Spectacular chasm of waterfalls, it can get very crowded but it gives you enough angles to take beautiful jaw-dropping pictures. Depending on the wind it can get very wet all around, so bring a waterproof jacket and trousers!
The most beautiful waterfall you can see is in Iceland, and it is recommended that you go to see the waterfall by private car or rent one. Because if you come to see this waterfall with a tour, you don't have much time and you have little time!
It’s amazing! Stunning falls and canyon. Lots of different spots to view the falls from - definitely worth making the effort to check them all out😉
Three elements were added in the making of this beautiful Waterfall, black rock, white water and blue sky. Each element contributes to make a perfect yet stunning and breathtaking view.
We visited near twilight - what a magnificent waterfall running over a chasm created by the seismic shift in the tectonic plates in Þingvellir National Park - the light cast a rainbow across the falls, just beautiful and awe inspiring nature - it's an easy walk from either the lower or upper car parks and there are facilities at the top one... Four flights of easy steps to access the lower platform, but pull-on grampons a must in wet, frozen, icy weather!
One of the most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland. You can see the tremendous volume of water up close. It is easily accessible on foot. Parking is free, and on site there is also a small restaurant, a public restroom, and a souvenir shop.
Few times have I ever been as cold as I was at Gullfoss Falls — but it was absolutely worth it! The falls were stunning in January, and I wouldn’t have missed the experience for anything. I’m already looking forward to visiting again, whether in winter or summer. The on-site gift shop and café make the visit even better, giving you a cozy place to warm up after taking in the breathtaking views.
Spectacular. 97 steps to get to the observation area closer to the falls IF you want to feel the water droplets or strong winds. It's also very windy and much colder at the lower level

Beautiful place for free. Just don't park in the first car park because you will have to pay. From the geyser you can drive just 11 mins and you will see a stunning waterfall (free parking)
First parking lot requires paying. The scenery was amazing seeing the bubbling geysers. Definitely worth walking to the top if you're able to for the view.
Haukadalur is definitely worth a visit! It’s amazing to see the geysers up close—especially when they erupt. The whole area is full of geothermal activity, and it’s fascinating to walk around and watch the steam rising from the ground.
it’s magical. Exciting and easily accessible. Winter time and you have to be careful while walking. They have caution boards everywhere there. But a must visit if you visiting Iceland.
Looks like a Martian environment. It smells like sulfur of course. This park is crowded but worth a bit of hassle. It’s a short and beautiful drive from the city. There is no entrance fee or guide needed. You just wander through and catch some of the very active geysers as they shoot up from the Earth. I have not seen anything like it.
There’s a little steep slope uphill to walk. But it’s good for your exercise on your body for just 30 minutes trekking. Hot fountains are spotted in places and become one of the attraction spots for tourists. You can enjoy the fountain splashing up in the sky to 15 meters high!
You can hike around the area , in about 30 minutes you can cover everything, just stay on the designated path so you don’t get splashed with boiling water or slip in it . Occasionally you’ll see water bursting out of the ground very high .
Very busy, touristy place, but you can see why. What An amazing sight of nature to see the geysirs. One piece of advice is to not blink as you might miss it and have to wait another 6 minutes or so til the next blast! Or, if you are like me, you will watch this over and over again anyway. It’s brilliant! The amenities were great at this location too, clean bathrooms.

Had a day with the kids that nothing was planned and stumbled across this place. They loved it (11 &12 yrs old) but definitely geared towards younger kids. It is a play place for kids with animals to see and pet. There was a play house with kittens as well as an area you could hold a bunny or guinea pig. We were there for a few hours but could definitely see younger kids playing even longer.
My kids (6 and 11) absolutely loved their time here! From petting and getting up close with the animals to bouncing around and playing mini golf — there were plenty of fun activities to keep them entertained. The food options were a bit limited, but everything we tried tasted great. I’d definitely come back when we’re in Iceland again with the kids. Highly recommend for families!
One of the few things we found for the kid in Iceland. Also a stopping place on the way from Brúarhlöð to Gljufrabui. The place is very disappointing. Not maintained. The animals are so poor and most of them were not in their places. Even in an aquarium, most of the fish were dead. shocking A waste of time and money.
One of our unexpected stops in Iceland turned out to be the gem we will remember most fondly . We had the opportunity to meet the patriarch of the family that started the farm nearly 40 years ago, growing vegetables he shared with us the journey to now what is a restaurant and petting zoo for families. His stories where amazing (great Trump joke) God put us there to meet him and he left us with warmth in our hearts and a fondness for Icelanders Thank you from the Canadians
We recently visited with our children and left with mixed feelings. At first, we didn’t mind paying the entrance fee, but later we were disappointed. I usually don’t write reviews, but this time I feel I must. Upon entering the area it’s clear that the outdoor spaces are well maintained and pleasant. We first went into the indoor garden, where everything was clean and the animals had water and food. The children especially loved the parrots and turtles, so we spent a lot of time there. According to the information, it should be possible to pet rabbits and guinea pigs. However, when we moved on to the next room our initial excitement faded, not because of the space itself, but because of the behavior and attitude of the staff responsible for handling the animals. We sat on a bench and waited to see if someone would offer us an animal to hold. One employee was pouring water on a rabbit from a drinking bottle, another was running between rooms spraying water at others and yet another just briefly looked up from his phone when we entered, only to return to his entertainment and completely ignore us. We couldn’t understand why they were even there and wondered whether they were actually being paid for this. It felt more like a children’s playground than a petting zoo. After a few minutes we took a guinea pig out of the cage ourselves and none of the staff seemed to care, they were too busy with their own fun. We briefly held a rabbit, took a few photos and decided to leave. The food was good, basic fast food and the service was friendly. The outdoor garden with pigs, goats, and other animals was nice and well-kept. The children especially enjoyed the jumping bubble. However, another unpleasant surprise awaited us in the cat house. There was food scattered on the floor, the cats had no water, and their litter box clearly hadn’t been cleaned it smelled awful. The ground was littered with trash and covered in cat litter. The employee sitting there obviously didn’t care and looked like she was already mentally at home. In conclusion, I have to point out the clear lack of interest from the zoo’s manager, who clearly doesn’t care how the staff in the indoor garden and cat house behave or that we were completely ignored and made to feel like an inconvenience. In terms of cleanliness, both indoor and outdoor areas were very nice and the restaurant was fine (though this place is mainly about the animals), but the way the staff behaved and their arrogance is something we’ve never experienced before. We’re not planning to visit Iceland again anytime soon, but if we do, we’ll steer clear of Slakki and find a better activity
Good place to visit with family and friends to see some live animals. They have lamb, pigs, goat's, Turkey, chicken, dogs, cat's and many more. Restaurant with fast food. Play area's with for the kids.
This was kind of depressing. The turtles had no stimulation. The pink bird was all by itself in a tiny cage with zero stimulation. They're was another large bird in another cage also all but itself. The goats looked like they could use brushing. Their coat was incredibly lumpy. The turkeys were from a breeding farm, nothing like real turkeys in the wild. None of the animals had any real stimulation. A cage and nothing doesn't make for a healthy happy environment.
If you are traveling with young kids, you’ll want to make time for this! It’s less than 90 minutes from Reykjavik and along the route of many other attractions. The kids can hold kittens, puppies, and bunnies, see baby pigs, cows, birds and other animals. There is mini golf, a play area, and a trampoline. The food is good and the price is affordable. For two adults and one child it was about $35 US and we easily spent 2+ hours here and could have stayed longer but we all needed a nap! Kids 2 and under are free.
