Lovely to see the barrel vaulted ceiling and church furniture made from cactus wood.
Sept.25: this nice little church is close to the town square. As we visited this church inside, a local indigenous was tapping (holy) water into a plastic container. Also a dog came drinking of this water. The inside of the church is nicely decorated.

The objective was to use it as a family chapel since, in colonial times, catechesis and religiosity were taught within the family itself. At the end of the 19th century it was renovated, leaving a neoclassical façade that was characterized by its large tympanum and an entrance narthex. Due to the earthquakes of 1903 and 1930 – in La Poma – transverse arches were incorporated into the vault of the nave. In 1947 it was declared a National Historical Monument and Vicente Nadal Mora undertook a reformulation of the façade, in which the belfry with three arches where the bells are located stands out especially. 💯% recommended!!!!!!!! This entire section of road between Cachi and Salta is beautiful. You see so many different variations in terrain depending on where you are on the route.
Sept.25: on our way back from exploring National Park Los Cardones we stopped @famous road Recta del Tin Tin. We just had to wait till 2 motorbikers got out of the way, we had than the road to ourselves. Just a few meters back @Sendero Los Caminos del Pasado there's a sign of Recta del Tin Tin & if you look across/over it you have full views of Recta del Tin Tin.
Incredible stretch of road.
Reminds me of some of the straightest roads in the USA with great views and total changes of landscape afterwards. Appreciated getting out of the car and absorbing in the grand scale!
Straight road that feels like the roads you'd find in Arizona or Utah -- that straight. The road was well kept and we didn't have any issues driving down one of the straightest routes we'd been on. Photo taken by @alejandroseveriniph (Instagram)

(Translated by Google) The story of the Viejo Almacén de Cachi is a reflection of how two seemingly distinct family traditions can unite in a single project with its own identity. Its founder and current owner, Fabio Ortiz, decided in 2008 to create a space that combined his mother's roots of an old warehouse that had operated for two decades in Cachi with his father's legacy of a pharmacy that later became a pharmacy in the city of Salta, which had been running for 68 years. It wasn't easy. Large chains displaced those neighborhood stores that had been a symbol of closeness, but far from resigning themselves, Fabio found a way to transform adversity into opportunity. Thus, the century-old furniture of that Salta pharmacy—with more than 120 years of history—found a new home in Cachi, inside a warehouse that began offering the essentials: homemade paprika and sweets, products intimately linked to the region. Little by little, that space that stood in the middle of a quiet block grew and came to life. Today, its shelves house more than 80 local products, including preserves, spices, handicrafts, and sweets, all made by local producers and artisans. Each item carries a story and an identity, making each purchase a bridge to the local culture. Recognition came when Mario Markic visited the store and photographed it on his program "En el Camino." Since then, visitors from all over the country—as well as figures from the entertainment and cultural world—have come to learn not only about the space, but also about the man behind the initiative. The Old Store of Cachi is more than a business: it is a symbol of perseverance, love for one's roots, and the ability to reinvent oneself without losing one's essence. Amid centuries-old furniture and flavors that tell stories, each visitor takes with them a piece of the past that still lives in the present. #Cachi #Salta #TurismoCultural #HistoriasArgentinas #ViajesConEncanto

Gorgeous winery. Try to go at the end of the day for the Sunset. The degustation at the terrace was outstanding. I got to try some late harvest Malbec grapes. Because of the high altitude they are small packages of intense flavor.
When we were planning our vacation - the bodega Puña was our main destination. If you planning to have a lunch - it need to have a reservation. It's easy to make on a main website - they answering pretty fast. The lunch has many options with meat and without, and the porcions are quiet big! Everything what we tried here was very good! And I'm highly recomending to leave some space in your stomach for the dessert. And if you're planning just to visit bodega for having a small tour inside or just to drink couple glasses of wine with good view- you can just come without any reservation and enjoy your time. Special word about the wines of Puña - they have a really good collection with very acceptable price. We visited this bodega twice, first time was 2 years ago, and I can say the quality of food and wines didn't change during all this time.
Amazing vine, beautiful views, awesome carrot cake. 👌🏻
I was starving after skipping lunch, so I stopped by around 4 p.m. and luckily the restaurant was open. I had a T-bone steak and a cazuela de cabrito paired with a Gran Reserva Malbec. To my surprise, it was not only much more affordable but also tastier than the wines I’ve had at major wineries across Argentina, including Catena Zapata.
Pay attention to glasses. If they fall you have to pay them (they don’t tell you in advance). We paid one broken glass fell due to wind 12.000 pesos (double the price of 2 glasses of wine)… Advance communication is a necessary to be transparent
One of the best restaurants in Cachi. Excellent service and good wines. Proceed to the menu where you can choose between different courses accompanied by a wine recommendation.
The food was just ok, the view simply amazing! Just to seat outside and relax makes everything perfect! However, as mentioned the T Bone was not rare as asked but too well cooked and the bread was horrible. The waitress (Belen) was professional.
Lovely visit to the bodega and really nice wine tasting paired with bread, cheese and nuts. 300 pesos We also stayed for lunch and really enjoyed a medium rare T-bone steak and a local dish called locro. Personalised attention and great scenery.
