Loved it! I highly recommend it, it has a beautiful balcony, with a wonderful view. It hás a loft that takes you from the villa to the Castle. With free water points. You can rest inside the Castle even if hot outside its great inside. No excuses. Go there!
A short walk from the city centre, the Castelo de Leiria is worth a detour. Lot of history about this place. The location on the top of the city makes it a great view point for the local surrounding. Easy access as there are a couple of lifts to take you there, the ground of the castle aren’t for every mobility. Other than that it is in an OK level of preservation.
Leiria Castle is a hidden gem in central Portugal, offering breathtaking views over the city and a rich journey through medieval history. With beautifully preserved towers, romantic ruins, and peaceful gardens, it's perfect for history lovers and photographers alike. Entry is just 2€ per person, and you can even enjoy a fascinating bird of prey show a good experience that adds to the magic of the visit. If you're nearby, don't miss it! The acces can be done from stadium parking with using elevator situated near the main street Enjoy !
The ticket is very cheap, only €2.10 per person. No one checked it, so I saw some people didn't buy the tickets on purpose. Please don't do that. It's a lovely castle with an amazing view of Leiria. My 4-year-old son can walk all the way to the top of the castle and he really enjoyed it. It was a lovely experience for us.
Very interesting and culturally immersive experience. Seeing the old castle surrounded by the City of Leiria was amazing and had great views. They have gone to great lengths to preserve the history while also allowing tourists to view and partake in its beauty. This is great for a family day trip, just so long as everyone is up for a bit of a hike uphill and at times on unstable grounds. Really gave you the feeling of being there in ancient times, especially at the peak of the tower!! A++
Great place to visit and only 2 Euro entrance fee. Be warned though. It is extremely hot, so bring plenty to drink and a sun hat!
Amazing views from the tower! A very cheap entrance to the castle. Quite a steep hill to the entrance of the Castle and then a few steps to the top or you can walk the footpath.
Leiria Castle is a beautiful and well-preserved historical site with stunning panoramic views of the city. The walk up is totally worth it, especially at sunset. You can explore the old walls, towers, and even a small museum inside. It’s peaceful, scenic, and full of history!

Quiet seaside village with tourist facilities & a large dune-backed beach with strong waves.

Stunning beach with various levels due to thd water erosion , the sand is white and soft , the waves a powerful and continuous. There are several access points along the beach via wooden staircases it is a very long and wide beach with plenty of room for a large amount of people . There are several car parks in the town with a load of street parking .
A very long, sandy beach with golden sand color... there are two caffees on the beach for some drinks or snack/lunch. It was not crowded at all during 2nd half of August 2021, but the sea was coldish and it was a bit windy. Probably depends on the day-to-day weather.
Lovely beach. Enough space to find a nice place for yourself. We enjoyed our time there. There a WC and showers you can use for free. Several restaurants for just a quick drink or a full meal.
Nice sandy beach, very long, plenty of space for everyone, good for walking, coffee shops and restaurants nearby; the parking is on street and it's free.
Absolutely amazing beach , white fluffy sand with partial sand dunes and the mist amazing crashing waves with a lovely promenade above to stroll and observe all going on at the beach . There are a wooded steps down to the beach at various points, there are plenty of beach bars dotted all along the beach . This is a lovely beach to chill on with plenty of street and car park parking close by . Well worth a visit .
Beautiful white sand beach and dunes. I feel really free when I walk around there.
Beautiful beach but the waves can be dangerous.
Nice beach with white clean sand. It's quite wavy when it's windy. There were toilets and water to clean yourself at the entrance. It's safe for the kids to enjoy the sea and there are a lot of big sea shells.

The construction of the See began in 1546, according to a project by architect Afonso Álvares, who opted for the mannerist style abroad, retaining a harmonious interior with three naves of the same height, of late Renaissance inspiration. The church was consecrated only in 1574, when it had no sacristy, or other dependencies. In the following centuries some changes have been made thanks to episcopal action. The 1755 earthquake caused serious damage to the main facade, whose reconstruction began the following year. In 1772, D. Frei Miguel de Bolhões and Sousa had the bell tower built a little away from the building, over the old medieval tower of the gates of the sun, which marked the southern entrance into the castle wall. In 1810, during the Napoleonic wars, a fire partially consumed the interior of the church. Outstanding a sober, baroque and mannerist architecture, the See of Leiria has some similarities to those of Portalegre and Miranda do Douro and also bears some vestiges of gothic heritage. It has Latin cross plant and three naves of equal height, separated by pillars. The maneer-style chancel, dated the seventeenth century and is by Baltasar Álvares and Friar João Turriano. It integrates the altarpiece with paintings by Simão Rodrigues, which portray episodes of the life of the Virgin Mary. Two large baroque organs that overlap two side chairs complete the decoration.
The tower is on the slope, apart from the church, very interesting.
did a quick visit as we're on a 80 minute transit between buses at a nearby bus station, we arrived here at the cathedral at 0930, not sure if there's Sunday mass as the church was empty, we prayed the rosary and gave thanks to mother Mary and Lord Jesus,
Majestic beautiful church
A very beautiful church, both from the inside and outside. Its simple look just somehow fits the surroundings and doesn't stand out in any bad way. Regular Misa (Mass) can be attended by anyone who wishes to enter.
Very beautiful church, perfect for praying.
The Leiria's main church right on the city's downtown. Near the Leiria's castle and other important spots on the city. Have masses all days at 8:00 AM. There are also a touristic way based on the Eça de Queiroz novel The Crime of Father Amado which was based on this church and the neighborhood. Some great place to have good or drink nearby.
Says it's open. It's closed for renovations. Wasted trip. Two stars for the view.

After visiting Leiria Castle, we noticed a building to the left and decided to check it out. To our surprise, we’d stumbled upon this hidden gem of a museum, tucked away from the main path. We were delighted to find it open, and even better free on Sundays! Inside, it’s beautifully laid out, with captivating stories and exhibits about the history of moviemaking. There’s even an interactive section that’s both fun and fascinating. Such an unexpected and wonderful find!
It's a really good place to visit and learn stuff about how cameras work, perspective, light and a lot more. It also has some expositions with different themes that might be interesting depending on your taste. The ticket isn't expensive and is worth the visit. Giving 4 stars just because a good chunk of the interactive things are not working, unplugged or just plain broken (specially the digital ones). Even so it's a good visit nonetheless. Recommend
Underwhelming and not well maintained. The camera section has no labels on the items on display. Most of the "light" contraptions are out of service. Not worth it.
The museum has a collection of film paraphrenia, some exhibition spaces, and an activity area (some of the items work there). It's a bit haphazard and devoid of contextual information.
Very beautiful and we'll organise the collection and entertainment too
Some amazing exhibitions that are definitely worth seeing.
I love the history of motion picture, When I found out that there is museum for it in Portugal without any hesitation I visited it . I highly recommend this museum for all those photography, cinema, technology and history lovers . You wont be regret . The things inside museum are interaction and you will be amused in all your visit time.
Nice things, but too little and ONLY Potuguese text. The Photo exebition was totally without historically inspiration or insight. When you enter a museum/exebition, and the guard are eating his hot food at the counter and 30 % of the museum is empty (the basement, with the most beautyfull medieval collums!!!) you already know that this is a second rate experience.

It is good to visit while you are in Leiria, beside very impressive castle, the museum also have some history to present. Ticket price for youth (10-25 years old) is in cost of 1.05 EUR Firstly you will meet with prehistoric period from the times before human stepped on earth. There is nice exhibition of dinosaurs fossils and fossils of footprints as well, also with some fossilized bones and full skeletons of smaller animals, mammals included. The there is some history from the Roman empire period and at last some pottery and sacral art mostly from XVII-XIX centuries. It was nice to see and I think place would be interesting for kids also.
Great experience. Have a lot of Leiria's history.
Went for a first time, with school guided visit So many interesting things to learn about city and surroundings
Amazing exhibitions, some of the art work is beautiful and a lot of the modern re- interpretations are really well done.
Very nice small museum, staff was very friendly.
Amazing place. Loved it. Interesting exhibitions, and very good disposition of the items. Ample space, lots of natural light. When I was there, they was an absolutely fantastic exhibition of a lady called Virgínia Goes, of a chess board. Awesome!
Great renovation project and interesting collection to explore local history. It deserves 5 stars. Gave 3 as we went there on a Sunday morning and after the visit we coundn't have lunch in the area: few restaurants and all closed on Sunday, disappointing.
This was my 4th visit to the museum. You have an audio guide in English and Portuguese and written information also in these languages and in French, German and Spanish. You find an archaeological of the history of the territory, with objects, riche informations of the identity of the place. A second place complementary and also with temporary exhibitions and a curious permanent collection, mostly paintings. You should definitely visit. To accomplish, visit the "menino do Lapedo" beautiful nature área, 5 km of Leiria.

We loved it! It was pretty much private as we were the only ones there during that time. Rita received us and gave us the tour, she was incredibly nice and she made our tour even more special. We were able to try a very distinct orange wine and some other amazing options. My only recommendation is that you start selling the olives as well cause they were delicious! We liked that it is an organic and small winery as opposed to a big and commercial one. Highly recommend a visit!
What an amazing place in an amazing setting. We had a great day with Rita, she was a fantastic host and very knowledgeable about the wine making process. 6 wines to taste with a meat and cheese board, bread, olives and tomatoes. Would definitely recommend.
What a nice experience, and so close to our new home in A Dos Negros. We will be back with family and friends. Rita is a great host, loved talking to her about the wines and Portugal. Love the dry wines.
This winery was such a great experience. Silvio showed us around the winery and explained how the wine was made. We loved this winery specifically because it was organic and uniquely located. The views of the grape fields are gorgeous. Whether you’re just going as a couple or in a larger group, I highly recommend this winery!
Rita was so knowledgeable of the process and history of her winery. We had a private tasting at their secluded location looking over the vineyards, it was beautiful! She was very attentive to our needs, and we had a great time learning about the different wines. Would visit again! Thanks Rita for accommodating us!
What a great experience! Rita and Diago were incredibly insightful. They taught us all about the small batch wine making process, shared bread and olives and even made great recommendations for local places. Will definitely be returning!
We had a lovely afternoon with friends yesterday, doing a tour and wine tasting at Vinhos Cortém. Our group thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Not only was it very interesting, but also Rita was really charming and witty. In our wine tasting, Rita described each wine's composition and history, to help us understand their bouquet and flavors better. We enjoyed all the wines we tried, but the Pinot was beloved by all. What a great way to spend a hot summer afternoon: sitting at table in the shade and sipping delicious wines with a lovely view. We will be back again!
Amazing winery with the nicest staff! We did tasting of 6 wines with Rita, who is a delight. We were fortunate to meet the owner, Christopher Price, who provided great historical context about the wines and the region. Update: We returned a few days later as this is our favorite winery in Portugal. The winery was closed as we didn't have a reservation however we called and one of the workers, Silvio, came from out of the vineyard to help us. He was immensely knowledgeable about the wines, explaining more about the Cab Sav and the Cab and Merlot blend, one of our favorites. This is one of the best wineries we've visited and look forward to returning again soon!

This is Portugal's very first paper mill. It's free to enter and view the exhibits and see the water wheels behind. It also functioned as a cereal mill. You can see how the water wheel functioned to turn the mill. There is also a demonstration area where you can see how paper is made.
I love the Moinho. Don't understand why more people are unaware of this little gem of a place.
Nice little museum that allows to get a taste of the ancient history. Some things are translated in English.
Interesting information, great ambience, quality service, lovely places to relax. Free of charge!!! A must when visiting Leiria
Lovely museum, with beautiful exhibition rooms. Staff was super friendly, we loved the visit, and the highlight was to learn how to make paper. Would definitely recommend
Take audio guide! It’s really interesting place
If you want to get good, freshly milled flour in Portugal, this is 100% the place to go! It's a good museum as well and a great showcase of how you can put older places to good use. Worth a visit.
A charming oasis in the city—definitely worth a visit. Free of charge

Nice view to the Leiria, when I came was not possible to enter the church, but stairs are something common as well as beautiful for northern Portuguese style.
Wonderful place. Unfortunately it was closed, according to Google it should be open
Amazing view especially at night
Nice view. A shame to be close.

A lovely historical old market restored and finished in the early 1920's..also a gathering point for the locals during 40/50 years or so. Now houses some interesting shops and restaurants as well as a connection with the arts and theatre. Fascinating building and another lovely one in and around this lovely city of Leiria...I look at Leiria as a big town rather but it is classified as a city due to it's population.
Good place for a kick snack and a coffee.
Ex market turned into a social and cultural center.
A rehabilitated and converted market to a new cultural space. Very nice to be visited.

We are traveling with 3 young kids. The campground staff is very friendly and kind. There was a funny mix up when we were assigned a pitch, and we ended up with one that wasn't super flat - so just keep a look out if you cant level your caravan. For us, even without leveler, it ended up ok. The campground is great and the kids LOVED the swimming pool. The evening kids club had passionate and friendly staff, and the kids enjoyed their (first ever) cinema :-).
We stayed here recently and on first arriving were a little disappointed — it’s quite a touristy kind of campsite, not really the small, quiet, green places we usually prefer. But in the end, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Even the loud music at night and the many children running around (and making lots of noise, as children do!) didn’t bother us at all. In fact, it all added to the lively atmosphere. We had a very good time and would happily come back again sometime.
Great site although it was quite windy whilst we were there. We picked the most expensive pitches and they were huge. Entertainers were brilliant, lots going on. Face paintjng for free etc. Pool area is great with decent slides and next to the bar. Water was cold but if it wasn't windy that wouldn't have been a problem. Indoor pool is beautiful. Cycled to the beach which had a steep hill but manageable. Beach had lots going on. Would definitley return.
It is a very nice campsite in reasonable price in a fantastic location. Amazing San Martinho beach is nearby and we cycled there each second day. Campsite is big and on the hill. Outside pool is great. It just needs a roof like the one in Lagos to be fantastic. Indoor pool is ok but I didn’t like completely wet floors around it during whole day (you need to do something about it). Staff is really friendly and helpful. I will come back. Recommended!!
Loved it. Loads of activities for the kids. Excellent facilities and clean. The food is really nice in restaurant at a good price. We camped on quite chalky ground instead of grass or earth so that would be the only criticism I'd have as it makes the tent really scuffed etc. But overall it's a really cool campsite in an excellent location.
I had a very pleasant holiday at this campsite, where I stayed in a bungalow. Although small, the bungalow was in excellent condition, very clean, and well-equipped. The campsite offers a common laundry room, and the shared bathrooms are also in great condition. The activities for children are a highlight, with a pool and water slides that provided a lot of fun. The staff were always friendly and helpful, contributing to a positive experience. The only criticism I have is regarding the prices at the campsite's restaurant and supermarket, which seemed excessively high. However, I still recommend this campsite for those looking for a well-equipped, clean place with good activities for the family.
We had a very enjoyable stay in this campsite. We've been to many campsites in Europe but this stood out with the amazing helpful staff(I have reduced mobility so found it difficult walking up a stairs with no handrail. I asked to be moved and the reception did all they could to assist me with this request. We ended up staying an additional night!) The restaurant served exceptional food, which is very rare for a campsite
Awesome 👏🏻 Nothing to complain about. Super friendly and helpful reception, amazing animation team. Clean, big facilities. Big outdoor and heated indoor pool, water slides, pool for toddlers. Good restaurant with reasonable prices and mini market next to it. Variety of accommodations: tent, glamping, tent with furniture, pitches for caravan, bungalow, etc. lots of outdoor activities, mini golf, football, volleyball, mini disco for your kids. We felt like in a nice resort. Really one of the best camp sites we’ve ever been. Definitely coming back.

Very well organized, everything nice and neat. Staff always ready to assist when needed. There's even a spot to have a good coffee with a wonderful view of Leiria Castle. I wish I had more time to stay there more often 😊
It is a good place. The amount of chairs and tables is decent, but not so much when it comes to plugs and electric extensions. The staff is amazing and helpful. They know from the top of their head exactly the correct shelf in which your book resides. My only complaint is about the cleaning. While the overall aspect seems impeccable, I always sneeze and get a running nose here, and I am only allergic to mold and dust. I am afraid there could be a lot of mold on the ceiling. It could be dust in the books too, of course. I love spending time here, though.
Very professional people. It has a wide variety of books, and many activities. Good place to read, and be relaxed
Great location, books on all kind of subjects

Officially designated a 'praia fluvial', it now also offers lifeguard, bar and café support in summer, blending peaceful nature with thoughtful amenities.
Great place for a summer swim in the middle of nowhere. It's a freshwater lagoon on the way to the beach.
One of the hidden gems of Portugal, Lagoa da Ervedeira. A wonderful place in the nature, easy to access by car. You can go the beach, have a picnic, read a book on the bench by the water or simply have a nice walk around the lagoa.
Peaceful place, small but very nice beach for toddlers and babies.
Nice cute sandy beach. Great for some light water sports. Good amenities like WC, coffee place, showers, easily accessible, spacious parking. Even has tables for picnics.
On an sunny weekday in March no one else on this spot. Very cool place for a relaxed walk around.
Hidden gem, near the coast. It is possible to have a meal in the nature, swim and walk around the lake. Scenic location recently improved with infrastructure. At the end is just a lake, but if you are nearby and enjoy some time connecting with the nature, this place is a nice option for the afternoon.

It's a very nice space in Leira. We went to see a tribute to Abba which was very nice.
Beautiful theater, very spacious and pretty well-kept. Comfortable seating, although a little short on legroom. Good sound and lighting.
Nice place. Easy to reach. The acoustics are a bit off but in general would recommend. Comfortable chairs.
The oldest and biggest teather in Leiria. It can accomodate all kinds of performance : theatery, music, dance, public speaches and also movies exhibition
Nice bar and great place to watch a spectacle
Absolutely awesome I think 🤔 a lot of countries can take note of this dinner it's for all kinds of class people especially for the once in need to have a cheap healthy meal and been served by a great team of people. They deserve a 5 plus absolutely special. I will be going there again soon.
Great theater, very comfortable seats for plus size people. Enjoyed the venue a lot.
Beautiful theater, big one, occasionally interesting events. Mostly theater, concerts and dance. I haven't formed a legit opinion about acoustics, but seems to be very good. Used to be the only Cinema nearby 15-20 years ago, always full house. Recommend to check the website. This theater in duo with Miguel Franco Theater, which displays mostly indie or international movies, will provide you always something to do.
