This makes the easy, mini rapids more fun to navigate and eliminates the need for any portages, which can be necessary in places during long, hot dry spells in August. If there's plenty of water, then the best descent is from Montclus, which takes you through the nearby gorge. We were lucky enough to see an osprey catch a fish in this wilder section. It's also entertaining traversing the weirs! The family run an efficient service with collections by minibus at set times at the end of your stage. The HQ is at Goudargues. We've just been back again - must be more than 10 years now, and got a lovely welcome. Good fun and great exercise, with bars nearby for a restorative beer in Goudargues. Highly recommended.
