From the first contact point the owner Diego was super attentive, answered numerous questions and tailored a tour for several mountains with me in a joint process. As I was planning to climb 4-5 mountains in a consecutive manner which increase in altitude and difficulty I wanted to build also a level of trust with the agency and the guide over the time. This worked perfectly as I also stayed in the wonderful guesthouse run by Diego and his family (Casa del Montañero in Machachi). Staying in Machachi offers also a lot of advantages over Quito as you avoid a lot of traffic, can recover very well during the rest days, have a beautiful views on many mountains in all directions and feel the connection to them constantly. For me this was also very good for preparing mentally for the hikes apart from the physical part. Climbing Corazón, both Iliniza Norte and Sur, Cayambe and Chimborazo was a truly special journey for me. We made it to all the peaks apart from Chimborazo, but this was due to higher circumstances such as storm and snow, forcing all present groups to turn around that day at around ~5600m. I was going with the same guide all the time building up a very good relationship, learning a lot about mountaineering and forming a strong team to tackle the varying challenges of the different mountains. Also the equipment provided by Diego (Andes Climbing) was in very good condition. I highly recommend to organise tours with him and also stay in the guesthouse (delicious breakfast, comfortable beds, good prices, lots of smiles ;) I’m super grateful for the time and will return for sure! We had signed up for 13 day itinerary with Andes Climbing (Diego) for climbing 6 peaks. We have climbed/trekked all over the world including Nepal, India, USA, Tanzania (Kili), Europe etc. This was the most disappointing experience. I felt that both Diego (organizer) and guides were not invested in our success. The whole thing felt very transactional. E.g. for my Cotopaxi climb, the guide offered minimum support and seemed keen to turn back at the first sign of tiredness. Diego seemed more interested in making money than providing the best itinerary and support. E.g. he did not include any safety training in the itinerary. I would definitely not recommend this outfit.

We did Cotopaxi summit and daytrip to basecamp. Everything where great. Diego speaks very good english and made Cotopaxi possible on short notice. The guide Marco where also very good. They suply with all the essential gear. We also stayed in his hostel, which is very nice and cozy.

Diego, the owner, is very helpful and friendly. We went with him and two other people on a trip around Cotopaxi, visiting the lake and hiking refugee, and Diego gave us a good price. We saw wild horses and foxes and overall had a great time. Upon our request, Diego also tried to help us get on a last-minute horse tour but they were just leaving when we got there. Highly recommended.
