Really good experience. The park is well managed and the tour guide was really informative. He even repeated his explanations in English for us. The park has some amazing landscapes. Basically they allow vehicles through in small convoys and you all follow your guide to each stop. One note on the negative side, the toilets at the entrance, near the museum are terrible. They were filthy and badly maintained.
Breath taking. A gift from mother nature. Spiritual and ancient.
It’s impossible to get there without your own vehicle. Also, to book only bicycle tour at 16:00 you have to reserve one day in advance. Unfortunately I arrived in the morning and didn’t know that and couldn’t wait more than 24 hrs for it. Campsite is not that comfortable, it’s just gravel surface and you can find better spots right outside of the park. Overall, I didn’t have that much of a will to go there, so I just left without visiting. Some people who visited said that quebrada de las flechas (cafayate área) is much better and I’ve visited that one already.
Fantastic landscape, nothing you’ve seen before. It’s a 40km drive through, you follow the ranger’s car, then you have five stops. It takes 3-3.5 hours all together. The stops are arranged at the most interesting looking spots and there is a wooden viewing platform arranged. You can do this with a normal car, but a pick up would be better - loads of dust. The guide was speaking Spanish only but it was easy to understand. It’s a nice day out. The latest entry is 4pm (I think!). From their leaflets I learnt that you can enter by bicycle and they do full moon walks too - this must be fantastic- they literally have a full moon calendar ready for the year. The entrance was 10K for locals, 20K for foreigners (April 2024).
Interesting visiting scheme. You go around with your own car, or a travel company car...it's a 40km ride with stops, which takes around 3 hours in total. Very interesting geologic views. The sand color varies according to the geologic period, from low, middle and high Triassic Periods
Fascinating place. 250 million years of earth's geological history in a fantastic landscape. Dinosaur fossils and more. You can visit either in your own car or as part of a tour, though always on a schedule with a park guide always present. Tour takes around 3 hours with various stop off points at the most interesting formations and at the palaeontology station to look at real dinosaur fossils. Wonderful and amazing place.
The full moon walk is fantastic, like you're in another world. Be prepared for Spanish only and you will have a great time.
My fiancé and I did a tour of Ischigualasto to do an episode of our travel blog on YouTube and we loved the experience! Not only did we go during the day, we went at night for the tour of the full moon. It was nice to do both tours because you don’t see the same things (obviously one is during the day and the other at night) but we also go to different areas. Our guide was great at telling us the history as well as keeping it funny — we were giggling the entire time. There’s a nice pit stop in the middle to recharge with food, coffee, and water at your own cost. If you’re going during the day, the last tour is at 5 and you have to hurry to make it back for the queue to pay for the full moon tour which usually starts around 9:15-9:30. Plan accordingly!

This is a wonderful little natural history museum that is totally worth the time and (teensy amount of) money you’ll spend visiting. There are 3 rooms - only one of which is dedicated to rocks and minerals. The others are (1) archaeological (local native pottery, arrow heads etc) and Arthropoda (spiders, insects etc); and (2) sea beasties (shells, starfish, corals etc) and local birds and mammals. Throughout there is an emphasis on local stuff. Our guide was fantastic with excellent English and even more excellent knowledge. I especially liked how the displays broke down elements, minerals and rocks and showed how atoms and crystal structure works
Very genuine place, you feel the love and passion of the owner and you just have to let you transport from all their knowgeld and history. You can lern a lot! If its not enought just stay on the beautiful garden to feel the beauty and the sound of the births: you will be regenerate!
This Is A Private Museum That Was Created By Gabriel And His Brother About 17 Years Ago And It Is Quite Impressive! The Museum Consists Of Three (3) Rooms: 1) Rocks And Stones 2) Insects And Other Poisonous Animals 3) Shells And Photos Of Various Flowers, Birds, Etc. I Want To Personally Thank Gabriel For The Tour! I Also Want To Thank Jorge, Our Driver And Tour Guide For Taking Us There! I Also Want To Thank Pinkanta Viajes For Making This Fantastic Trip Possible! Narrated By Howard Paul Shore Thursday, February 2, 2017
(Translated by Google) The vast and in-depth knowledge Osvaldo, the guide and creator of this museum, possesses, is impressive, especially regarding stones, minerals, elements, physics, and chemistry. We were amazed by the incredible collection not only of local materials but also pieces from all over the world. Osvaldo's dedication and passion for everything he created is admirable. Extremely educational and very well organized and categorized. Charging 3,000 pesos for admission feels like a rip-off; it should cost at least 10 times more.
