Bucket list experience in the most gorgeous location I could dream of. Loved my horse Rocco. Exactly what I was hoping for. Wonderful staff, all the cast and characters on the property.
Awesome! and teeming with life and love, for horse and human alike This proud and wonderful stable will give tou the rides of your life, combining real safety with real adventure in the most heartful way. Island View Riding brings ALL the good, i saw, to where it counts most: I feel that Their horses are happy. Their respect for nature encompasses ALL (ours and theirs and the lands included) The crew is skilled and welcoming. The guided horse rides they offer in the surrounding landscape are packed with action, relaxation and variation. Thank you, Island View: you are THE BEST
An absolute awesome three days at Island View Riding Stables Family event comprising family of four and two grandfathers. Riding experience spanning from “been riding my whole life and have my own horse” to “first time ever on a horse”. Ursula assessed and paired us with the perfect horses. We had an absolute blast. The three more experienced did two full day trails in addition to the first day. Well ridden horses, positive and skilful staff, and Ursula was just amazing. We highly recommend this riding venue and hope we will be back in close future.
Me and my teenage daughter had 4 great days that overshot our expectations! We had expected nice riding, but the amazing scenery was a bonus we were not prepared for.The long beaches gives opportunities for cantering that are impossible around a city where we live. I am a mid level rider myself and after the first to me pretty scary canters I felt completely safe because the horses are so calm, experienced and used to the landscape, the types of rides and each other. They are really well kept. My daughter who is a much better rider than me also got the opportunity to do a free gallop on a racing beach and had the time of her life. Cantering in the woods was also super exciting when we had to duck for the twigs and branches. As the horses were so safe I felt completely safe whatever we did.The day trips were quite different, some with more action, some longer ones with a lot of walking and more focus on the scenery. The farm is lovely and with a really family feel. If you expect to have everything prepared for you before and after riding and just be there for being serviced this might not be the place for you. You will be expected to help out with tacking and taking care of the horses both before and after riding. To me this is an important part of horsemanship and a way to get a feel for the mood of the horse at the beginning of the day, but I know not everybody agrees and have other plans than washing off a sweaty horse after a full day of riding. I truly enjoyed the place with all the chicken, dogs and even a miniature Shetland cross breed around. It is not an industrial stable like some others we have visited. We had a great time!
10/10 recommend Currently on day 4 out of 5 riding here, came from the states. So far have ridden Romeo and Blakeney. I LOVE them both. Excellent guides, amazing trails. Horses very well cared for ❤️
Visited Island View riding stables during COVID. They have great practices in place to ensure the safety of everyone. Hand sanitisers to clean your hands, the saddles are sprayed down to ensure they are clean. I have never been horse riding, and I felt very comfortable while on the horse. The guides were lovely, and very helpful. I felt like I could of been judged as I have no experience but Island View riding stables is not like that at all! They are very welcoming and it is a very fun place to experience horse riding. The horses are extremely well trained and will respond to commands by the staff, which made me feel extra safe. After finishing our trip we had to leave the stables through another exit due to covid and a one way system being in place. There was a lot of other horses in stables and they all look like that are cared for, to a very high level. I would highly recommend Island View riding stables to anyone looking to experience the fun of horse riding!
I had such a fantastic experience at Island View this weekend, great horses, facilities and the staff were very helpful and encouraging. I really enjoyed the challenge of the long beach ride at Streedagh and the Island will certainly be returning soon. Thank you Ursula and Joy!
Incredible experience here, chose the 90mins experience, which we thought was great value at €45 p/p and over two hours altogether. The establishment is an honest-to-goodness stables, aged and all. The staff were friendly, and our guide Julia, from Austria, was very helpful. Cantering and galloping the local beaches and the views were beautiful. Would definitely recommend.

Very well presented ! The presentation and demonstrations gave a wonderful explanation of history, historical sheep farming, wool use and border dog history and presentation. It is well worth it. The farmer and family were available to engage in questions and answers. It was warm and inviting , and most of all educational. I left with a better understanding of sheep farming and hisory.
Thank you for sharing your rich history and Love for your business! also This Family does amazing work by giving rare sheep that are almost extinct the chance to survive! This is a wonderful experience and I recommend it to you and everyone reading this!
Fascinating morning watching Martin & his sheepdog Mist herding the sheep. Martin was very educational and we learned a lot about the sheep and the local area. Really enjoyed watching Mist’s skills and her response to Martin’s whistle. Would definitely recommend, rain or shine as the viewing area is covered 🌞🌧️🐑
This is one of the best experiences of our entire Irish holiday. It was incredible to learn about how the sheepdogs manage and direct the sheep. It was both informative and entertaining. A must visit experience! We’d highly recommend it.
I cannot overstate how amazing this demonstration is. First, Martin and Trish are hilarious and incredibly friendly. Second, the demonstration is impressive, but also extremely informative. We learned about the area, about the skill of sheepdogs, about the local farming economy, and so much more. You can even book online! I think the most impressive thing is the fact that the owners participate in the preservation of rare breeds of domestic sheep that have lost their economic usefulness, to preserve a living part of human history. It's an amazing cause and an amazing experience. Also, be charmed by the greeter, Jasper.
We enjoyed the Atlantic Sheepdogs when we visited with Connect the Dots tour. It was very interesting learning all about how Martin Feeney trains his dog to corral the sheep. His dog did an excellent job. There were many sheep that he had to heard. Martin explained all the different commands to us that he was using. He also explained a day in the life of the sheep and the sheepdog. I would highly recommend stopping by for a visit!
Buy tickets in advance. You’ll be outside along the fence watching the demonstration which is incredible. The presentation is extremely informative and engaging. This is great for all ages.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “The Sheep Were Outnumbered… and Outsmarted.” 🐑🦮 We stopped by Atlantic Sheepdogs in Sligo, Ireland thinking we’d see a few cute dogs chase sheep around a field. What we actually witnessed was a canine masterclass in strategy, teamwork, and sheep psychology. I’m convinced these Border Collies could run a Fortune 500 company if given Wi-Fi and a conference room. The shepherd was hilarious, informative, and clearly adored his dogs (as he should — they’re geniuses). Watching the dogs respond to the whistle commands faster than I respond to text messages was humbling. 10/10 would trust these dogs to manage my schedule, round up my kids, or negotiate my next car purchase. Don’t miss this stop — it’s equal parts heartwarming, educational, and downright entertaining.

The nicest place for swimming with kislds and picnic. Stunning, peaceful place with warm:) ocean, as it could be. Although a lot of people on sunny days, but parking space is enough. Enjoy the place!
Streedagh Beach is truly a hidden gem on the Sligo coastline. The beach itself is absolutely stunning — long, clean, and surrounded by beautiful natural scenery. It’s an ideal spot for a peaceful walk, enjoying the sea breeze, or simply taking in the vast views of the Atlantic. Whether you're into photography, nature, or just looking for a quiet escape, this beach offers a wonderful experience. However, getting to the beach can be a bit challenging. The access roads leading to Streedagh are very narrow, making it quite difficult for two cars to pass each other at the same time. If you're not used to driving on tight rural roads, you might find it a bit stressful, especially during busy times. Additionally, the parking area could really use some improvement. It’s not well-constructed or clearly marked, and during peak hours it can be quite chaotic. A more organized parking layout would definitely enhance the overall experience for visitors. That said, once you make it to the beach, it’s absolutely worth it. The natural beauty and tranquility of Streedagh more than make up for the minor inconveniences. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Sligo, just be prepared for a tight drive in and out!
Gorgeous & very windy. Was fun to explore. Chilly with a fantastic view when we went. I highly recommend even just walking the beach, was very relaxing. We got to watch some rain blow in. Sept 10, 2024.
Streedagh Beach is absolutely stunning — one of the most beautiful beaches in Sligo! It’s a fantastic spot for surfing, with great waves and incredible views. The beach feels really natural and unspoiled, perfect for a long walk or just soaking in the scenery. One important tip: make sure to check the tide times before you go. I nearly got caught out when the tide came in, so it’s definitely something to be aware of. Aside from that, it’s an amazing place and well worth a visit!
Beautiful beach with amazing views
Terrific coastline , great for long walks and runs. The water was a good swimming temperature. Only negative is the smell, could be from the seaweed that washes on sure....
Seems dangerous for swimming . There were only surfing going on when there but 5 stars for kids playing in the sand. Can borrow sand buckets and just put them back when finished
beautiful beach with lots of sand, wonderful sunsets, and clear water.

First timers and non-locals here and as kids were off on the Xmas holidays, it was mental busy which put pressure on parking spaces (we parked on the road). €10 per child in and adults are free. Plenty of seating for weary adults. Go karts are extra: €2 per child. We got a cappuccino, Americano and a very decent sized Snickers slice for €10. Staff on the ball clearing tables, serving food and coffees. We stayed about 3 hours and there didn't seem to be a time limit. Highly recommended to tire the kids out.
5 Star Fun is a fantastic place for kids and parents alike! The play area is clean, safe, and full of fun, keeping kids entertained for hours. Parents can relax with great coffee and snacks while the kids play, and there’s tasty food available for them too. It’s also a great spot to meet other parents. Friendly staff and a well-maintained space make it a top choice for family fun. Highly recommend!
A wonderful amenity in grange. Our kids look forward to visiting every time we’re in the area. Coffee is exceptional for a kids activity centre. Food is good quality too. Reasonable prices. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Could not recommend more.
Brilliant for parties and for family days out. Michael and all the staff are always there to welcome us and provide a wonderful service to children and their families. For me as a parent there are no blind spots in the play area itself, We can watch our kids by moving around from floor and get to them quickly if there’s any issue. Good food and coffee / bakery, toilets well serviced. Toddler play area is particularly nice and has had many updates and adaptions over the years, decent ball pond, large Lego bricks, sensory spin items. There’s a disco room for parties if requested but we prefer the go karts. Covers all the bases really and so accessible from Sligo / Leitrim / Donegal and those visiting North West.
Kids had a brilliant time here. So much to do and staff were lovely. Great way to pass a couple of hours.
10 euros per kid but they won't charge anything for adults. Food will be served. Staff are very nice. Gokart 2 euro per trip (adults can sit with kids on the go cart cars) or 6 euros for 4 trips. Wash rooms are good. Staff are helpful. Ideal for birthday parties or day for kids. You can take your kids without prior booking.
We absolutely love 5 Star Fun and visit every week! Michael and the whole team are always so welcoming and friendly — they really go above and beyond to make sure everyone has a great time. The place is always spotless, safe, and full of energy. It's clear how much pride they take in making it a fun experience for families. Our kids look forward to it every single week, and so do we. Thanks to Michael and all the staff for creating such a fantastic place — it really is 5-star service every time!
I’ve had 2 parties in 5 Star Fun in the past fortnight and let me tell you that this place and all the staff take the stress of organising a party off your shoulders! From the moment you walk through the door you’re greeted by the friendly staff and you have your own designated party host. The frame itself is AMAZING according to the kid’s especially the new addition of a zip line! They have a lovely restaurant/cafe with hot food, coffee, cakes, scones etc the icing on the cake were the Go-karts the kids love this added bonus. The party room is really bright & spacious and my little lady was so happy to get sitting on the throne chair as she called it! The disco room was a firm favourite too!! It really is the one stop shop for parties 5/5 Stars 🌟 thank you to Michael & all the staff for everything !! Would highly recommend Five Star Fun 🤩
