Really fascinating time capsule of everything and anything from so many different times in Irish history. Fabulous relaxed experience
Great lovely tour from are host it's small but you could spend a hour and half or more looking about and hearing about the things inside
Well worth the trip, we went here with all the family, the kids had a great time, it was like a walk back through history. Amazing little place and the tour was brilliant. Thanks for having us. Would highly recommend for anyone from all ages.
Having visited Ballinamore for a number of years since a child, this was my 1st time going here with my children. I wasn't sure what to expect but I need not of worried. This place is really good and the gentleman who show us around is a real asset to the place. He showed us everything and gave such great detailed information about things. He explained that the owner would be able to give more details but to be honest his knowledge was fantastic. Our son who is 5yrs old loved it. He was asking so many questions & each was answered. This place is great for the young & the old. We were a family of 4 & this place is well worth a visit. We already have 2 extra people to visit with us again in the near future. A real hidden Leitrim gem.
What an amazing place - so many cool and interesting pieces! We spent two and a half hours with Eugene as he shared his incredible knowledge of the collection with us. He's a very funny guy and had us laughing the whole time. Great value for money. The place was spotlessly clean. The cars/truck in particular were mint. A great way to spend a few hours - you will not regret paying a visit. Where else would you get to see 4,000 egg cups?
- the best private museum I have ever been - the tour guide is very knowledgeable, engaging & fun - great pieces that will definitely be hard to see elsewhere - highly recommended to everyone, especially history geeks
This is a place where you can see many old things explained from a wonderful man. Questions are welcome.
Brilliant, well worth it 👌 👍 would go again 😀 so much to see.

Great spot for country music every Saturday nite. Dancing etc...lovely dance floor...so drop in you never know who u would meet...
A traditional wee bar as you’d expect! If you’re looking for some country music or line dancing then this is the place for you. The clientele is certainly of quite a mature age. The fire is always burning! A welcoming little place.
Always a pleasure coming in here every year we are down. Owner and staff very welcoming and friendly. Just what an Irish bar should be.
If you want a traditional Irish pub in Ballinamore this is the place to be

Lovely place, my niece thoroughly enjoyed the soft play area.
Cute little set up and was great for entertaining the kids, it was very hot out so nice to have the indoor choice. They lady running the place was very friendly and helpfully. Nice food choices for the kids and reasonably priced. Kids had a great time. More so for smaller kids up to age 5, I would say.
Lovely building . Amazing food . Great staff . Ideal for kids party's and work meetings. Highly recommended 👌
I went to the Kids play centre and I found it to be quite good. it was clean and well maintained and the lady that served us was very nice and polite. Whilst the kids are playing the hall has some interesting information about the area that you can read about.
Great stop for a snack & very welcoming staff.
Great place for young children. Easy to control a group of children and can see them at all times. Facilities are clean and good. Food is what the children like if not the Mum's. Overall a great place.
Can't fault the people responsible for the Information Centre, all excellent. The great pity is that much of their good work must count for so much less because the local landowners do do not grant access to the several archaeological sites which could make Fenagh a go-to place. Two megalithic tombs, two (or more) standing stone groups, earthworks and Crannogs - all out of sight thanks to the miserable folk who own the land.
Excellent, lovely food too. Great for children bdays. We were in the monk's den

While the two friends I was with were more than happy with the Guinness Jackie served. Being a bit early in the day for me, Jackie made me a great big mug of tea, which was every bit as satisfying as the Guinness being supped. Every evening we went in the order was two pints of Guinness and a mug of tea. Jackie from one Manc to another, MANY THANKS.
Went here midweek during a 5 night stay. Was quiet but were happy to keep us going until closing. Dart board available and I’m led to believe music at the weekends on occasion. Another traditional bar in Ballinamore.
Visited a few times last week. Nothing too much trouble. Put rugby and football game on when asked. The Guinness was lovely.
If you want a bar bar this it Jackie and Kathryn run a great pub with a warm welcome for their customers, good pub to watch sport or drop in in for a game or pool or darts or a chat.
Good friendly staff friendly place to enjoy a few drinks

Lovely quirky pub... no TV, no nonsense. Interesting crowd. Great for chatting and with excellent live music sessions at times. Nice burning stove for cold nights.
This bar had only just reopened recently. Very homely feel . Was having a traditional Irish music session when I was there. A good pint of Guinness
Brilliant night music was Brilliant great crack staff Brilliant all round great nite
Best bar on the planet. Awesome folk music on the Wednesday's. Very laid back and old style, great Guinness, large smoking section and there's a furnace right in the centre of the bar.
Great spot and great pint , Irish tradition still evident
Great pub but you would miss John Joe RIP

Great little bar. Nice and traditional exterior which may fool you. The inside has been renovated to a good standard and seems to be the place to be in Ballinamore on a Friday & Saturday night. Has a pool table and TV’s. Would definitely go back.
We were making our way up to Donegal and passed by this place …… it was so inviting we had to go in. A warm welcome and friendly conversation
Great pub in the heart of the town. Great atmosphere, pool, live music. Drink at a reasonable price
You could not find a better Irish pub in Leitrim as The Poor Scholar. Wonderful staff, amazing decor (complete with poor table, dart board, and beautiful bark garden), and perfect punters. Everything about this place is friendly. Thumbs up. The best pub in Ballinamore.
Lovely staff and friendly atmosphere. Called in on our way through Ballinamore and had a very nice cup of tea. Would imagine The Poor Scholar would be a great venue for a celebration.
