Fortress
Museums
Perched on the highest point in Toledo, the Alcázar de Toledo is an imposing 16th-century fortress that has witnessed centuries of history. Originally a Roman palace dating back to the 3rd century, it was later renovated in Renaissance style under Charles V and Philip II of Spain. The fortress boasts a commanding hilltop location with its square shape, crenellated defenses, and four corner towers added during the reign of Emperor Charles V.
The Alcázar of Toledo is one of the city’s most iconic historic landmarks, perched atop a hill overlooking the old town. Its massive and majestic architecture showcases a blend of Renaissance and Spanish military styles. Visiting it provides a unique opportunity to explore Toledo’s history, admire architectural art, and enjoy stunning views of the city.

This was the most bizarre tourist attraction I’ve ever seen. No idea where the entry to it was, but from the google reviews I have read, you’re not missing much, except the heat. I ended up going to the library, taking the lift to the cafeteria and getting great views from there. Also, a beer and wine only cost a total of 3.50 euros. Bargain!
Geri O — Google review
The Alcázar de Toledo is a must-see, towering over the city with a history that’s as gripping as its views! This fortress, reborn after the Spanish Civil War, houses the Army Museum, where you’ll find everything from Roman ruins to Civil War relics. The archaeological displays in the basement are a highlight, showing layers of Toledo’s past. The central patio, with its Habsburg charm, is stunning, and the terrace offers jaw-dropping city views perfect at sunset. Plan for 2 hours to explore; audio guides help, though more English signage would be nice. Free entry is a bonus!
Kevin A — Google review
So magnificent and beautifully built. A must visit for sure. Make sure to climb all the way to the top where you can see the courtyard and royal stairs. PS: the museum has free entry on Wednesdays
Priyanka D — Google review
You are in Toledo- The City of Tree Cultures, Christians, Jews and Muslims. The history of the city is about 2000 years. Alcazar de Toledo will show you a big part of that history, but you need at least 3-4 hours if you are interested. My advice -take an audio guide, it is only 4 EURO. So many original artifacts from past, they are unique. It is a must visit place.
DNK — Google review
This imposing castle is the defining symbol of Toledo. Now converted to the Army Museum. Interesting and wide ranging exhibits with some archaeological exhibits too. Entrance fee only 5 euros
Calvin C — Google review
The entrance is from the side. It's the military museum entrance. The place is humongous and there are a lot of military weapons and knights armour to see. This is a must see in Toledo . From the rooftops you can see the whole valley. Spectacular views with old roman buildings.
Virgiorix — Google review
Excellent! An amazing place. Not only because the Alcazar itself but also the museum inside is amazing. Full of information on the history of the place and the formation of Spain from the times before the Roman empire. Full of history. Excellent!!! Beyond my expectations.

Synagogue
Sights & Landmarks
Sinagoga de Santa María La Blanca is a 12th-century synagogue in Toledo, Spain, known for its stunning Moorish-style architecture. Originally built as a synagogue, it was later converted into a church. The interior features horseshoe-shaped arches, hand-carved coffered ceilings, niches for the Torah, and lattice windows with Arabic lettering. It also houses the Sephardic Museum, showcasing exhibits on Jewish history and ancient artifacts from across Spain.
I guess this is so-called mudejar style of architecture, right? I really love its purity and delicacy. It’s eye catching from every angle and everyone is slowing down their footsteps when entering. The ticket costs €4.
Fang H — Google review
You will be disappointed if you are expecting to learn anything about the Jewish history of this building and it is more than a little bit anachronistic to call it a synagogue yet add the name of a Catholic saint. The building itself is quite beautiful and worth seeing but it’s a shame that they charge four euro admission and there is virtually no information about the rich history of the building. It’s also a little bit surprising to see a big crucifix in the main hall when you think you are going to a synagogue that is still described on all of the local signage as a synagogue. There is a lovely courtyard and a nice modern gift shop, but I would say you could easily be in and out of this whole thing in 20 minutes.
ESB N — Google review
I suggest visiting this place with a guide that explains everything to you. Nice architecture and it's well preserved. Definitely worth visiting if interested.
Francesco M — Google review
Santa Maria La Blanca is a beautiful monument with stunning whitewash walls and arches in Toledo Spain! Full of history as both a synagogue and later a church. Now its a historic monument not used for religious services. Its very quiet, peaceful, and affordable to visit (about 3 Euro or included with the Toledo Tourist Bracelet). One of my favorite stops in Toledo not only for its unique beauty but it slowed down the pace and wasn't as crazy busy as some in Spain. It is small and you dont need alot of time to visit to see it all. Maybe 20 minutes max. Definitely worth stopping in!
How L — Google review
My husband and I visited this second-oldest synagogue in Europe on a Friday afternoon in mid-March. We only visited 4 of the Tourist Bracelet sites so we didn't buy the pass, just paid €4 per person at each. I've visited an active synagogue in Budapest (Dohány Street) on a guided tour of the Jewish Quarter so this was a bit of a let down. The site is pretty and quiet and the temple is lovely, but being old it is small. There is a bit of info in Spanish, but nothing in English. The gift shop is nice though also small and there are benches in the courtyard.
Chelsea D — Google review
Very small destination. Beautiful structure. This is a quick stop in Toledo.
Stacey F — Google review
Learned a lot about Jewish culture in this sinagoga. Definitely recommend
Mohammed D — Google review
It's an empty building with nothing much of interests. And the management does not provide enough information to explain the historical significance of the place. For the same 4 Euros, the monastery down the street is much more interesting.

Art museum
Museums
The Museo de El Greco, located in the historic Jewish Quarter of Toledo, beautifully showcases the artistic legacy of the master painter El Greco. The museum, established in 1911, features two buildings with a charming courtyard and garden that provide a tranquil setting for the displayed artworks. Visitors can explore not only El Greco's pieces but also 16th-17th century Spanish artworks.
Wandering through this museum felt like stepping into El Greco’s soul! The way his vibrant "Apostolate" and haunting "Tears of Saint Peter" leap off the canvas is unreal pure emotion frozen in time. Housed in a stunning 16th-century mansion, the place oozes history, with cozy courtyards and artifacts that make you feel like you’re peeking into Toledo’s past. Did you know El Greco wasn’t truly appreciated until the 19th century when French artists rediscovered his genius? Grab a ticket for just €3 (free for under 18s or on Saturdays after 2 PM and Sundays!). My advice: take your time strolling the Jewish Quarter to get here it’s half the charm. Don’t miss the nearby Santa Cruz Museum for more of El Greco’s brilliance!
Kevin A — Google review
I don’t know about El Greco until this visit. I watched the video introducing his paintings and career which was helpful to know him better. I love the garden more than his paintings to be honest. 😆
Fang H — Google review
As a Greek visiting Toledo for the first time it was simply impossible not to pay a visit at the magnificent Museo de El Greco, former house of painter Dominikos Theotokopoulos. The museum was beautifully and peacefully organized where each guest could both wander on their own or be a private of a private tour. Extremely clean and beautiful all around the rooms as well as the flower-filled gardens! Congratulations to the people attending it! Don’t miss it if you ever find yourself walking in the old capital of Spain, Toledo !
Doraki A — Google review
Excellent tasting menu. And great value for money. Interesting to watch the final preparations of each dish across the counter. Presentation was great and each dish delicous.
Gregg C — Google review
Very nice small museum with a 16th century renovated house opened in 1910 and an addition from 2011 with a good collection of El Greco paintings particularly his apostle series and the plan of Toledo. There’s information in a video about El Greco and the nobleman who funded the initial project.

Mosque
Sights & Landmarks
Mezquita del Cristo de la Luz, located in Toledo, Spain, is a former mosque dating back to 999 CE that was later transformed into a Christian church. As one of the city's oldest monuments, it showcases remarkable Hispano-Islamic and Mudejar architecture. The mosque's conversion into a church took place in 1085 after Toledo was conquered by Christians. Despite its small size, the interior boasts beautifully preserved architecture.
The Mezquita del Cristo de la Luz is a small but incredibly atmospheric mosque, built in the 10th century during the height of Muslim rule in Toledo. Its location, right next to one of the city’s main gates, suggests it was used as a place of prayer for travelers entering the city. Toledo at the time was one of the most advanced cities in Europe, known for its impressive defensive walls, urban planning, and above all, its unique diversity. Muslims, Christians, and Jews lived side by side, and the city became a center of learning, science, and culture. This mosque is one of the few surviving Islamic buildings in the city, and you can still feel that rich, layered history in its architecture and surroundings. Definitely worth visiting, small but powerful, and a true view into the amazing legacy of Al-Andalus.
Mazen C — Google review
Iconic Toledo architectural jewel. The building is small, subdued, almost shy... but a key element to understand the history and transformations of historical Toledo, and its lauded cultural heritage. The visitor entrance/center is a competent intervention nicely integrated with the surrounding gardens before reaching the building itself.
Daniel L — Google review
The place is no longer functioned as praying place, neither as a mosque nor as a chapel, but as a museum. You should visit its garden. You’ll have a beautiful view point to the city below.
Dian P — Google review
This small former mosque is over 1,000 years old — a rare and impressive piece of history. While it might feel underwhelming if you’ve seen grander mosques, its age still makes it worth a visit. What I personally appreciated even more was the peaceful garden surrounding the mosque and terrace with lovely city views, usually empty as it’s part of the mosque grounds.
Michaela H — Google review
Nothing special. Spent 10 mins here. It was only 4 euro but it was not even worth that. Spent max 10 mins here. Given how pretty Toledo itself is, this wasn’t worth it to see inside.
Erin D — Google review
Nothing to see, tiny with a very small garden. No toilet for visitors either. Definitely not with the €4 entry price. Go see anything else in the city instead or grab 2 beers.
Ken C — Google review
In a kind of normal sense, this place is unmissable simply because it is the last physical statement of Muslim Toledo (albeit one that is now half Christian addition). Of course in actual fact old town Toledo still owes much more to its Moroccan than Spanish heritage. Aside from all that, this small site, which doesn't take very long to see at all, is still charming. I love that each of the nine ceiling decorations is unique.
Alex C — Google review
Dear readers, when visiting Madrid you must take a day trip to Toledo…it’s honestly a fairy tale…I felt I was transported to a medieval time, and knights were going to start walking around the tiny streets. It was absolutely breathtaking…set on a hill, surrounded by the original walls, built as a fortress….with the river below. Then you happen to stumble upon this beautiful mosque, one of the oldest after Cordoba…we honestly had no clue it was there. I hadn’t done too much research before we went, I just knew from pictures I had googled that Toledo is a gem. So, this was a real treat…we went in, rented the guided tour, and are so glad we did. It gives you the history from the beginning to end when it became a church…just like Cordoba mosque, it has both Christian and Muslim history. It has a exceptional view as well…with a lovely garden that has a gentle water fountain that relaxes you, I just wanted to sit there and enjoy the breeze….a must visit when visiting Toledo…

Mirador del Valle is a stunning scenic overlook that offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city and its surroundings. Located on the Carretera de Circunvalacion, this lookout provides an unparalleled vantage point to admire Toledo's iconic landmarks, including the Alcazar, the Cathedral, and the historic walls. Visitors can also enjoy spectacular sunset views and witness the city illuminated by orange light at night. Additionally, there are dining options and a market nearby for a complete experience.
Majestic City steeped in history. I only spent a little over an hour here on our and I already want to come back and spend a day or 2 exploring the many sites and quaint shops.
Lisa W — Google review
Mirador del Valle in Toledo is absolutely breathtaking. Perched across the Tagus River, it offers a panoramic view of the historic city that feels almost surreal, golden stone buildings, cathedral spires, and ancient walls glowing in the sunlight or sparkling in the evening lights. The view alone is worth the trip to Toledo. I visited with my best friend, and it was one of the most memorable moments of our time in Spain. Standing there together, overlooking the old city, we felt the quiet beauty and deep history radiating from every corner. It’s a perfect spot for reflection, conversation, and capturing unforgettable photos. There’s a peacefulness at Mirador del Valle that allows you to pause and take it all in: the past, the present, and the joy of shared experiences. The site is accessible by car, or a scenic walk if you’re up for it. I highly recommend timing your visit around sunset for the most magical lighting. Whether you’re traveling solo or with someone close, this viewpoint is a must-see. It’s not just about the view, but the feeling you get while looking at it. For us, it was pure wonder -- an unforgettable highlight of our trip.

Amazing view point to have a lovely panoramic view of Toledo city and the Tagus river that flows around it. Toledo, Spain, an ancient city known for its historical, cultural, and architectural significance. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Parking available, so you don't have to walk. Popular place, lots of tourists and locals. Great place for photography. Level terrain. Free entry. Good wheelchair access.

The Mirador del Valle in Toledo, Spain, offers a breathtaking panoramic view that is nothing short of awe-inspiring. During our family visit in January 2024, we were captivated by the stunning vistas of the historic city, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The viewpoint, easily accessible, served as an ideal starting point for our walk around Toledo. The history of the city was palpable, with its blend of Christian, Islamic, and Jewish influences evident in the architecture. We took numerous photos, each one capturing the unique charm of the city from different angles. The Mirador del Valle not only provided a scenic backdrop but also served as a gateway to immerse ourselves in Toledo's rich cultural heritage. Our experience was made all the more enjoyable by the well-maintained facilities and the friendly locals. The visit was a highlight of our trip, offering a profound appreciation for the historical significance and natural beauty of Toledo. I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to the Mirador del Valle for anyone seeking a memorable and enriching experience.

Restaurant
Taberna el Botero is a traditional Castilian tavern located near the famous Cathedral of Toledo. The mellow rooms are adorned with art, creating an elegant atmosphere to enjoy cocktails and share elegantly plated meat and fish dishes. The restaurant offers a modern twist on typical dishes, including homemade croquettes, venison, oxtail lasagna, and charcoal-seared cod. It's recommended to book in advance due to its popularity.
Had all the intention to try the tasting menu but alas, a late breakfast killed that thought. Did ala carte instead - 2 starters and a main - and it was one of the best meals during my Spain tour. Food was fusion of sorts, with a tad of asian influence: - The burrata salad was aesthetically pleasing and refreshing. It had little balls of parmesan ice cream, how unique and delicious too! - Charcoal cod could be better if the batter was thinner, but size was quite substantial for a starter and it was quite nice, so all good. - Carcamusa, then meat was very tender and the pork rinds added texture. Overall excellent meal, with attentive service. Highly recommended!
J L — Google review
Everything here that we had was yummy but on the expensive side. Pork taco and 2 scallops were really good tapas. They also gave us baguette mini crackers and cheese and olives which were a great starter. Felt like fine dining tapas.
Arushi G — Google review
Ok so let’s be clear. This is one of the finest restaurant in Toledo and there aren’t that many. Staff is very friendly and professional. The location is perfect. And the food incredible. Really. This South American / Japanese / Spanish fusion makes wonders. I am just not giving it five stars because I think overall most of the dishes are too salty. We went there two nights in a row and both nights were so thirsty all night after our meal. It’s a shame because the products are of good quality and their taste deserve to be pushed upfront rather than hidden behind salt. Nevertheless this place is a must in Toledo.
Petri P — Google review
This place leveled up the whole experiment Toledo . The cocktails were amazing, it’s strong and delicious (bartender made it everything on point !) We tried the tasting croquettes, pork needles taco , pork and the cod confit .. The croquettes were delicious. It’s crispy at the outside and soft in the inside . It taste nothing like what I had before its blast in my mouth . The cod confit paired the curry sauce are well balances and the fish is fresh and well seasoned. The pork in the hot stones .. chef kissssses ! It’s a great dish to pair with bread . The dining experience was amazing and the man who served us was very attentive and patiently explained every dishes we ordered. This restaurant deserved more recognition. Will visit again
Felicia T — Google review
I love love love this restaurant. The food is inventive and beautifully prepared. The menu is essentially a contemporary take on Spanish tapas, but that is merely a starting point for the kitchen. The mad genius chefs here have take inspiration from flavors and dishes from all over the world, especially from Asian cuisines. Service was beyond friendly and made me feel so at home. The setting is like a cozy, well-appointed country tavern. I ordered the 45€ set menu, which included: 1) A glass of cava 2) Delicious, savory beetroot bread serves with volcanic black sea salt, virgin olive oil, and spicy olive oil 3) Duck dumpling with mango hoisin, lime aioli, and pico de gallo 4) Smoked Russian Salad Panipuri - this was their fantastically creative and wonderfully delicious take on the Indian panipuri: a thin slice of guanciale (cured pork cheek) draped over a crispy puff pastry filled with a spicy piparras jalapeno cream. The small bite was then topped with micro greens and flowers. I loved this bite! 5) Kimchi corquette filled with red curry butter, topped with a smoked sardine and micro sprouts. The sardine with flambéed tableside. You always get bonus points for bringing out a blowtorch 🔥 6) Cod confit, battered in squid ink and then fried tempura-style. Finished with braised leeks and yellow curry cream aioli 7) Oxtail Lasagna made with wonton pasta, sansho pepper, and bechamel, Topped with kimchi sauce, basil gel, and black olive powder 8) Peruvian saltado pork with yellow chilli mayonnaise and mint, topped with crispy paper made from potato and black truffle. The dish was served in a heavy stone mortar bowl. This course was sooo savory! So many spices and so much flavor! 9) ”Lemon Pie” - A cookie tart containing lemon cream and lemon meringue, topped with popping lemon rice balls (think Pop Rocks candy), and served on a lemon reduction. So fun, so delicious. The perfect light segue into the dessert portion of the menu 10) "Bad Luck” - This dessert is so named because it's presented as an ice cream cone that has sadly fallen upside down on the ground. Hence, bad luck! However, when the waiter cuts into the ice cream, hidden inside is a deconstructed manchego cheese cake with mango fruit. Served with dark chocolate cream. A perfect finish to a magical evening

This place is phenomenal. I originally planned on going to la cabala (a michelin guide restaurant in the area) but they were only serving a set menu at a fixed price of 88 euros… thankfully I found this place because the food was exceptional and a good price. I sat at the bar and ordered sangria and a couple of tapas. The pork needle tacos and charcoal cod were some of the best dishes i’ve had in spain. The tacos were juicy and the perfect combination of fresh mint, sweet pineapple and savory pork. The cod was rich, melted in my mouth, and so flavorful it almost felt like a dessert. These two dishes were enough to fill me up and I was shocked by how delicious this food was. I will be thinking about this place for quite some time. i’ve seen a few reviews about service but this was great service compared to other places i’ve visited in europe and honestly good things come to those who wait ;)

The previous review from Erick Tseng completely matches our experience at Taberna El Botero. We had the exact same tastings menu and were equally impressed by the food, service and ambience of the restaurant. Our server Ivan could not have been more charming or helpful. And the food was spectacular and inventive. Not only was Botero our favorite restaurant in Toledo, it was our favorite restaurant during our two weeks in Spain!

Cervecería La Abadía is a unique brewpub housed in the 16th-century Crafts House building, offering a maze-like dining experience within its original stone passages and vaulted cellars. The menu features an extensive selection of tapas and other shareable plates, complemented by a great variety of craft beers. This hidden gem attracts both locals and travelers with its budget-friendly yet delicious offerings.
Great tapas and excellent beers! The place has such a hidden spectacular underground atmosphere, the toilet is probably one of the most unique places I ever used, with rooms that look like egg shells! Many tapas choices from the menu, and the portions are quite large, you can actually get full by having tapas only. We enjoyed it so much, and would like to for more!

Great atmosphere, the place is like a cave. the restroom is really special. Food is nice too. the waitress we had was not very responsive, probably partially due to she doesn't speak English. but she also doesn't like to smile.

Beautiful restaurant with an amazing atmosphere. The food is delicious. Waiting time for being seated also isn't very long. The toilet area is also beautifully decorated. The only complaint I have is that due to it's popularity, the waiting times for serving your food and drinks is longer than usual.

Unfortunately we found this place on the way back to Madrid. It is very busy. The beer is locally made, amazing taste, the food is even better. Very good place. And it is in a historical building, that gives you a chance to touch the history

Food was very good. If I could complain it would be amount of fat on grilled meat I ordered. But staff was friendly and fast, beer and food was tasty and place is very unique and worth to visit.

Beer here is flavorful, well-crafted, and reasonably priced. Generous samples let you try a variety without committing, which is a big plus. The establishment felt a bit understaffed and I felt a lot of stares during my visit, but my bartender was warm.

Definitely a must go place to visit in your first night in Toledo. It brings up the atmosphere. I had even puppeteers greeting visitors while dining. Tapas bar
Nestled on Calle Santa Fe, El Trébol is a must-visit brewery that captures the essence of Toledo's vibrant culinary scene. Known for its signature dish, the Bomba Trebol—a delightful potato filled with minced meat, peppers, aioli, and a zesty tomato sauce—this spot has become a favorite among locals and tourists alike. With its charming outdoor terrace often bustling with patrons, it's an ideal place to unwind with a refreshing drink as you savor this iconic tapa.
Was looking for a quick bite to eat and the reviews led us here. Everyone was right!! Bombas were my favorite and then there was the shrimp croquette, the carcamusas and the wild boar were all excellent . We decided we needed greens so Greek Salad it was which was also good! Reasonable prices and great food - what else do you need?

The food is amazing. The service could be very good or very bad. Had both experiences. In the lunch I was in a table outside and the 2 guys serving there were amazing, very busy but very good service. Dinner time, we were inside and the girl that was serving forgot some stuff, we order again and left us there for some time then she came back and order our stuff but the table beside us got their food anyway, even though the order after us. In fairness it was VERY busy and SHE WAS ON HER OWN in the floor, looked like she was the only one running very much. I’ve worked in restaurant before, I know how it works. I don’t blame her I’m just telling my experience, I hope it helps.

We went to El Trevor restaurant and had an amazing experience. Our waiter Darwin was the best, excellent service, fast like an eagle, and very attentive. The food and drinks came right away with almost no waiting. Everything was well served, the prices were incredible, and the quality was outstanding. The beers brewed in-house are excellent, we tried both the IPA and the Ale, and they were fantastic. From the menu, La Bomba is a must-try, full of flavor and highly recommended. The tapas selection is also great, with very good prices and amazing taste. And don’t miss the tinto de verano with lemon foam, it’s refreshing and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place. Without a doubt, we’ll come back whenever we’re in Toledo. Truly a great experience, especially the food, drinks, and service!

This is 'The Bomb' You might wonder whether a potato with minced meat and tomato sauce is even worth trying, let alone whether it could be a restaurant's signature dish. So I was skeptical about trying a 'Bomba'. But I wasn't disappointed. To call this just a potato with minced meat and tomato sauce would be an insult. A lot of thought has gone into this dish; the flavors are balanced and the texture keeps it interesting. I think the potato is fried because it is crispy on the outside, but there is definitely no fried taste. The filling is flavorful. I also had the salmorejo. This cold tomato soup (I'm not sure if it contained red pepper) can only be successful if you have the perfect ingredients in the right proportions. And that was the case. Based on these two dishes, the five stars are well deserved.

Lovely meal here with the delicious Carcamusas and Bomba and prawn croquette. Food was so tasty and staff were efficient and kind. Sat inside so we didn’t have to wait at all for a table. Dined here at 1:30 pm.

This is the most popular place in town. No reservations, just step in line if you want to sit outside. Going at an off hour can help. It’s casual, not gourmet but fun and the food is tasty. We had a tinto de verano and a sangria. We tried ham and shrimp croquettes and a Greek salad. Good for a quick lunch or dinner and inexpensive.
Jan B — Google review
We had the same experience as another reviewer. Great food. Great service at lunch, overwhelmed server at dinner. I too worked years in restaurant service. I loved watching our lunch server really hustle to serve her eight full tables and do it with a smile. I loved the little elbow and smile she gave me to order a pint instead of a caña. The young lady in the evening could not handle the full ground floor she had with about twelve tables and the place buzzing on a MONDAY night. And she pegged us for American right away and was ready to be extra surly if we wasted her time - which we didn’t. Toledo has a vibe like that I think. It gets so slammed by daytrippin Madrid tourists, that the people you interact with seem a little short. As if there is no real city life to counteract the endless tourism they have to deal with. Anyway, El Trebol is the place to go. Great food and drinks, a way more imaginative menu than the usual. Salads!

Situated on the ground floor of the charming Hotel San Juan de los Reyes, this restaurant offers elaborately prepared traditional dishes with a modern twist. The menu features a wide variety of options including specialties like mollejas, perdiz a la toledana, and solomillo de cerdo.
Beautifully designed restaurant with a warm and elegant atmosphere. The food was very tasty and well-prepared — everything felt thoughtfully put together and part of a cohesive, enjoyable dining experience.

Located inside Hotel San Juan De Los Reyes, this restaurant looked promising but we're disappointed. Food good enough but service wasn't. Mainly because there was a big group arrived at same opening time as other small tables liked ours. Servers focused mostly on them resulting really slow service for other guests. Also, echoing noise from group chatters significantly reduced enjoyment of our dining experience. I believed a better seating arrangement could have easily solved the problem.

Amazing food, one of the best meals we’ve ever had. Great quality and portion size. Along with very good service, the whole experience was unbeatable. And the wine was also very good, highly recommended.

My friend and I enjoyed a great meal here on the outside terrace. We booked for 8.30 and had a great tasty meal and a lovely experience. I had the venison with pear and it was so delicious. Lovely and crusty on the outside but pink I side, every mouthful was delicious. My friend had the partridge cannelloni, which was a single long tube served with baby corn. We enjoyed the little extras the plate of cheese and olives, the tomato juice and delicious rich chocolates and they made it a very lovely experience. The desserts we selected brioche french toast with cinnamon ice cream and apple tarte tatin with white chocolate soup were delicious. The staff were very professional and friendly.

I was their first customer, and only customer until 2pm, and thus got very prompt and attentive service. I ordered the fish stew, wild boar and cheesecake. All the dishes were fantastic. Best of all, the total cost before tips was only 23.5 euro! Worth every cents.

Great for coeliac (despite the restaurant name!) with many of the dishes specifically available or adaptable for gluten free. Kitchen appears to be trying hard and food is decent but not quite hitting the right notes. Very quiet with not much atmosphere on a Saturday night.

We really enjoyed our lunch here. I checked the restaurant before coming and wanted to try it, as it has good reviews. We never had carcamusas before, so we ordered it here and it was delicious. We had a glass of local wine - Protocolo - very good!!!Our daughter went for kids menu, which was macarrones con tomate, croquetas, and lovely brownie for the dissert. Splendid customer service, very elegant and pleasent.

The most amazing meal I have had in Spain. Service was perfect and the recommendation were spot on.. We had the patridge, deer, cod and tuna belly.. to end the meal, we had the most spectacular marzipan brownie with passion fruit sorbet and white chocolate. Both of us are not fans of marzipan but it was divine. The combination was fabulous. We had tapas portions and price was extremely reasonable. Fine dining experience for every budget. A must try. Will definitely come back..

Restaurante Iván Cerdeño-Cigarral del Ángel offers a culinary journey that beautifully intertwines the rich history and stunning landscapes of Toledo. Nestled just outside the city walls, this two-Michelin-starred gem is housed in a former estate of poet Fina de Calderón, surrounded by lush gardens and breathtaking views of the Tagus River.
I had a wonderful meal here with a large group of friends. The food was consistently excellent throughout the meal, never boring, and with a mix of more classically prepared food (the last savory dish was an impeccably prepared pigeon with tater tots, also a sort of mushroom "stew" was a crowd favorite) and creative dishes (my favorite was a cauliflower "cheesecake" that was presented at around the middle of the menu, but there were also many creative small dishes at the start of the meal that hit the mark, some of which were playful takes on classic Spanish cuisine). The sommelier suggested very nice wines from nearby vineyards. The service was excellent (we were a large group of loud Americans, and the service team was professional and friendly) , and the front of the house was very accommodating when we wanted to make changes to our reservation just days before the meal. We ate during the lunch hour, and given how beautiful the landscape is, I would recommend this as opposed to dinner. The grounds are beautiful and it was nice to spend some time walking around before and after the meal. We chose the Monte y Ribera menu at lunch time, but during the week they also have a smaller lunch menu as an option. It is worth the train ride from Madrid to have a meal here and do some walking around the old town of Toledo.

It was our first time in Toledo and this restaurant made it special. It has minimalist and elegant decor, located in such a beautiful garden. The place was already an appetizer before we even started eating! The staff are attentive and are knowledgeable about the food and drinks being served. Their smiles demonstrated enthusiasm. The food was extraordinarily tasty. I want to emphasize the great focus on texture and variety - which made every dish enjoyable. My personal favorite was the pigeon meat which was cooked perfectly. The wines served were all one-of-kind especially the one made for the restaurant, and the one from Andalucia. Everything comes together and brought us to a wonderful experience in Toledo. And they catered for my friend who is lactose intolerant - despite our failure to inform them in advance.

The food here was absolutely stunning. Somehow rivalled by the excellent location in a beautiful old building. A restaurant well worthy of 2 Michelin stars. The food showed impeccable technique and was creative. The wines unexpected and sommelier was knowledgeable and he adapted the wines to guest tastes. Will be returning.

Really great. Deserves it's stars. Food was spectacular and the service was delightful. We did find that even the 15 course menu was a bit too much. Will definitely be back, but will go for the 12 course next time!

What can I say? We ate the most beautiful food we ever saw. We drank (a bit to much) very interesting wines. Staff was excellent. We had a great time. We choose the large tasting menu with in total about 20 small modern dishes all based on classic Spanish cuisine. The wine pairing consisted of 12 glasses. What I found really interesting is that in the wine pairing there were a few sherry's and also some older vintages. I tasted quite a few wines I never had before so I learned a lot. All this comes at a price. However, it was well worth it.

Great experience. The food is very good and devinitively keeps up with the spectacular view of Toledo. The Cheese, Spices and Saffron dessert was certainly one of the best I have ever had. The service is very harmonious and took good care of me as a single unaccompanied guest. Thank you very much!

[After giving it some thought, I have modified my original scoring. While food and table service are indeed outstanding, we would not return to Iván Cerdeno nor recommend the place to a personal friend, so it would be quite inconsistent to award it a 5 score with google. It's simply questionable hospitality to put guests who booked the biggest menus weeks ago at the worst table of the whole restaurant, while the good ones went to locals who only appeared for a very limited amount of time and consumed little, i.e., mostly these tables were kept empty for their comfort. I will not spend again more than 400 EUR with an elevator view, sorry.] I recommend any locals to choose among the many gourmet options in Madrid.] My original five stars referred to cooking (in our opinion, deserves more than one Michelin star; except for one course, everything was totally outstanding, the one course was excellent, but fell short of outstanding) and to service (very friendly and efficient). I would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to any foodie. That being said, I do NOT recommend it for any special date. We booked weeks ago, specifying in the reservation that we will go for the full menu, and they still put us on the worst table in the whole restaurant (check our photos with the view to the lovely elevator in the background). Several tables with a view to the city were empty when we arrived, occupied later for a short time, and freed much time before we left (as the customers lucky enough to get these hardly consumed anything). Worse, one much better table than ours remained empty during all the time of our stay. Adding insult to injury, in reply to a message complaining in private about this situation, they told us that thus far they considered our table one of the best. Well, if you are an elevator geek, maybe! Anyway, cooking in this place is superb, and it is a real pity that reservation services fall so much short of cooking standards. Still, if you wish to eat there, I urge you to clearly insist while reserving that you want a good table; we were naive enough to believe that they would follow standard practices, which they failed to do; you'll see the consequences in our photos with the lovely elevator background.
