Callan Golf Club: Great value for a scenic course! Well-maintained greens & friendly staff. Enjoyable round in beautiful surroundings. Will be back
Lovely day out playing in the Open Competition in Callan Golf Club today. 4 of us enjoyed the generous fairways and fast greens. Playing off the Blue tees was tuff going but lovely warm weather helped as the course was playing long. Toasted Club Sandwich with Chips and Salad hit the spot afterwards served by friendly clubhouse staff.
Had a fantastic night out with group of collegues, the food was so delicious, well presented and generous, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend
Lots of parking, restaurant available for dinner or just tea/coffee. Lovely course. Buggies available
A well maintained parkland golf course. Suitable for all handicaps. Trolleys and buggies are available. A lovely restaurant.
Great golf club, friendly atmosphere and friendly staff.
Lovely course. Highly recommended. We will definitely be back.
GRAND COURSE. Didn't love it, need to get out on a sunny day when the full course is open, and only played with restricted holes.

This is my second visit here and I Love this place. The staff are really freindly and will have your pint at the table with a nod of the head, they have a great selection of drinks. The owners like to mingle with the customers both local and strangers. The pub itself is quite large and the decor keeps your eyes busy with colours of many sporting teams pinned to the walls and ceiling, not just your premier league teams but sports teams from many countries. I noticed there wasn't anything from Bradford so on my first visit I promised him a special scarf of Bradford City to display amongst the famous and on my second visit my promise was complete. I will be making my third visit in a couple of weeks and in anticipation of the Bantams flying high on the ceiling I will give Steppes Bar a massive 5 stars. It is now 2 weeks later and I'm back, there is my scarf proudly displayed, thanks Eddie, 10 star review for you
Lovely pub to go and have a drink with friends friendly staff, lovely and clean great atmosphere
Very hospitable.. Wonderful pint of Guinness.. The Landlord went out of his way to source gluten free crisps...
Always a grand pint! Fabulous redesign!!
Cracking little sports bar, plenty to look at and a great selection of beers on tap!
My wife and I stopped in for a pint. The owner Eddie is very friendly and gave us a tour of his pub. Lots of interesting artifacts on the walls and ceiling, each with a story of its own. If you are ever passing thru Callan be sure to stop here.
We had a lovely evening here on Sunday the 4th June ..with music and songs.. and a few scoops..we celebrated the women's virtual mini marathon in style.
Well worth a visit, were very professional during covid, done their best to make sure nobody got covid, good pint and very clean establishment. Chips, sausages and onion rings at half time during big matches, on the house.

Do not follow Google maps directions! It doesn't bring you to the entrance to walk to the Motte. Where you need to find is MOAT LANE and you walk around a couple corners and then you are there. Very beautiful this time of year. Interesting stones on the floor about the history of callan.
Lovely walk on your doorstep in callan.
