Incredible cave experience! Definitely take advantage of the cave tour - it’s a fairly easy hike be a use of the stairs, ropes and railings. The guide had flashlights for us and was very well informed. It did not seem that the had English speaking guides, but there was one person at the reception area who did. We went with friends who could translate Portuguese to English for us if we didn’t understand. This turned out to be very important in terms of safety. The guide was very kind and answered all our questions. He had great ideas for photo opportunities and helped us understand the cave in beautiful ways. We were able to pay with debit, Pix, or cash. The parking lot has a very nice bathroom building that is kept clean. It also has a shaded moto parking area under a tree. The restaurant seemed nice but we did not try it. Would definitely take visitors to this cave!
Unforgettable experinece. Natural amd no lights. Very dusty walkway, so sandals is not a wise choice. If you have good flashlight, or even better, a headlight, bring it with you.
Very nice. It takes approximately 1,5 hours to visit the cave. Important to have cash money for the entrance fee. The restaurant looks very good although we didn’t eat there.
Incredible and unforgettable experience. Ware some sports comfortable clothes, bring small water bottle, and go for a incredible adventure. In the cave you can find pure serenity which I love it. Don’t worry to go in summer in the you will always found cold and quite. Love for this place.
This place is a natural wonder with amazing views. The cave has a cool rapeling activity for those who like adventures. It also has has good access, restaurant, bathroom and food facilities.
Impressive cave with lots to discover.
It’s amazing cave! It was the first time I visited one and it’s simple amazing. Many breathe taking moments. And our guide Raimundo was the best!
A wondrous place. It was like Jules Vernes' story: a journey from the center of the Earth

You don't need to pay to get in, for safety you need to register that's all! Love it and what an amazing view!
It’s an okay spot to relax, with some nice blue waters. However, some visitors might be put off by the small fish that nibble on dead skin around your feet. There's also a cave where you can see vibrant blue water, but it only appears under specific conditions—at certain times of the year, during a particular time of day, and only in sunlight. For most of the time, there’s not much to see. There are paid activities available, but I wouldn’t recommend it as the sole focus of your day—more as a stop on a broader day trip. Personally, I wouldn’t go back.
A very touristy and family friendly place with extra money to spend on zip line, snorkeling, photos or/and restaurants. The caves are nice, but beware you are not the only one who explores them.
The landscape is quite underwhelming compared to other landscapes in this area. Also the owner transferred the landscape into a terrible kind of cheap amusement park. Prices are way too high and for every little but you have to pay extra. Would defenetly NOT recommend to go there!
A private Person completely capitalized and exploites this wonderful nature. First you pay entrance, you are not allowed to bring your own food and drinks so you have to buy it there and inside there is just a tiny place in the river where you are allowed to have a bath. We had to wait 60 minutes to see the cave. The nature is beautiful but the price and the financial exploitation of this place was disgustingly. Can not recommend.
Beautiful place to snorkel. We snorkeled in the cave and saw lots of fish and a turtle. The water is crystal clear. The flying fox zipline is short but fun. The buffet lunch was good.
Lovely place to visit for snorkeling or a swim in the lake
Very busy river beach area situated within a federally protected area. Activities are privately run and include zip line and snorkeling in a cave. Food and beverages are typical fare and priced higher than normal.

Lovely place for couples and as well children. 3 way to go in. You can have very quite swimming. Water activities. Restaurant. Shopping. And many more. Enjoy the natural water.
This was very pretty but definitely depends on how much sunlight there is that day. We were the only ones there for a moment and it was cool to hear the bats flying around a bit in the distance. I’d love to be able to swim in there! But yes very pretty view if you think about it being preserved and untouched. Glad it was part of the whole park
A rip-off and a disappointment. Have you ever seen those side-by-side comparisons of the actual burger you get served compared with the embellished advertised pic used to sell it? Here it's the same. The turquoise waters with the sun beam going through them maybe happens once a year and they must have used Photoshop big time. I guess it would be OK, if they didn't charge 40 BRL for this. A total rip off.
This place is beautiful but likelihood of the light being right and the daylight robbery of this privatised piece of nature makes it not worth it. Entrance alone is R$ 40 and that doesn't get you much here, expect many more hidden fees everywhere and they are not cheap! Rather spend your precious time doing other things in Chapada. Avoid!
Unimpressive when compared to others in the region.
(Translated by Google) The visit to the Blue Grotto will be very quick, and the site is open only for observation. Tourists are not allowed inside the cave, nor are they allowed to swim. Once there, the goal is to take beautiful photos and try to capture the heart-shaped image formed by the sunlight on the water. It's a beautiful sight! Take advantage of the strategically positioned rock for a photo. Check the time of daylight.

We had visited this place as part of our trip to Chapada Diamantina. There were not that many people when we visited this place. We did not swim in the area within the cave. Once inside the cave, the steps are made of wood and handrails (wooden) are there to hold on and it is very safe. However, the steps leading to the cave entrance is stone steps and they are uneven and can be slippery if wet. Elderly persons need to be very careful. Also the pool is about 60 meters below.
Quite a beautiful place, a lot of parking space. 5 minutes downhill to the cave. It now costs 70 reals per person (includes life vest, snorkel, and goggles).
Pure tourist attraction. We were allowed to stay in the water for 15 mins. That’s it. The place is a bit smaller than expected but still worth a look. You can’t dive, since it is mandatory to wear avest.
Really loved my visit to Poço Azul. They make sure it’s all very safe and it was a very unique experience swimming in the cave. I might have been lucky that there were no big groups when I was swimming, that made the experience relaxing and fun. Really glad I visited this place.
The cave is beautiful, floating experience is great, but this place has so much potential. It would be great to have someone explaining things about the place, historical information… the staff didn’t say much, just showed us around and gave us the rules for swimming.
It’s ok but not really special. If you ever been to Yucatán and have seen the cenotes this place becomes very normal
Beautiful, best to come at noon to get the sunlight inside the cave.
A must go in Chapada. quick and easy visit , well organized . Amazing swim the cave so beautiful . Also the road to get there…

Great place for a day break from Vale do Capão. You can combine with a visit to the Fumaça waterfall, usually tours to the top of Fumaça pass by Riachinho on the way back. You can hike from Vale do Capão or hitch hike on the way. People are kind enough to give rides in Vale do Capão. You can buy tickets on the spot for 12 R$ each. There's a restaurant near the entrance of the waterfall. There's no need to hire a tour guide for this hike
It is a short walk and a beautiful place to swim! This one you have to pay to get in! Amazing!
Woderful waterfall (10 reals entrance fee but it s all worth it!)
It's a simple trail, easy easy. They charged 12 reais entrance. It's best to go for sunset but be sure you're there before 4pm just so you have a refreshing swim. Around 5pm make sure you're in the first pond, all the way up where the view is best. If you want a full experience, you can hire a guide to rappel for 150 reais per person (we were in 4). The entire experience lasts 30 minutes to rappel 50m down the third pond. You can couple Riachinho with other attractions, usually Upper Fumaça.
Nice place to relax. The water is not very clean but still nice. 12RS entrance fee.
Nice place. Two hours are enough to relax. Militaries and students have discount prices.

(Translated by Google) A very professional agency which allows you to discover an exceptional region where nature is wild and grandiose. Another facet of Brazil where security is total and the atmosphere peaceful. Friendly French-speaking guides who know the region well and circuits suitable for all levels of walkers. You can visit the Chapada Diamantina with the family and see incredible sites (la fumaza, the pati valley, the colorful and picturesque town of Lençois.. .).I highly recommend this agency...a very good experience that makes you want to come back to discover a little more of this charming region. (Translated by Google) Good agency, very professional guide, good organization of the tour of this superb region. Once there, however, we had the unpleasant surprise of realizing that the package of services selected in advance was invoiced at a price approximately 2x higher than equivalent services in all the other agencies on site... So we unfortunately left with the impression of having greatly overpaid for this service. Damage. Dommage.

You can drive your car to the trailhead and park there, which will save you some effort. The view at Mirante do pati is spectacular. If you have more time you can go down to the valley and stay overnight in one of those posadas hosted by local people. Also the weather can change very quickly. We had a perfect morning but on the way back we were caught in heavy rain. So get prepared
A bit confusing here so stay with me...First things first- there are a lot of pictures of a rock sticking out and people posting for pictures on it with a full view of the valley. That is NOT at the mirante do vale do Pati, that one is located at cachoeirão (another 2 hour hike away from the mirante). Checkout my review for cachoeirão for more pics/detail. Regardless, the views are incredible from this mirante and one you should add to your list! There is parking right at the entrance of the trail head so drive right on up to it. We are active people and the hike from the parking area to the mirante took approximately 1:30h. For slower people expect 2-2:30h. The additional hike to cachoeirão took us 2h but again, if you are slow expect 3h. Few things you should consider bringing- lots of water (minimum 3lt per person), sunscreen, snacks (fruit, sandwiches, etc), comfortable shoes (preferably hiking boots), and your phone with Google Maps satellite view opened so you can track your positioning based on GPS. The trails aren't labeled so GPS will be your lifeline. Both trails can be done without a guide so save yourself some money and go have fun!

(Translated by Google) One of the most beautiful places I've ever visited was the Vale do Pati, in Chapada Diamantina, Bahia. I did the five-day, four-night trek. I highly recommend it!!! To get to Lençóis, you can go to Salvador and take a bus from the Rápido Federal company (that's what I took) at the bus station. The trip takes about 6 hours and costs around R$ 90.00 (November 2021). It's also possible to fly directly to Lençóis, but the ticket prices are ridiculously unaffordable (oh, Brazil). The return trip from Lençóis is the same. The Vale do Pati trek has rustic but well-equipped guesthouses with food, beds, showers, towels, and solar power for charging your electronic devices (there's no power when it's cloudy and the batteries are low). Bring your own toiletries and some cash to pay for any drinks you want to buy (cards are accepted, but sometimes they may not work). They offer juices during meals, coffee, and filtered water. The transport of everything, from food to dry waste, in and out of the Pati Valley, is done by donkeys. You'll see them along the way. I definitely recommend prior preparation with muscle strengthening for your legs and back before venturing into the Pati Valley, as well as good waterproof hiking boots, a good backpack with the essentials, and a raincoat. Arrive one day before and leave one day after your trek. There are agencies that provide the service with highly qualified guides, and there are guides who offer the service independently. Don't attempt anything without a guide!
