Pasar Payang, also known as Pasar Besar Kedai Payang, is a bustling central market located on the banks of the Terengganu River in Kuala Terengganu. This indoor market offers a modern shopping experience and features a wide range of traditional handicrafts such as batik cloth, silk products, gold brocade, and brassware. Visitors can also find fresh agricultural products and local delicacies like chips, pottery, and salted fish.
One of the must when in Terengganu. You can get fresh local produce, kerepok lekor, snacks, vegetable and so on. Nice to stroll around and get the local vibes.

Well done! More than 20 years ago I frequently went here with my parents. Now, I travelled again with my friends. I'm very satisfied with the building conditions, ventilation, accessibility, facilities and everything. The toilet was clean and thumbs up for the escalator. Adapt to the changes. Modernise but keep the old way. Way too good compared to Pasar Siti Khadijah..I can say, old and resistance to change.
B_ F — Google review
There are 2 buildings i.e. the one with 2 floors selling clothes, gold, and souvenirs. Quite a number of shops. The one with just one floor is selling fruits and snacks. Behind the markets, you may see the river and recreation park. Quite nice area.

Beautiful new Pasar Kedai Payang, which is located opposite the original Pasar Payang. Pasar Kedai Payang 1 - bazaar for clothing, toys, goldsmith and sourvenirs. Pasar Kedai Payang 2 - wet and dry market and food court. You can walk from one building to another. Will take only 1-2 mins.

So huge. Here can get all type of batik fashion and all kind of local souvenirs. Parking bit difficult to get.

A local destination involving mainly traditional ladies fashion and clothing material market, soft toys in the shops area (Kedai), the dry market area; and the fresh food area which mainly revolves around Keropok Gemuk, a local variety of fried or sometimes steamed versions of mixed fish paste.

Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Tengku Tengah Zaharah Mosque, also known as the Floating Mosque, is a stunning architectural marvel in Kuala Terengganu. This mosque boasts a blend of modern and Moorish design elements, featuring marble, ceramics, mosaic works, and concrete paving. Situated above an artificial lagoon, it creates the illusion of floating on water. Built by Sultan Mahmud as a tribute to his mother, this serene sanctuary offers picturesque views and is perfect for photography enthusiasts.
I missed this place so much. I came in the late afternoon to enjoy the view here. The beach area is still under construction, so it’s fenced off. I just took in the evening scenery facing this beautiful mosque. It’s still as stunning as before, though a pang of nostalgia hit me, bringing back old memories. Haha, feeling a bit sentimental here. IASSNSABM. I really do.

Best time to be there is early morning to catch the early morning light play on the calm pond and the majestic mosque.
Sh E — Google review
Beautiful mosque. Opposite is a beach full of coconut trees. This place is serene and beautiful. Lucky to have two ice cream vendors that sells double cone childhood time Ice cream. The younger vendor was very nice. He let the elder vendor get the business to sell to me instead. Very respectful of him.
Lily O — Google review
Cleanliness of the area surrounding the mosque has deteriorated to a point that many would prefer to skip visiting it. If the authorities don't improve the upkeep, this mosque will no longer be in the list of must visit. However, should you be curious, the mosque is also known as the "floating mosque" of Kuala Ibai. The bright white structure contrasts with the dark waters of a lake, which surrounds the mosque. When the waters are calm, a mirror image of the mosque forms under the actual mosque. There is a park surrounding the mosque. The park is no longer kept in a condition befitting a prime tourist attraction. The unsightly barricade along the Ibai River frontage destroys the picturesque scene. Visitors are turned off. Perhaps it is no longer worth visiting.
Nazif J — Google review
This beautiful floating mosque situated along the East Coast Federal Route 3, serves as an enchanting photo spot. Adjacent to the beach, there is a park where visitors can enjoy an even better view of the mosque. During my visit (school holiday), many people were picnicking at the park, creating a lively atmosphere. Upon closer inspection, I noticed some dirty marks on the white facade of the mosque. However, from a distance, the mosque still retains its beauty and charm. It serves as a picturesque landmark that adds to the overall charm of the area.
Leh P — Google review
A beautiful and majestic mosque built in the water that appears floating. The surrounding area is serene and peaceful. Nice scenery, well maintained and clean. There is no shoes shelving. Places are very well labeled and signage. Men and women toilets are located on the left side. Women prayer areas are on the left, located at ground as well as upstairs. Opposite the mosque is a wide beautiful lagoon for leisure, recreation activities and picnic for the local residents and visitors.
Samad T — Google review
Well kept and clean air conditioned mosque. Food bank available in front for those who require. Ample parking in-front during morning prayers. Eateries are available opposite the mosque.

Really old mosque, so called the first floating mosque... Met a very nice n friendly pakcik that bring us around the mosque n show us the inside (we see it from the outside) even thou we are not properly dress... They do have a Aircon prayer hall thou... Could just sit outside the mosque to "appreciate" the "peacefulness... Actually do not need to visit the "inside" ...

Taman Tamadun Islam is an absolute gem in Kuala Terengganu, and a must-visit for anyone interested in Islamic heritage and architecture. The Monument Park is breathtaking, featuring meticulously crafted replicas of iconic Islamic landmarks from around the world. Worth a visit if you are in Tergganu. The island is interested as a man made area. However most impressive is the Crystal Mosque which is the highlight and makes this area worth a visit. The architure is amazing. The convention centre is also an impressive building. There are many parking spaces if you are visiting by car, but can get quite busy during holidays and peak times.
Alex B — Google review
Beautiful Concept, Poorly Maintained Visited Taman Tamadun Islam with high hopes as the concept is truly unique and educational. The replicas of iconic Islamic architecture from around the world are impressive and offer great potential for learning and cultural appreciation. However, it's disappointing to see that the place is not well maintained. Some areas look rundown, with fading paint, broken structures, and overgrown landscaping. With proper upkeep and attention, this could be a must-visit attraction in Terengganu. Hopefully, it will be restored to its full glory in the future.

We drive to here after taking a boat along the river from Jetty Pak Awang. We had our dinner here. Food is okay. Rice with beef bone soup is nice. I like soda lemon drink. Very refreshing.

Pretty sad actually. They have the vision and mission to be an excellent park yet their dream seem to be vanished and abandon the most crucial part which is - maintaining the facility. This massive park has everything to be success. The location, the attractions, the volume of visitors coming in. To be fair, it definitely needs a boost on redefine the purpose of this magnificent park. Work on maintaining is a must. Put more effort on this. Several sites seem dismal and out of place. Top attractions but neglected the jewel itself.

It's a tourist attractions places. The hospitality are very good. The displays or the replica of building are great too. It's a lots of beautiful details have been displays on the art's of architecture. But the maintenance are very poor. They need to improved it. But the landscapes are beautiful though.

Museums
Specialty Museums
The Terengganu State Museum, located in Kampung Losong, is the largest museum in Southeast Asia and a top attraction in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia. The complex features buildings inspired by traditional houses and spans four buildings with nine galleries. Visitors can explore exhibits such as ancient inscription stones, traditional weapons, Islamic art, and traditional houses. The museum also boasts lush gardens and ponds for visitors to enjoy.
Visit to Terengganu Museum We went during a public holiday, but it wasn’t too crowded. Entry fee was RM5 for adults and RM3 for children. The atmosphere was beautiful with a nice museum vibe. While the collection isn’t as extensive as the one in Melaka, it’s still a worthwhile experience for history lovers. The museum is quite tall and exploring everything can be a bit tiring, but overall it was a good and meaningful experience.
Ayu S — Google review
The building is massive and truly impressive—the architecture alone is mesmerizing. Only two blocks were open to visitors, while the rest remained closed. Having visited many museums, I didn’t find the exhibits particularly extraordinary, but the structure itself makes it worth a visit. There’s also a cultural village nearby with many traditional houses, which adds to the overall experience.
Jeniffer S — Google review
The Terengganu State Museum is never disappointing and is a fantastic place to gain knowledge and learn local history. Visitors can easily spend hours inside given the extensive exhibits, and the experience is enhanced by friendly staff, affordable ticket prices, and easy parking.Coming back? definitely
Ummu A — Google review
The museum was big and absolutely beautiful — I loved every single building’s architecture. Each structure had its own charm and character. However, the artifacts could be displayed better. It would be great if they included more detailed information, such as the date of inheritance, founder, or other background details that highlight the value and story behind each piece.
Farah L — Google review
This museum is huge. Lots to discover.. make sure you call to all the exhibits. There's one downstairs people usually misses. The ticket counter take cash only so make sure prepare your cash. Ticket entrance is cheap. So no worries. Love the architecture.
Shazwan S — Google review
The museum is very big and nicely air-conditioned! I came around 1pm, and it was such a relief to step inside and feel cool right away. The exhibitions are arranged by floors—on the ground floor there’s a focus on batik and songket, but I found it a bit confusing that many of the photos were from Johor instead of Terengganu. The upper floors had more on Terengganu’s history, which was amazing to see. Personally, I think the clothing exhibition would be better placed upstairs, as it felt a little boring on the lower level. Also, there were many replicas instead of original artifacts, and some items didn’t have clear information about their function or date of origin. That said, taking photos outside the museum is really beautiful—the building and surroundings are stunning!
Farisha H — Google review
There are two types of tickets: - One for the main museum galleries - One for the outdoor exhibits (traditional houses, boats, etc.) Each ticket is RM5 for adults, while children and OKU (persons with disabilities) enter for free—very thoughtful! During our visit, several areas were closed for maintenance, including the traditional boat exhibit. While it was a bit disappointing, we understand the importance of upkeep to preserve these cultural treasures. Hopefully more areas will reopen soon! The museum complex is designed in the style of traditional Malay houses—it’s like walking through a life-sized kampung postcard. The buildings themselves are part of the learning experience. The museum grounds are stunning—lush greenery, traditional architecture, and serene vibes. Perfect for post-wedding photoshoots, graduation portraits, or even just a peaceful stroll with family. The open-air layout and spacious grounds make it ideal for families. Kids can explore freely between pavilions, peek into traditional house interiors, and enjoy the outdoor exhibits—even if interactive screens are limited. Also, The staff were welcoming and helpful, adding to the overall pleasant experience. There’s a small shop selling books, handicrafts, and cultural souvenirs—great for picking up a memento or educational gift. Facilities for OKU are available, including ramps and elevators, making the museum inclusive and easy to navigate. Open daily from 9 AM to 5 PM, except Fridays. It’s best to plan your visit early to enjoy the full experience before closing time. Suggestion Regular updates on which sections are open would be helpful for visitors planning their trip. Maintenance is necessary, but a little notice goes a long way!
Yokai C — Google review
This museum is outstanding from an architectural point of view. Just exploring the building justified the RM15 entry price (for foreigners). The displays are better than the national museum in KL although there is still room for improvement. A must see in KT!

Bukit Puteri, also known as Princess Hill, is a popular tourist spot in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia. Situated along the Terengganu River, it provides stunning panoramic views of the city and its surroundings. This historical site served as a fortress during the rule of Sultan Zainal Abidin III in the 19th century. The ascent to the top covers about 200 meters and rewards visitors with breathtaking city vistas.

I want others to know about this. I'm too overwhelmed and overexcited when after so long years this was announced to be reopened for free, only to get here with full disappointment. From official web Muzium Terengganu (refer maroon picture attached), it only stated it's free entrance until April 6, 2025, but it didn't even mention it's actually free entrance everyday EXCEPT ON FRIDAY qwq, 9AM to 5PM. If you visit on friday like I do, the gate is locked. 😓 And what's more, I'm totally disappointed with the building. Should be maintained well for heritage lor.. The building is already aging. And it's flooded with algae-sea (can see on the basement parking). 😱 Well, I know Bukit Puteri and this singular building is different "entity", but as heritage, should maintained both well. I knew, Terengganu maybe flooded before but still, as a common people, I can only hope 😅. I will come again 3+ years in future to see the improvement 👎🏼 Hoping for the better. 🙏🏼 Wish I can see the view from its top, not from the bottom as I did today.

Is this place permanently closed to the public? I always wanted to see this place especially because of its historical background and the local's legends but unfortunately ever since i learnt about its existence (which is also recently during the national's Covid 19 PKP) it has been closed down. Ive been to KT before but since I traveled with public transport, it was hard to go around the City from the budget hotel i stayed because taxis and local town public buses were hardly around unless youre near to the bus terminal (no taxi will stop if you hailed from the roadside). Hopefully during my next trip, the City already has the Grab service for tourists' easy access to many interesting places.

Bukit Puteri or Princess Hill, is located just a few steps opposite of Central Market (Pasar Payang). This 173 year-old 200m hill only came to known when the Sultan Baginda Omar turned it into a defensive fortress in 1831 during his reign period. To perform the function of a protective fortress, a few units of cannon and a bell was placed. The bell served as an ‘alarm’ whenever there are enemies were detected. It was also the residence for the Sultan during the early days of his ruling. Today stairs are properly built for people to climb to the top. Most of the cannon had taken back by the Siam during the period when they ruled Terengganu in 1843-1845. Remaining there are a flagpole, a few left over cannons, a bell and a lighthouse. The bell, however, is still performing its function but no more to alert the existence of enemies instead a breaking fast reminder during the fasting month. Best time to visit the fort in the morning or evening time when temperature is not too extreme. From the platform at the top, you can see fishing boat coming back home after a hard day. To the other side, you have a panoramic view of Kuala Terengganu.

Seafood restaurant
Warung Pok Nong in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia is a popular spot known for its deep-fried seafood served with sauce. Operating from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm, this eatery offers a variety of fish, squid, and prawns coated in batter. It has gained attention after being featured on the TV show 'Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan Tv 3,' attracting many customers looking to savor the crispy seafood delights during the evening hours.
Located across the road from the beach. Can get crowded and parking can be a challenge during busy periods. To control the crowd, customers will need to wait for a number before they are allowed into the restaurant to look for their table and order food. I enjoyed the sotong celup tepung and keropok lekor. Food prices are quite reasonable and it is self service.

Haven't been here in a long time, the front gengksap has changed a lot which has been eroded by the waves. My favorite food is dip tepung every time I visit Terengganu. Maintain the quality and quality of the food so that it remains delicious, crispy, fresh, fragrant and upgrades the area to be attractive. Recommended

Warung Pok Nong (Celup Tepung) – Total Disaster With over 4,000 Google reviews averaging 4.3 stars, I thought this place would be a must-try. Boy, was I wrong. The System (5/5): To be fair, the queuing system is impressive. You first queue for a number. An old chap sizes up your group and allocates a suitable table. When your number is called, you queue for drinks. Once you’ve got those in hand, you queue again for food—only when your number comes up. Sounds tedious, but it’s actually orderly. The Food (2/5): • Fish ICT (ikan celup tepung, RM6 each): Zero seasoning. Just gutted fish dipped in flour and deep-fried. Crispy, yes. Flavor? Nonexistent. • Cuttlefish (RM17): I came expecting the glorious whole squid from Mark Wiens’ YouTube video. Instead, got sad, chopped-up pieces. • Keropok Lekor (RM2 for 3 pcs): Supposedly a KT specialty. Here, it’s fried in the same bland flour batter. Forgettable. • Cuttlefish Eggs (RM8): The only saving grace. Clean, creamy, no fishy taste. Decent portion too. The Rest: • Chili sauce: Watery and bland. Calling it a “dip” is generous. • Environment: Hot, no AC. Located by the seaside, which sounds nice until you’re sweating while eating. View is good though. • Parking: A nightmare. Brace yourself. Verdict: Portions are okay, prices are reasonable, seafood is fresh—but freshness alone can’t save tasteless cooking. Service? What service? You’ll likely spend 1-1.5 hours here. Try it yourself if you must, but don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Reached Poknong and it was already packed with people. Must be a local hotspot, sebab memang ramai gila. Love the chill vibes here – makan while enjoying the sound of waves crashing against the shore. It was rainy season, so the waves were a bit wild, but still… the view was worth it! Must-try menu? Of course lah the celup tepung – tried the fish, prawns, squid, and crab, all with nasi lemak. Overall not bad! Just that the squid was a bit chewy, and the crowd… wow, had to take a number and wait to be called. Felt like clinic vibes but for seafood 😂 Still, worth checking out if you’re around – not many famous options nearby anyway 😅🐾

Do not feel discouraged if you see a long queue because this place provides many tables and seats. Fast service. The staff will guide you to the table based on the number of pax you inform them. The hot items, battered fried menu especially seafood. I love how thin the batter is, and all my seafood tastes fresh. Affordable price.

Restoran Singgang Budu is a popular dining spot in Kuala Terengganu, known for serving local dishes and its signature dish, singgang. This unique dish is a rare find outside the state and is highly favored by locals. The restaurant offers a variety of delicious traditional village dishes that cater to the East Coast taste buds. While singgang is the highlight, there are also other appetizing options available.
We went here at lunch time on Sunday. Crowded and hot. But the food is good, service is fast , seat is easy to find. Only parking is a bit difficult.

Great choice of lauk to feast with eyes and stomach. This place is clean, with plenty of tables and seats. It's not too warm even though it's not air-conditioned. Family of 4; arrived 11am. June 2025. First time here, found one lot at the front parking. There were also parking on the road outside or behind the bldg. Place was half full & they were roasting meat & chicken at the front; looks smoking good! First, u collect ur tray, plates & go for the rice & everything else! They had so much food variations u cannot take all, it is so hard to gv up some food. We had 1 tray for 4 plates of rice & another tray for all the lauk & ulam. Yes, they had various types of sambal sauces; be spoilt people! Come with ur trays to the cashier & they will cost out for payment. Drinks to be ordered at another counter, the payment counter. This is where u order ur drinks & make payment for the food as well. They had adequate hand-washing points & oh, a lunchtime acoustic performance, which creates a more casual experience. *good band they were. The food was good, many variations esp seafood. The fried squid was a bit tad tough, perhaps they can cook longer to get more tenderness in every bite! The veggies & raw bites that comes with mouth-watering sambal sauces had a good spread. Again, u just cannot take all. Total cost slightly steep owing to the fact that they had a big spread of food variations & the quality of each dish. It's like a buffet spread but u only pay for what u take. By the time we were done, it was lunch time & realised the place was full with a queue! Thank you Restoran Singgang Budu, we had a good lunch!

We came all the way to Singgang Budu Terengganu around 4pm, knowing the restaurant closes at 5pm. We ordered fast and even ate quickly, just to make sure we didn’t trouble anyone. But while we were still eating, one of the staff suddenly shouted “Balik, Balik” at us. We even finished eating at 4.30 and pay directly. Honestly, it was shocking and embarrassing. We were still within the opening hours, and there was no need to treat customers like that. We came to enjoy good food, not to be rushed and yelled at. The food was nice, but the way we were treated completely ruined the experience. We left feeling really unwelcome definitely not the Terengganu hospitality we expected.

Came around 2pm for lunch and the que was long. It took so long for the staff to refill the plates and rice despite the long que. You need to be quick and get your table. While your partner queing up to enter the restaurant, the other person need to hunt for the table. Once you secured your table, you need to clean up the previous person’s plates & cup & wipe your own table. No staff will do it for you. No water at most of the sink and the only sinks that has water only giving small water flow. In terms of food, its nothing to shout about. Some of the dishes were tasteless and some were ok. The owner should plan it better in terms of services and facilities since it is a school boliday and it has been operated for quite some time. Not recommended unless you are ok to wait.

Zie's Corner offers a variety of dishes worth trying, such as chicken chop, grilled lamb, Terengganu-style nasi lemak, meatballs, and chicken parmigiana. They also serve refreshing drinks like strawberry shake and vanilla float. While you indulge in the delicious food at Zie's Corner, your kids can have fun at the nearby playground. The restaurant provides a decent and cozy dining experience with quick service and reasonable prices.
"I have been visiting Zie’s Corner for the past 25 years, and still, their menu and quality taste the same. Kudos to the owner. It's hard to find a decent Western with choices that satisfying. We would try a different menu every time we pay a visit. But the most mouth-watering menu item was the pancake. Its caramel perfection with ice cream on top, a perfect combination to call a dessert!"

went for breakfast at a spot with ample parking and a riverside view. I ordered the honey pancake and nasi lemak ayam. The prices were slightly on the higher side considering the portion sizes—RM12 for the pancake and RM10 for the nasi lemak ayam. The nasi lemak was satisfying, with fragrant rice, crispy chicken, and egg that complemented each other well. However, the sambal could use some improvement as it tasted a bit plain. Same goes with fries anchovies a bit too salty. The pancake had a decent presentation but lacked flavor. Overall, it was an acceptable experience with quick service at the counter. That said, the pricing could be better aligned with the portion sizes.

Despite of all the reviews here,at first I was a bit sceptical when my family wanted to have dinner here, but then..surprisingly its not that bad lah.. food is good, especially their MASHED POTATOES and SANDWICHES.. damn good I tell you.. you guys should try their sandwiches 👍🏼👍🏼. Lamb chop too dry, I hope they will improvise. Overall with that kind of view and their food, its a decent and cosy place to hang out with your family.. I will definitely come again for their sandwiches 😁

They serves outdated menus to customers. Drinks that is Rm 4 in the menus are actually RM 5 in the bill. I asked for 1 extra sauce but the server never send it and i went to get it by myself and was charged for 2 sauces which is Rm7 and sounded weird because the servers said that 1 sauce is rm 3. Never have i found a fish n chips place that serves ”haruan tasik” as their fish. Very unsuitable. It was dry and fishy. They did not use batter but they used breadcrumbs which is also weird because it dries the already naturally dried fish. The rm 20 dish was 2 very thin fish and chips. I only tasted the breadcrumbs. They should change the fish to dory or salmon and use proper batter so that at least it pleases people's eyes Wrong moves guys. Nasi lemak was delicious. The chicken chop price went up whilst the portion shrinks. Servers were also lazy and unresponsive to questions. This used to be a good place for people to go to spend their hard earned money once a while now its just a n over hyped hipster cafe. Did not have a good experience. I dont recommend people to come here and spend their money. Okay view tho

As an American visiting T town. I saw this place as I was driving by and after looking at the reviews it was pretty awesome. The service was really top notch because My sister ordered a carrot juice and it tasted nasty AF but she didn’t have the guts to tell the waiter but magically the waiter came over by himself and asked if she wanted to change her drink because he had tried some in the back and said it tasted sour. Never had that happen when I was in Malaysia and that type of service is why this place is amazing. I had the banana and pineapple pancakes. It’s more of a thin crepe than pancake but deep fried bananas on top was pretty amazing. Overall I’d recommend this place if you want good service, food and a great view of the water. It’s seat your self, wave down a waiter, and pay at the counter once you are finished eating. Lmk if you have any question @ninjaxfang

Food is good, service is quick and price is reasonable. Location at the waterfront is a plus too. Recommended if you're looking for decent western food in Kuala Terengganu.

Rahsia Kitchen in Kuala Terengganu is a highly recommended restaurant for dinner, offering a variety of delicious Western dishes at affordable prices. The cozy and comfortable setting makes it perfect for family dining. Some popular menu items include chicken grill, sirloin steak, butter chicken, and more. Visitors praise the black pepper gravy and mashed potatoes, as well as the fried kuey teow.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The food here is really delicious and totally worth the price! The spaghetti carbonara is super creamy and flavorful, and the fries are honestly my favorite — so good! The fish and chips taste amazing, and the lamb never disappoints. Definitely a place I’ll come back to again! 🍝🍟🐟🥩 Parking is a bit limited, but the food makes it worth the hassle! 🚗✨

The chicken chop and grilled chicken were well made. Not too oily unlike other places, good seasoning, flavourful black pepper sauce. The only issue is that parking might be a bit difficult as there is limited parking space directly in front and by the side of the restaurant. Relatively quick service, well priced. Would definitely come again.

was impressed by the overall experience. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, offering great value for the quality. I had the boneless lamb, perfectly cooked and paired with a delightful combination of smoke and black pepper sauces. My wife enjoyed the salmon, which was equally well-prepared. The portions were just right for an adult, and the kids’ menu was a pleasant surprise, with tasty bites priced at only RM8 – perfect for families. The only downsides were the limited parking space and the average ambiance, but the food more than makes up for these minor inconveniences. Overall, it’s a fantastic spot for good food at a great price!”

Tasty food to begin with, portion wise just nice, matching with the price. Good services provided, come with good mannered staff. It's just the parking is quite limited, you might need to park beside the main road.

We went there for dinner. 4 adults, 1 kid. Food was delicious and served at reasonable time. Except for the steak, it was a little bit on the tough side. Definitely not your typical KT time, IFYYK. Customer service was excellent. We’d come back if we’re in town.

Best western food in this area. There are variety of choice in the menu. The offered price are reasonable. The portion are medium but the taste are really great. My favorite dishes are Chicken Roulade, Sirloin Steak and Braised Lamb. Across the street there their cafe called Qawa Cafe which is really crowded. Their cook is an integrated chef. So no wonder their food taste awesome. The car park are easily accessible and this restaurant always crowded during golden hour (7pm-10pm). I definitely recommend this restaurant.

The Syrup VS Soda is a unique dining spot in Kuala Terengganu that offers generous portions at affordable prices. The restaurant is known for its large servings of Western food, such as burgers made with high-quality, self-produced meat. Customers can enjoy dishes like Nasi Goreng Kam Heong Tulang and Nasi Goreng Chicken Chop with black pepper sauce, with the former being highly recommended for its delicious flavor.
1st time here because of the good reviews. Honestly every meal is worth trying. Rasa semua cukup sdap..portion pun tidak sikit dan tidak terlalu bnyk. Everything is just nice. Will definitely repeat trying more different meals. Good service although many people are queing. The staffs tried their best to accomodate quickly. Food did not take more than 15 minutes to be served though diners were always coming in. PLUS all meals were given generous amount of mixed salad. Love the Brazil spinach.

Teh o ais laici and mushroom soup were good. Decent nasi goreng daging and nasi goreng chicken chop. Not a fan of their kuew teow goreng tomyam ..... the flavour profile is just not to my liking ..... overly sour and somewhat funny taste. Come early and you'll be saved from queuing.

Crowded but quickly attended, with friendly service throughout. Prices may look on the higher side, but the portions are really hearty. The chicken chop was average, decent but nothing outstanding. The real highlight was the Nasi Goreng Kambing Special – although meant for 2 pax, it can easily feed 3 (you may ask for packaging container to tapao the unfinished portion in case you fail the challenge). The lamb was meaty with a slightly chewy bite, carrying a sweet undertone. The rice itself was nicely balanced, not overseasoned and not too dry. Be warned – it’s so satisfying you might overeat even when you’re full! The kuey teow goreng was alright, again served in a very big portion. Do ask to omit the chili if you prefer it less spicy. Overall, hearty food with generous servings that make it worth a try. Parking could be a challenge but doable if park further. Do observe their business hours.

Whenever you are in Kuala Terengganu and looking for the most happening place to have dinner, this IS the place to be!! I can assure that you wont regret it... We were in town just for one night due to our hectic schedule. My wife had made a dinner arrangement with her local business contacts, and we were told to meet here for dinner. Upon our checking with the hotel's front office, this place was actually within a walking distance from the hotel we were staying at. That was a plus point, as I wouldnt have to drive for dinner! As we were trying to figure out the way to get there by foot, three gentlemen came out from the lift and delared that, " We are going to The Syrup vs Soda for dinner.." Upon hearing that, I nonchalantly enquired whether we could just tag along, and they answered in the affirmative.. As soon as we arrived at the restaurant, it had started to rain cats and dogs!! Lucky for us, we managed to get our tables, as our business contacts had made a prior booking. They also had placed the orders ahead of time, so before we realized it, the dishes were already being served at our table...And what huge servings they were!!! A plate of Nasi Goreng Kambing costed RM50.00 each, but each serving could easily feed 3 persons!! Hence, we all ended up sharing the plates amongst our party of 10 pax.. Fahim was challenged to finish the Nasi Goreng Kam Heong all by himself, and he was up for the challenge. But try as he did, he eventually failed, and we had to help him to do the honor...The beverages were also served by the gallons, in huge mugs. And most of us couldnt finish our drinks either..Maybe we should have shared them also, as sharing is indeed caring after all...

A bit disappointed. Although the portion was generous, the taste didn’t live up to expectations. I ordered nasi goreng tomyam, but it tasted plain with no hint of tomyam flavor. It taste like the plain nasi goreng merah. The prawns were also not fresh. I was hoping for more from the syrup soda, but honestly, even a simple warung tepi jalan could do better. Overall, quite disappointed. I really hope you can improve the quality.

A simple plate of fried rice is very tasty. Drink is prepared according to your request. Prices are on the high side. Can't help it. It's suited in the town.

Local and western fusion food. Came by at 8pm just as the restaurant was starting dinner service. Had to wait to dine as there was a queue already. Waiting time for certain items on the menu were duly advised in regards to preparation time. Ordered the mixed grill platter and kambing fried rice and the food was delicious. Fried rice had a lamb steak and lots of lamb pieces in it. The platter had lamb, beef and grilled chicken, plus sausages, corn cob and salads to go with it. Definitely recommended to visit. Portions are generous and the price is worthwhile. 150rm including sodas.
