While exploring the area, we came across the Hohe Tauern National Park Information Centre in Mittersill, and it turned out to be a great find. This interactive museum offers fascinating insights into the national park, including its wildlife, landscapes, and ecosystems. One of the highlights was the 3D cinema experience, which brought the beauty of the park to life in an engaging way. It’s a great spot for families, as there are plenty of interactive displays that kids will enjoy. You can easily spend an hour or two here learning about the park before heading out to explore the real thing. The centre also has a coffee shop and a gift shop, making it a nice place to take a break. There’s ample parking right outside, and from there, it’s an easy walk into Mittersill’s town centre, making it a convenient stop while in the area. Definitely worth a visit if you’re nearby!
Visited on July 4th on our way back from Krimml waterfalls. It is nice little museum. Their 360° movie theater was great. We were limited by the time and could spend there only an hour but for comfortable visit I recommend to allow about 2 hours. We took bus 670 that runs every hour on weekdays but free parking is available. Walk from the bus stop is about 450 meters.
Great spot to spend hour or two and learn about Austria's biggest national park. Expositions are interesting and made also in english (except for 3d cinema) so it's not an issue if you don't speak german. If you are going to Hohe Tauern and passing town of Mittersil I would definetely recommend to stop by.
Very interesting centre, packed with information. Perfect when the weather is not ideal for walking in the mountains. Plenty to keep kids entertained, with interactive exhibits. All the information boards are in German and English. The English translations are good (which definitely isn't the case everywhere in the region). The 3D cinema show is good, but we couldn't get the English audio to work (uses a QR code).
We only came here for just under an hour after a trip to the waterfalls. It’s an impressive place and we were able to still soak up most of it in the time we had there. Yes, the glacier was a key highlight!
Most Amazing waterfalls I have seen. Sightseeing spots here and there on the trail and the trail was in good condition despite it has been raining a lot here. And places to rest and buy some drinkit & food. Recommended.
We had two people in wheelchairs. This place was very accessible and interactive throughout. I would recommend this to anyone with mobility issues. The exhibits were very well done. We all loved it. Excellent 360 exhibit. Good food.
Very nice and interesting . Presents the animals , rocks and nature in a 360 dimensions

Very nice museum, I have arrived one sunday afternoon, I have seen a video talking about in history how they condempt a woman to death for being a witch. It takes like 15min and it's great. Seen on wall names of persons who died trying to come across the Austrian Alpes. Nice place to visit when you can, takes max 2hours if you want to read and educate yourself a bit more.
Nice and well designed Museum with interesting details about the history of the area. Worth to visit!
What a great little museum that is interesting both for adults and children! Modern interactive exhibits and interesting historic artefacts about the cross-alpine exchanges and culture. Fun game for the kids that kept them engaged for 90min
Interesting and beautiful building

Certainly one of the better museum concepts. Highly recommended. (Original) Het museumdeel in de toren ("handel over de bergpassen") is in 2021 volledig vernieuwd. I had a very enjoyable lunch at the golf Club in Mittersill today. It is open to non golfers, and, unless the weather is awful, it is open every day. As it is on the cycle route, you can call in for a drink or meal on your cycle ride. You can sit inside, outside or in a conservatory. There are lovely views and the staff are very friendly. The young man who runs it speaks very good English.
Fair course, Nice layout. Good offers at the pro-shop
Nice and easy golf course in an alpine village
Good beer; nice place
Nice place with nice staff
(Translated by Google) This very flat 18-hole golf course is located in the middle of the Hohe Tauern. Equipped with a driving range, chipping area and several putting greens, nothing stands in the way of a nice round of golf after warming up. Water stations, toilets and drinks machines are well distributed throughout the 18 holes. The first 9 holes impress with their attractive layout and beautiful panorama. Excited by the first 9 holes, we move on to the second 9. Unfortunately, the attention to detail drops off a bit there, although the design of the holes is very sophisticated and yet charming. After completing the round, the thought floats: “If only I had played the second 9 first”.

I did not actually take the class but I had to cancel it on the day for an emergency and they fully refunded me and understood the situation. Really nice people!
I'm a beginner and had a lesson from Manuel. It was the best lesson I've ever had. He is a great teacher and dealt with my anxiety perfectly. Would recommend!
I highly recommend this skiing school. We went there with our kids for two years, great experience both times. Small groups for the children’s courses, we felt our kids were safe and seen. Most of all; they loved it! My son said he definitely wants to return to this school again next year because ‘the teachers are all friendly, very patient and also very funny, and I trust them’. He spent his days on the slopes with his class and returned each day full of stories and improved skills. Our daughter was not strong enough last year, they were honest about this and advised us to stop. They did not push beyond her boundaries, which kept it all a good experience for her. She returned this year without hesitation and now succeeded. Thank you, snow experts!
Very good experience being trained by these instructors, they did my schools ski trip and made it amazing I cannot thank them enough!
Bad ski rental experience in Resterhöhe / Passthurn - they charged 2x a full service fee for a few superficial scratches on the skis... and they accepted to give me the receipt (showing the fee) only after I paid.
Nice ppl and cool location! We were stranded here because our hotels pickup failed to turn up and these guys helped us out post open hours!
Excellent ski/snowboardrental. Good price quality ratio.
Awesome Skischool! Had a lot of fun!
