Visted these beautiful gardens on Monday afternoon at 2pm. Paid £10 per adult, which is a reasonable price for the size of the gardens & grounds. Entrance is free if you're a national trust member. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted with lovely wisteria & stunning walled gardens. This was my favourite part. We ate our picnic before entering, they have benches right by the carpark. They also have clean toilet facilities before entering the grounds. Spent a couple of hours walking around, taking our time & got some lovely pictures & memories to treasure.
Fantastic and quirky garden. It’s such a lovely place to have a walk. Plenty of green space with some unique things to see. Like the replicas of the terracotta warriors from China. There’s also a house you can visit. It’s really beautiful inside and out. Definitely a hidden gem in Oxfordshire!
One of the best examples of a well preserved and extremely well managed historical place of residence that I’ve visited. The staff are amazingly helpful and the information on the artefacts and treasures that we see on display is first class. Each room has its own character and the collection is of great interest.
Day out to Buscot Park, beautiful house and gorgeous gardens, something to look at around every corner, great views a lovely place to walk and relax. Nice tea room, selling hot and cold drinks (much needed) icecreams, and a good selection of cakes and scones. Toilets were clean.
Buscot Park (Faringdon, Oxfordshire) is a real find. The family still live in the house, but you can tour rooms packed with incredible artwork and the most amazing objects. The grounds are stunning, with plenty of spots to relax and take in the views. There’s a great café for a pit stop and a small shop—it doesn’t sell much, but you can pour your own ice cream, which is a fun touch! Loads of parking and free entry for National Trust members. Perfect for anyone who loves art, history, gardens, and a good coffee.
A great house and grounds, The Faringdon Collection is a lovely family owned collection with some great pieces. The water features are a nice walk out and thankfully covered in shade. The cafe was very busy for afternoon teas.
Buscot Park is the family home of Lord Faringdon, who looks after the property on behalf of the National Trust, as well as the family collection of pictures, furniture, ceramics and objets d’art, known as the Faringdon Collection, which is displayed in the house. Built between 1780 and 1783 for a local landowner, Edward Loveden Townsend, the estate was purchased in 1889 by Lord Faringdon’s great-grandfather, Alexander Henderson, a financier of exceptional skill and ability, who in 1916 was created the 1st Lord Faringdon. The Faringdon Collection, which can be viewed at Buscot Park in Oxfordshire and our London property, is the result of a century of collecting works of art by the Lords Faringdon. I spent my time walking through the incredibly beautiful gardens and down to the lake. I saved the Faringdon Art collection inside the house for another day.
Despite only open at 140p hours most days this is a lovely property to visit. Especially enjoyed the walks around the various parts of the gardens

I really love this little farm !!! It’s not overpriced like the usual ones and the animals and feeding experience really does feel magical love the playing area too where the kids have so much to do from playing with mini tractors to all the indoor games and fun available ( feel free to use the pics)
Loved our visit here today! I really wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was, hugely exceeded our expectations. The facilities are very well thought out and catered for families and little ones throughout. We spent a whole day there, very relaxed and fun and the animals were happy and well cared for. It would have been good to have hand sanitiser and spray in the dining room for high chairs especially and maybe some tweaks to the menu. We very much enjoyed today, thank you to the team who hosted us.
We bought three chickens from Farmers Gow's today. The owner Anne was very helpful and prompt in communication. Elsie at the front desk was super friendly, polite and professional. She showed us the farm and various facilities in detail. Another staff member showing animals was extremely polite and replied to our questions comprehensively. Suggestion: Please do add a Multi-buy discount if number of chickens are bought.😁 Highly recommend it to others and will visit again with friends.
We had a fantastic time during our visit today—it far surpassed what we were expecting. The site was clearly designed with families in mind, offering thoughtful facilities that made the day easy and enjoyable for those with young children. We stayed for the entire day, and it was both relaxing and entertaining. The animals appeared healthy and well looked after, which really added to the experience. One small improvement could be the addition of hand sanitiser and spray for high chairs in the dining area, along with a few updates to the menu. Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable day out. Many thanks to the staff for creating such a welcoming and family-friendly environment.
My friend and I visited the farm and had also oooked a farmer experience session on Saturday It was really good fun, got really stuck in with farming jobs and Elizabeth our guide was a lovely girl with great knowledge on the animals. Shop staff were also so nice! Lots of opportunities to pet and feed animals. Loved it!
My teenage daughter is interested in farming and was given a 'Be a farmer workshop' for her birthday. We started with the public 'meet the animals workshop', led by Emily. It was in a barn with two calves, five sheep with lambs, five goat kids, four pigs and some chicks. It was very interactive and we got to hold chicks, bottle feed the goats and hand-feed the sheep, lambs and calves. The pigs ate at our feet and we could touch them. We also collected eggs from the hen house. Then we spent two hours with Dale on the 'Be a farmer workshop' and it was exactly as described: feeding, watering, mucking out and moving the animals that we had already met, plus some more goats and chickens in the fields. I'm glad that we did both of the workshops as the experiences were very different. We didn't use the play equipment or the picnic area, though the toilet facilities were good and clean. Our afternoon completely lived up to expectations but be aware that this is not a farm 'park': it's quite small and doesn't take long to go around. I think you'd massively miss out if you didn't attend the 'meet the animals' session as that was so interactive. Thank you to Dale and Emily for a really good afternoon.
Great place to bring children. We bought our 2 year old and she enjoyed petting chicks, and seeing all the baby animals (lambs, kids, pigs). Expect to spend about 90mins-2hrs here, and you'll likely eat in the cafe as just about everyone we saw here did. The combined cost of entry and our lunch for 2 adults + toddler was £40. There are feeding/petting sessions at 11am and 2pm - it seems a good idea to arrive about half an hour before a session to have a look around, then join a session.
Not really the value for money this place used to be. Doesn’t seem like the owner actually follows up on the reviews. I like others was charged without being told the price. Then when I checked my emails I saw I’d been charged £48 for a family ticket when I had a baby and a toddler. When asked for a refund the staff pushed me to take items instead of a refund to avoid ‘repercussions’ from the owner. Clearly something not right here. The petting was lovely but not really worth the money it used to be given the rest of the farm and playgrounds are extremely neglected.

Lovely place to come for a walk. There is plenty for the kids to do, such as finding the animals identified on the toadstools. Lovely place to have a picnic too. The Folly was open when we came and it is really interesting to go in. Recommend for a family afternoon!!!
We had such a wonderful time visiting the folly. The views are fabulous & it is an easy walk up from the free two hour on road parking spots at the bottom of the hill. We enjoyed spotting the sculptures & reading the history boards. The tower is open a couple of times a month so worth checking this out. Plus there are two free woodland story-time events a month so that is perfect if you have little ones. The site is dog friendly & there are plenty of benches to soak up the view. We enjoyed it coupled with a visit to Uffington White Horse which is around 20mins away. Highly recommend for a free outing on a sunny day.
Great fun and the volunteers are excellent. Amazing views from the top and lots of interesting information about the tower provided too. Over 100 steps to the top and the last bit is more of a loft ladder but worth it!
A nice little gem in farringdon. We took the shortish uphill path up through the woodland. Surprised to find a working piano in the woods sheltered within a wooden den. Wooden sculptures and a carved throne were scattered here and there and benches to sit on. It was beautiful on a beautiful sunny day . And it's free!
Great for walking dogs and getting scenic views. No on-site parking or cafe though.
Nice viewing point within walking distance of the town centre. The walk is a gradual slope to the top. Interesting history and some lovely art in the wooded area on top of the hill.
Great place for a walk with amazing views
What a great little adventure this was. A lovely enchanted wood surrounding this "Useless" Tower (not my words) which is filled with wood carvings of creatures. See my photos for many of the wood and metal carvings and see how many you can find. Great place for Pokemon Go players too. Good signal on your phone and amazing 360° views.

17 of us stopped off here to break the journey up from Newport to Peterborough last night. Very accommodating and welcoming towards us, we had a few Under 18s in the group which wasn’t a problem either. Proper traditional pub, very smart and well kept and some really good drink choices. Nice atmosphere inside the pub and lots of friendly locals. Would be delighted if this was my local and will definitely return if passing in the future 🙂
I arrived intending only to have a pint. An initial look at the CMAT App. it looked as if the place was on the Cask Marque Ale Trail and on arriving this weekday, just as it opened, my hostess also assured me they were. But they weren't! The little black pump on the App had disappeared and there was no certificate to scan. Even so, none of the Real Ale pumps had been pulled through, so I declined to drink overnight ale that had festered in the pipes. The non alcoholic Adnams Ghost Ship 0%abv was quite decent, though I can recommend that anyway.
Brilliant atmosphere, Frank and Sue are lovely, and the regular patrons are friendly. Good selection of beverages with a constantly rotating ale selection and occasionally an ale brewed on site. It's just a pub so there is no food, but ordering takeaway to the pub is fine as long as you let them know. There's also a decent selection of bar snacks and some excellent locally made pork scratchings. Definitely pop in if you're passing through town or living here.
Great local pub. Good atmosphere especially when events are on. Improved massively in the last few years with new owners.
Our favorite pub in town. It's quaint and cosy. The staff is great. We usually go on Wednesday nights for quiz night which is a lot of fun
2025: Now under new ownership. Interim owners removed a lot that made the pub great (spread of real ale and interesting, non-large brewery offerings) but the new owners have returned it to its roots. Even better it seems like they have something going on every night, with interesting groups of hobbyists of all sorts having gatherings that add a bit of interest to your usual venture! Atmosphere remains great (fab addition of the touch table lamps downstairs) and it is back to being one of, if not the best 'local' style pub in Faringdon. 2019: Probably the best offering of ale, cider and other thirst quencher in Faringdon. Does a great job focusing on the provision of interesting drink and in that respect out does any other Faringdon establishment. Great decor whilst retaining the English pub vibe. Friendly bar staff. Probably a little pricier for a drink in here compared to other pubs in Faringdon, but that's mostly because I'm tempted by the rarer offerings located on their taps/pumps! Dog and child friendly if they are kept under control.
No food available but you can bring in a takeaway or have one delivered there
Really friendly welcoming and knowledgeable staff, great ales on and fab Gin selection ... dog friendly and a log burner !! Awesome pub

My daughter moved here a year ago because we weren’t happy with the leadership attitude at a previous place. I can not recommend Huntersfield enough! Sam is patient and has a perfect balance of friendliness and discipline in her teaching. She gets the best out of them while making them enjoy every part of the lesson. She also incorporates all different riding techniques into a lesson rather than having a separate jump, dressage or pole lesson she covers everything. No lesson is the same. Sam and Nico make this place a joy to be part of. The horses and ponies are fantastic and Sam takes the time to allocate the right pony to the rider. The facilities are a joy to be in with lots of space, jumps, flood lights for winter months and even a heater to keep parents warm when they ride in the indoor arena. We travel a decent distance to attend from where we live but it’s well worth the extra miles
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I highly recommend Huntersfield Equestrian Centre My daughter has been taking lessons here for over a year and her confidence has grown tremendously. The instructors are fantastic and truly care about their students. The indoor training school is a wonderful feature, allowing her to practice comfortably regardless of the weather. It's a perfect place for young riders to learn and thrive. We're so grateful for the positive experiences she's had here! Thanks to everyone at Huntersfield.
My daughter has just had her 8th birthday here and we had an absolutely wonderful time. Sam and Nico are both such lovely people and made the whole experience so enjoyable for the riders and us parents. I would definitely recommend them if you're thinking of booking a party or want a lesson; we will certainly be going back. Thank you to both of you and also to your wonderful helpers for making her birthday such a special occasion. X
Both my daughter and wife are learning to ride here. From our first day the experience was amazing, Sam and Nico who were so welcoming, Seth whose pride in his coffee is immense through to the helpers in the stables who are so polite, respectful and included my daughter with their shared love of horses from the moment she walked in. A lovely place with wonderful people
My son has been riding and having lessons at Huntersfield EC for well over a year. It's a fantastic school and stables run by Sam and Nico van den Berg. There is a really great atmosphere with a strong community of staff, helpers and riders. Teaching is very professional. Sam creates an encouraging and positive environment for all ages and abilities. The centre is Pony Club registered and Sam, Nico and the team run regular events and rallies which are always very well attended. They encourage active learning and participation in all aspects of stable and horse life. I continue to be delighted at the clear enjoyment my son gets from spending time at HEC. All in all it's a really fantastic place run by really lovely people. If you are considering riding lessons for yourself or your children, I cannot recommend it enough.
Great place for horse riding. Nico and Sam are great with kids and great in general 😀
Easily the best riding school that I have ever had lessons at. Sam is patient, understanding, and knows both her pupils and horses very well. Lessons are tailored to support each group and individual with varied lesson content each week.
Excellent training for riding the correct way In safety under constant supervision. Learn how to care for, tack up and ride with confidence.
