I have to give this place 5 stars. If i could give more I would. It's absolutely stunning. Went today with the in laws and our kids. Got grub and there wasn't a single crumb left on the plates. By anyone. Food was absolutely divine. Decor inside pub was absolutely stunning. Spotless clean. Great selection. Very very reasonable prices. And absolutely delicious. Kids can be fussy but even they devoured everything. The girls there working were an absolute pleasure. Really nice, really friendly, an absolute asset to the place. A lovely atmosphere. Showing all the matches on a tele that is humongous. Outdoor seating area absolutely beautiful also. Very kid friendly. High chars available, plenty space. Great kids menu. 10 of us eat today for 60 euro. You wouldn't get that anywhere else. Amazing new owners. I didn't get a chance to speak with but overheard conversations about how fantastic of a job they are and also off the inlaws. So absolutely amazing place. Well worth the visit and will one million percent be back. Also wheelchair accessible and wheelchair ♿ friendly as is it buggy friendly.
Absolutely disgraceful false review left by John T for the goalpost. The men and some of their wives are renting the upstairs apartments. These hardworking Portuguese are employed on fishing boats and in the local hotel. The goalpost is a great bar and serves the community well, it's difficult for it to compete against fancy extravagant venues nearby but it's always busy during the holiday seasons and can't be faulted.
Fab scorcrrcher of a weather so it was absutely amazing having a quick meal and 2 pints, the young croud overflowing, the place is great to experience, go for it!
This was a great bar and 5 stars when the new owners took it over at first but now they got greedy and decided to take government money and are housing male immigrants upstairs people were/are scared to bring there kids or teenage daughters to these premises during the summer months… it’s a shame as it was a nice spot for a drink or a bite to eat while watching a match… greed does horrible things too people he should of put the locals first before bringing these immigrant males into the area
Great bar ,great staff, great food and an atmosphere to match.
Nice bar. Good staff. Pleasant surroundings for a drink. The locals friendly and chatty if you want.
Lovely beer garden. Good food and drinks and nice atmosphere. Dogs allowed in the beer garden.
Typical village pub with a good gathering of friendly local people. Disappointed to learn group of visitors received a complaint about breastfeeding a left the premises without finishing their drinks. The beer & coffee was good, the service prompt & efficient but lacking in charm.

Ballymaloe Craft Fair was an amazing experience. They happen every year nearing Christmas. A variety of small shops can be found with all unique craft items, mostly everything organic and handmade. It's also a very good place for exquisite honey, lavender products and also various wine. They give samples of almost everything. The whole place was arranged and organized beautifully with a festive theme. There's also a Lego workshop for kids. Would definitely recommend this visit.
Went to Ballymaloe on the 13th of May for a small weekend festival. My only regret is that I didn't take enough pictures but enjoyed so much of what was going on. It was a friendly for the family and people who love to get out and enjoy the positive atmosphere. Foods from Sushi, pizza, lobster rolls, the ice latte with carmel was so good, the Arts and crafts from Black Smith, wood work, fashionable clothes and a variety of Alcoholic drinks from Gins, Meads and so on. Live music with different artists from a 3 man jazz band to a solo artist on guitar it was a wonderful time. I Diffently recommend it for next time.
The weather put a damper on it. There was no place to buy food on setup day until late in the afternoon.
Very nice venue, lighting and seating very comfortable
So… we went to the Ballinasloe Christmas Craft Fair… and found a large choice of booths and stalls with hand made items and food. Nice. Only thing… charging 8€ each person (not by car, by person) for just getting in and get „the allowance“ for spending money afterwards is… an interesting concept. There are enough willing to pay as it seems but honestly we wouldn’t go again, there are other good craft fairs around (like Marina Markets Cork or Mountain Viewbetween Waterford and Kilkenny) that are free or much cheaper…
Have attended few events, great venue, was at Tom Crean show there lately. Brilliant show but couple of minor issues. I.m not a fan of getting drink in plastic glasses but think it should be introduced as people knocking over glasses was distracting, also some member of staff should have told the individual that could be heard talking to stop. It should not have taken the person on stage to raise this issue.
Well worth a visit for the Christmas Markets in November.
Stunning place. Amazing event today for dogs. Clinically well organised. The most beautiful energy all day. Thanks guys 💛🐶🤗
