WOW! We had our dream wedding at Escot House. It was everything we hd wished for and more. We had the wedding package and it was such a bargain, I highly recommend this especially if you have a budget. All of our guests were amazed by how beautiful and well set out it was. Massive thanks to both Lucy and Jo for being there to answer any questions (especially from a overthinking bride) and plan the day so well and efficiently.
Went on 18th Feb 25 took a picnic with us. The place needs an injection of cash. The picnic tables up by the death slide are broken. One table is usable the others had no legs so the seats were on the floor. No otters due to them passing. Alot of empty enclosures. The toilets in the cafe were not good. Damp my cubicle had water leaking behind the toilet pan. One of the taps didn't work. Just a bit shabby. Shame really as the staff were lovely and my granddaughter had a lovely time but I would not return or recommend.
Beautiful walk around. Limited menu but great food! So much to do and see. The best bit ... Those Red Squirrels! Everyone should visit at least once in life.
Great place to take the kids for a walk and play. There are indoor and outdoor playgrounds some animals and lots of great trees to climb.
Good place to visit with the kids. Be careful - grandparents can get easily lost in the maze 😅. Beautiful animals.
Went for Beautiful Days Festival, amazing fun, great place to have it.
A very good team building day had by our company definitely worth a return visit
Love this place and it's festival x

Nice selection of really healthy plants. Recently purchased roses from a well known diy chain, died despite doing everything to nurse them to health. A rose from an online supplier succumbed to black spot fungus within days of receiving. Sanitised all my tools and pots. Their roses are amazing. Already taken to their new surroundings and flourishing. Really well priced. Had a fire in the garage that destroyed my lovely roses last year and now feel these 4 beautiful plants will look beautiful for years to come. I don't find them anymore costly than others retailers both online or in store. I will say the plants at Otter nurseries are of top quality. Will most definitely be returning through out the seasons. I'm very passionate about gardening.
For what it's worth, it's simple, tasty, not expensive, food that come quickly to the table. Your belly will be full, and you will have money still in your pockets for plants and flowers. We went to look at herb plants only to be drawn in by the cakes (which we didn't have in the end) I had a potato and cheese pie with chips and salad, and .y partner ham ham, eggs and chips. Two teas on the side and we had change from £30!!! The food arrived at our table in super speed, hot looking tasty and fresh. I really do recommend a visit.
The best flower nursery in the Exeter area in my opinion. They offer excellent selection of anything you can think of for the garden and more. This is the only place I buy all my flowers from and every trip there is a real celebration for my family.
Visited the restaurant for lunch with the family. Super quick service and friendly staff. Very little wait time on the food. One thing we didn’t like was the menus are at the entrance on the restaurant. Which we walked past. I’m would say some paper copies or menu boards above the till area would be fantastic. Next visit we won’t make that mistake. Fantastic sale prices on the bedding and planters.
Christmas time..almost. Bursting with crimbo stuff and singing animations. Stacks of stuff for gardeners, readers, cooks, crafter's.. and a modern restaurant/cafe. Wheelchair accessible and with separate dis' loo. Bit tight but doable. Baby change in gents loo (being a blokie, I can't speak for the ladies loo for changing facilities..sorry.. Two large car parks. Need to visit to appreciate.
Didn't shop here due to being unnecessarily under surveillance. Otter nursery says 'Welcome' but then seems to treat everyone as a criminal by taking videos of them via facial recognition.
I love this garden centre. Always clean and plenty to look at. However we had lunch for the first time and couldn’t believe how strange the ordering is. Having waited in a queue for the tills, we couldn’t believe that the menu was hidden on the walls behind the waiting customers in the queue, you guys really need to make that more clear. A rushed decision at the till after the poor lad had to tell us what was on offer seemed madness. The tracker system worked, but I’ve never been to a restaurant that’s so unclear how to order? What happened to having either table service, or a menu at the till?
What a lovely place to take a wonder for christmas, with or with out the kids, old or young, couple or single, Lights, santa, fairys and so much more. Well 2025 they have Excelled them selfs with the Christmas display.

★★★★★ Absolutely Enchanting: A Dream Wedding Venue (and Photographer's Paradise!) Cadhay House and Garden is simply breathtaking. I recently had the pleasure of attending a wedding there, and I was utterly captivated by its charm. The stunning location provides a truly magical backdrop, with the beautiful grounds offering endless opportunities for picturesque moments. The manor house itself is steeped in history and exudes elegance, creating an atmosphere of timeless romance. From the meticulously manicured gardens to the grand architecture, every detail contributes to an unforgettable experience. As a wedding photographer, I was particularly impressed by the diverse range of settings – from intimate corners to sweeping vistas – providing incredible scope for capturing truly special memories. I'm so excited to be returning to Cadhay in 2025 and 2026 to photograph more weddings at this incredible venue. It’s a photographer’s dream and the perfect setting for a fairytale wedding. Highly recommend!
I visited here with my partner to enjoy the gardens and have a bite to eat in the tea room. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. The walled garden is a dream for the budding chef. I thoroughly enjoyed working out every single variety of berry I saw. To then leave the walled garden and appear in front of the ponds was a true delight. It was absolutely beautiful even on a grey day. I could sit there for hours enjoying my favourite novel, but sadly I didn’t have enough time! Before I left, I enjoyed a piece of cake and a pot of tea, very reasonably priced and card payments are accepted. There are areas that are a little uneven underfoot so if you have limited mobility, you may wish to keep that in mind. Next time I visit, I will definitely have a look around the historic house as it’s clear that the people who give you the tour a very knowledgeable. Definitely a hidden gem!
A beautiful Tudor house (family home)and gardens open Friday afternoons from 2 until 5. House tours also available. Delicious tea and cakes. Wheelchair access/ mobility scooter. A wonderful place to visit.
Went for a day tour of the house and gardens plus we enjoyed an afternoon tea. Glorious gardens with a few shady nooks to sit in. Very friendly volunteers. Just a lovely day - highly recommended 👌
Brilliantly lovely summer’s day tour of Ottery St Mary Church and Cadhay. House is beautifully restored and chimes with modern days needs. Gardens are beautiful and cleverly “alloted” and tea and company were superb. A memorable day of history, conversation and gardens
I came here on a tour, the house was fantastic place to visit and the guide was very knowledgeable. From connections to Sir Isaac Newton’s with his portrait hanging to Mary Reibey Australian $20. This place is definitely a go to. Check timings when it’s open but definitely enjoyable. 👍🏻
This is a wonderful place to visit. The man at the till was very polite and we did the 2.30 tour of the house. The house guide lady was knowledgable, friendly and very engaging. There is a great courtyard in the middle. Unfortunately we had to leave before it ended, but I will look forward to our return next year.
I chose Cadhay for my wedding venue and could not have been more impressed. Rupert and Jayne were extremely helpful and made the whole experience that much more special. The house and cottages are well kept and the grounds are stunning. Would highly recommend.

Just beautiful....simply stunning building of Worship.
Spectacular church. So much to explore inside. A wealth of historical features. The service was excellent. The gift shop in support of the church is really well stocked with a great variety of products.
I visited Ottery St Mary and its parish church because of ancestral ties, and it was a wonderful experience. The church is often described as a smaller version of Exeter Cathedral, and it truly is a lovely, well-kept building. Inside, one of the oldest surviving mechanical astronomical clocks in England still ticks gently away in the transept - a remarkable piece of history in itself. The church holds marriage and burial records up until 1873, which the parishioners kindly brought out for us while preparing afternoon tea. To our delight, we found the marriages of my ancestors listed from 1806, 1829, and 1837. By sheer luck, the afternoon tea coincided with our visit, so we joined in. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and we enjoyed a wonderful chat with one of the parishioners who sat with us. Altogether, a charming and memorable visit, both for the church itself and the people who make it so welcoming.
An amazing church with remarkable community! You will be truly welcomed and encouraged to see, feel and enjoy of the great spirit of the parishes there. During the pandemic people have created an amazing carpet, and each part have been made by different person. That incredible hand made work tell us a story for patience, believe, and hope.
Beautiful church on a huge scale for such a small village.
St Mary Parish Church is a beautiful church. I was able to tour the church and take some photos. I believe that my 3rd great-grandparents James Manley & Jane Creedy were married in this church on 31 Mar 1806. James Manley was a miller residing at Tipton Mill, Tipton St John.
Very attractive church, made from beer limestone, especially inside, outside looks a bit worn/old but inside is nice. Stainglass windows are beautiful. I'm an atheist but worth it for the craftsmanship and history. It's a essentially a smaller version of Exeter Cathedral.
We love this church. Beatifull souroundings and loads of history. Have a look at the old clock mechanism, still working after centuries. We are biased, as our relatives who lived in the village, must have come to this church 3 generations ago. The local historical museum, across the road, opens this April (2019). We'll be back.

Spent a fantastic few hours clay shooting at this brilliant venue. The instructor (Nigel) made the event so good with his tutorial and his humour and hints whilst shooting. This was our second visit and we loved it and will be returning again for sure. Thanks Nigel your a star mate.
We took our mum for our first ever Archery experience for her birthday at the weekend and had such a fun day. Tom our instructor was brilliant: so helpful, friendly and encouraging with lots of tips to help us get better. Everything felt very safe. Highly recommend the Archery as we really got our moneys worth with plenty of shoots each and we did much better than we thought we would and got even better as we went on thanks to Tom’s instruction. This is our second time at Devon Activity Centre and definitely won’t be the last. It’s always such a good day out: beautiful scenery, helpful and friendly staff and lots of fun activities.
Shaun. C was our instructor for the day. Safety was paramount and Shaun was very competent in putting us through our paces before setting off through the park. Thoroughly enjoyed the day with Shaun keeping a careful eye on us to ensure we were safe at all times. Very happy to recommend.
We had a great time at the weekend on a 1 hour Segway Safari! All necessary safety equipment is provided and a period of training is given before the safari starts. Our instructor, Lauren, was brilliant, keeping an eye on everyone, offering advice and praise as we went along and she also took some lovely photos! We’ll definitely be returning to Segway again!
Absolutely brilliant day out. We did Archery, Air Rifles and Axe Throwing. Excellent value for money. Sean M was fantastic, very helpful, funny and professional. He instructed us the whole way and made it fun. Even Grogi got to join in (see photo). Will be back again. Thankyou. Katie and Kai.
Really fun experience! Me and my partner booked onto the 60 minute Segway safari. Very fortunately we were the only ones on the booking so we managed to make the most of our time. Ewan, our guide, was incredibly attentive and a laugh, which made the experience even better. Thank you so much! Will very likely be coming back again at some point. :)
We booked Devon Activity Centre for a stag do, and it was absolutely spot on! The whole experience was well-organized, packed with fun, and perfect for a group looking for a mix of competition and laughs. We did air rifles, axe throwing, go-karts, and footgolf, and every activity was brilliant. The courses were well set up, the equipment was top quality, and we had just the right amount of guidance. Massive shoutout to Seb and Beano, who were absolute legends—keeping the energy high, cracking jokes, and making sure everyone had a great time. One of the funniest moments of the day? One of the lads managed to get a kickback to the forehead from the air rifle (don’t ask how), leaving him with a nice little battle mark. Thankfully, the hosts handled it brilliantly—checking he was alright while making sure we could all still have a good laugh about it. It just added to the stories we’ll be telling for years! If you’re planning a stag do, team day, or just an epic day out, this place is a must! We’ll definitely be back for round two. Thanks again to the team! 🎯🏎️🏌️‍♂️🪓🍻
Fab fun. Loved the Archery. Sean M was the best instructor. Cheers for a great day.

I needed two alterations made, one of which was tricky. I also needed a rescue job with some extremely slippery silk fabric. Juliet took on the challenges and I couldn't be more pleased with the outcomes. I am delighted. Thank you.
Broke the zip on my Djembe drum bag as I am cackhanded. Lovely lady, sorry I didn't ask your name, mended it there and then for me and didn't even want paying. OMG, service doesn't get any better than this. Would highly recommend, please support local business. ♥️
Great little shop just off The Square, selling all kinds of sewing, crotchet, knitting and craft items, as well as "project boxes" which contain all the necessary stuff to make something colourful and hand crafted - great for kids and adults alike. Classes held inside. Also has some finished goods for sale. Support your local businesses!! (ok, there are currently constraints!)
Went in and the lady is doing my alterations.
