My sister and I thought this was a great experience! It was pricey, but it included lunch, transport, a tour of the icebreaker, and a dip in the frozen waters while wearing a survival suit. We chose an afternoon tour and got very lucky with a beautiful sunset. Boris was our tour guide and he was very nice and knowledgeable.
An extraordinary experience with ice floating, walking on ice and a very friendly staff, we had an interesting tour around the vessel and a diploma at the end. Unforgettable moments!
A once in a lifetime experience aboard the Sampo Icebreaker in Finland! The views were incredible! Watching the massive ship churn through thick ice was mesmerizing! Our plan was a tour of the ship, lunch, and then the famous polar plunge. The ship tour was fascinating. It was so neat to see all the rooms and learn about the ship’s operations up close. Lunch was a surprising delight! They offered a delicious buffet with plenty of options. Normally, I dread buffets, so it was a great surprise to enjoy. The Icebreaker bar was a fun stop. We were given a complimentary shot served in a glass made out of ice which made for memorable toast! Then came the polar plunge! They suit you up in these giant survival suits that basically turn you into a human buoy. Watching everyone floating around in the icy water was hilarious and unforgettable! If you don't want to suit up, you can also walk on the frozen glacier, which was equally amazing. My visit was a perfect mix of adventure, comedy, and gorgeous scenery I will never forget!
The experience on the SAMPA Icebreaker was absolutely incredible! From the moment we boarded, we were amazed by the breathtaking views and the unique energy of the Arctic landscapes. Sailing through the vast ice fields and feeling like we were in a frozen wonderland was extraordinary, like a dream come true. The part where we went out onto the ice and into the water with the special NASA-designed suits was unforgettable—a sense of safety combined with an unparalleled adventure. A big thank you to the professional and friendly crew who took care of every detail and made this experience one of the most memorable ones for us. Highly recommended for anyone looking to feel the Arctic magic up close!
Incredible trip! Recommend to book early. It was such a once a lifetime kinda thing to do. Seeing the Sampo break through the ice with the breathtaking view was so therapeutic. The buffet lunch was tasty. Walking on the frozen sea was interesting. And last but not least the Swimming was fun!
It's an experience. Thought we could like do swimming with the suit but too bad, NO, you can only lie down, not even like on the standing position. That's why I don't feel very comfortable. Lunch served was so-so to me. Maybe I'm not used to it. Staffs are all friendly and nice.
The experience of floating was not as it appears in videos. They just make a very small congested space to float. and allow for a minute may be. Not really like too much. Not too much worth. Cruise was okay, food was okay and staff was cooperative.
An amazing experience!! You will see the frozen lake cracks, float in the ice water, and take some amazing pictures. The latte in the coffee stand is great !!

Really unique and nice snow and ice castle experience to visit. This is also nice place for adults to visit. Very good value for money. No waiting lines or rush on a week day in February. With the same ticket you can visit both the outdoor winter snow castle and the year around open indoor ice castle 365 experience. Also very nice restaurant and cafeteria. Recommended place to visit if you happen to be near city of Kemi.
I visited The SnowCastle of Kemi in Finland toward the end of the season, and it was an awesome experience! Some of the sculptures had started to melt sadly (a few missing arms and smaller details), but it didn’t take away from how incredible the whole setup was! They had an awesome ice slide that both the kids and adults were overjoyed with sliding down! It was definitely a highlight to see all the happy faces! The merchandise shop was impressive too, with lots of great souvenirs including clothing and home items. A great variety! They also have a cafe offering drinks and snacks. I almost missed the actual SnowCastle! It’s a short walk across the parking lot from the main building (easy to overlook if not paying attention because it looks like a warehouse). The driveway was very slippery with black ice when we visited, and there were several buses coming in and out. I made sure to tread extra slow. Thankfully, I wore some really good snow boots! Overall, it was a really cool experience! Unique, fun, and worth the visit!
So disappointed with our visit, the snow castle was just a pile of snow you could enter… my four year old daughter liked the slides but the slides in a normal park is for free. The ice part is ok but small, if you gonna mark yourself as a snow castle, go big or just stop. Look at my pictures and you are really not missing anything.
The SnowCastle of Kemi can be part of your winter wonderland experience. The intricate ice sculptures were fascinating to see, each one a masterpiece of artistry and craftsmanship. The highlight was definitely the giant ice slide, which was incredibly fun and added a playful touch to the enchanting atmosphere. A truly unique and memorable experience.
SnowCastle is a giant ice room.Inside you find sculpters on all kind of sfuff made of ice. Worth to visit absolutely . On the other side of building there is a restaurant , the Best food in the whole town !
Great food, live music, and in the winter it looks like an awesome place to see the northern lights. People of Kemi are really welcoming and the restaurant here has the best views of the water and landscape. Food was fresh and the service was top tier. Loved the once in a lifetime look into the hand sculpted ice room. Loved my time here. Will come back again.
The building includes a restaurant, a café, bathrooms, and souvenir shops, in addition to a castle snow 365 experienc. The experience is beautiful; everything there is made of snow, and you can try the ice slide. However, I find the price exaggerated as the ticket is 18 euros, usually covering the snow experience and snow garden. Despite the snow garden being closed, and we only saw the small snow castle, they charged the full ticket price. I believe there should be a discount when the service or the offer is not complete. Besides that, the staff is courteous and friendly.
Nice employees, but there is no snow or ice castle for 5 years here. There is an ice sculpture, jewlleries, etc exposition.

One of the most stunning churches that I have seen in Finland. I absolutely love the majestic outside and the playful pink color.
Nice and old gothic style church worth visiting. There was a nice lady who took her time to explain everything. 👍☺️
Wonderfull church in Kemi. It's really nice to see some pink building.
Beautiful church in the heart of Kemi. Great photo op in this beautiful Finnish city.
Beautiful church in Kemi. A must see
It was alright, nice looking venue. Priest was nice too, maybe could use little more leniency. The cost of a little wine and bread is almost noting so, maybe could let the Muslim guy participate but what do it know. Still 5⭐
Really nice church among snow ❄️
We were very disappointed the church was closed. Liked the look of the exterior and thought the graves for the soldiers was very respectful and the gardens very well maintained.

We highly recommend the snow mobile safari and reindeer farm visit! It was a great package filled with action and insights into traditional farming life. This is no typical touristic trip, this tour felt 100% authentic! To start off the morning, we crossed the frozen sea on snow mobiles until reaching huts in the nearby forest. After returning we got to ride a reindeer sleigh and ask all kinds of questions about the life as reindeer farmers while enjoying typical tea and pastries. Very personal and very good vibes.
Very nice evening snowmobile excursion. Professional outfit!
The best thing we did in Kemi, absolute banger of an experience! We went for reindeer farm and northern light hunt. The farm was great, reindeer were cute, everything was as cool as I expected it to be and more. I liked the little nuggets of knowledge that the owner shared with us, so not only did we have a good time, we learned something too! When it came to searching for aurora, I was not expecting anything and I knew the chance of seeing it was slim, it is a natural phenomenon after all. Still, the trip was really cool and I do not regret going! In the leaflet it was written that it would be a car ride, but all of the sudden we were told to wear bank robber's getup and helmets? We were asked to sit in the little sledge linked to the snowmobile and before we knew it we were on ice, in the middle of water??? The views were great and I was already excited. The rest was much more chill, we were brought to the little kota in the middle of the forest, offered hot juice and snacks and simply talked. I also liked how accommodating the staff are, I wrote them about vegetarian options and they offered vege sausages to grill over the fire. They also brought us back to our hotel which was not on the pick up list. Thank you! I would absolutely love to come back and try more safaris, I think the one with huskies might be cool! Absolutely recommend, 10/10 experience.
PERFECT! 💯 Rasmus and Jesse were super nice. We had our transfer in/out, changed hotels and went for a northern lights hunt with them, and everything was perfect (well, we did not get to actually see the lights, but the experience made it all worth it all the same).
Really great snowmobile safari on the ice and through the forrest. The equipment was top quality and the guide was great.
(Translated by Google) We can highly recommend the snowmobile or snowmobile tour. We were lucky and were able to book the tour by phone at short notice on a weekend in mid-February. There is one morning and one afternoon tour available. We really enjoyed driving in the morning sun between 10 and 11 am. We would be picked up from the hotel at 9:40 a.m. by our guide Rasmus. We stopped at Sea Lapland Safaris to get dressed (snowsuits, boots, balaclava, helmet and gloves were provided.) The snowmobiles were already in position and after a short briefing the great ride began. The scenery was fantastic and you could stop at any time to take photos. For the price stated on the website, you can share a mobile phone, but everyone can have their own device for an additional charge. It should be noted that it can be very strenuous and somewhat uneasy for the passenger to hold on, as the rear feels noticeably wobbly. Rasmus was a great guide. We were able to communicate with him in English and he was also able to give a lot of information about the area and other things to do.
(Translated by Google) Fraud, and not pleasant two instructors who ruined the rest for their incompetent work! First, Marianne wanted to deceive us with the price for snowmobiles, we agreed on one price, she wanted to take 20€ more from each of us (and we had a group of more than 40 people), it took a very long time to change clothes, because the instructor went out to drink tea instead to fulfill their duties The briefing was not completed completely, our friend forgot her wallet with documents and money, they called the next day, they said they found it, but they would not give it back and demanded money For the children, they gave a pair of helmets without glass and they all froze in -34 degrees, why did they take such money??? I do not recommend this company, the Finns showed themselves in a very bad way!
(Translated by Google) Thank you very much for the wonderful few days you made for us! Everyone was very nice and helpful, I can only recommend them!!! Words cannot describe the wonderful experiences we had. 1. We visited a Husky farm, where the hosts were very kind. We drove dog sleds, petted the dogs and learned a lot about them and how they live there. Of course, it was possible to take photos and video as long as the rules were followed. They offered me tea, coffee and small cakes. 2. We were on an aurora hunt. We went out to an island on the frozen sea with a sled attached to a snowmobile, where we first lit a fire in the kota, and then we were treated to hot tea and food, which we grilled there. We had a great conversation, we learned a lot about the local people, their life and culture. After the pleasant stay there, we set off on our way back, unfortunately we didn't manage to see the aurora, but our guide made sure that there was a program on the way back as well. We stopped on the frozen sea and drilled on it. It was interesting to see how the anglers do it. 3. We took a 1-hour snowmobile tour on the frozen sea. Our guide was very helpful, he made sure we were going at a good pace (according to him, we drove our mobile phones well and made surprisingly good progress). We stopped on an island and he took photos of us in the sea. When help was needed due to fogging of the helmet or for some other reason, he was there immediately. After we returned, we put down our helmets and went on to the reindeer farm, where they were already waiting for us. Tarmo, the reindeer, was ready to go sledding with us, and we fed and petted him out of gratitude. The others also envied him, they too received caresses and some food. We took a lot of photos and videos. The host entertained us with hot food and drinks, while we learned a lot about reindeer. We had a great time here and we have a lot to thank the Sea Lapland Safari team for! Unfortunately, it is not possible to describe and convey everything here, but I recommend them to everyone if they are planning a "holiday" here. If we ever come back, I will definitely go on tours with them again! Fotózni is lehetett természetesen es videózni a szabályok betartása mellett. Megkínáltak teával, kávéval és hozzá aprósüteménnyel. 2. 3.
