Durdle Door is a rock formation in the form of an arch, located in Dorset, England.🌟 The place is very interesting, visited by thousands of tourists. 🚶‍♂️👣 The entire area, called the Jurassic coast, is privately owned, but with public access.👐 The rock arch is 61m high.😯🙆‍♂️ This is one of my favorite places with the most impressive landscape in England.👌👌
One of the best view to enjoy... Very mesmerising view it gives and worth to travel for. Never miss the place. Should really once in your life time. Parking is available at the top.. And need to walk down a bit to get to the spot and steep on the way
What an absolutely stunning place! The view of the iconic stone arch and the turquoise water is truly breathtaking — pictures don’t do it justice. The walk down to the beach is a bit steep, but totally worth it once you reach the shore. It’s a great spot for relaxing, taking photos, or simply enjoying the beauty of nature. I’d recommend wearing comfortable shoes and bringing some snacks or a picnic — the atmosphere is so peaceful you’ll want to stay for hours. If you’re lucky with the weather, you’ll catch an amazing sunrise or sunset. Overall, it’s a must-visit place in the UK — calm, scenic, and unforgettable.
An absolutely stunning piece of natural beauty. The walk down the cliff path provides breathtaking views before you even reach the iconic arch. The beach is lovely, and taking a dip in the clear (and bracingly cold!) turquoise water is an unforgettable experience. Pro Tip: Get here at sunrise! We beat the crowds and had the place almost to ourselves. It was absolutely magical and serene. The experience would be completely different in the middle of a busy day. Highly, highly recommend an early start!
What a spectacular! Visited in October, not quite sunny but still perfect to enjoy myself sitting on the shores and looking over such a beautiful natural landscape right in front of me. So thankful to experience and see Durdle Door with 👀.
This year I visited Durdle Door for the first time. The last week of August I went there, and I really loved the place. The scenic beauty is absolutely stunning and truly mesmerizing. It was a bit too crowded because of the holidays, but overall it’s a beautiful spot worth visiting. 🌊✨
Durdle Door is a natural limestone arch that juts out into the sea just west of Lulworth Cove on the Jurassic Coast in Dorset, England. Formed from Portland limestone. bournemouth to durdle door distance approx 23 miles by road. Late spring to early autumn is to visit the place. Warm weather to swim, picnic and evening walk. Try visiting May to September . In winter this site is open.
Amazing views and a truly natural marvel. Well worth a visit. There ia quite a steep, chalky loose gravel path, not very accessible for people with mobility restrictions.

Took a kayak trip to Durdle Door from Lulworth Cove we had a great time. The equipment provided was very good, it was well organised and Tim the leader was excellent. We went out in double sit on top Kayaks which were pretty stable so should be ok for most people and we did a bit of rock hopping along the way. A great way to see the Jurassic coast from a completely different angle.
Great place for a day off. The views are spectacular and the beach is very clean and beautiful. The prices for food and drinks are very good. Totally recommended
Brilliant visit... awesome paddle in bathtub warm water and swam out under Durdle Door which was really special!
Fantastic experience, the staff and the guides were amazing! Super friendly and knowledgeable. The paddle was great, it was not calm so there were some solid waves, which we definitely appreciated given that we are experienced paddlers. It was also very nice to learn about the area and the terrain. On that note, the setting was nothing short of spectacular. Overall I would definitely reconend checking these guys out.
We had a light traffic jam on the way and the instructor patiently waited for us. He was very friendly, humorous and encouraging. There were a few opportunities to jump from the cliff at different heights. The only downside is that the shower wasn't available at the end of the tour which was quite inconvenient. Still recommend it though!
We were a group of 4 signed up for coasteering and it was great fun! Nige our instructor was very friendly, approachable and kept the whole adventure fun and light hearted. On our exploration, we saw a couple of caves, swam a decent bit and did several jumps. It was all enjoyable, greatly recommended!
I did the kayak trip along the coast. It was an awesome trip. My guide was Tim, who sat in the same boat like me (we were a group of 10 people, in 5 kayaks). Stunning scenery along the coast, we went to Durdle Door and through the archway. Tim was an awesome guide, very knowledgeable and thought me a lot of technique to improve my amateur paddling skills. 5*
A group of mad friends and I had an awesome time coasteering with Jurassic Coast Activities last Saturday morning lead by Andy and Chris who were very professional with regard to instructions and safety but at the same time ensuring that our whole group had a great time. It was quite windy so there as a lot of swell but that didn't put us off, the rougher the better for us. The event was quite physically challenging for that reason and we all got out knowing we'd worked hard but the banter was brilliant. Everyone really enjoyed it. Lulworth Cove is a beautiful spot, after the even we were able to go and eat fresh crab and other local delicacies at a cafe in the cove. Highly recommend the event and this organisation. Well done guys!!

Great place explore and enjoy the view, be mindful of fallen rocks though. The 97 steps ain’t so bad as it sounds.
Out of this world experience- feels like walking on the surface of the moon! Beautiful fossilised rocks and algae pools. Well worth a visit. 97 steps down to get there through the firing range.
My husband and I have lived in the area for over 12 years and have never known about or seen this place, I just came across it online and said we should check it out, I’m so glad we did, it’s a fascinating place! A short walk from Lulworth Cove, it’s worth the excursion, it’s very unique and great to be walking around fossilised remains of trees and algae from millions of years ago.
Small but interesting area just a short walk from Lulworth Cove, but not accessible by any method other than walking to it. We accessed it by climbing a narrow pathway from Lulworth Cove, and then walked down the uneven steps to the Fossil Forest, to enter you have to walk through a gated section, which apparently is a firing range. Although small it's very unique seeing all the fossilised remains right on the cliffs edge, and it feels like you are properly exploring.
It's a lovely place to go and enjoy with family water is clear and it has some nice walkes. However there is way too many people there and therefore feels overcrowded especially in the cove
Calling this place a Fossil Forest is entirely misleading as all of the fossilised trees are long gone. There are a couple of pieces from elsewhere to show you what you're missing but that's rather besides the point. Still it is a beautiful location although everywhere here is highly attractive so I wouldn't make the fairly steep trek just for that. What you can see are the fossilised remains of algae which are interesting enough if you're into stromatolites.
Amazing history of the place, decent access as there are stairs and a hand rail. Looks nice but can't be truly amazed if you have no geology knowledge. Still clearly worth a visit.
Being in this place, standing amongst structures from millions of years ago is humbling. Loved it. And not far back to the beach, just ensure you know the tide times if you want to take the short route back.

Very lovely and helpfull staff. They provided the information we needed. The place is clean and tidy. We could refill our waterbottles and buy beautiful souvenirs in the shops. There is a lot of information related to fossils over there, very interesting!
Nice walk from the visitor centre to get to Durdle Door. Only quickly went into the Centre, but it has a nice little history about the place, and the fossils ;) Also ideal to have a break after the wall is the cafe next door and a few shops for souvenir shopping.
As a significant regional tourist destination I was very disappointed to see how little thought had been given to people with disabilities. Blue Badge parking was challenging give the location of 'bays' and the very unforgiving road surface for wheelchair users. Everywhere at the visitor centre was a majority of step access. Fine for the able-bodied, but very unfriendly for wheelchair users. There is a countryside mobility scooter hire scheme on site. But access to the booking desk is only via the side door of the gift shop and then through the cafe. Not easy to navigate with lots of visitors and shop displays strategically placed to make wheelchair access difficult. So much more could have been done to aid accessibility for all when the centre was built. 'Shocked' is the single word I would use to sum up wheelchair access to the disabled parking arrangements and access to the visitor centre.
Lovely views and a pleasant way to spend a day or afternoon. Gets very busy but plenty of parking and places to eat. I was here in a work capacity as a coach driver, with plenty of parking spaces, but £45 for a couple of hours! I can see tour companies crossing this place off the itinerary.
The visitor centre had toilets connected to it, its right near the car park.
Very nice place to visit, good few shops, cafe etc and peaceful few hours. Bit of a shock with parking charges if you stay more than 1 hour. Its over £12 which is a joke
Enjoyed our visit to Lulworth and Durdle door. Beautiful coastline. Parking was easy. It's expensive but one charge even if you move between carparks. We made the most of our 4 hours (£12.40) and visited both Lulworth cove and Durdle door. You would need to be fit to walk between the two. Visitor centre was small but nice with a fossil exhibition, shop and toilets. Would recommend despite the expensive parking charge. If you are lucky you may find a free parking space on the street just outside the main Lulworth Cove carpark.
Loved it! What more could you ask for? A free, fairly interactive visitor centre that educates you on the geology and history of the Purbeck coast! My son chilled out and played with some sand looking for fossils whilst I got to read up on the facts and look at the free exhibits. What’s more - the centre seemed to transition into a coffee shop and then soft store. What Joy!

I had the most amazing experience coasteering with my family. Our instructor Steve was really fantastic and so relaxed! Nothing was too much trouble for him. He was also very encouraging when we were jumping and I even manged to jump from a lot higher cliff then I thought I ever would! My husband said this was the best coasteering experience he has ever tried and he did try few! This was my first one and will treasure the memory forever. Thank you Steve & Lulworth Outdoors
The activity itself was a ton of fun and the guide was great! But the organization was terrible! It's impossible to make it down there in time by public transport and the owners were absolutely unhelpful. Since we were only two people for the activity, I asked whether they could pick us up from the 10-min drive train station Wool or postpone the activity by 40min so that we can catch the first bus, but they wouldn't help at all. Also, it took them an entire day to respond. And without any notice, they were 15min late, letting us in the unknown whether or not they would come at all. All in all, the hustle and anxiety for this trip wasn't worth the cost and experience. Do it somewhere else.
Just completed a coasteering session this morning with Lulworth Outdoors, our guide Steve was fantastic, he made us feel very comfortable in what we were doing and his knowledge of the coastal geology was a great way to learn about the Jurassic coast. I would highly recommend. Thanks from the Boyle family!
Just come back from a morning coasteering session, we had a fantastic time. Our instructors (Steve and Liz) were both informative, friendly and great fun We as a family thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we would highly recommend.

Small enclosed cove surrounded by spectacular rocky cliffs, showcasing thousands of years of geological activity in one place. The viewpoint on the clifftop gives a good perspective, but to fully appreciate the rocks it's a moderately challenging scramble down the bank. The rock formations on display here are some of the UK's finest, with incredible folded layers of rock, archways and blowholes in the cliff. It's a must see if you're walking the coast path between Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. There are comprehensive visitor facilities at Lulworth Cove, including a café, gift shop and toilets. Plenty of parking is available at a minimum £10 charge for 4 hours. It may seem steep but there's plenty to fill that time between here and Durdle Door.
Close to the Lulworth Cove and next to Durdle Door - which makes it a great place to stop by and see the views. It's super close to the village with small shops and cafes, which also makes it a great and easy place to visit.
📍🇬🇧 Such a beautiful place! 😍 If you're visiting Dorset, you definitely have to visit this spot- you'll fall in love with it!📍🇬🇧
This place is lovely as well. I would suggest visiting it before Durdle Door. It’s located on the left side/behind the car park. Bit risky⚠️
This is a fascinating natural feature located near Lulworth Cove on the Jurassic Coast. This geological wonder is known for its dramatic rock formations, sea caves, and blowholes, which have been carved out by the power of the sea over thousands of years. The view from the top is breathtaking, offering a glimpse of the layers of ancient rock that make this area so unique. It's a great spot for geology enthusiasts, photographers, and anyone who appreciates the raw beauty of nature. Although it's a small site, Stair Hole's rugged landscape and striking features make it a must-see when visiting the Lulworth area.
visitors should note that the use of drones is prohibited in this area. Additionally, the beach is not easily accessible, and the off-road path can be pretty slippery, making it difficult for some people to enjoy. Furthermore, the parking fees are steep at £10 for 4 hours and £20 for the whole day. It would be beneficial for visitors to explore other parking options in the area.
Absolutely worth to visit, had plenty of fun exploring around, even though some paths were just mud slides and you will get a little hiking to do as well. surprisingly there was not a lot of people, could be because of the season. And a tip to bring windbreaker, possible high winds.
Amazing place, its really fun but I was scared of seaweed. The water was good but too salty. Rocky beach is difficult walk on barefoot, trainers needed as hiking is required. (My daughter's opinion)

Wonder place. Stuart was exceptionally helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The facilities are top notch and selection are excellent but not over priced. Their tea and cake was also excellent. I would certainly recommend stopping in.
We have four 3-10 and they are loving every minute. Not expensive and tea , coffee, soft drinks and snacks available. Most important there are COMFY CHAIRS and nice clean toilets. Car park in front . Brilliant.
This place is fab, on site parking which is essential in Lulworth, nice open studio and super friendly staff. Great hot drinks and prior to covid some pretty delicious cakes!! The crafts are very reasonably priced, would be fantastic for a small party even with social distancing. Well worth a visit.
Fantastic place to lose the afternoon creating things. We spent a couple of hours making a decoupage unicorn and loved the experience. Stuart, the owner was more than welcoming and even though we stayed way past the closing hours, nothing was too much. Highly recommended place to go.
Brilliant place that we happened upon whilst on holiday, and kept us entertained for hours on a slightly damp morning. A great selection of craft activities to choose from, appealing to both children and adults! ‘Decopatch’ was the activity of choice for the 3 year old, with ‘Paint your own pottery’ for the 7 year old, Mummy and Grandad! Free parking for customers; a nice-sized venue, with each activity separated out into its own area; clean, well-equipped and welcoming environment; a cafe to keep you refreshed during your visit; with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Special mention to Stuart, who was absolutely brilliant and just a lovely guy to talk to - so enthusiastic about ‘Create at the Cove’, but also genuinely interested in his customers. We are so pleased we stumbled upon this whilst on holiday and will definitely be back next time.
Fabulous little place, visited today with our group and 5 kids, this place is so unique, a beautiful craft workshop set in a relaxed atmosphere with a cafe, it has no WiFi so not to distract from the crafts. Our group did decopage which was great value for money, there are also other things to do like pot painting. This place is great for a rainy day or if the summer of 2018 is anything to go by somewhere to get the kids out of the sun for a couple of hours (even though it's not just for kids) Overall, visit this little gem, you won't be disappointed.
Really lovely evening out at Create at the Cove. Amazing value for money as we had prosecco and a small buffet for £5 (plus the items we bought to decorate). I'd fully intended to paint a pot but I did my first ever decoupage instead. So much fun and the staff were all absolutely lovely. We will definitely be back
Such a lovely place for the kids to get creative and have a snack. Beautiful workshop with fabulous food. The atmosphere was super friendly. We had a flat tyre too and they were most accommodating with me using their car park as a repair centre :)

Lovely little church to sit outside and have your picnic before going to the beach
Lovely place to see and weekend hiking
Lovely area with beautiful walking routes, albeit hilly, other ramblers seemed friendly stopping to wave hello as we passed.
Lovely church to visit. There had been a wedding earlier that day. What a wonderful place to get married.
Wonderful place to visit
Beautiful church , I sat in the garden there and felt at peace .
Very pretty church with a bit of free parking
