Not many places open this time of the year. We managed to find 2: Sugar Reef and Bar Neptuno. Stopped for coffee at the latter which was very nice. Also found some open public toilets which is always a bonus.

Lovely spot to relax and unwind

I quiet marina with a few restaurants and a small shopping centre. Very pleasant to just sit and enjoy the view or a meal/tapas and a drink at one of the bars/restaurants.

Well worth the money .

First of all I wanna state that the tour is really nice and my negative review is not related to the tour itself. I am just referring to the second offer with the fishing from 9:30 - 14:00 . We were as a family and the little one likes fishing so we called to reserve and the message was ok we will reserve the tour depending on the participants which should be around 8 people. An adult 50 Euro for the complete time of fishing. Pretty understandable that such a tour depends on the participants. Well I called on Wednesday and did not received any answer the whole Thursday that there are not enough people who are going to take part. Well Friday we showed up on the 9:30 in the morning and no one one showed up whether a boat not somebody from the Tourguides. So I called the reservation number again and the lady on the phone told me that she was going to call me yesterday, but didn’t have my phone number ( I did call the day earlier via mobile with visible phone number ) to tell me that the motor of the second tour ship has been broken and needs to be fixed. Well how funny did we look that we have seen the boat running with customers and nothing to see regarding a broken motor. Well the bottom line it was obviously a lie. We were pissed and I think that is very unprofessional. I wouldn’t have had a problem if somebody would have called me a day earlier explaining to me “ sorry we aren’t enough people for the tour tomorrow. So we have to cancel that appointment.” That was very negative despite that very positive experience with the 1 hour tour. Once again that review is only referring to the fishing tour 9:30 - 14:00!!!

Great hour long river cruise. Wine snd gambas included. Recommend.

An absolutely thrilling experience was had by our family of four, including two teenagers. The boat bounced along the waves at speed with some amazing soundtracks playing in the background, which really complimented the whole experience! Our skipper Reuben was extremely knowledgeable about the area and stopped on several occasions to take photos of us and explain the surroundings. All in all it was a fun and unforgettable experience! Last summer we hired out e bikes via JetSkiDream at sunset and had an equally fun evening. Lovely people to deal with and would highly recommend them.

The online and phone service was very friendly. Upon arriving at the site, the team was very helpful, in English and in Spanish, they provided and helped to put on life jackets, we received a briefing on the use of jetskis. Jetskis are modern, quiet and easy to use. In our group of 4 riders, 1 had never ridden and ran very well. The tour was monitored by at least 3 or 4 support jetskis and the group took us through the canal of isla Canela, the Guadiana river and the sea in a one hour tour without any slipping. There were slow, contemplative stretches, there were fast, emotional stretches... no "man overboard"! It was a really good experience that our whole family would love to have again. Especially the SYMPATHY of the frontdesk staff and the water staff is needed to be mentioned: good job!

Jetski in superb conditions, also I tried ebike which was OK but jetski is a way :) Friendly staff (Lucia, Roberto Davie, Laura, Daniel, Rocio, Pepe, Elena, Cristian, Carlos, Marta - I have meet them all :), excellent rides, beautiful weather - all in all breathtaking experience :)

We chose the Sunset Cruise to finish our holiday as a way to finish off our holiday with some fun. My daughter booked the evening session for 4 of us, she said online booking was easy. From arriving at JetSkiDream right through to leaving we were well looked after with explanations in English and Spanish of the river, fishing fleet and wildlife we encountered. I cannot say anymore than 'Stunning, Brilliant, Beautiful and what a ride, going very fast over the water before running up the river to watch the sunset. Thankyou to the team. We went on the jet skis for half an hour. Amazing! We followed the instructor out to sea, and let rip... The instructor was great and we loved this first time experience of Jet skiing. Also felt it was good value for money. Well done all.

I spontaneously decided to take kiting lessons. Thanks to Elena I am now able to ride on my own. The staff is really passionate and professional. The spot could not be any better with nice waves during high tide and a beginner friendly, shallow lagoon at low tide. Thank you for this amazing experience. We will come back for sure

The place is fantastic. Beach and water are perfect for beginners. I took some surf lessons with Fernando. The best teacher I've ever had. Friendly, funny and absolutely patient. His English is perfect. The equipment was in good condition, the prices too :-) I really recommend this place and Fernando as a teacher.

I thought it was very easy because the golf course was flat, but there are some hazards and interesting courses. The green speed was so fast.

Played the Links Course first then the Old Course the day after - it was very windy the day I played the Links, lacks distance markers and a lot of 'hidden' trouble, wouldnt rush back. Old Course on the other hand was a delight to play, so much so playing it again. Well maintained, excellent greens and the staff in the shop were fantastic.

Somewhat a mixed bag at Isla Canela - staff all very accommodating and the rooms were well appointed, but the lack of food within miles of this hotel did make staying here a bit painful. Breakfast was a pretty meagre offering, and unless you didn’t mind not eating lunch, waiting until 7:30 for dinner or forking out for a taxi was your only option. Golf course was also variable - some holes in great shape, some showing pretty bad bald spots on greens and fairly chunked up tee boxes. A decent challenge with some fun holes, but definitely looking a bit rough around the edges, moreso on the back nine (see picture 3 to show a particularly strange second shot I ended up with).

A lovely club and the price for twilight golf very good €45 course is well laid out and was in good condition.

We played Isla Canela Old Course yesterday - the lady at reception was very personable & helpful, and the course is challenging & scenic but the 4 ball of locals 2 games in front of us were playing a competition and were extreamly slow (unhelpful and a bad reflection on the course), We called the clubhouse to complain & left a message. They were asked twice by the ranger to speed up their game. The ranger came to us the second time & apologised. We only just made it back safely to the 18th before darkness nade it dangerous. If you are playing golf as a visitor make sure you're not playing behind this rude 4 ball of regular locals!

Really good parkland course. Nice layout with some tight tee shots if you play left to right. Greens were slick and running true. Couple of water holes to add to the challenge. Will return to play it again. Clubhouse does what you would expect. Well done. Good time had by all.

Every May we come to Isla Canela for some guaranteed sun and the perfect start to summer. We’ve stopped here two years running for some of the best cocktails that can be found along the playa. Esos cócteles eran perfectos. Gerardo is a true maestro, and his Pina Colada is the best Sara has ever tasted.

Great beachclub (chirinquito), great ambiance with club music. Very good price for nice food. I ate my fingers with the paella. Also the sangria superb. Kids had the hamburger with fries. Tastefull but served very basic. They serve also tastefull smoothies. And again the ambiance is so nice, it is a little paradise on a very great beach.

Really great instructors - I happened to walk by on the beach and thought I would get some more info as I was worried about whether lessons could be provided in English. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating, they took my details and gave me a text every morning to say whether the weather would be good enough for classes. The lessons themselves were very comprehensive and I could take things at my own pace and practice anything that I was unsteady on. Safety was always a focus that made me feel very reassured and confident to give something a go. The beach itself is a great spot as the waters are relatively shallow and so great for beginners to practice and recover as you aren't constantly swimming to get back to your board which saves a lot of time for more practicing. I first had lessons years ago (elsewhere) and was never able to actually get onto the board, Poiniente Kite were so much better not just explaining what to do by *why* so it was a really special moment when I managed to pull myself up and get going with the kit. Great team, great community, great beach. Cannot recommend these guys enough. Absolute highlight of my holiday and big thank you to Gonzalo, Pablo, Mano and the rest of the team at Poiniente Kite!
