Excellent place to relax and enjoy the view, usually there is high tide in the early hours and low in the afternoon and that is when you can enjoy the ice cream cart that appears on the beach, just wait for the tide to go out. Always take your trash with you so as not to contaminate and so that everyone can enjoy the beach.
Portmarnock Beach is an absolutely beautiful and spacious beach, perfect for a relaxing day by the sea! The area is clean and well maintained, with plenty of room to walk, sunbathe, or enjoy a swim. There’s even a convenient spot to change clothes, as well as public toilets and outdoor taps to rinse off your feet after the beach. Cyclists will appreciate the secure bike stands, and there’s easy access by both car and public transport, parking and a bus stop are right nearby. You can also grab some delicious ice cream while you’re there, which makes the visit even more enjoyable. Overall, Portmarnock Beach offers everything you need for a great day out, peaceful, clean, and well equipped. Highly recommended for families, couples, or anyone looking to unwind by the Irish coast!
I would say best beach in Dublin :) plenty of space, water in the sea is not deep, so you could walk and swim freely :)
Wide and shallow beach with soft sand. Rarely crowded. A great spot to walk and just relax.
It is one of the best beach ⛱️ i have been in Dublin. This is awesome and very very beautiful. Walk here is like a dream and it is close to howth. Will suggest to walk here during a sunny day and spend some quality time at the beach.
Please use public transport to access this beach as car parking is very limited. The council do their best to clean the beach every day but people insist on leaving rubbish behind. The far end of the beach in common with most beaches in Ireland is clothing optional
The beach never fails a good old adventure, nature curiousities, beautiful wildlife and enough of peaceful solitude from the busy town life. Everytime I come here, there is something new to explore: various sea shells, crabs, star fishes, birds, jellyfishes (washed ashore) etc. During lowtide you can almost walk to Howth/Burrow Beach or around the south tip and get a good walk!
One of the best beaches in Ireland to visit . Perfect time to visit is summer . This place is suitable for a family out. Everyone can relax , enjoy and spend some time with their family and friends . Low tides so swimming and bathing is not difficult ( take precautions before entering water ) . Can have sun bath those who loves it. Children can play and build sand castles. Good place for dogs also . Parking is available nearer road side . Other views are we can see the airo planes taking off very clearly when we are in sea side . Must take foods and drinks if you are planning to visit . Prepare a bag with clothes for swimming too .

I had the absolute pleasure of golfing at Portmarnock yesterday. The whole experience was unforgettable from the location to the course to the staff. The course is a fair test of golf when the wind is relatively calm and the greens are remarkable. The caddiemaster, Dave, was incredibly helpful and Paddy saw me around the course and was a wonderful caddie. The pro shop is well stocked and the restaurant in the clubhouse is fantastic after a round. I would not hesitate to golf at Portmarnock if I find myself in Dublin in the future.
Really have improved the experience. Good warm welcome and great banter from the staff. Restaurant staff are very good and chatty Great food, great golf and great pro shop, what else you want.
Beautiful golf link golf course on a coast. Staff is very friendly. Well maintain
Everything about this course was amazing! The moment we arrived, we were greeted by the caddy master and it set the positive tone the entire day. The locker room/pro shop was amazing. The golf course and experience with the caddies were off the charts stunning. A once in a lifetime experience. Plus I had a birdie eagle birdie stretch. Shot 71!! A must play in Ireland!!! I hope the open championship will select them in the near future!
First class experience. A beautiful golf course. This was the first time I’ve played a true links course. The day I played, the wind was consistently 20+mph. It was tough but fun. If new to the course or links golf in general, I recommend a caddie. Thank you Portmarnock
Fantastic place and ran into Shane Lowry who was practicing ahead of the Irish open.
Great conditions tee to green. Firm but fair and consistent. Caddie service is great, we had Owen who was very helpful. Enjoyable layout. Breathtaking views on the water holes. Championship course.
Super course, immaculate condition. Paddy the Caddy was very helpful. Looking forward to playing it again in less than 50 Mph winds.
