We did this at the end of our trip, after seeing a lot of sites. It was still incredible. We prebooked tickets the second the window opened, and sellout happens quickly, so be sure to act like these are concert tickets. We went at 930. Drove up from Dublin. We took the 3 hour tour, which seemed like a long time on paper and was actually perfect. The tour is well arranged. The guides are nice. A moderate amount of stairs and hills. In Newgrange, I was got scared at how tiny the tunnel was and turned around. The guide on the outside said that I should try again because it opens up reall big after that spot. I did. He was right, and I am so glad he convinced me. This is a must experience.
Best thing we did in Ireland. Highly recommend! The site and the whole experience was fantastic. Our tour guides were amazing, too. The opportunity to enter the ancient tunnel and go 20 meters in to the central room and burial chambers was unforgettable. It’s a mystery with many questions left unanswered. There’s also dozens of Neolithic/Megalithic art carvings in stone surrounding the tombs. Visitors centre was great. Loved it all!! A must see IMHO 👀 Enjoy!!
This place is truly amazing and full of history. I don’t think many people, even those living in Ireland, know about it. It feels like time travel—taking you back 5,300 years. It’s one of the oldest man-made structures on Earth and is very well protected. Make sure to book your tickets online before visiting. It’s absolutely worth more than what you pay. All the guides are wonderful and explained everything thoroughly throughout the tour. We loved it so much and learned a lot from the experience.
Incredible experience! Allowed inside for an amazing recreation of the solstice. Whole experience really well curated and taken in small groups by bus to ensure it's never busy. Guide informative.
Fantastic place to visit. Great system of shuttles and guides are lovely with great knowledge. You must book ahead on website you cannot just turn up and get in. We'll worth visiting
As a tour guide who has visited Amazing Historical site for over 20 years as a private guide Newgrange and knowth never fails to Amaze me. I think anyone that comes to Ireland and doesn't visit these sites and this Magical and mystical Boyne Valley region. The Visitor centre is one of the best in Europe also.
Incredible experience. Our guide Sinéad was brilliant, and her use of Irish throughout the tour made it particularly special. The moment where the tomb lights up was surprisingly emotional. A must-see.
We did Newgrange and Knowth. Definitely cool but I much preferred the stone circles. They seemed more natural/untouched. These sites are extensively rebuilt - which is great to save what we can. They just didnt give any vibes at all. Maybe too many people. Sept 9, 2024. I missed Broadleas and Athgreany to see this and its one of my biggest regrets of the trip. 2nd trip we did Broadleas but Athgreany is closed indefinitely.

This place was amazing! You must buy tickets before arriving. They have limited slots available for each time slot. This allows you to enter the mound. The grounds were well kept. The view is amazing. I got goosebumps after entering the mound. It's amazing to think people walked in the passage for thousands of years, just like you do. There is a museum before you enter the grounds with a lot of information. They even simulate the solar cycle in the passage. This place is a must visit while you are in Ireland.
I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but was very happy to discover that there was a timed, guided tour with limited numbers. There's a chance to look around the visitors centre before you board a private bus to the first stop - Nowth. The tour was about an hour long, but the time went very quickly - despite the awful weather. Next stop was Newgrange. Again we had plenty of time to listen to the guide and take photographs. The highlight was being given entrance to the middle of the tomb and seeing the skill that went into making it. Wonderful, humbling experience. Well worth making the trip and very good value for money. Compared to Stonehenge, it's much better. Better value, more interesting, proper guided tours, plenty of opportunities to take pictures and limited to small groups. Stonehenge is, in comparison, almost £30 each; packed like sardines onto a bus; told to 'move along' when you do get to the stones and no guide.
Super neat place that supposedly pre dates the pyramids. The tour guides were really knowledgeable and cracked a few puns. Very neat to see all the ancient pictographs, and view some of the symbols that are present all over Ireland. I really enjoyed this visit. Perfect weather when we went.
You cannot miss visiting this UNESCO World Heritage site. Book ahead otherwise you won’t get in. Book via the dedicated website. It’s simply amazing to see and have the guide tell you about civilisations Neolithic and 3200BC. It’s the oldest site I’ve ever done.
Great place to visit, young and old. From petting the animals and feeding the sheep, holding day old chick's, Plenty of space for children to run around. Play areas for children too.
Newgrange is an amazing site to behold. So ancient and mind blowing. Keep an eye on the weather. We did Knowth on our tour and it was very wet and mainly outside. Shout out to Tour guide Suzy, she’s so passionate about landscape archeology. She’s very knowledgeable and good looking and wish I could have got her number. Good stuff!!
WOW, what hisory this place holds! spectacular countryside. very good tour gide. book in advance !
A piece of prehistorical history. It's really impressive how these structures came to us across the millennia. There is a visitor center with an interesting exhibition. You can choose different kinds of guided tours: only new Grange or also knowth and sought. Sometimes, as for us, you can't visit the tumulus inside. Very good experience.

If I could give 10 stars I would. I brought my 2.5 year old little girl this morning & she had a ball. Highlight was the spin with the two horses & the staff were so friendly. Already can't wait to go back. Amazing playground, nice coffee, tractors the lott. Great fun
Fantastic experience for kids to come into contact with farm life. Staff are incredible and above all, the cart ride. It’s unmissable. Animals are all well cared for and friendly, grounds and installations spotless. Great option for a day outdoors with kids.
We had a wonderful morning at the farm. All staff were so pleasant, we had an exceptional horse and carriage ride, my sons 5 & 2 loved it. The farm is super clean and well looked after. It's perfect for a family day out. Great value in the coffee shop too.
This is a lovely little place but there's not a whole lot to do. It would be a great day out for a family with young children to bring a picnic on a sunny day. There are some quick activities but definitely aimed at younger children. The animals were beautiful and seemed to be well taken care of.
The farm is small but well maintained overall, except for the indoor playground, which could use a bit more cleaning. The playground itself was good, though most of the equipment was quite small, similar to home setups. The horse carriage ride and tractor ride were enjoyable. The cafeteria is small and offers only basic refreshments. There were various farm animals to see, including a yak, which was a nice addition.
Great day here today with wife, 4 y.o. and 2 y.o. Huge car park, great access, clean spacious toilets and lots to do. Sandpits, playgrounds, ride on tractors, football goals, basketball hoop, tractor trailer rides and horse and cart rides. Plus farm animals seem happy and healthy and well cared for - Pony, donkeys, sheep's, geese and cattle. Large paddocks with lots of grass for grazing and access to fresh water. The horse drawn cart was pulled by a well able gorgeous 6 year old called Goldie, who had access to water after each tour and was in shaded area between rides. No more than 4 per cart so not huge pressure on the horse, which is unlike other similar attractions. €2.50 a person for the horse drawn cart and tractor drawn ride, so not unreasonable. On site coffee shop serving tea coffee scones or chocolate/crisps with large indoor seating area and picnic tables outside aswell. 5 or 6 jungle gyms for kids to play on and plenty of swings too, plus play area with another jungle gym and timber train and play village. Will definitely be returning, do recommend bringing a decent lunch. The session is 3 hours which is plenty of time which goes quickly.
We had a wonderful visit here recently. There is plenty for the kids to do- horse and carriage ride and the blue barrel express were a big hit! The staff were all so lovely and great with the kids! Plenty of parking- you might even be lucky enough to be greeted by Poppy the dog- she's absolutely beautiful!
A group of us went to the Halloween experience. No atmosphere none of the staff were in costume. Nothing much different from the regular visit except it was raining and miserable. One of the children was on a climbing frame which was very slippery and wet. She fell on it and her tooth went through her lip. We asked for first aid and a girl who had obviously no first aid training came and offered alcohol wipes for the inside of a child's mouth. We asked her for some ice which was eventually brought. This was a fitting end to a diaappointing and expensive trip. There's really very little there apart from 3 paid for rides and bad coffee. Can't recommend this won't be back

We had a Beautiful sunny day. Tour guide was knowledgeable and answered all kinds of questions . 30 min guided your , then time to explore yourself..and small exhibition across the road.
Interesting place to spend a few hours and learn about history. Very well organised tour, just be sure to book tickets in advance

Absolutely incredible experience. The groups are small which make the tour very enjoyable. The guide I had was very personable, knowledge and you could really tell she has true passion for this place. I feel terrible I forgot her name or I would absolutely mention it.
Highly recommend. We had an amazing tour guide (Uisce), got to see gorgeous pieces of history and some great views of the surrounding area from the top of the mound
Hard to believe that the site has been used since 3000 BC. This is well worth a journey to see. A guided tour is the only way to see Knowth. There are no self-guided tours.
Very fun and educational. All the guides were knowledgeable and thoughtful.
Amazing and mind blowing. Very cool. Part of the Newgrange tour. Must try. Score if you get Suzy as a tour guide.

Very cool passage tomb. Its a short walk from the road so very accessible. I really liked it. Its hard to believe its 5000 years old.
Quite unassuming passage tomb but in good condition. Amazing how something ~5,000 yrs old is just part of the wider Irish landscape ! Good signage on the roads around and the tomb itself is about 80m walk from the road. Unfortunately not wheelchair accessible as one has to use steps over the boundary wall.
It is really beautiful - don't forget to walk all around the circumference of the mound as there is nothing to invite you to investigate, but you will be amazed at all the huge stones with art like Knowth and Newgrange. The actual passage is locked with a small gate but it looks special indeed even with the light of my phone! no tickets are necessary and I just hope the OPW don't commercialise it like the aforementioned 🙏. So
A lot smaller than the nearby passage tombs at Knowth and Newgrange and a lot quieter. Entrance to the site is free, but there isn't much to see here, with the doorway to the tomb sealed off and a lot of the curbstones still buried. There hasn't been any archaeological work done here in a long time. I'd still recommend a visit as it's still a worthy spectacle, just don't expect too much, especially if you've already visited the other sites nearby.
I love this place it's free to enter but not the easiest to get into as you need to cross some gates but so worth it. Fantastic view from the top of the monument and be amazed by the history of this area. Make sure to cross the field and have a look at Netterville Manor which was once an almshouse and mother and baby home. Visit the adjoining grave yard and ancient church .
One of three ancient monuments with Newgrange and Knowth, this one is free to visit and walk around, whilst you are here it's worth visiting nearby John Boyle O'Reilly monument and old Netterville Institute visible from Dowth. When you are on top of the Monument you can see the Newgrange.
This place was overgrown and felt slightly neglected.. and yet it still held some energy. And unlike the nearby Newgrange and Knowth passage tombs, this one is completely open to the public and free to wander around. You can’t go inside but it’s still a great spot to stop. Do watch out for the sheep poo though 😂💩
Loved this peaceful visit. We were there 45 minutes on a Sunday and were the only people! We stood on top enjoying the view while the kids ran the fields and explored. It was wild and beautiful and peaceful.

If you don’t want to feel stressed about moving a large group from A to B, go with Murray’s Coaches. We used them to transport a 160-guest wedding party from Dublin city centre to a southside venue, and they were fantastic. Immaculate coaches, professional drivers, responsive communication, and a friendly service from start to finish. Alan was brilliant to deal with—reliable, incredibly patient, and accommodating. Everything ran like clockwork. Couldn’t recommend them more.
Used recently for a group going to a 21st birthday party in Dublin.it was by far the best value for money around and genuinely couldn’t fault the service. Driver was very patient and accommodating. Would definitely recommend and will be using again.
We hired Murray & Son Coaches for our TY ball, and they were absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The bus arrived on time, was spotless, and the driver was incredibly professional and friendly. He made sure everyone got to and from the venue safely and smoothly, which took a lot of stress off our shoulders. The journey was comfortable, and the whole experience was top-notch. We couldn’t have asked for better service. Highly recommend them for any event.
On behalf of the ladies from Curragha ICA, I want to say a huge thank you to Murray & Sob Coaches for the fabulous service provided to our group this week. From my initial phone call to book a coach to travelling on the day, the service was seamless. I needed to alter pick up tines and bus capacity a few times and there was no issue whatsoever. Our driver Will was simply amazing and was ever ready to assist whoever needed assistance getting on or off the coach and bearing in mind there was almost a 30 year age gap among the group.. 60 uowards so he was kept busy. Everyone had a fabulous day out and my job was made much easier by getting the exceptional service from Michael and his team. Also great to support local business too. Until our next outing thank you.
We took our minor team away on a team bonding day and the coach that we got from Murray & Son Coaches was perfect for us at a very reasonable price - a brand new 30 seater, very comfortable seats, plenty of space, air-conditioning, spotlessly clean. Also the driver Eoin was sound and was there for us at all times, stopping here and there was not a problem. I would highly recommend using this company. Dave
Booked a minibus to do the mystery pub tour for a bunch of mates over from UK. Return trip from Dublin to Meath, Paddy our driver was brilliant. Faultless from start to finish. Great price too.
I used Murrays for two concerts this summer and was really impressed with how reliable they were. The drivers were incredibly friendly and professional. I couldn’t recommend them more, excellent service all around! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Michael and his gang see absolutely brilliant. Once again on Saturday 12th July he organised 2of his Double Deckers to bring the Boyne Swimmers to Mell. This is like school tour for the shimmers. Huge thanks to Michael and his team they are only brilliant. If you need a bus look no further because nobody will look after you better than Murray and son coaches. Boyne Swim Team 2025
