Great place for sunset. Sometimes the sun goes behind the clouds, but it doesn't spoil the location, but adds some charm. Take a jacket and a blanket to sit on. From Funchal 1 hour driving. Parking place is not so big, so come in advance to park closer
Beautiful view, tasty and fresh air. The picture especially more impressive when the sun goes down and sky is clear 🤗 And sometimes you can see that on the right side waves and wind are strong, but on the left are calm
The lighthouse looks good together with the landscape. Considering the place is quite remote there's plenty of space to park the car. There's a sign informing about exhibition, but all doors are closed, so I guess it's not up to date info.
Absolutely beautiful view point on the west coast of Madeira. The view is astonishing. We walked for about 15 minutes to the lighthouse to enjoy the nature and view on I suppose newly built villas. Than the walk from the tunnel straight to the lighthouse lets you cool off a bit. At the lighthouse you can really enjoy the nature, view and the silence.
A stunning lighthouse with a breathtaking view over the cliffs and the endless ocean. It can get quite windy, but the scenery makes it absolutely worth the visit. A perfect spot for photos, ocean lovers, and peaceful reflection.
Wow view! It was amazing. It's like you're flying. You could see the whole ocean from there. It was quiet the best place for meditate and concentrate.
Nice view. Is a parking, but during "the season" best to not even try parking at the parking spot by the light house. At the moment some works are being done under the lighthouse, but you can walk freely.
The most beautiful and impressive sunset I have ever seen.

Lovely location with stunning sea views for quite thoughts

(Translated by Google) We have been to Ponta do Pargo for the Pero festival. It is a kind of small, rather sour apple (looks like a slightly green starking) that is much appreciated by the villagers. At the party there are stalls selling products and food (quite spicy...) lots of atmosphere and a stage where popular culture groups pass by. The church is beautiful, particularly the ceiling paintings depicting local scenes.

One of the most beautiful hidden gems in the island! Please be sure to bring some food for the cat to earn his blessing. His name is Saint and he takes care of the church. We left him some food today but he is definitely hungry and appreciates any extra. We bought him food from a store 5 minutes away. There is a bag there for him as of today so if his bowl is empty be sure to refill or to buy him a new bag or a can of tuna 😃 He enjoys watching sunsets with his visitors.
What a stunning location!!! It is a hidden gem on the west side of the island. If you visit, you will be rewarded with amazing views of beautuful GREEN landscape.
We name this beautiful cat Saint. He is taking care of the Chapel, so friendly and cute 😊 if you see it give him some loves ❤️ and maybe treats 🙏
Beautiful little chapel with a stunning view
We had plenty of parking, really worth the detour!
Just amazing, peaceful and offers great and lush views
You can park your car close to the chapel and admire stunning view
A stunning, remote place in the western coast of Madeira. You will find a viewpoint here, overlooking the Atlantic. Very special to watch sunsets here!

It has been more than 10 years since we've stayed in this hotel and we still remember our holiday very fondly, including the hosts' kindness, and a bottle of lovely sparking wine for my Birthday. 😀🙏 Great to see it is still going strong - a beautifull atmospheric building, peaceful setting and excellent rates. 🌞
Really nice house with a lovely host. The terrace and pool area is great for watching the sun set over the ocean. The rooms also have really nice views over the ocean. A good breakfast. Very squeaky beds. Pool table in the lounge area inside. I’ve seen reviews about the steep road up from the hotel but it’s totally fine. We did it in a tiny rental car and it was no issue in 1st gear. Can be a bit daunting coming down the slope towards the ocean.
The best qualities this place has to offer is by far the location and the service that they provided. This place has great views overlooking the ocean and it’s in a very quiet and rustic area, which was great for us after spending a couple of nights in Funchal. The staff here are also extremely friendly and attentive, good breakfast options and good kitchen facilities that you are free to use. The rooms, while adding to the rustic charm, could do with a little updating, mainly the squeaky bed. The road to the hotel is incredibly steep as others have mentioned, although I was intimidated on my way down, I had no issues getting back up in a Seat Ibiza. And maybe it’s because we arrived in March and not quite season, but the pool had a fair bit algae in it. Nevertheless I enjoyed my stay here and believe it was good value for money
The accommodation is probably the best value for money on the island. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the breakfast is delicious and plentiful. The room has a wonderful view of the ocean. There is a common room where you can exchange a few words with other guests. I didn't use the pool and outdoor terrace, but it can be very cosy in summer. The size and facilities of the room are perfect. Next time I come to the island I will definitely stay here. The bed is a bit hard (I accidentally gave it a 7/10 rating on booking.com, which I would have preferred for other accommodation, this place is 10/10 overall).
As others have posted, driving to and from this hotel is not for the faint hearted. It is steep, but it is doable! A lovely hotel in a beautiful quiet location. We were well looked after with no complaints. Breakfast was excellent and the pool was great. The hot water takes a while to come through for a shower and it would have been nice to be able to open a window at night as the room got a bit stuffy. The walk along the levada at the front of the hotel is an easy one and I would recommend it.
Unbelievably cute Hotel! It’s a small hotel with a very friendly and welcoming and calm vibe. The breakfast is small but has everything you need, cereal, bread, cheese, cake, coffee, tee, fruits and you will be asked if you want an egg freshly made for you. The rooms are clean and very sweet! And the pool area and balcony of the hotel offer a great view! They offer some drinks and snacks for a small price in case of nightly cravings :) The lady that prepared our breakfast everyday was very nice and made us feel like we are home away from home. As well as the man that let us in after midnight because our plane arrived so late. You will need a car to get to this place, and after the first shock of the steep road leading to the hotel you will get used to it very quickly. The only criticism I would have is that the bed was making lots of noises🙈
We slept here for 2 weeks. Lovely quiet area, excellent breakfast in the morning and super service from the owner. In short, if we would go to madeira again I already know where we would stay !
For the type of accommodation was everything perfect, comfortable and spacious room with all necessary amenities , nice breakfast. Affordable prices in the "honest bar". Unfortunately the weather did not allow us but there is a nice swimming pool for the hotter days.

Nice views from up here. Worth the free hike. Park at the church and follow the path.
The worst place for me. Do not take your small rental car there. If it's a 4x4 it should be ok. Best way is to hike up there. But even when you hike there you will face a swarm of bumblebees. They are nested in the ground at the viewpoint. Had to run away from there. Maybe the experience would be better at winter time when they are not active. But i discourage you to go there because of my points
Google map said I can drive there, however the last 1 km was dirt road, passable with my rental Nissan Juke though, not for the faint hearted
Beautiful and tranquil place, there were no other tourists at all. Absolutely stunning view! The walking distance is not long but the road was pretty muddy and the red dirt got really stuck in my shoes.
Not special, not the best view,I would personally skip it.
Nice viewpoint, acceptable by foot from the village
Nice viewpoint, also for sunsets. Not crowded due to the short dirty hike to the lookout. But worth the way. Good views only to the direction of the Ponta de Pargo lighthouse.
Amazing place, we get there during our walk through levada Pedregal. There was only us, were peacefull spot.

As I read the Reviews, i thought it will really Hard Trail .. but its NOT .. take 40 min down - 1 hour 20 min up with several stops.. i would not recommended when it’s wet.. good par of shoes good weather and you are good to go … Swimming not recommended… the Mobile phone network is very weak down on beach .. Really worth it
Excellent trail that was easy to follow, if challenging and with limited shade. Depending on the exact route you take within in the town (or whether you head in to town at all) the route can be between 6 and 8 km, but will have at least 500m of elevation. The decent is best tackled on the South East zig-zag, as this is less steep than the path up to the cafe, resulting in a clockwise loop. There aren't any restrooms on route, nor water points, so be sure to take what you need and stop for a break before you start. The beach section is surprisingly challenging as it's large boulders, some of which are stable, other of which are not, so you'll need to pick your footing carefully. The climb is strenuous (and we were 3 long distance runners), so it's not suitable for young children (in my opinion), nor anyone who wouldn't consider themselves in shape.
(Translated by Google) Steep and steep path. Ideally to practice in the morning. No loop possible. Splendid views that will delight walkers. (Original) Sentier pentu et abrupt. Idéalement à pratiquer le matin. Pas de boucle possible. Vues splendides qui raviront les marcheurs.
(Translated by Google) Very demanding hiking tour starting in Ponta do Pargo. It goes down the steep path on the cliff to the coast. The narrow path goes serpentine-like on partly steep slopes. You have to be sure-footed, not afraid of heights and not afraid of heights. This is the first challenge. Arrived at the sea below, it went down over 500 meters, you have to walk along the coast for about 2 km on huge boulders to get to the other ascent. This is the 2nd challenge. Anyone who sprains their ankle here or even gets their foot caught in the stones has a huge problem. Swimming is difficult here, I wouldn't dare to go in anyway. If you have also mastered the coastal section, there is still the ascent. More than 500 meters in one piece, it's now climbing, pulling up and pinching your ass...cheeks together. The rise gives you the rest Please take plenty of water with you. Sun protection and really sensible hiking shoes are important This is not a hike and certainly not a walk! I warn against too careless an approach. This is not Hiking, this is more, very more :-) (Original) Sehr anspruchsvolle Wanderrunde beginnend im Ort Ponta do Pargo. This ist not Hiking, this ist more, very more :-)
Very challenging hike, we took the zig zag road marked from the miradouro. The landscape is amazing, make sure to have proper shoes as there are many rocks and steeper portions. No water supply on the way.

We went to this place Nov 2024 - it was a beautiful place with some really amazing views. We took the rent a car to go to this place and it took us about 40 min to reach this place. Scenery all around was heavenly - definitely worth a visit
Nice view on the cliff, but you can definitely find a much better views in nearby area. Positive is that you can drive directly to miradouro and there is more parking places.
Nice spots to look at the ocean and the mountains going directly into the water.
Awesome View Point! Beautiful with Restaurant, Toilet, great place to grab a drink/snack OR something for take-away.
Definitely worth the drive, the views are spectacular and the tea house right next to it is very nice even though the prices are a bit touristy but to be expected in this location.
Amazing view, and as a bonus, you have the tea house ("casa de chá O Fio"). "Casa de chá O Fio" is a restaurant where you can enjoy food,of course 😅, hot and cold drinks, amazing homemade cakes, an amazing view, and the most friendly people. Love it, and I will be back 😁
If you are looking for a quiet lovely place, surounded by greenfields and the ocean with breathtaking views and an incredible sunset, just go there, it's one of the best places on the island. The peacefulness that this place has it's on another level. We loved it.
Great place to take photos of the cliffs. There is a car park and a restaurant onsite. The restaurant, however, was shut during our visit on Saturday.
