Great place to visit. I'd definitely recommend it. Our guide was Marsha and she was very knowledgeable and polite. My wife and I had a very nice rum punch in the basement where there was a bar. We were given the little jars we had the punch in as a gift.
Overall, visiting Rose Hall was a great experience. It was wonderful to learn about the local culture and hear interesting historical facts. The tour provided a lot of valuable information, though at times it felt a bit rushed. We would have appreciated more time in individual rooms and opportunities for questions and discussion. Despite that, it was an enjoyable and worthwhile visit, offering plenty of insight into the history and culture of the area.
Definitely worth the visit. My friend and I did this tour and our tour guide was a lovely. Interesting stories. P.S. Try the witch’s brew from the pub there.
Really interesting place to learn about the legend of the white witch. They offer both day and evening tours and both are quite informative and very helpful to understand what took place back in the day. We certainly recommend if you are interested in spooky, local history and also antique items.
Ohhhhhh my gosh, if you are in Jamaica GOOOOO!!! It’s well worth it. We all had such a wonderful time. STUNNING place and it’s an excellent way to learn history. If you’re a Johnny Cash or Ghost Adventures fan this is a MUST. Staff was absolutely amazing, knowledgeable and welcoming. Such beautiful people, I could listen and learn for hours.
Fantastic experience! Our guide was wonderful! My mom and driver who are natives always was too nervous to come here but we convinced them and they had a wonderful time Learned so much!
The night tour was perfect, I've done a lot of historic mansion tours in different cities and this was by far the most fun. The house is amazing, the tour was "interactive", and it was really interactive. :) Everyone one was engaged, on edge and scared through the whole tour. Our guide Ricky was great! Very entertaining.
Great tour, fun, interactive and you learn a lot of history. Definitely do the night tour

First let me start my wife and I have only been playing golf for about 3 months and this was our first 18 holes and it was an experience to remember. The course was breathtaking and not very technical. Wide open gateways which made it easier for beginners. We loved looking at the ocean from some of the tee boxes, nothing like back home in Georgia. Our caddy (Mario)was the best. I was apprehensive about getting a caddy, but it was was well worth it. It was like getting free lessons AND playing golf at the same time. Cinnamon Hill was without a doubt the most beautiful course we have played yet and we are looking forward to White Witch that we are planning on doing in February.
A fun day golfing 🏌️, and definitely didn’t want to come here initially. Thought it would be lame , not well maintained and a boring course . I was absolutely 💯 wrong and glad we came to golf here. Had such a memorable experience with 18 holes and was not busy at all. I don’t think you need a Caddy either . Front 9 and back 9 are like 2 completely different courses ⛳️🙌🥳
Super hot in June but a great experience. Must go early before it’s too hot and humid. Took a picture in front of Johnny Cash’s house. It’s a pretty Golf Course, waterfall and lots of nature.
Beautiful and fun course. Front nine has spectacular views of the ocean while the back nine is tucked in the forest. The staff were all friendly and warm. Oneill Smith (pictured) was a fantastic caddie, coach, and therapist both days I played (December 8 and December 12, 2024). Highly suggest this course for anyone going to Montego Bay!
I played here on my wedding day with two threesomes and we absolutely loved the course and the pro shop staff were very nice and accommodating. However my group did not have a good experience with our caddy, I believe his name was Owen. He seemed as if he did not want to be out there with us that day. I understand beginner and rusty golfers may not be ideal for a caddy that is used to working with better golfers, but his attitude was definitely sour when we were just trying to have a good time and enjoy the morning. I was hoping to bring my bride to play the same week, but my experience with him led to cancelling that tee time. Very disappointed.
Stayed at the Hilton Rose Hall which was right next to this beautiful course. Everyone at the course was amazing but it is HOT so either bring lots of water and fluids or buy some when you’re there. Also make sure you take a caddie, they are worth the money and you’re on vacation! Thank you again
I have played this course at least 5 times while vacationing, this is the FIRST time i have seen it in the greatest shape it has been in. In playing both this one and Half Moon hands down this is the better choice for ocean views mountain holes. The best thing is Half Moon is no where worth $45 more. Caddies at both courses is great. Only reason 4 starts is it is a island course but as a island course its a 5. Great Job Cinnamon Hill Team!
My husband and I played here on our honeymoon and had a blast. All staff was so nice and welcoming. Very different golf experience but loved every second of it. Nike clubs we rented were a bit older but they worked perfectly fine for us. The course is beautiful. Some of the greens are rougher but the views get better and better as you go. The front 9 has more of the ocean views and the back 9 transitions to more jungle and rolling hills. It was a little pricey with having to rent clubs and buy our balls but it was an experience we will never forget. We got there early and used the driving range prior. They allowed us to start 30 mins early and hardly had to worry about how fast or slow we played because there wasn't that many people on the course. It was a hot round of golf but it was so great. Would recommend playing here as its an amazing experience if you love golf.

What an unbelievable experience! Talk about dramatic 1st hole views. Oh my goodness, it was an absolute dream come true. The moment you enter the gate, the scenery is out of a movie and literally jaw dropping. The staff were all so amazingly nice and funny and certainly eager to make me feel like family. The bartender warned me about the witches brew, it got me good mon... and I really enjoyed Ericka navigating me thru a pretty challenging course. Her knowledge of the game, course management, and overwhelmingly contagious positive spirit made me feel so blessed to have met her. I felt so bad she had to witness me hack her beautiful course up so bad.. LoL.. I highly recommend this course to anyone looking for an awesome time with spectacular views. 😎
White witch was a beautiful golf experience! The views from high up in the mountains were amazing. My caddie Sharon was super knowledgeable, Oshea and Donovan were helpful as well. Yes the greens had some rough patches and the course is not easy but overall this course should be on your golf bucket list if you come to Jamaica. Thank you!
Overall, the course is a great experience. It’s a Caribbean course and I’ve always tempered expectations when in those destinations, so just know the greens aren’t “elite US club” level and there are definitely some rough patches. From what my caddie said, they were straight dirt less than two years ago, so they’ve made strides to improve. The layout is awesome and every hole is unique, there’s not a single boring hole on the property. The views of the ocean are beautiful!
Caddy is great golf course is great but not the greens covid really did a number on them, the greens need a lot of love it is mostly dirt. But if your looking for a fun time this is the place for you if you are serious golfer the greens will upset you . We had a great time good weather great caddy . Ya mon
My husband & I came to this course yesterday. We are on a cruise & booked this spot to play while our ship was docked in Jamaica. The course was absolutely stunning. The staff was amazing & super friendly. Our golf caddy Diane made the experience that much better for us. She knew her stuff & was a joy to be around all day. We will highly recommend to anyone we know coming to Jamaica & we will let them know to request Diane as their caddy. If we ever find ourselves traveling to Jamaica again we will definitely be back! PS- my husband wanted me to add that Diane has EXCELLENT golf & course knowledge.
I went to the location for a wedding. The land was amazing, very well preserved. There is no air-conditioning system in the buildings, but there are fans. The view was amazing for a wedding. I highly recommend
This place is truly a 5star experience! Nadia was my caddy and an absolute pleasure - she is kind, funny, and gave great advice on the course. I definitely recommend requesting her! The entire staff were exceptional in their service and I felt very at home, even while navigating a new place. The course is beautiful and the views from that elevation were probably the best in Jamaica. I'll definitely be back!
I may not be a golfer, but my visit to White Winter Golf Course left a lasting impression. The impeccable turf and well-manicured greens are a testament to the dedication of the staff. The surroundings exude a sense of service and attention to detail that can only enhance the experience for avid golfers. From what I observed, everything here seems to be perfectly aligned for a great tee-off. A top-notch destination for golf enthusiasts and non-golfers alike!

We had an amazing stay at Villa Half Moon and are truly thankful for the unforgettable week we spent there. The villa was beautiful, peaceful, and just what we needed — but what made the experience truly special was the exceptional service. A heartfelt thank you to Gawain — Mr. G — who went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home every single day. From the smallest details to the thoughtful touches, he made everything easy, smooth, and enjoyable. Always present, never intrusive, always kind and professional — Mr. G truly elevated our stay. A heartfelt thank you to the entire staff who made our stay so special. From the wonderful woman who prepared our breakfast every morning, to the one who kept the villa spotless every day, and the person who maintained our pool — your kindness and attention to detail didn’t go unnoticed. Everyone played a part in making this a truly memorable experience for us. We left with great memories and deep gratitude. Looking forward to coming back someday. Thank you again!
This has been our resort of choice for several years. The food is magnificent and the location is ideal. The recent upgrades have been appreciated. However the quality of the staff has steadily been declining. The service was disappointing and frankly, the management seems cavalier about it. There will always be stand outs. Talent and conscientiousness speak for themselves. But outside of that, attention to training is key. There has been a steep decline in that department. The room service staff is always top notch. But good luck with housekeeping, grounds personnel and the regular wait staff. I hope that an intervention can be run before the experiences are totally ruined by a lack of kindness, plain rudeness and a generalized spirit of unwillingness. No one is asking for colonial genuflecting, just basic customer service training.
During our honeymoon in Montego Bay, we spent a day at Half Moon Resort, and it was absolutely incredible! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with the kindest hospitality and surrounded by the most breathtaking scenery. The resort is stunning — peaceful, beautifully maintained, and truly feels like paradise. We enjoyed every minute of our day pass experience. The water was crystal clear and calm, and we practically had the beach to ourselves. It was so relaxing and romantic — the perfect escape for newlyweds. The food and drinks were delicious, and the staff made sure we had everything we needed. Half Moon Resort is luxury, tranquility, and beauty all in one. Whether you’re staying overnight or visiting on a day pass, it’s a must-visit spot in Montego Bay. We left feeling refreshed, happy, and even more in love. ❤️
Half Moon is an extraordinary 5-star resort featuring private villas on a pristine private beach about 5.5-miles east of Sangster International airport in Montego Bay. The villas are open, comfortable, and warm. A large furnished balcony opens to expansive views of the lush grounds and the Caribbean just beyond. The grounds are immaculate and breathtakingly beautiful. Each room is provided with a refrigerator, in-room coffee/tea, bottled water, and an assortment of Fern Tree toiletries. WiFi is excellent and the staff is friendly and helpful. Plenty of bicycles are free to use to move about the resort, but cannot be taken outside the resort. Several restaurants are available for your dining pleasure. The resort also features a golf course and equestrian center.
My absolute favourite hotel in Montego Bay! The property is quite vast and serene. I usually stay by Founders Cove and I enjoy the beach, it always feels like it’s my private beach. The breakfast buffet is fantastic and I’ve always enjoyed the food although it’s a little pricey (at least it’s been consistently good). Despite being right along a main road I’ve never had any issues with noise. It’s a great place for a little romantic getaway or even for a personal escape from daily life
We did not stay at the Hotel itself but visited the SPA. The ladies at the SPA desk were so helpful and friendly with booking us and explaining everything to us. This SPA was a nice experience with being able to visit the sauna/steam room before our massage. The only thing that threw me off was during the massage there was no music going..typically there is like a rain sound going or something like that,
We were placed at this hotel for one night by Virgin Atlantic due to an 18-hour flight delay, and I can only say that the resort is absolutely incredible. The grounds are vast, spotless, and truly breathtaking. We arrived quite late, and during check-in, the receptionist had us sign a bike waiver. My husband and I, exhausted from the long journey, didn’t understand why this was necessary and signed it, assuming we wouldn’t need the bikes. However, after exploring the resort, we quickly realised that the grounds are so large that using a bike is essential to getting around. It would have been helpful for the receptionist to explain this to us, as it made the bikes vital for getting from one place to another. Without them, it would have taken at least 30 minutes to walk to the lobby for dinner. Upon being driven to our room by a hotel attendant in a buggy (again, because of how large the grounds are), the experience took a bit of a turn. The attendant didn’t communicate with us at all and drove extremely fast, almost as though he were annoyed by our late arrival due to the flight delay. This was disappointing, especially since we had no idea where we were going. When we arrived at our suite (the Eclipse Room, which was a lovely gesture), we had to go upstairs, but the attendant just dropped us off at the side and didn’t offer to help with our luggage. While we’re not entitled guests, it would have been a nice touch for him to offer assistance, especially since it seemed like an oversight on his part. He didn’t even say goodbye, which made me assume his shift was over, but regardless, the lack of interaction was a bit disappointing. After such a long journey, we were hoping for a little more warmth and guidance from the hotel staff. While we understand they may have been busy, a simple greeting and an offer to assist with our luggage would have gone a long way to make us feel more welcomed. A little courtesy can make a big difference, especially when guests are arriving at night after a delay. On a positive note, once we entered our room, we were in awe. It was beautiful, immaculate, and perfectly appointed. The bed was also incredibly comfortable, and I truly had no complaints about the room. Considering our late arrival (around 10 PM), the kitchen staff thoughtfully arranged a burger and chips for us, and it was surprisingly delicious. The dining staff were wonderful, and we were grateful for their hospitality, especially as we had to use the bikes to get to the dining area and got a little lost in the dark. Fortunately, a kind hotel attendant we bumped into offered to guide us there, which was much appreciated. In the morning, with daylight, we could fully appreciate the luxury of this resort. It’s massive, pristine, and quiet. Breakfast was divine, and the staff in the kitchen area were exceptional. Keron, the smoothie guy, and one of the chefs, known as "Mr. Make it Happen," were particularly fantastic. Their friendly personalities really stood out, and we felt well taken care of. Despite the negative customer service from the first hotel attendant who took us to our room and the lack of communication from the reception staff regarding the bikes, overall, it was truly an incredible and memorable stay. The resort is filled with beautiful palm trees and lush vegetation throughout, making it an unforgettable experience.
This was my third stay at the hotel, and while there are some positives worth noting, the overall service experience left us disappointed and made our stay far less enjoyable than it should have been. On the positive side, the hotel itself is beautiful. The location is excellent, the grounds are spacious, and the pools and common areas are well designed. A few members of the staff—particularly some of the wait staff—delivered outstanding service, going out of their way to be kind, attentive, and professional. Those moments of excellence stood out and made a real difference. Unfortunately, the overall service fell well below expectations. The check-in process set the tone: the staff member who assisted us was neither warm nor welcoming, and instead came across as curt, argumentative, and even hostile. She refused to honor the AmEx Fine Hotels & Resorts benefits that were clearly included with our reservation, despite my providing proof and a receipt. Rather than resolving the issue, she insisted I contact American Express directly—even though I was out of the country—an unreasonable expectation for a returning guest. The way she handled the situation, and her dismissive attitude when I asked about the room upgrade, was a poor start to our stay. Other service gaps continued throughout. Some restaurant staff were polite and professional, but others seemed uninterested, unfriendly, or only became attentive after receiving a tip. At times, it felt like service was based on a quid pro quo rather than genuine hospitality, which is not the experience you expect at a property of this caliber. The room assignment also created challenges. We were placed at one far end of the resort, nearly half a mile from the only open pool. With two children, this was difficult to manage. After requesting a closer room, we were moved—but only three buildings closer—leaving the pool still a significant distance away. To make matters worse, the beach near our room was not maintained to the same standard as the beaches closer to the center of the resort, further diminishing the experience. Lastly, while the food was good, it was very expensive for the quality and portion sizes. Overall, the amenities and a few exceptional staff members prevented this from being a truly terrible stay. But the disappointing service—not just unfriendly, but at times outright rude—overshadowed what should have been an enjoyable return visit.
