Plenty parking, easy access into shop and reception, very pleasant helpful young ladies ready to explain everything. My wife had a mobility scooter, and the paths etc were wide and easygoing. We spent over 3hrs and the gardens were amazing and very well maintained. We had a lovely wander around.Would recommend
Really nice place well worth a visit some excellent and interesting botanical specemins, and very well maintained. It's good st see young plants coming on as well as the established old ones. The entry fee was very reasonable, as was the tea room. The labeling of plants could have been better for the horticulturally curious. I think they're missing a trick not selling many of the interesting plants you see in the garden in the garden centre. I'd have loved a snow gum or southern beech.
I wish this was closer to home, we happened to visit in particularly good weather that will only have worked in their favour, but the gardens are stunning and very well kept. All of the staff that we ran into (either on the grounds or in their shop) have been very friendly and helpful. It's worth noting that they don't allow dogs in the garden (although they allow you to enter and exit as you please) so any dogs would need to stay with the car, there are parts of the carpark with shade. Mobility around the gardens is pretty accessible though there are a few places with steps that, if avoided, mean you'd miss out a whole section of the gardens. In short, it's well worth a visit only dogs and wheels may be an issue
What a beautiful and fascinating place this is. Positioned on the gulf stream, it is full of unusual plantings, including gigantic gunneras and forests of tree ferns. We visited in mid July, when admittedly, the weather was incredible, but did not see one plant that looked sorry for itself. You always see plants past their best in gardens, but not here. The ground staff are all friendly and approachable, with a wealth of knowledge. Being part of the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh, Logan holds collections of many unusual plants. The cafe has some great food and cakes, and the staff all smile (imagine that)!! I would definitely recommend a visit.
Allow yourself an absolute minimum of two hours, but do stay longer. Beautiful gardens all set in fabulous Dumfries and Galloway. There are wheelchair/scooter friendly routes ( always check in advance ) Thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
Fantastic garden with amazing colours and variety within a peaceful setting and well designed style. Friendly cafe staff with plentiful seating and tasty produce. Picnic tables are a fair walk from the car park it should be noted. Represented good value for money for the £16.80 entrance fee we paid for 3 tickets (with BBC GW pass), though am quite sure we would not have paid the full £27 otherwise.
Cozy, easy, meandering walk through mature, diverse, gardens and greenhouses. Well-situated restaurant with windows overlooking the gardens serving a full lunch menu. Lovely helpful ladies in the gift shop. Definitely worth visiting. The drive along the Rhinns of Galloway coastline is as much a treat as the destination!
Seriously lovely place to visit. The gardens are spectacular and we did see the red squirrel! The staff in the garden cafe were absolutely lovely as well. Thoroughly recommend it.

We spent about 30 minutes here, watching the fish being fed and hearing about the history of the place. The turbot was our favourite - we weren't expecting fish to have such funny personalities! Highly recommend stopping off if you're visiting the area.
This is pretty much unique, with a long history attached. Worth the money to hear about how it came about and evolved into what can be seen today. The fish are important actors in the story and certainly expect to be fed by anyone walking beside them. The big pond is filled from the sea and the original cave houses tanks with smaller fish and crustations and starfish. The attendant is a skilful storyteller and makes the whole history of the place interesting. Don't forget the bathing house with its own outdoor pool is also worth a look. We spent about an hour there, we saw the pool being refilled, the fish fed and all the side tanks explained as to their inhabitants. The entrance is through a rough parking area with a toilet and along a rough track to a small parking area beside the building. no parking bays but enough space for several cars to allow turning.
This was an interesting pond which I had never seen anything like it before! There is a lot of history with the ponds creation and of course it operation today as an active fish pond where you can get up close and really see the fish. There was also some smaller tanks holding crabs and lobster as well as other smaller fish and crabs. All very interesting and worth the small fee to enter. At the time it was £12 for family 2 adults and up to 4 children per ticket and £5 per adult and £3.50 per child for single tickets. There is a shop and small museum on site as well along with an old tidal bath. The road in was a bit bumpy so wouldn’t recommend driving along it in low sprung cars but it would be a short walk from the carpark. It isn’t a suitable site for wheel chairs as the pond has stairs leading down to it.
What a quirky but fabulous little find. Very interesting history and stunning scenery. Well worth a visit.
We visited here August 2025. A lovely place set in a stunning location. Staff were very friendly and helpful, full of lots of information and answered any questions. An amazing place to visit if you’re in the area! Wow
Interesting place, you'd never know it was there. A lot of history, the guide explained it's origins. A hidden gem and paying the entrance fee helps preserve it, which for me was worth it.
Really worth a wee visit!! The pond is down some steps leading from the cottage/shop The lady in the shop was very pleasant and helpful. There's a few different parts to this place Shop, Small museum a cave and a bathing pool The fish are amazing!! One large cod ( not me) was very tame, and kept coming up out of the water a tad , looking around It's possible to touch the fish too , great for big and wee children I'm never eating Cod and chips again 😂. Think I made a new friend
What a friendly, informative ,passionate and welcoming guy. Definitely worth a visit. Saw some great fish and other marine creatures.

We spent a lovely few hours walking around the lovely gardens.. they were well maintained and were a pleasure to look at.. the cafe was lovely you could sit outside or in..the staff were very pleasant and helpful..food was well presented and very tasty ..would recommend anybody to visit.
Lovely peaceful little walk around with the dogs. Honest box payment of £5 per person. Under 16s are free
If you're expecting formal gardens you'll be disappointed but you can enjoy woodland walk around the garden. We were a little disappointed that there wasn't a detailed map so it was difficult to get through because there were no clear marked paths (we guessed!). There is a toilet (but it hadn't been cleaned in months!) and our dog enjoyed the garden (which isn't possible next door at the Botanic gardens!).
Beautiful gardens Lovely tea room
Great place to visit if you want a quiet stroll around a beautiful woodland garden. The rhododendrons were stunning as were the many huge trees. It’s dog friendly and there was no one else there at the time so it was lovely and quiet too. Like others have said, it could do with a few more seats around and the single toilet was ok but for the price it was perfectly adequate. Being next door to the botanical garden is a bonus too as you can access this via the drive out of Logan House (separate entrance fee applies and botanical garden isn’t dog friendly 🙁)
Lovely few hours spent wandering around the gardens with our dog. Loved looking at all the magnificent plants and huge trees. Very peaceful with hardly any other visitors. Not the same facilities as other larger, well known gardens but still beautiful gardens. Will definitely return if in the area.
Very charming walk. The drive up to garden is perfectly functional. Why bods have complained about the drive i don't know. Motorhomes would have no difficulty usi ng road. Best of all dogs are allowed, unlike the botanic garden. Well worth a visit, only ask for a donation.
Brilliant little gardens and peaceful to walk around. Be better if they worked on honesty box per car rather than person as gets quite expensive very fast.. Amazing wildlife and plants.
