Spanish restaurant
Cervecería La Abadía is a unique brewpub housed in the 16th-century Crafts House building, offering a maze-like dining experience within its original stone passages and vaulted cellars. The menu features an extensive selection of tapas and other shareable plates, complemented by a great variety of craft beers. This hidden gem attracts both locals and travelers with its budget-friendly yet delicious offerings.
Great tapas and excellent beers! The place has such a hidden spectacular underground atmosphere, the toilet is probably one of the most unique places I ever used, with rooms that look like egg shells! Many tapas choices from the menu, and the portions are quite large, you can actually get full by having tapas only. We enjoyed it so much, and would like to for more!
Su N — Google review
Great atmosphere, the place is like a cave. the restroom is really special. Food is nice too. the waitress we had was not very responsive, probably partially due to she doesn't speak English. but she also doesn't like to smile.
Qing L — Google review
Beautiful restaurant with an amazing atmosphere. The food is delicious. Waiting time for being seated also isn't very long. The toilet area is also beautifully decorated. The only complaint I have is that due to it's popularity, the waiting times for serving your food and drinks is longer than usual.
Thijmen V — Google review
The Iberico pork knuckle was fabulous indulgence to end your trip in Toledo. The Cod fish was small portion which should be improved. Dinner starts 7,30 pm while snacks available as entre.
Louie — Google review
Unfortunately we found this place on the way back to Madrid. It is very busy. The beer is locally made, amazing taste, the food is even better. Very good place. And it is in a historical building, that gives you a chance to touch the history
DNK — Google review
Food was very good. If I could complain it would be amount of fat on grilled meat I ordered. But staff was friendly and fast, beer and food was tasty and place is very unique and worth to visit.
Tomas T — Google review
Beer here is flavorful, well-crafted, and reasonably priced. Generous samples let you try a variety without committing, which is a big plus. The establishment felt a bit understaffed and I felt a lot of stares during my visit, but my bartender was warm.
Sushi C — Google review
Just arrived in Toledo from Barcelona and boy are we thirsty and hungry. Being a weekend and no reservations, we stumbled upon this place and after asking if they had space, we were seated and had a couple of beers in no time. Decided to go with the burger meal which was delicious and filling. Service is good, friendly and punctual. The decor is clean comfy and inviting. Good choice for our first intro to Toledo

Tavern
Taberna el Botero is a traditional Castilian tavern located near the famous Cathedral of Toledo. The mellow rooms are adorned with art, creating an elegant atmosphere to enjoy cocktails and share elegantly plated meat and fish dishes. The restaurant offers a modern twist on typical dishes, including homemade croquettes, venison, oxtail lasagna, and charcoal-seared cod. It's recommended to book in advance due to its popularity.
Had all the intention to try the tasting menu but alas, a late breakfast killed that thought. Did ala carte instead - 2 starters and a main - and it was one of the best meals during my Spain tour. Food was fusion of sorts, with a tad of asian influence: - The burrata salad was aesthetically pleasing and refreshing. It had little balls of parmesan ice cream, how unique and delicious too! - Charcoal cod could be better if the batter was thinner, but size was quite substantial for a starter and it was quite nice, so all good. - Carcamusa, then meat was very tender and the pork rinds added texture. Overall excellent meal, with attentive service. Highly recommended!
J L — Google review
Everything here that we had was yummy but on the expensive side. Pork taco and 2 scallops were really good tapas. They also gave us baguette mini crackers and cheese and olives which were a great starter. Felt like fine dining tapas.
Arushi G — Google review
Ok so let’s be clear. This is one of the finest restaurant in Toledo and there aren’t that many. Staff is very friendly and professional. The location is perfect. And the food incredible. Really. This South American / Japanese / Spanish fusion makes wonders. I am just not giving it five stars because I think overall most of the dishes are too salty. We went there two nights in a row and both nights were so thirsty all night after our meal. It’s a shame because the products are of good quality and their taste deserve to be pushed upfront rather than hidden behind salt. Nevertheless this place is a must in Toledo.
Petri P — Google review
This place leveled up the whole experiment Toledo . The cocktails were amazing, it’s strong and delicious (bartender made it everything on point !) We tried the tasting croquettes, pork needles taco , pork and the cod confit .. The croquettes were delicious. It’s crispy at the outside and soft in the inside . It taste nothing like what I had before its blast in my mouth . The cod confit paired the curry sauce are well balances and the fish is fresh and well seasoned. The pork in the hot stones .. chef kissssses ! It’s a great dish to pair with bread . The dining experience was amazing and the man who served us was very attentive and patiently explained every dishes we ordered. This restaurant deserved more recognition. Will visit again
Felicia T — Google review
I love love love this restaurant. The food is inventive and beautifully prepared. The menu is essentially a contemporary take on Spanish tapas, but that is merely a starting point for the kitchen. The mad genius chefs here have take inspiration from flavors and dishes from all over the world, especially from Asian cuisines. Service was beyond friendly and made me feel so at home. The setting is like a cozy, well-appointed country tavern. I ordered the 45€ set menu, which included: 1) A glass of cava 2) Delicious, savory beetroot bread serves with volcanic black sea salt, virgin olive oil, and spicy olive oil 3) Duck dumpling with mango hoisin, lime aioli, and pico de gallo 4) Smoked Russian Salad Panipuri - this was their fantastically creative and wonderfully delicious take on the Indian panipuri: a thin slice of guanciale (cured pork cheek) draped over a crispy puff pastry filled with a spicy piparras jalapeno cream. The small bite was then topped with micro greens and flowers. I loved this bite! 5) Kimchi corquette filled with red curry butter, topped with a smoked sardine and micro sprouts. The sardine with flambéed tableside. You always get bonus points for bringing out a blowtorch 🔥 6) Cod confit, battered in squid ink and then fried tempura-style. Finished with braised leeks and yellow curry cream aioli 7) Oxtail Lasagna made with wonton pasta, sansho pepper, and bechamel, Topped with kimchi sauce, basil gel, and black olive powder 8) Peruvian saltado pork with yellow chilli mayonnaise and mint, topped with crispy paper made from potato and black truffle. The dish was served in a heavy stone mortar bowl. This course was sooo savory! So many spices and so much flavor! 9) ”Lemon Pie” - A cookie tart containing lemon cream and lemon meringue, topped with popping lemon rice balls (think Pop Rocks candy), and served on a lemon reduction. So fun, so delicious. The perfect light segue into the dessert portion of the menu 10) "Bad Luck” - This dessert is so named because it's presented as an ice cream cone that has sadly fallen upside down on the ground. Hence, bad luck! However, when the waiter cuts into the ice cream, hidden inside is a deconstructed manchego cheese cake with mango fruit. Served with dark chocolate cream. A perfect finish to a magical evening

This place is phenomenal. I originally planned on going to la cabala (a michelin guide restaurant in the area) but they were only serving a set menu at a fixed price of 88 euros… thankfully I found this place because the food was exceptional and a good price. I sat at the bar and ordered sangria and a couple of tapas. The pork needle tacos and charcoal cod were some of the best dishes i’ve had in spain. The tacos were juicy and the perfect combination of fresh mint, sweet pineapple and savory pork. The cod was rich, melted in my mouth, and so flavorful it almost felt like a dessert. These two dishes were enough to fill me up and I was shocked by how delicious this food was. I will be thinking about this place for quite some time. i’ve seen a few reviews about service but this was great service compared to other places i’ve visited in europe and honestly good things come to those who wait ;)

The previous review from Erick Tseng completely matches our experience at Taberna El Botero. We had the exact same tastings menu and were equally impressed by the food, service and ambience of the restaurant. Our server Ivan could not have been more charming or helpful. And the food was spectacular and inventive. Not only was Botero our favorite restaurant in Toledo, it was our favorite restaurant during our two weeks in Spain!

Restaurant
Restaurante Victor Sánchez-Beato is a small and intimate venue in Toledo that offers an exceptional dining experience. The avant-garde meat and seafood plates are prepared as part of a multi-course tasting menu, with the chef and staff creating each dish in front of the guests. The optional wine pairing is highly recommended, offering exquisite selections to complement the meal.
One of the most delicious and amazing restaurants I’ve ever visited in the world and the very best in Toledo. The food was phenomenal, and the wine pairings were intriguing and greatly paired with. The pricing was very reasonable. Little difficult to get a reservation but not impossible. Very intimate seating still with plenty of space. They explained everything in Spanish and again in English.
Josh L — Google review
The concept and experience enjoyable, some of the food preparation seemed to be from the pages of an alchemy book. As to the food, good, pretty and plentiful but not somehow quite to my taste. The souce of the meat dish was the most vivid and so my favourite, and the dessert was nice. The service is attentive but it took a bit too long, 2 1/2 hours, and the last hour was for cofee, post meal drink and paying, of which I only wanted to pay.
Inga K — Google review
This restaurant is a great dining experience. And I really mean experience. It’s small, so everyone sits at the pass and you can watch the excellent chefs prepare all the plates. The menu was a surprise and absolutely a pleasant one. The matching wines were bold and unexpected, but delicious (cheap too). The food was excellent, just see the photos. Left very satisfied. 10/10 would recommend and return when next in Toledo.

Professional. Tasty. Great pairing wines. Cool concept. Unbeatable price!!! I totally recommend this experience, it is a unique value for money experience :)
William — Google review
An amazing tasting menu in an intimate omakase style solidly anchored in Spanish traditions where each dish takes shape in front of your eyes. It's very rare that a chef of Victor's caliber is willing to openly share recipes, techniques, and the source of key ingredients. A reasonably priced and well curated wine pairing enhanced the dining experience. Thank you Chef for a memorable experience in beautiful Toledo! I already bought a siphon to replicate your delicate broth, and I'm patiently waiting for my first mojama to finish curing.
Victor C — Google review
Amazing 7 course tapas with 5 wine pairings. He prepares the food right in front of you. Michelin quality restaurant. Best restaurant in Toledo Spain…our best meal ever! Limited seating…reservations a must.
Jeff D — Google review
Very friendly atmosphere, good quality food. Rice with jabalí, deer and tuna were excellent. Also the desert was a perfect ending for the meal. I ordered a wine pairing and it pleasantly surprised me. The bill was 74€ which seemed low for the quality and the type of the restaurant. One of the few higher end places in Toledo.
Artem P — Google review
Spectacular! This was a fantastic dining experience that really made our stay in Toledo memorable. Victor and the team treated us to a delicious multi course meal (and took into account some dietary requirements with ease). Everything was prepared in front of us, and then as each dish was severed was explained to us in English and to the rest of the diners in Spanish. We also undertook the wine pairing menu - each glass was a full glass! Excellent value, excellent experience - I absolutely encourage you to try for yourself when in Toledo!

Restaurante Iván Cerdeño-Cigarral del Ángel offers a culinary journey that beautifully intertwines the rich history and stunning landscapes of Toledo. Nestled just outside the city walls, this two-Michelin-starred gem is housed in a former estate of poet Fina de Calderón, surrounded by lush gardens and breathtaking views of the Tagus River.
I had a wonderful meal here with a large group of friends. The food was consistently excellent throughout the meal, never boring, and with a mix of more classically prepared food (the last savory dish was an impeccably prepared pigeon with tater tots, also a sort of mushroom "stew" was a crowd favorite) and creative dishes (my favorite was a cauliflower "cheesecake" that was presented at around the middle of the menu, but there were also many creative small dishes at the start of the meal that hit the mark, some of which were playful takes on classic Spanish cuisine). The sommelier suggested very nice wines from nearby vineyards. The service was excellent (we were a large group of loud Americans, and the service team was professional and friendly) , and the front of the house was very accommodating when we wanted to make changes to our reservation just days before the meal. We ate during the lunch hour, and given how beautiful the landscape is, I would recommend this as opposed to dinner. The grounds are beautiful and it was nice to spend some time walking around before and after the meal. We chose the Monte y Ribera menu at lunch time, but during the week they also have a smaller lunch menu as an option. It is worth the train ride from Madrid to have a meal here and do some walking around the old town of Toledo.

It was our first time in Toledo and this restaurant made it special. It has minimalist and elegant decor, located in such a beautiful garden. The place was already an appetizer before we even started eating! The staff are attentive and are knowledgeable about the food and drinks being served. Their smiles demonstrated enthusiasm. The food was extraordinarily tasty. I want to emphasize the great focus on texture and variety - which made every dish enjoyable. My personal favorite was the pigeon meat which was cooked perfectly. The wines served were all one-of-kind especially the one made for the restaurant, and the one from Andalucia. Everything comes together and brought us to a wonderful experience in Toledo. And they catered for my friend who is lactose intolerant - despite our failure to inform them in advance.
Tyron S — Google review
The food here was absolutely stunning. Somehow rivalled by the excellent location in a beautiful old building. A restaurant well worthy of 2 Michelin stars. The food showed impeccable technique and was creative. The wines unexpected and sommelier was knowledgeable and he adapted the wines to guest tastes. Will be returning.
Jason P — Google review
An amazing experience. Hope to be able to come back soon.
Sylvie S — Google review
Really great. Deserves it's stars. Food was spectacular and the service was delightful. We did find that even the 15 course menu was a bit too much. Will definitely be back, but will go for the 12 course next time!
Paul H — Google review
What can I say? We ate the most beautiful food we ever saw. We drank (a bit to much) very interesting wines. Staff was excellent. We had a great time. We choose the large tasting menu with in total about 20 small modern dishes all based on classic Spanish cuisine. The wine pairing consisted of 12 glasses. What I found really interesting is that in the wine pairing there were a few sherry's and also some older vintages. I tasted quite a few wines I never had before so I learned a lot. All this comes at a price. However, it was well worth it.
Niels L — Google review
Great experience. The food is very good and devinitively keeps up with the spectacular view of Toledo. The Cheese, Spices and Saffron dessert was certainly one of the best I have ever had. The service is very harmonious and took good care of me as a single unaccompanied guest. Thank you very much!
Simon ( — Google review
[After giving it some thought, I have modified my original scoring. While food and table service are indeed outstanding, we would not return to Iván Cerdeno nor recommend the place to a personal friend, so it would be quite inconsistent to award it a 5 score with google. It's simply questionable hospitality to put guests who booked the biggest menus weeks ago at the worst table of the whole restaurant, while the good ones went to locals who only appeared for a very limited amount of time and consumed little, i.e., mostly these tables were kept empty for their comfort. I will not spend again more than 400 EUR with an elevator view, sorry.] I recommend any locals to choose among the many gourmet options in Madrid.] My original five stars referred to cooking (in our opinion, deserves more than one Michelin star; except for one course, everything was totally outstanding, the one course was excellent, but fell short of outstanding) and to service (very friendly and efficient). I would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to any foodie. That being said, I do NOT recommend it for any special date. We booked weeks ago, specifying in the reservation that we will go for the full menu, and they still put us on the worst table in the whole restaurant (check our photos with the view to the lovely elevator in the background). Several tables with a view to the city were empty when we arrived, occupied later for a short time, and freed much time before we left (as the customers lucky enough to get these hardly consumed anything). Worse, one much better table than ours remained empty during all the time of our stay. Adding insult to injury, in reply to a message complaining in private about this situation, they told us that thus far they considered our table one of the best. Well, if you are an elevator geek, maybe! Anyway, cooking in this place is superb, and it is a real pity that reservation services fall so much short of cooking standards. Still, if you wish to eat there, I urge you to clearly insist while reserving that you want a good table; we were naive enough to believe that they would follow standard practices, which they failed to do; you'll see the consequences in our photos with the lovely elevator background.

Nestled in the heart of Toledo's historic district, Bar Ludeña is a beloved eatery that captures the essence of traditional Spanish cuisine. Known for its hearty and flavorful dishes, this charming spot offers an array of local favorites, including their signature Carcamusas—a delightful stew made with tender pork loin simmered in a rich tomato sauce with peas. This dish has become synonymous with Toledo and is a must-try for any visitor.
Authentic! A charming and authentic spot with a delightful little terrace. The atmosphere was cozy, our waitress was super sweet and welcoming (I believe she might have been Latina). The carcamosas was delicious. We come back for sure!

We visited this place based on recommendation, in a weekend on a Bank Holiday. As expected was super crowded and very busy at lunch time. The menu we had was very tasty and the bar staff very prompt in providing services. My only issue was the customer traffic handling. They need to come up with a better system of handling big crowds of customers. I had to wait inside for one hour till I got a spot at the bar. To be seated you have to leave your name at a waiter and wait for them to call you, that is if you'll hear it through all the noise going on around. If not, well... you may miss your opportunity. I would return here but definitely not in busy days.
Raul G — Google review
To our surprise the restaurant was open on Monday night 😀. The menu is perfect sized:starters (tapas) fish, meat and salads on one side of A4 paper and on the back vine. Very quick and service minded staff. A pleasant surprise to see that in a super touristic town there are some more local anchored restaurants with very tasty food and prices that I found absolutely fear. Thank you so much for your hospitality.
Leif G — Google review
Bar Ludeña — the birthplace of the legendary “carcamusas”, a saucy, meaty love story between tender pork, peas, and tomatoes. Locals whisper that this dish was first cooked up here in the mid-20th century, when hungry Toledians needed something hearty to soak up their wine… Tucked into a centuries-old stone building in Toledo’s old quarter, Bar Ludeña oozes that classic Castilian charm of wooden beams, tiled floors, and the kind of walls that could tell stories about knights, poets, and probably one too many drunken sword fights. Legend has it the bar’s name honors a local family that served both tapas and trouble (depending on who you asked). Inside, the energy is warm, loud, and authentically Spanish — locals clinking glasses, waiters zipping through narrow aisles with the confidence of matadors, and the heavenly aroma of simmering tomato and pork filling every corner. Order the Menu del Día with a choice of its Toledian carcamusas as the mains — rich, saucy, slightly spicy, and downright flirtatious. Pair it with a glass of local red, and you’ll swear Toledo just winked at you. Sit by the bar if you want the full Toledian experience — that’s where the locals banter, gossip, and debate who makes the best carcamusas in town. **The course meal comes with two breads in basket but if you want an extra it costs €1.20/each. Cerveza sin alcohol (0.0 alcohol beer) is available as choice of drink as part of the menu. Choice of dessert: Flan / Arroz con leche (rice pudding) or ice cream
The T — Google review
Very friendly service. The food was delicious and tasted like homemade food. The food from Bar Ludeña will warm up your heart. The carcamusas meat was so tender that my gf who doesn't like fatty meat enjoys all parts of the pork here. And, my favorite was their revuelto de setas con jamon y gambas, very flavorful. Lastly, get their arroz con leche! Sweet yet refreshing. The lemon & cinnamon was a great combination of flavor.
Sueann L — Google review
The Carcamusa is said to have originated here. So I went in search of the birthplace of this dish, which consists mainly of pork, tomato sauce and peas. What can you expect from something like this? Well, actually, this dish turned out very well. The pork was tender, the sauce had some spice but was not too spicy. The piece of bread with it could have been better, though. Just delicious.
J. A — Google review
If you want an authentic Spanish experience that is very local in flavor this is the place for you. A real hole in the wall gem. Because the restaurant is small and only seats a limited few get there early when they open or there will be a wait. We were there in off season and got right in but people were waiting in the bar when we left. It’s worth the wait. We enjoyed a ensalada with roasted red peppers and tuna, Carcamusa (pork stew and specialty of the house) and ham and cheese croquettes. All very good. And so reasonably priced. Enjoy!
Jim P — Google review
We had a fantastic lunch at Bar Ludena. We timed it just right, when we arrived the bar was reasonably quiet (not long opened and still setting up for lunch), so we grabbed a beer and a tapas and sat on a tall table outside in the courtyard., This was going to be a short stop however as the place got busier and we continued to sample their food we stayed for a couple of hours and enjoyed every minute. The bar definitely specializes in stew style meals, things that are full of flavor and just give you a big hug. The salsa I had on the tortilla (from a bit vat behind the bar) was warm and spicy which really worked well with the tortilla texture. However without doubt the best dish was the crane con tomate - it was just amazing. So simple, just slow cooked pork, a few peas in a rich tomato sauce. I have had this in many towns and cities across Spain but this one was just better, I loved it. The portion sizes were generous and the prices were amazing. Loved it and if I am ever back in Toledo this will be my go-to for lunch.

Restaurante Venta de Aires is a long-standing establishment in Toledo, offering regional specialties like paella and traditional stews. The restaurant is well-located in the city center, providing city views and a pleasant terrace for guests to enjoy. It is known for its historical significance and features an interior terrace where visitors can relax. Additionally, the area surrounding the restaurant encapsulates the three cultures with notable landmarks such as the Mosque of Cristo de la Luz and the Cathedral of Toledo.
A lovely eatery near the heart of Toledo, I loved the cozy atmosphere of the well-established restaurant. It felt like a cross between a traditional Spanish restaurant and a hunting lodge. I was particularly impressed with the quality of the food dishes, for starters we had croquettes de jamon and a fresh salad. For the mains, we ordered Rabo de Toro (oxtail stew), the cochinillo (suckling pig), and the arroz con verduras (rice with vegetables) - all of which were delicious and generously filling. On a special side note, I was really surprised to see that the kid's menu mini-hamburgers were well-sized and tasted good as well! I loved the caramelized onion added to the mini hamburgers. Lastly, for dessert we ordered the arroz con leche, which unfortunately was the only bomb of the dinner, it was unreasonably tangy which most likely came from the orange rinds that were hidden in the dish. It did not blend nor taste good. Asides from the poor quality of the dessert, the only other critique I have for Venta de Aires is the cost per person is significantly high - suffice to say, it's an expensive restaurant!

This restaurant is a must-visit! The decor creates a wonderful ambiance. The service was impeccable, with attentive and professional staff. They were always nearby if we needed anything, yet never intrusive. I highly recommend dining here.

Incredible place with outstanding indoor terrace, its like eating in a beautiful garden. Service was excellent as well, very attentive and kind staff. The "problem" comes with the famous "value for price". Its totally out of range... even only evaluating the food, not considering its price, was average... In case they open all day long better coming here for grabbing a good gin tonic in the noon and enjoy its beautiful terrace.

This restaurant was highly recommended and the first time we went it was excellent. However on going back it was the worst experience. They were short of staff and the food took for ever to arrive . The staff did not provide any information and were overwhelmed. The manager was not on site and it was terrible. I would not recommend this place even through the food was good.

Food is great but I noticed that the service is rude (dropping food on table etc). You will feel unwelcome because of microaggression with disdain, maybe racist undertone? Don't drop by since they are not hospitable to tourists. Hope it reaches the management. Food is really great though! So if you're white or local go! But colored? Think twice 😃

We had our late lunch here, served us with a local bread dipped with olive oil, followed by the starter half bird egg, main course is the Iberia ribs, very delicious and nice ribs, texture was just nice. Portion size was considered big size for me, average 5-6 ribs for each portion. The dessert was quite sweet for me, if the sugar level can reduce a bit then will be perfect.

Nestled just outside the historic walls of Toledo, near the iconic Puerta Nueva de Bisagra, Restaurante El Albero has been a culinary gem for over 30 years. This charming establishment specializes in traditional Spanish and Manchego dishes, showcasing local flavors through expertly crafted meals like stewed partridge and oxtail. The restaurant prides itself on using top-quality ingredients while employing modern cooking techniques to elevate classic recipes.
Terrific little restaurant, my wife and I had lunch here the other day and it was a wonderful experience. Food was amazing, service gracious and all very affordable. A short walk from the touristy area, but well worth it. They even made suggestions for places to try on the days they were closed. Awesome!

An Exceptional Experience at Albero I recently had the pleasure of dining at Albero in Toledo, and it truly exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable. The staff, particularly our waiter, was incredibly attentive and friendly, recommending dishes from the new menu that turned out to be absolutely fantastic. We chose the black rice and ceviche, and both were an absolute delight – perfectly balanced flavours and beautifully presented. It's clear that great care goes into every dish. The atmosphere was equally noteworthy. Calm, cosy, and ideal for enjoying a rainy afternoon in Toledo. Albero is undoubtedly the perfect spot to combine exceptional food, outstanding service, and a relaxed setting. I would highly recommend it without hesitation!

Wow, this restaurant is an absolute gem! After a long hour in the car from Madrid to Toledo, we were starving and randomly walked into the nearest restaurant, not expecting much. To our surprise, it turned out to be one of the best dining experiences we've had in Spain! The food was incredibly delicious, especially the steak! it was so tender and perfectly cooked. The salad was outstanding, with super fresh vegetables that we absolutely loved. And surprisingly, it was not expensive at all! We would definitely go back if we ever get the chance to visit Toledo again. Highly recommended!

Glad we made the trek! A lovely restaurant with traditional dishes. We had a bit of a wait as we did not make a reservation and it is popular. Friendly staff and generous portions. We were treated to an extra free appetizer as well.

Got recommended this place by a Castilla La Mancha local we met in Madrid ❤️ Great food & service. Best to call & make a reservation before hand. They were fully booked for the day when we arrived at about 1:45pm. Luckily for us we were only a table for 2 and they managed to fit us in 30 mins later. Worth the wait! Seems to be very popular with the locals, everyone seems to know each other, which adds even more to the good vibes at this place!

We found this gem of a restaurant as we were walking back to the Toledo train station. Our meal was fantastic. We started with a mixed salad that included lettuce, tuna, tomatoes and olives. My husband ordered the lamb chops and I ordered the veal brochette. Both were well-prepared and delicious, though we preferred the veal to the lamb. The wines were wonderful. We finished by sharing a flan and each had an espresso. For less than $90 euros, we thought the meal was a really good value. Service was outstanding and the atmosphere is delightful. Very much a local’s place!

Located at the foot of the hill upon which Toledo was built, this is a traditional restaurant serving authentic Spanish food. I was unable to make a reservation online, but was immediately seated after arriving at 11:40. I ordered the Toledo-style partridge (€24,00), one anchovy (€3,50) and a beer (€3,50); bread was added with a €1,20 charge. The partridge was stewed and seasoned liberally; aside from the numerous small bones, it actually tasted quite similar to chicken. Restaurant staff were welcoming and warm to foreign tourists, despite the language barrier. Atmosphere was leisurely and comfortable. Pricing was accessible. Although its location is awkward for tourists who arrive at Toledo in the morning, it is well worth the walk if you want to try authentic Toledo cuisine.

From red tuna tartare to smoked sardines, their expertly crafted plates are a delight for the palate. The menu also features an impressive selection of wines to complement the exquisite flavors.
I loved the food and the ambience. The service was fantastic and the portions were just the right size. The restaurant is a bit expensive but worth visiting. We tried several dishes and they were all tasty. The restaurant is cozy and have limited spaces so better to have a reservation in advance.

I ducked in during a torrential downpour at lunchtime. Got shoved into a far corner of the bar. They have two wines available by the glass. One white. One red. Both were drinkable. I ordered the caviar. It was very good. Also had the Wagyu loin. It was excellent. 100+ euro.

Overall - disappointed with the food. The other reviews make it seem like the standard of food is very high, however I beg to differ. The dishes just seemed unbalanced with no finesse, all seemed like an oily greasy plate of food. In particular, the tuna on crispy rice was very disappointing. The rice was mushy and over-fried just tasting of oil, and whilst the quality of the tuna was good, the amount of pesto was completely overpowering. The price of the food was extremely high and we did not drink alcohol but still paid 100 euros, especially given the quality. The service and waiting staff were excellent and very attentive. This whole meal left us feeling full, underwhelmed, and honestly slightly sick! Would not recommend.

I can say that, unfortunately, there’s no good food at this restaurant. Sadly, it wasn’t to my liking. The place looks visibly clean but is very small, making it hard for the waiters to move around. The dishes pass right over your head, and clearly the space is not ideal. The food didn’t meet my expectations either.

Not sure how this place is so highly rated, I was certainly fooled. The staff are not polite or hospitable especially the blond woman at the door. The food was contrived and overpriced, I would not go here in Toledo.

Food was ok, quite salty to our taste. We were assigned a table in the middle of the small dining room and not allowed to choose a more discreet table. The owner said that all tables were pre-assigned (not quite sure what that means). The service was a little abrupt and less attentive than expected. There was only 1 white wine by glass choice. We wouldn't recommend as there are way too many better restaurant choices in Toledo.

Adolfo Restaurante is a top dining spot in Toledo, situated near the cathedral within a 12th-century Jewish house. The restaurant offers an array of options, including traditional dishes like lechazo and cordero, as well as a chef's degustation menu featuring diverse flavors and textures. Adolfo Munoz, a renowned figure in Toledo's culinary scene, presents his take on regional cuisine with dishes like perdiz braised in wine.
We had one of the most intimate dining experience in Adolfo Restaurante. The experience starts with the tour of their spectacular wine cellar prior to seating us to the beautiful dinning room. The ambiance is quiet, elegant and elevated. Our hostess Cecilia was very warm and welcoming and spoke very good English. The sommelier was also excellent, his choice for wine pairing is perfection. The tasting menu was unbelievable. The presentation is a work of art not to mention delicious! Every course is a delight with anticipation on what’s to come. The timing in between course is also just right, we did not feel rushed and was happy that the evening did not dragged for hours. Having dined in elegant restaurants, Adolfo Restaurante simply meets above our expectations. The chef Javier Muñoz came to the table after the meal to chat and personally thank us for dining at the restaurant. This gave us a chance to personally compliment the chef and the staff. Congratulations to the staff for a job well done. We felt like part of the family by the time we left the restaurant. Thank you for an incredible evening.

My boyfriend and I had the absolute pleasure of eating at Restaurante Adolfo at the end of June this year. This restaurant, the experience, the lovely staff, and the mouthwatering food has been on our minds ever since. We have recommended and will recommend this lovely restaurant to anyone and everyone! We arrived at the restaurant and were greeted by Miguel Angel and Cecilia. Miguel Angel took us on a lovely tour of the wine cellar, gave us the history of it, and the rundown of the architecture. We asked him for advice on a light wine, and he made a selection for us. Although I do not remember what type it was, all I can say is the bottle was empty by the time the two of us finished lunch! After the wine cellar tour, we came back and had the tasting menu, which was Michelin star worthy! Everything was explained by beautiful Cecilia and she truly made our meal feel like a dream! Throughout the meal, we got to chat with Miguel Angel and Cecilia, making us feel like friends. We came for the food, but we left with a whole lot of love for them in our hearts and wanting to come back next time we are in Spain. Miguel Angel & Cecilia, if you see this, know that Daniel and I talk about our experience with you guys often!

This is such a special restaurant. It’s more than just a meal - it’s an experience. Your meal starts with a history of the restaurant which is given in their incredible wine cellar. You learn about the heritage of Adolfo and can sense the love and passion that comes from Javi, the head chef, who inherited the restaurant from his parents. You are then brought inside and the service is absolutely exceptional (thank you Cecilia!). The multilingual staff (they spoke with us in English) will walk you through the wine selection, ask about any dietary restrictions and help get you on your way to this culinary experience. We opted for the tasting menu and every dish was truly a piece of art. More than just food, these dishes are elegant, refined and relaxed at the same time. Some standouts were the asparagus spears cooked three ways, the artichoke and the fish which has the skin fried separately and delicately laid back on top. We added a cheese course for dessert which was exceptional and their other desserts, including their pomegranate speciality dessert, were so delicious. Please come here for an experience you won’t forget.

We had an absolutely lovely time celebrating our anniversary at Adolfo, with special thanks to Javier and his team whose genuine warmth inexplicably makes you feel right at home and ready to have a wonderful time! The underground private wine cellar is an eye-opener and such a beautiful way to start the experience - as Javier says, in Toledo you never know what's beneath your feet :) We enjoyed all the dishes which were made with fresh seasonal ingredients from Spain (my personal favourite was the suckling pork), along with the pairing of delicious Spanish wines. We are so glad we got to experience the culture, gastronomy and history of Toledo at Adolfo!
Kim K — Google review
The most amazing meal I have ever had in my life. Starting with a tour of the restaurant's private wine cellar, in spaces the family discovered when they started knocking out walls underneath a property they purchased many years ago. They began stocking it with exquisite wines and cavas, and now have one of the top wine cellars in the world. We returned to the restaurant and began a seven-course meal with wine pairings. The table was gorgeous, the service was beyond excellent, and each dish was better than the last. Cecilia told us all about each dish and how to eat it in order to taste it the way the chef intended. We finished off with several desserts, including a candy shell shaped like a pomegranate and filled with a frothy yogurt (?) sauce. As instructed, we all picked up spoons and tapped the "pomegranate" shells to break them simultaneously, while wishing for good luck. Finishing off the meal with an exquisite Spanish cava, the evening was deemed a success by all. If you are looking for a once-in-a-lifetime meal experience, you should definitely come to Adolfo's.

Amazing elevated fine dining experience. Beautiful presented unique and innovative plates. Tableware was over the top and changed out for each course. Suckling pig was the best I'll ever have. Predinner tour of 11th century wine cellar was a lovely bonus!

This was our third visit to Adolfo Restaurante in Toledo and the menu and wine is without a doubt, the best in the city! Chef Javier prepares his menu with such care and passion and Cecilia, the Maître ‘d is very welcoming and pays attention to every detail. All of the staff are terrific and take such care! There is a daily set menu made with fresh ingredients, many of which come from their vineyard. The menu has just the right mix of fish and meat. The desserts are served with an extra special finale. Also a thank you to Miguel who takes great care in serving our wine. The Adolfo Shiraz is a must have. Before the meal, a tour of the private cellar sets the tone for an incredible dining experience. The cellar is Adolfo’s private collection with 45,000 bottles, the largest private collection in Spain. Always our first dining experience and the highlight of our travels in Spain.

During our stroll visit through the enchanting walled city of Toledo, my husband discovered Adolfo Restaurant, a distinguished local establishment with two Michelin star mentions and what an extraordinary discovery it was! Chef Javier delighted us with a masterful tasting menu that seamlessly blends the rich culinary traditions of La Mancha with a refined, modern, and health-conscious approach. Each dish celebrated local and seasonal ingredients elevated to perfection, taking us on a blissful journey of flavor and creativity. Who would imagine chocolate finding its place in a soup? Or that local grapes from the family’s own winery could pair so perfectly with fish? Simply incredible. The experience was further elevated by the impeccable service of Cecilia, whose warmth, grace, and attention to detail transformed our lunch into an unforgettable celebration. She joined us in our joy, wishing us the very best in our marriage, a gesture we will always remember with gratitude. Before the meal, guests are invited to visit the family’s private wine cellar, nestled in nearby 9th-century caves. It stands as one of the region’s finest, showcasing an exceptional collection of international wines, each thoughtfully paired by the sommelier to enhance every course. From start to finish, every moment reflected culinary excellence, heartfelt hospitality, and timeless elegance. We dined and drank like royalty, a celebration of love, artistry, and life itself. Bravo, well done!

We visited Toledo, Spain on May 5th, 2025, and had lunch at Restaurante La Orza. The restaurant is tucked away in a quiet corner just a few minutes from Mirador de Toledo, a fantastic viewpoint for capturing the city’s beauty. We arrived about 30 minutes before opening, but the staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. They offered us water and even invited us in to charge our phones while we waited—such thoughtful hospitality! We ordered Lomo de Orza, Fideuá y vieiras, Cochinillo, and Delicias de Mazapán. Every dish was excellent, but the standout for us was the Lomo de Orza, which we were told was made with deer meat. The dish had deep, layered flavors that made it our favorite of the meal—truly memorable. Overall, we were very impressed. Restaurante La Orza is a must-visit when in Toledo. Highly recommended!

June 27, 2025. Must visit this restaurant when visiting Toledo. Tried five different appetizers including artichoke w/ octopus, apple gazpacho, potato salad, tomato salad, cured pork with aged cheese ice cream -- all amazing! The venison entree blew us away! The pig cheek stew and suckling pig were also excellent. We liked the food so much that we ordered "one of everything" from the dessert menu. Yummy!

Some of the best Rabo de Toro you'll ever have! Delicious, would have appreciated a bit of a larger portion, but it was amazing. I docked 1 star as their online reservation system was difficult to use. I put in my credit card to secure the reservation but their system wasn't authorizing anything so I couldn't tell, did we have a reservation/ did we not?? Went over to the restaurant and they said no availability inside (online said they had some options) but we could sit on the terrace if we wanted. That worked well for us, it was a beautiful night and our waiter was so fun! The house marzipan - yum ♥️

Fantastic tasting buds experience! If you're really hungry (hard to imagine at 36°C at 8:30pm), this is not a place for you, as the portions are relatively small. Otherwise, each meal was fantastic. Apple (!) gazpacho/ raspberry (!) salmorejo with celery (!) ice-cream was tiny and a piece of art. Partridge, venison, pig cheeks, aged beef were all top notch (beef was a relatively big portion). Ponche Toledano, a layered mazapan cake with gold decoration was a hit, we just had to encore it for everyone. Mazapan is translated as Marzipan on the English menu, but is different from caramelized fruits in Italy (or, say, Seville): mazapan is an almond paste cake or cookie in Toledo. For wine, we had Panofino, the house Tempranillo, and it was superb (and a steal). Going to have another La Orza dinner tomorrow.

If you desire to enjoy local cuisine on a regular basis, visit Taberna Skala. This traditional Spanish tavern offers hearty dishes and friendly service. You can choose from various tapas and the portions are always larger than expected. The atmosphere is reminiscent of the olden days, creating an authentic dining experience in Toledo. The staff is exceptionally pleasant and doesn't take advantage of tourists, ensuring smaller portions for couples or small groups.
This tavern was so good, we went back the following night. Our rookie mistake was to order everything upfront. Big mistake, as the meals are so big. The locals would order their drinks and first dish, then order more if still hungry. We had the stewed pork dish, which was amazing. We also had the mushroom dish, washing it all down with beer. Fantastic, but walked home feeling very well fed. Second night, ordered a half portion of the stewed pork (which seemed as generous as the full portion), potato wedges (half size), and a calamari dish (full size) and washed it down with sangria. Again, delicious but too much for two people. We ended up doing takeaway on the wedges. The staff are friendly and patient with my poor Spanish. We would definitely go back to this tavern and recommend it highly.

All popular places and those that come recommend, #jamesblick, are crazy busy. But well worth the wait. We were lucky to get a table within 5 minutes. No menus in English but you can point and pick what you want. We had an order of the pork stew and sautéed mushrooms in garlic. The mushrooms were ok but the stew was amazing. Would we go back? Yes yes yes.

Hidden gem up a non-descript alley that is full of locals. Food was great, 1/2 racion dishes were very generous sized and the staff were friendly. Prices were great too (which explains the locals). Like how they had many of their prepared tapas in a fridge display at the counter. So for example when you ordered a croquette, they would take it and fry it. For 1.5 euros, it's really amazing. This is also one of the few tavernas I know that do not charge for bread. Definite recommend in Toledo. Look for the red sign in the alley

Delicious carcamusas (fatty pork stew) with crusty bread and a glass of sangria made for the perfect lunch. The warm, cozy tavern feels authentically local, and the staff were friendly and helpful. A must-stop in Toledo!

We visited Toledo for the day and wanted to eat like a local and we hit the Jackpot with Taberna Skala. I love these earthy traditional, no thrills places to eat. Simply delicious food served by people who want you to eat their food. We tried the local port stew called Carcamusas with some potatoes and both were fantastic, especially with the bread to mop up the sauce. Also on the side we had morcilla, croquets and fried meat wrapped in ham and cheese. All three were super tasty, especially the morcilla. It was a mix of locals and tourists and had a real buzz about the place and I just wish the UK had these types of places. Unfortunately I live in a place where people flock to the ultra processed chain crappy restaurants or get a person with a filthy disgusting looking deliveroo bag on their back that delivers them garbage to eat. Anyway back on topic, Taberna Skala was a wonderful place to spend an hour or so and I will return. Amazing.

It's the first tavern in Toledo, very, very goog food. I had a vegan option (champiñón all ajillo) and my husband had the carcamussa. We ordered half portions because they are big ones. Fair price, lovely place, happy waiters. I strongly recommend it. The waiter was even concerned whether I was just vegan or had food allergies: perfect!

The staff was super friendly, making it a great place to be, and the food was amazing! Our Carcamusas and Champinones Al Ajilo were delicious, totally worth the hype. And that cold beer on a hot Toledo day? Perfect.

The tapas restaurant Taberna Embrujo is a small, local favorite for Spanish-style tapas. The menu features reasonably priced dishes typical of Toledo, with dishes including Mediterranean, Spanish, and vegetarian friendly options. Near the electric steps from the parking garage below, it's a great place to enjoy some delicious tapas in a rustic atmosphere.
For an American that doesn't speak very good Spanish, this was a great place to dine at. They had an English menu, and the staff was very understanding and helpful. Then, there was the food! My meal was presented with professionalism and perfection with a taste to match. I highly recommend stopping by for even just a café con leche.

After walking up and down thru the old town of Toledo, we came across this beautiful and very inviting restaurant. We only had drinks and tapas. Both were delicious. Very happy to come across this gem on our visit to Toledo.

3 star is for the lamb and the seafood. Pork and service are terrible and worth less rate. The pork is very salty and the person there was very impolite and even rude in taking orders. Food is overpriced also. It’s a tourist crowded place and really not worth it.

Lovely selection of delicious dishes, I was only in Toledo 3 days and couldn't help myself to go back! Simply amazing food and service!

Super friendly and competent staff, great food, fair prices and super nice atmosphere! A tipical Spanish place with great charm, loved by the locals. You'll get some tapas for free with your drink like in the old times. Totally recommend!

We are visiting Toledo and decided to stop by this characteristic place. The food is of great quality. The service is fast, extremely friendly and caring for the customers. The menu choice is complete and has provides good choices. The prices are honest and adequate to the high quality of food. We will definitely return in our next visit to Toledo!

We love the food here. Service is 100%. The also provided two tapas in house. We ordered grilled flat mushroom, grilled cuttlefish, carcamusa ( pork poin meat with tomato sauce ), all of them were delicious! Outdoor seating under the sunshine and wind is nice. Recommend a visit!

This’s a wonderful place to have a chilling late lunch, especially when you sitting outside. I ordered fried pig ears, fried mushrooms, squid and a sangria. All of them are fair price and tasty, except for pig ears, it’s a bit heavy when you only have two people to share whole plate 😂 Definitely will comeback 👍

Restaurante La Clandestina is a charming multi-room restaurant and bar in Toledo that offers a warm atmosphere, traditional regional cuisine, and a leafy terrace for outdoor dining. The restaurant's unique charm and culinary offerings make it a hidden gem in the city. With stylish interior decor and excellent service, La Clandestina provides an ideal setting for a romantic lunch or dinner, especially on warm days when guests can enjoy the charming outdoor patio.
This place is tremendous; an amazing eating experience that makes me wish we were spending another night in Toledo. We showed up, sadly a little underdressed bc the washing machine wasn't functioning, but they graciously said nothing. The terrace is a beautiful, floral space. We had no clue what to really expect, but the restaurant was recommended by a local Spanish friend. We tried the award winning croquettas, the anchovy and the partridge salad to start. The salad was unbelievably good. So pleased. Then we ordered the suckling pig and the Iberian pork loin. Both were excellent. Despite being very full, we had to order the award winning manchego cheesecake. To die for. We arrived at 845 and when we left at 1030 the terrace was mostly full. This is not a tourist spot. But this lucky tourist happened upon it and hope to be back in the future. For $100 euro, we had a delicious feast. This meal in the US would have easily cost twice as much.

We’re having a great time! We’re a group of 11 and ordered a variety of dishes to share—everything’s been perfect, no issues at all. It’s no surprise this place is considered one of the best restaurants in Toledo. I have to highlight the kindness, courtesy, and warm smiles of the staff who served our table. Congratulations—keep it up and don’t change a thing! Desert don’t miss the cheesekake and “la torrija” . 43€ wine incluyes

A lunch menu is served here during weekdays at €30, consisting of an appetizer, three dishes and a dessert. Bread and a bottle of still water are included in the price. To start, tasty green olives also arrived on the table. This is refined cuisine. In good weather, I recommend sitting on the terrace outside. Only the music was maybe a little too loud, but I did not complain about this because I was not the only guest in the restaurant either 🙂 . Excellent value for money!

I heard about this place on a YouTube video from someone who does reviews of Spain, and it was well worth it! I wasn't hungry enough for a full meal, so I went for some of the Tapas dishes, which were beautifully plated and oh so delicious. I did, however, spy on the tables surrounding me at what they had, and their meals looked beautiful and tasty as well. They also have a price fixe menu, which was very reasonably priced for several courses. If you can, try and sit in the outdoor patio, which is like an oasis with lots of verdant plants and calming music. They even have a mister for those very hot days. Make sure to make a reservation ahead of time. Such a great find!

The staff is kind and charming. The food is inventive, interesting and subtle. The cod was like eating pure butter it was so perfectly prepared, the croquettes melted in my mouth, and I have never eaten more interesting anchovies. If you have the privilege of visiting Toledo, do not hesitate. Eat at this beautiful restaurant.

The food and atmosphere are excellent. We were a large group of nine, five adults and four children and were comfortably seated to enjoy the restaurant. The value is quite good and the prices are very reasonable. Watch out though! We were a little disappointed to find that 15 percent of the bill was associated with the price of bread! Each piece provided was charged at 1.5€. I am accustomed to a much cheaper charge when the restaurant charges for bread.
Edmund C — Google review
Prix fixe lunch menu was absolutely delicious. The regular menu is pricey, so this is a great option to try a variety of things. The eggplant with smoked tuna and orange sauce, mussels in green curry, ravioli with mushrooms and smoked pork with pickled eggplant. Plus a drink and dessert for 20 euros per person. Lovely and helpful wait staff made for a great lunch in Toledo.

A rather unique chefs table which only seats 9 people with no exceptions. There are no other tables available. We were the only people there today (4) and whilst this meant less people to engage with, the chef and front of house staff were so friendly and engaging. The experience was lovely. We have two kids (13 and 10) and they enjoyed it. Remarkable value compared to similar experiences in major cities. Cool building (has 5 hotel rooms) in a great location for exploring the lovely old town of Toledo. Great wine, reasonably priced. The menu doesn’t change often - more a seasonal thing… so a one off experience during a trip. Really good

Jump on this opportunity for an intimate dining and tasting experience where the chef couple are hardly exceeded in number by their diners. Seating is bar-side/ kitchen-side a la sushi and if your Spanish is passable you can engage and exchange to more deeply probe the ingredients, methodology, and wine, with great bottles to be had for 25 euro. A value at the set price of 50 euro for several courses.

We had an amazing & unique dinner experience here last summer and keep referring to this night a lot. Unfortunately, a very poor experience from this recommended location. We spent the day in Toledo, and we were recommended this location for dinner by our hotel. TLDR - long wait times (even with reservations), unconcerned staff, disappointing atmosphere. Our hotel made the reservation for us (albeit a little last minute), and we arrived 5 minutes after the planned reservation time. It was clear from the moment we walked in that the place was understaffed. It took about 5 minutes for any of the staff to address us (we even walked upstairs to find staff to help). We notified them if our reservation, and we were promptly seated downstairs. After being seated, we waited about 10min to receive a menu, and after 25min, no one came to take our orders, or offer us drinks. And so we decided to not waste our time anymore, and we left. When we mentioned our disappointment to the staff on the main floor, they simply waved us away - clearly unconcerned with our frustration and disappointment. No apologies, just dismissive. Aside from the understaffing issue, the atmosphere was very underwhelming, especially considering how beautiful the rest of Toledo is. There are hundreds of other places with much nicer environments and atmospheres. The downstairs area is a very basic open space with a small bar, lots of tables, and a set of giant mirrors against the wall, where you could watch yourself eat (if you're into that kind of thing). We never got to try any of their food, which is supposedly good. But from what we saw from the tables around us, it didn't look like anything special - not worth that kind of wait in any event. There seems to be some partnership between this location, local guides, and hotels to recommend this place. But honestly, if the understaffed service, dismissive attitudes, and general atmosphere is anything to go by - there are many other better options within 5 minutes walk. To describe the understaffing issue in a little more detail - there was one person downstairs for about 12-14 tables. He was not only the waiter, he was also the barman. So this guy had to take all the orders from all the tables, prepare every drink himself, and then serve the drinks and some of the food. At some point we noticed what we assumed to be the chef, also running up and down the stairs to deliver food. So he's cooking the food, then delivering it by hand to each table, which would be cool if there weren't two floors of tables with lots of patrons. I want to feel bad for the staff, but they didn't have a great attitude either. Every other place we went people were generally friendly, but this place seemed annoyed that we even walked through the door, and had the audacity to complain about not being served for 25 minutes. I would steer clear of this place unless it happens to be entirely empty and you could get someone to take your order within a reasonable amount of time.
Anton H — Google review
Toledo is a small walking city but don't let that fool you. Labyrinthine streets without street signs, and you will be lost. Google map wasn't much help either. So we stumbled k Maruxina Lounge, a modern looking restaurant serving reasonably prepared dishes. They weren't great by any measure, but the place does provide a comfortable respite from the maddening crowds of tourists. The olives were great. A plate of cooked vegetables with a fried egg wasn't half an boring as it sounds. A dish of partridge stewed with beans offered tasty beans but bland bird. All in all, it was much better than rushing the crowds at one of the many tourist restaurants.

Amazing secret spot in Old Town Toledo. You have to venture down a small old alley to find the entrance and then it opens up to a beautiful restaurant. The staff is so nice and accommodating. They do speak English and will make some great recommendations. The fish soup is out of this world. The rice and fish can feed four people. Love this place and will always have a great memory in Toledo.

We were told this was a nice restaurant to visit while in Toledo. We struggled a little to find it but trust me this is a hidden gem. We went there during lunch hour and since no dinning tables were available we waited by the bar. The owner of the restaurant stopped by a few times to check in on us. I’d recommend the merluza if you don’t love “fishy” taste, trust me it has a very subtle and juicy texture. The octopus never disappoints. I’d recommend drinking a Martin Codax to enjoy your meal.

This is the place to go for seafood! Although I understand some of the previous comments, most of the negatives are why we liked it. We arrived on a Friday in early August at 9pm to a fully staffed restaurant that had no customers. By 10:00pm almost every table was full. There was only one waitstaff who spoke English, his name was Azar, but the others were attentive in their quiet way. The food was prepared by the owner and it was absolutely everything we were looking for in the South of Spain. They prepared a salad for us even though it wasn’t on the menu. The special was cod, salmon and tuna chunks, perfectly prepared and wonderfully accented with potatoes and small vegetables. Be careful of the bones, but absolutely well done! The carrot cake and coffee were great closers. Although we speak little to no Spanish, this was a highlight after visiting one of the prettiest cities we’ve seen in Europe!

The restaurant has received mixed reviews regarding its service quality, with some customers noting rushed cleaning before closing time. However, others have highlighted the excellent service and food quality they experienced as tourists.
Good place for breakfast in Toledo. The place does not look particularly fancy, however the food and the service are amazing! Food is super good for the price and the service is very polite and helpful! One additional advantage of the place: they are open and serve breakfast “early” in the morning. We were there a Sunday around 10:00 and most of the places were still closed. Not this one :)

Had lunch here after visiting the Cathedral. The cafe is a bit unassuming and the decor makes it feel touristy. While it very well may be - the food was delicious. We ordered the croquettes and they were all great. Beer was cold and our main dishes were amazing. The Cesar salad came with cheesy chicken nuggets and plenty of tiny manchego cubes. The char-grilled octopus was phenomenal. The potatoes were perfect. One of the best meals we’ve had in our five days in Spain.

"I had an early lunch at this Toledo café and was impressed: the service was fast, the staff was accommodating, and the quality was top-notch, especially given the incredibly cheap prices—the true star! The one drawback was the calamari bocadillo, which took too long, was rubbery, and quite oily (would not recommend that specific dish). However, for a drink or a quick stop, I would absolutely recommend this place.

Pulpo Braseado con Cremoso de Patata (Grilled Octopus with Potato) 21 € ★★★☆☆ Beautifully plated, but the octopus was unfortunately overcooked with a slightly burnt flavor. The potatoes were interesting—fried but not crispy, more like the texture of steamed potatoes. Paella de Marisco (Seafood Paella) 14 € ★★★☆☆ In contrast to the octopus, the paella was undercooked. The rice had a watery texture, and the seasoning lacked depth. White Wine (Sweet) 2.8€ ★★★★☆ Light, refreshing, and served well as an apéritif.

We visited this place on a one day trip to Toledo and it wasn’t the best restaurant to go to for vegetarians. Only a very few things are without meat/fish. When I ordered the lasagna I was hoping to get something vegetarian but unfortunately the salad had a can of tuna on top. My friends also had a salad and a burger which they were satisfied with. The lasagna was fine but it didn’t seem to be freshly cooked, rather like it was just warmed up. Overall we payed too much money for food that was not very good at all.

We had lunch here on a cold winter day. What a lucky find on The Fork! The food was hearty and delicious. The service very kind. The restaurant is on a tiny street, cozy with only a few tables inside.

The ambiance and restaurant in and of itself is very much sophisticated, classy and chill at the same time. The staff was the loveliest I've seen in a long time, which is a huge thing for me, but when it comes to the food, we ordered the Patatas Fábula and they were underwhelming, both portion and quality wise, for the price they're charging for them (7€) so I wouldn't recommend them. Nor would I recommend the blood sausages with the apple base, since both the texture and the flavors were very off, at least for me. What I do recommend, a 100%, are the Rabo de toro croquetas which were the best, and most delicious, croquetas I've ever had in my life. Plus, the queso de cabra salad was incredibly tasty.

We have been to a day trip in Toledo, from Madrid. Searching for a nice resto, we have decided to eat at Fabula. And it was a good decision. The food was great: the deer stew, the morcilla. The melted cheese (provolone) was brilliant and we also liked the ham croquettes. The service was one of the nicest we had in 2 Spanish weeks. We received a complimentary marzipan liquor at the end that we appreciated - as taste and as a gesture. We recommend this resto.

We shared the sea bass tartar, which was delicious and served individually, a real treat. The portions were just right. The cheesecake was too sweet for my taste. There were no vegetarian options. What I liked least was the restaurant's location. The entrance is very run-down; they should fix the parking area. A little more lighting in the dining room would also be helpful. It was a very sunny day, but the light inside was lacking.

This spot is tucked away on a quiet street in Toledo, yet still very central and easy to find. The atmosphere is relaxed with both indoor and outdoor seating, making it perfect for any kind of visit. We enjoyed a fantastic glass of red wine, a super fresh and healthy salad, and a cheeseboard that came with freshly baked bread—it tasted like it had been made that same day. The service was outstanding & the best part! Prices were fair for the quality. We had a wonderful lunch and would definitely recommend this place if you’re in town and looking for a delicious, laid-back meal in a charming setting.

Bar Margot is a deserving establishment that exceeds its average rating. It offers a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy refreshing beverages and delicious tapas. The owner is attentive and the bar provides complimentary, delectable tapas. Additionally, their portion of salmon tostadas is ample for sharing. Located in Toledo, it is an ideal destination to unwind. This hidden gem boasts a serene terrace surrounded by exquisite architecture. The service is exceptional and they offer cider as well.
Great place on a small square in the old town. Perfect combination between sun, old town charme and shade under the trees. Food is very good, great local options and very fair pricing. Would recommend 10/10 times.

We were wandering around Toledo and we got hungry on a hot day when we came across this place with a lovely shaded outdoor area. The waiter could have been a bit more friendly, but we worked it out and had a tasty light lunch that hit the spot. The plaza caught a nice breeze and had a good amount of shade, not all tables though. Limited and quite casual menu, but everything was tasty.
ESB N — Google review
Nice location but overpriced. My wife's salad was good, my BBQ ribs were too small for the price (€17,50), the industrial sauce was horrible and beside was only a little salad and no potatoes, fries or whatever. There were more bones than meat. Also the drinks prices, the Sprite was tiny, 0,2 l for €3,20, and a large beer for €5,00, are unusual high for Spain. The waiter (owner?) seemed very annoyed for some reason. We will not come again.
CNX E — Google review

For We had dinner sitting outside on the terrace, which was very pleasant. We ordered the salad and the BBQ pork ribs. While the dishes were decent, the flavors were rather ordinary. The portions also felt a bit small for the price. For instance, the BBQ pork ribs (€17.50) came only with a small side salad, which wasn’t very filling. It would have been more satisfying if they were served with French fries or another side dish. Overall, the atmosphere was enjoyable, but the food could be improved in terms of both taste and portion size.

We just happen to wander through on a hot sunny day and saw the restaurant with outdoor tables under the trees and decided to take a break and sat down for a simple lunch. Food is simply yet delicious and not too expensive for a tourist town. Its really relaxing and a good spot to chill before more exploration further west of Toledo. The restaurant gave 2 pieces of free bread with cheese and ham as appetiser.

An absolute delight to dine here. The place has a beautiful atmosphere with amazing service…. And absolutely delicious food. We tried the cherry gazpacho, eggplant dip and the burger. Everything was full of flavor. The cherry gazpacho was so unique and was our favorite dish of the night. And the coconut cake dessert was the perfect ending to our dinner. Highly recommend!

It’s a very warm and welcoming place! The staff (Daniel) is so nice, and speaks English as well. I had the truffle burger and mango cheesecake. Both were excellent, along with the very cold no alcohol beer, which was great after all the touristing in Toledo. The background music is nice too!

We LOVED everything about this great vegan restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious and the atmosphere and staff are wonderful. We were only in Toledo for a couple of days and stumbled upon Street and Soul for lunch the first day. We had hummus and potatas bravas ( made with purple potatoes which is super healthy….one of the foods from the Blue Zones) We enjoyed it so much that we booked for dinner the next night. What a fantastic meal. Everything was cooked to perfection. I was really pleased to see they serve proper kombucha along with a great selection of wines. It’s so relaxing to eat somewhere where you don’t have to constantly verify that the food is plant based. My highlight of Toledo!

Great spot for a casual vegan lunch in Toledo. I was able to get a satisfying and relatively quick meal for lunch. I had the vegan shawarma and it was sooo much better than I expected. Very flavorful! Nice staff and comfortable seating, though it gets a bit hot during lunch without much air flow.

The location and good vibe of this restaurant first attracted us and being vegan/ vegetarian obviously this was a further draw. BUT the owners / staff here are super friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about their food. Then there is the food!! Omg! It is out of this world!!! I couldn’t imagine it would be this good because it was better than Michelin star restaurants we have been to - wonderfully presented, generous servings and the level of flavours is pure art! Then we hit the desert menu even though we were completely satiated already and when I thought it couldn’t get any better ….it did !

Absolutely horrendous. I ordered meatballs with tomato, and they came out frozen. Not cold. Frozen. I brought it back, and they literally microwaved it in front of me like I was in some sad gas station. Then they made me wait another 20 minutes just to bring that same pathetic excuse for a meal back out. The waiter had the nerve to be rude on top of it, with an attitude like I was the problem for not wanting frozen food. Also, I hate to say it, but the guy looked like he just rolled out of bed — bad hair, bad vibe, zero effort. Worst meal I’ve ever had, and probably ever will have. Avoid this place like the plague
Spencer B — Google review
It’s a good terrace bar in Toledo, which isn’t too crowded and touristy, it seems like locals are coming here to have coffee and breakfast / lunch. We liked our wines and salad. They also served us some warm tortilla (eggs, potatos, onions) and bread we didn’t order, which was a nice gesture. Only the fried anchovies were a little dry.

Restaurant
Restaurante La Ermitaña / Mirador Gastronómico de Toledo offers a modern and innovative cuisine that contrasts with its location beneath a hermitage on the left bank of the Tajo River. With prices ranging from 50-70 per person, this restaurant provides an excellent dining experience accompanied by friendly service personnel. The magnificent view is one of the main draws for visitors, and many recommend getting a table facing it.
Toledo is a beautiful city, and there's no better place to fully appreciate its charm than La Ermitaña. Located in a prime spot, La Ermitaña offers what is undoubtedly the best view of Toledo, making it an ideal dining destination. The food at La Ermitaña is just as impressive as the view. Our meal began with croquettes and Russian salad. The croquettes were delightful, but it was the Russian salad that truly stood out. Then, we enjoyed the octopus, which was incredibly tender and flavorful. On particularly hot days, it's wise to opt for a table inside to ensure a more comfortable dining experience.
Camilo T — Google review
The food was consistently good, we had rodaballo, croquetas, fideuà, and a few other dishes, all well-prepared. They were also very accommodating with our kids during dinner, which we really appreciated. The highlight is the view to the city. The service was very correct and friendly. Prices were not cheap but given the view and the food, the experience felt absolutely worthwhile and memorable. It is better to reserve in advance and ask for a window view to the city if available. On the minus, parking can be very cumbersome, so it is probably to grab a taxi there.
J J — Google review
You must eat here when visiting Toledo! It was a highlight of our time there. The food and drinks were delicious, the service was excellent, and the view was incredible. We were worried about how to get back to town after lunch since it was so hot outside. Our waiter offered to call us a taxi, and it arrived within minutes.

We visited La Ermitana on 05.06.2025. and now it is very hard to write review, because we can’t choose what to endorse more- the location, food or service. Ok let’s be honest and start from people. From the first moment we entered Le Ermitana, we were greeted by very hospitable and professional lady, a shame we didn’t got her name. And then we were handed to the waiter Maria. She didn’t speak english, but her charisma, her genuine smile and joyful mood- broke all barriers and we sincerely communicated all evening. In most difficult moments her colleague Andre came to assist. About food… shortly- we enjoyed every bit of our order and we can’t forget our hors d’oeuvre- homemade olives with tomatoes and oranges… Honestly we book this restaurant, because it promised jaw dropping views of Toledo. And promises were 100% true! During our dinner majestic view of Toledo was constantly in front of our eyes. At first lit by the evening sun, with the river Tagus running below in the shadows. When the sun hid behind the hill, first street lights start to appear and at the end of the dinner we could admire fully lit town with a dark blue sky and violet clouds in the back ground. When we come back to Toledo- La Ermitana would be the place will come back for sure. With huge admiration and love- Svetlana and Herkus.
Herkus M — Google review
Breathtaking view of the city! Very pleasant service! The lady at the entrance was extremely sweet and very caring for us to have a good time. The food was very good. We had the Russian salad and two different dishes of fish. Very tasty and well cooked. It was overall a very pleasant experience.

Excellent food with amazing views of Toledo. The service was excellent, the food outstanding, and the price–quality ratio reasonable. I recommend ordering full dishes rather than only appetizers to share, as the pricing makes full dishes a more reasonable choice. I will definitely come back if I have the opportunity.
Mary C — Google review
My husband and I had the most incredible dining experience at this gem of a restaurant in Toledo. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm and attentive. We were on a bit of a tight schedule to catch a train, and the staff not only served us efficiently without ever making us feel rushed, but even called a taxi for us to make sure we got there on time—such thoughtful hospitality! Now, the food. I had the clams, which were fresh and perfectly cooked, and my husband ordered the lamb—absolutely phenomenal. It was so tender it practically fell off the bone. We also couldn’t stop talking about the bread, which was easily the best we’ve had anywhere in Spain—crispy, warm, and just the right texture. And the views… wow. As the sun set, we looked out over the town of Toledo and the river below. It was absolutely breathtaking—worth a visit for the view alone. This place is more than a meal; it’s a full experience. Highly, highly recommended.

I highly recommend it, but I want to emphasize one detail that didn't sit well with me and that I want people who go to keep in mind. We ordered a portion of ham (excellent) and they asked us if we wanted crystal bread or focaccia to go with it. We thought the bread was included in the price or would cost €2-3. Well, it was €11.80!!! The bread they offered as a side didn't show a separate price. The portion is already €28, plus €11.80 for the bread. €40!!! The portion of ham. This is something you have to pay close attention to. But I highly recommend the place. Honestly, this is probably my favorite spot in the city just because of the absolutely outstanding views. We always get a tinto de verano, which is reasonably priced at 3,50€, but I kid you not, the waiters are some of the rudest and most unwelcoming waiters I've ever encountered. The service from both the staff and the owners was wonderful, not only with us but with all the guests. The gardens, with their beautiful views of Toledo, make Cigarral a unique place to celebrate such unforgettable events. I highly recommend it. (Original) Excelente! (Translated by Google) We got married on May 10, 2025, and it was spectacular at Cigarral San Martín. Judith and Miguel made this setting a beautiful place for our wedding. Judith decorated every corner of the Cigarral with great taste, listening to our preferences (colors, flowers, style, etc.) so that it would look beautiful on our wedding day, which already has Toledo in the background with spectacular views. The upstairs garden, where we held the civil ceremony, is beautiful and very well-maintained. The downstairs garden, where we held the cocktail party and reception, is spectacular. The restaurant is decorated with incredible taste. The food was a 10, spectacular, and left no one indifferent. I would also like to thank the head waiter, Barlo, for his attentiveness to the guests and us at all times, ensuring that all the food, drinks, and service were spectacular. I highly recommend it. Judith made so many thoughtful arrangements for us, making our wedding a super special day.

(Translated by Google) We celebrated our son's communion very recently, and we have to say that Judith's service was wonderful throughout. She made everything so easy for us. From preparing a candy bar beforehand, to decorating the tables and menu (she has great taste and makes everything beautiful), organizing the guests, making payments, and more. They set up a bouncy castle for the children and had the entire garden to play soccer in. Regarding the space, I can only say that it's ideal and that the children had the time of their lives. Without a doubt, the renovations they've done to the garden have been a success. The maitre d' or head waiter also treated us exquisitely. He was clearly professional and attentive. As for the quality of the food, it was also superb. Ample quantities and everything was delicious. If I had to point out a minor complaint, it would be that there was a bit of a mess in the table service and the presentation of the dishes. It's possible they needed a few more staff that day. It's small details like serving women before men, checking to see if anyone needs another drink/refreshment, making sure there's not too much of a wait when we move to the dining room, or serving wine/water promptly. In any case, I would hold it there again. And I hope it can be the same for the next event. I admire the work Judith and her husband do. They seem like incredible entrepreneurs to me, and they deserve to do phenomenally well.

Restaurante Marrakech is a delightful culinary gem that transports you to the heart of North Africa and the Middle East with its authentic dishes served in a charming Moorish-style atmosphere. The menu boasts an array of traditional favorites like tagines, couscous, falafel, and hummus, alongside innovative fusion options such as Arabian pizza. During my visit for a quick lunch while exploring Toledo, I was captivated by the warm ambiance and friendly service.
Cozy restaurant located on a side alley in the historical center of Toledo. The humus and the falafel were really tasty. They do not serve any alcohol, but the hot tea was really refreshing after a long walk through the city.

Grabbed a quick lunch while exploring Toledo. The service, ambience and food were all wonderful. We ordered the Moroccan Filo pastry stuffed with chicken, a veal Tajin plate and a chicken cuscus plate. Everything tasted amazing especially the veal Tajin where the apricot, stew, potato and lamb flavors all blended in magically. All the meat options are also halal. Definitely recommend.

This place is a hidden jewell in the heart of toledo. We had lunch there and came back that same night just for the hummus and a hookah, which we enjoyed with their hierbabuena lemonade, a must. The food was fantastic and beyond delicious. The staff are so nice and helpful, plus, the ambience and vibe is very much needed in the middle of busy, touristy Toledo. They have vegetarian options and can be vegan friendly if you specify your needs (for example, no yogurt sauce) The hookah is made by a knowledgeable person, with very good tobacco quality and craft. And on top of that, the decor is a mix between modern and traditional, very much an instagramable place. Their quality vastly surpasses their prices. It's a Toledo must.

Ducked into this place to avoid a surprise thunder storm. Had a hot drink and we ordered sandwiches. Food was served hot and the service was acceptable. Enjoyed the decor and it was a nice quiet restaurant. Fun to watch the rain and hail pound on the windows.

We popped in for a quick lunch and really enjoyed our experience here. I tried the red tea with cinnamon which was delicious and perfect for a cold day. To eat, we had the vegetarian shawarma and chicken shawarma. I ordered the wrong thing by accident (gotta love language barriers). When we got our food and I noticed it, I brought it to the server’s attention and they fixed it right away without charging me; which is greatly appreciated considering it was easily an error on my part.

The miracle was their just cooked vegetarian soup. It felt like medicine after a very cold day 2.5 hr tour. The hummus was pretty good. The hot red tea with cinnamon, was a bit too sweet for my taste. Should have asked for no sugar. The service was super nice - friendly and attentive. The ambiance was ok, but clean!

I'm excited to say I've seen the world's largest man made out of marzipan!! If you’re visiting Toledo Spain, stopping at Obrador Santo Tomé is an absolute must! This historic shop houses the Guinness Book of World Records marzipan man statue. Once you try any of their marzipan you can immediately taste why it’s considered the best in the city! It is perfectly balanced. It’s not overly sweet, but yet still full of flavor. Each piece is carefully crafted, with some even shaped into delicate figures and pastries. The shop itself is very charming. They have elegant displays of sweets set up like an edible art gallery. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and were happy to explain the different varieties. Prices are reasonable for the quality, and their packaging made it easy to bring some home as a gifts. If you want to experience authentic Toledo marzipan Santa Tomé is the place to go!

Great service, waiters are enthusiastic and care about their quality of foods. 服務良好。 I ordered the menu de dia. And the cuisines tastes delicious and with good value for money. I love the stewed deer meat there. It’s tasty, the meat is soft and you could dip the sauce with bread. Sangria is nice. Iberian pork slices are too salty for Asians, but it’s classic cuisine in Spain, you should have a try and share with friends. If you go there alone, I won’t recommend you to have Iberian pork slices, you better choose others.
