It's a very interesting place situated at the location, where you do not expect to find something like this. It is well organized and the reconstruction was performed quite nice. It is really important to take the way passing Trigueros and not the another one because of the condition of the road.
Dolmen de Soto (Andalusia, Spain) was rediscovered in 1922, located in the municipality of Trigueros (Huelva) is one of the most important and best preserved megalithic sites of the peninsula. Construction may have taken place between the Neolithic and the Bronze Age 3000-2500 BC. This complex is covered by a large earthen hill with a diameter of 60 meters and surrounded by a 65m stone circle. Inside Soto Dolmen there is a chamber and a 21m corridor of large slabs of various stones.
As a historic site I would rate it five stars. As a visitor experience it is one star because despite signs on the gate giving opening hours, it is definitively CLOSED for conservation. Don’t be fooled by the write-ups which say it re-opened in December. Maybe it did, but it is closed now.
We had an excellent guide who took us through the history of Dolmen de Soto. I learnt that they found evidence which dates back nearly 6000 years ago. It was all very fascinating 👏 😊
Made the long and difficult drive to get there to find out it was closed. The website is cryptic at best and we trusted google hours. Do check before you go, from what we can understand from the website it may be closed for maintenance but not really sure
Really impressive restored Dolmen. Free with visitor centre and info. Info on other area Dolmen which are equally cool to visit.
The Dolmen is fantastic, a must see. Great effort has been made to restore and preserve this historic monument. The interpretive center and staff are wonderful. The resources for English speakers are limited to subtitles on the video presentation but our experience was excellent. This is a lovely site that should not be missed.
Must see if nearby. Access a but tricky. Best from Trigueros

(Translated by Google) Catholic temple of Gothic-Mudejar style built in the 14th century. It has a basilica plan formed by three naves, a polygonal apse and a false balcony over lateral naves like a clerestory. Without a doubt the most characteristic element of the church is the fortified character given to it by the Almohad towers located on the head of the side naves, as well as the battlements that finish off the complex. The previous existence of a mosque-fortress or Almohad castle from the 12th century is speculated. After the Lisbon Earthquake of 1755, the church suffered serious damage, making it necessary to reform different parts of the structure, especially the façade and the side chapels. Also notable about the construction is the mix of architectural styles, finding Gothic elements on the roof, Mudejar elements on the walls and the arches that separate the naves, and baroque elements transitioning to neoclassical on the main façade.

(Translated by Google) Temple with an imposing structure, very similar to that of the Royal Lady of Santa Ana of Seville. It stands out for its Gothic style and the aesthetics of a fortress, which it once was, on its exterior façade. Also noteworthy are its baptismal chapel, tabernacle and heart of Jesus, Cristo de los Remedios (crucified with a reputation for being miraculous), Virgin of Fátima or the titular, San Antonio Abad (It is not the devotional image of the patron saint, since he is in his hermitage on Fernando Belmonte street, about 200 meters west of the parish).
(Translated by Google) There is much controversy about its date of construction, its possible origin as an Almohad fortress or as a later Templar fortress, the order to which it supposedly belonged. It had to be rebuilt after the Lisbon earthquake of 1755 and this makes research into its original remains difficult. Apart from this, the Church-fortress stands out as, in my opinion, the most important moment of the town and worthy of admiring its architecture.
