A great visit to the gardens, with plenty to see for all. It was Mid spring, so the tulips were looking stunning, and some of the camelias and marigolds were beginning to bloom. We visited with 2 girls (8 & 10) who found plenty to explore. There's a lovely rope swing in the lower garden, and staff really friendly and helpful.
Lismore Garden in Waterford is a stunning, well-maintained heritage site with vibrant flowerbeds and peaceful walkways. The setting is serene, ideal for a relaxing stroll or quiet reflection. The views of Lismore Castle add a magical touch to the experience. It’s a hidden gem for nature and history lovers alike. Highly recommended for a tranquil day out. Ticket for the garden entry. Adults 10 euros and cards accepted
We loved our visit to the lismore castle and gardens. We spend 4 hours just exploring the lush grounds with all its different trees and flowers. I very much recommend a visit on a sunny day. They do offer a picnic package as well, that we haven't tried yet but will, soon enough. There is a cafe, that serves very good coffee and cakes!
Massive expansion I went to the gardens years ago and was underwhelmed being honest and decided I wouldn't bother go back again. I went there in June 2025 with a friend and was amazed at all the effort and work that has been put into the walks and gardens since that time. There are nice walks, interesting gardens and lovely views of the castle. They even have 2 large segments of the original Berlin Wall.
Lovely garden, lots of colour and verity in the plants. Well worth a visit. The castle is not open to the public.
Spellbound by the visit. A very interesting garden with completely different areas, Only one thing in common. They are all beautiful
Lovely places, you can having a coffee and pastries 🍰 😀. 10,50 this the prise fir one adult tickets 🎟. You have a vegetables stand.
Lovely place to walk around, although dissapointing for inability to see the castle due to the fact that it is not open to the public

This building had a special vibe to the place and you could see that is was a house of God. Lots of history in every cranny of the cathedral. No admission to the cathedral but there is a donation box. Everything has an explanation around the building. There are lovely stone carving dated from the 11th century and Columba Chapel and Mcgrath Tomb. A place not to be missed.
Lovely church with unusual ceiling details founded in the 7th century. Has a window by Edward Burne-Jones.
Beautiful cathedral with very interesting frescos on the ceiling. Really old and full of history. I like how it's location is slightly secluded as it should be for a place - it really gives a sense of peace.
I find it a home of Irish history. It was like visiting a museum. So much to learn about Ireland.
Carthage cathedral has a beautiful serene feel to it, there's lot of information regarding its history. The grounds around are well worth a walk around. Lismore is a beautiful town
Beautiful tranquil setting. What a lovely place to spend an hour away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
The church was open without anyone at night. Its interior is frightening and there's a cemetery around. When I was walking in the cemetery a light turned off. Scary.
Ok so there is a separate visiting place for lismore cathedral which are one and the same. See my review for the latter. Which is the same.

Such a gem, filled with so many incredible activities, let alone all the information on things to do in the area too. The gift shop is filled with local goodies and crafts and VR experience is well worth it. Haven't tried the escape room yet or the tours, but I will be back for sure.
A ‘Top’ Heritage Centre with lovely friendly and knowledgeable staff. We did the castle virtual reality experience which was fun before being escorted to the Dressing Up Room, couldn’t resist!
The staff are so kind and friendly. They have a fantastic escape room. Good knowledge about the area. Don't walk past this one, go in.
As it was a bank holiday it was very quiet and not many people around but we went and did the lismore castle vitual tour. It was good. It is not exceptional but worth the visit. To encourage more visitors, maybe offer high tea within the price and dress the staff in vintage clothes.
Great experience, very friendly staff . We arrived on and did the VR experience first which was a really nice way to see the castle inside when the inside is closed off to the public . After that we did the escape rooms and it was really fun . First time doing one with my partner and it was a great way to spend just under an hour ( 50 seconds to spare ) . Well worth the trip
Visited here for the Halloween Escape Room, Hocus Pocus theme, it was really good, well worth the visit! Would highly recommend! Lovely shop with local products here too. Staff were very friendly and helpful, told us about other options of activities available there too but unfortunately we didn't have time that day.
Lovely shop. I've not been anywhere else inside because of Covid. Lots of Irish-made things to buy but a bit pricey for me, although i did buy a chicken doormat once which was nice.
Staff are lovely! We did the castle experience in VR which was very good, enjoyed by adult and kids. Cant wait to go back when they reopen their escape rooms.

This St Carthages Church is a little bit off the main street but it's well worth coming up to visit. Lovely stained glass windows all around the church and lovely painted scenes too. Built in 1880. Impressive detail throughout. Lovely to see the two churches in Lismore, a seat of great religious importance, having St Carthage as their patron saint. Would recommend to visit. Its wheelchair friendly
When I entered the place the music was being played giving the place a spiritual touch, you would be amazed by the amazing ambience that takes you into a journey to find yourself peacefully emersed in a prayer. The church is part of the historical identity of Lismore and it's been renovated very well without changing the original authenticity of the building.
It's indeed a beautiful Church, I haven't spent a lot of time there but it's obviously a great piece of architectural history set in a gorgeous town.
A beautiful tranquil place. You dont need to be religious to appreciate it. Wonderful community who really care and rely on each other. A must visit. Appointments can be made to see the Cotton Library which is truly spectacular.
Impressive example of Lombardo Romanesque architectural style, St. Carthage's Church (RC) on Chapel Street, is often confused with the older St. Carthage's Cathedral on North Mall.
St. 'Carthage's Church' in Lismore will always hold a very special place in my heart!!! A most Beautiful Church to visit & Pray in Lismore!
It is a very nice church i liked my time there

Highly recommend! 🥰 Went down for the traditional music on Thursday night, mainly to see the Mannion’s! Excellent night, lots of good humour and great singers amongst the locals, Joe was brilliant as usual along with his Dad, another musician on a squeeze box and a great singer as well (sorry I didn't get your name's) hubby enjoyed singing a couple of songs too. We look forward to visiting next time we are back over!
Good bar, nice smoking area, and great outdoor space during the summer.
Not to be missed if visiting Lismore! Truly authentic Irish bar experience. Spacious feel with lovely stone-walled outdoor covered seating area. Thank you Olivia and Gary for your warm welcome - we had our best pints of Guinness during our stay in Ireland here !😎
On a recent trip to the area, a group of us were invited in and we spent the next hour or so having fun and laughter. Very accommodating and friendly staff and patrons. Would visit again if in the area. One of my fondest memories of Ireland. Thank you all
Great music and met lovely friendly locals. Only let down was when I went to bar to get a round. 3 ladies on duty and I could see it was very busy so was prepared to wait. It was only when a local who was behind me got served in front of me that I gave up...... no acknowledgement or smile to say I'll be with you next......
Always a brilliant and welcoming place, very spacious pub with a beautiful outdoor beer garden. Amazing staff and service
If your a newbie to the town it is by far the place to go. Awesome staff and locals are very welcoming. Your in for a great night whatever night you go in.
Good pub and a great venue for music, the locals are very friendly so highly recommend

Always love this superb market and the best burger in Waterford, not to mention the cakes, coffee, gluten free, crafts, jewellery, vegetables, honey and flowers. They have it all in abundance and are gorgeous people.
Very tasty bacon and sausage toll for lunch. Flowers, cakes and coffee, basketry, gifts, jewellery, jams and artwork. Of special note, "Sue's Scrumptious" chutneys and quiches are perfectly named.
Lovely seasonal produce
Not too many stalls
