Lots of info on tour delivered with energy and passion. Quite a few steps to climb. Low headroom for tall people. Tour took an hour. Great view from the top of the lighthouse. Grounds to walk around with some exhibits, a cafe, a gift shop. Standard fare and nothing to fault. One of the most treacherous parts of the coastline in the world and hence a very old lighthouse also with great history and importance.
Absolutely brilliant! Our tour guide (whose name sadly escapes me) was an incredible fountain of knowledge, sharing fascinating facts with enthusiasm. Cheerful, engaging, and very skilled in his role, he made the entire experience enjoyable from start to finish. The visit was both entertaining and informative—definitely worth it and highly recommended.
A beautiful location! I loved the tour — the guide was a great storyteller, sharing lots of interesting information with a good sense of humor. The Fresnel lens is absolutely magical. It’s very relaxing to enjoy a coffee while taking in the stunning view of the cliffs. I also bought a lovely painting, made on slate, from a local artist who offers workshops — a wonderful souvenir from the visit.
Excellent tour, steeped in history. John (the guide) is a character and clearly passionate about his work. Small cafeteria with good food options. Gift shop. Good parking.
Fabulous spot. Arrived after the lighthouse had closed but loved walking about the area - the rocks, the views, the blow holes. A few people camping and parked up also. Nothing nearby for amenities - shops, toilets etc, if you are camping. Scenery is incredible.
Beautiful spot and great tour of the lighthouse. The tour lasts about 45 mins but it is well worth the time and the price of the ticket. There are lovely walks in the area and we spotted a couple of seals...or sea lions. The food at the place is good and the grounds are very well kept. We spent few hours there and enjoyed them.
Awesome experience. Amazing views and an amazing history lesson from our tour guide. John was fantastic and you can only hope he leads your group. The drive in is very beautiful as well. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Ireland.
Hook Head Lighthouse is a brilliant visit to a dramatic coastline, great views, and incredible history. As the oldest operating lighthouse in the world, it’s genuinely impressive and well worth the stop.

We (family of two adults and two teenagers) did the Sea Cave Kayaking experience with Dylan and Conor as our guides. The whole day was fantastic. The guides were both serious about our safety and great fun! Would highly recommend the Irish Experience run by the lovely Graham and Kimberly. We will be back.
I celebrated multiple birthdays on this sea cave kayaking tour. Every time was a differnet, yet fantastic experience. The most recent tour that I went on was brilliant. The tour guide Dylan was very informative, enthusiatic and funny. He shared a lot of interesting historical facts that I wasn't aware of. All in all, it was a great experience and I want to give a big thank you to the team. I had a special day thanks to all of you.
We loved every minute of this experience! Me and my husband + our two teenagers had so much fun with Emile and Rory! The variety of some history, learning about nature + the kayaking itself was excellent 👌🏼
High recommended! The tour was wonderful! Enough extreme, paddling, rest and fun from guides! I hope guys government will support you so you can build a base with hot shower, really need😉
I love going sea kayaking with this company. The owners are so down to earth and friendly, I have always enjoyed friendly, knowledgable and funny guides (we had Ruari and Dylan this trip) and the scenery is magical. The paddling is great exercise but not too difficult, the history and stories are very interesting and the kayaks are comfortable. I would highly recommend this experience no matter when you go - you will create the best memories and have a unique life experience. Book this as soon as you can!
Had a truly wonderful time with The Irish Experience in Wexford! The sea kayaking was absolutely magical, peaceful, scenic, and full of hidden gems along the coast. The guides were warm, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience feel both safe and fun. A perfect way to connect with nature and soak in Ireland’s beauty. Highly recommend!
Had the best experience out kayaking this weekend - would highly recommend The Irish Experience. Our group was a small group of 9 which was perfect for us beginners. Our guides Ruairi & Shay were absolutely super too. So helpful & fun which helped everyone relax. Ruairi made the trip for us to be honest & we cannot wait to come back for another tour. Thanks guys!
The kajak Tour was a great experience, we had really nice tour guides and even though it was kind of hard work cause you need arm muscels, we hat a great time field with funny stories and hot chocolate and a stone with a hole....

The two day adirondack course was a fantastic, fun and super rewarding way to spend a weekend. Tommy is a true master of the craft and a real gentleman. And to boot you come away with a fantastic piece of furniture to have for decades. Can’t recommend highly enough
I completed the Trug course today and I’m absolutely delighted with the whole experience. From start to finish, it was incredibly engaging and informative. Tommy, our instructor, was exceptional — he has a real gift for teaching. He explained everything clearly and patiently, making sure we understood not just what to do, but why we were doing it. His use of visual demonstrations really brought everything to life and made it easier to grasp the concepts, especially for someone like me who learns best by seeing things in action. What I appreciated most was how approachable and supportive Tommy was throughout the course. No question felt too small, and he always took the time to ensure everyone was comfortable and confident before moving on. I’ve come away from the course with so much more knowledge, and most importantly, the confidence to put it into practice. I would absolutely recommend this course to anyone looking to learn in a friendly, effective environment.
A most enjoyable 2 day course under the excellent supervision and guidance of a very skilled craftsman, Tommy. Great meeting new people, learning new skills, and leaving with a proud piece of furniture that will last a lifetime. I would highly recommend any of the courses.
Just completed my first woodspirit carving course with Bevel Furniture. A great day, with clear and helpful instruction from Tommy. Loved every minute - the hours just flew by. Would thoroughly recommend a course from here.
This is wonderful experience. Tommy is a great teacher and instructor. His love for the craft inspires you . It's incredible what you can achieve at his workshops. My wife did the Adirondack chair with him last year. It now has a partner
Thoroughly enjoyed the 2 days spent in Wexford working on the Adirondack Chair. Not only is the course ideal for beginners but also for people with some experience like myself. Tommy is a wonderful craftsman and teacher, and makes the course engaging, enjoyable and easy to follow. Would highly recommend this for anyone, beginners and experienced people alike. A great weekend!
We signed up to the Adirondack Chair course as a family to celebrate our Dads birthday, and what a gift to walk away with! It was so cool to see it all come together over the two days. Tommy was a patient and considerate instructor with a great sense of humour. Thanks so much for everything. Can’t recommend it enough!
The facility at Bevel Furniture school is very crafty, with lots of old machines and tools on display to enrich the environs. The main workshop room is highly organised to give the students a perfect space to socialise and engage with other participants. The planning and smooth flow of the instruction is a credit to Tommy’s long experience of helping diverse adults in exploring the skills of carpentry and importantly, making a beautiful object that they will treasure. Tommy is an excellent communicator and indeed entertainer. One’s life and memories will be enriched by signing up for one of the many courses on offer. Brilliant…. Go and enjoy!

Lovely area, peaceful. They made a walkway path around the castle & garden so it's a great place to walk around and appreciate the castle and area.
A nice castle in lovely grounds, the castle cant be accessed as it has a fence all around it, making it impossible to photograph but to its rear is a nice park and walkway. It has many nice flowers beds to its front but when fenced off there is little point in visiting, cheers
Classic small castle with an impressive tower. It’s closed up so you can’t enter and no tours just a site to walk around
The castle iwas surrounded by fence so we couldn't get in or close to it. There is a green area around and a wood walk. We took part in the traditional August Norman festival. It is a small family friend event where you can buy local food and hand made gifts and also can try archery or take some photos with dressed up organizers. The kids had a fancy dress competition and playground for enjoyment. It was great fun.
The castle is behind a mesh fence so is not accessible to the public. But it is a very cool little building, with some cool grounds to walk around. And Fathard itself has some nice pubs and places to eat once your visit is all done.
Great little park on the main road.
Lovely mini garden and gravelled path walk through wooded area.
Nice quiet little park in the centre of fethard. Very well looked after gardens
