friendly, attentive, and gave great recommendations. Awesome vibes, great service, and killer food and brews.

Were visiting Asheville and this place popped up on of the first in search. Food is pretty good for the brewery. My beer and husband’s non alcoholic beverage tasted great, both were local made. No complaints to the service, but could have been more attentive. Overall be aware parking is likely everywhere so plan your trip ahead. Asheville underground parking cost us 25$ on Saturday.
Lilia M — Google review
While in Asheville for a short weekend trip I popped into Wicked Weed on a Friday around noon with 4 others. It was pretty crowded for a weekday lunch but there’s plenty of seating due to their indoor area, patio and a third area we were lead to. This area was outside in an area by their brewery tours with a cute bar attached. It was perfect for a quick lunch and beer. You simply ordered at the bar and they brought your food and drink out. The servers were friendly and knowledgeable about the food and drinks. They also had a gift shop with apparel and drinks to go, such as 6 and 12 packs. The fish and chips (my meal) was very good. Others in my group had the brewpub burger, loaded fries and turkey hoagie. Everyone agreed the fries and sweet potato fries were heavily salted but I chalked it up to a one time thing and maybe a heavy handed chef that day. Or maybe just request light or no salt if possible. Several in our group had their in house brewed beers and they were great. Plenty of choices as we all had different wants an tastes but each found something we liked. The non alcoholic beverage choices looked good as well and I wish I could have tried the root beer and kombucha! Definitely a spot you should check out while in Asheville!

We had an absolutely amazing time at Wicked Weed Brewing—everything from the atmosphere to the service to the food and drinks was top-tier. The beer selection was incredible. Every brew we tried was bold, flavorful, and expertly crafted. Whether you’re into hoppy IPAs or smooth, easy-drinking lagers, they’ve got something that’ll blow you away. The food was just as impressive. We ordered the chicken wings, fish and chips, and the bison burger—and every dish was a knockout. The wings were perfectly crispy with just the right kick, the fish was flaky and fresh with a light, golden batter, and the bison burger was juicy, well-seasoned, and stacked with flavor. Our server Mathew made the experience even better. He was friendly, attentive, and had great recommendations. You could tell he really cared about giving guests a great experience. The vibe, the service, the food, the drinks—everything was on point. If you’re in the area and looking for an unforgettable brewery experience, Wicked Weed Brewing is a must. Can’t wait to go back!

Wicked Weed Brewery in Asheville absolutely lived up to the hype and delivered an incredible experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is vibrant and fun, with a perfect balance of rustic charm and modern energy. Whether you’re sitting inside or out on the patio, the vibe is welcoming and upbeat. The beer selection is outstanding—there’s truly something for everyone. From hop-forward IPAs to crisp lagers and wild sours, every brew we tried was unique and well-crafted. You can tell the team here is passionate about brewing and it shows in the quality. We also grabbed a few bottles to take home because we couldn’t get enough. What really set the visit apart was our waiter—he was awesome. Super friendly, attentive, and knew the menu inside and out. He gave great recommendations, kept everything moving smoothly even though it was busy, and genuinely made us feel like welcomed guests. It’s not often you get service that good at a packed brewery. The food was also great—elevated pub fare with locally sourced ingredients and big flavor. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Asheville. Wicked Weed isn’t just a great brewery—it’s a must-visit experience. Five stars all around.

We have always enjoyed Wicked Weed beers, and had visited the Funktorium on a previous trip. This was the primary reason for visiting their main location. The weather was so nice we sat downstairs in the beer garden with our two teenagers. We had to order at the bar, but the line moved very fast. The beers were excellent as always, and they had several non-alcoholic options for the kiddos. We also got food which we all enjoyed. The Iceberg Wedge was one of the best salads I had on our trip. The kids enjoyed both the chicken wings and the fish tacos. Hubby said turkey sandwich was good, but recommends leaving off the pepper relish if you don't like a lot of spice. Coolcumber was my favorite try, especially if you like cucumber and gin flavors. Hubby liked the Blue Razz Burst. Bummed they didn't have the pickle mix they had a Funktorium, but this location had a lot more merchandise.
