Lovely basilica in the centre of Aspe
(Translated by Google) We located this beautiful basilica in Aspe, in Plaza Mayor n*6, being the most representative building in the town. Its style is Valencian Levantine Baroque and its construction was carried out in different phases. It was started in 1650, by the Genoese architect Frencesc Verde until Pere Quintana replaced him in 1663, concluding the works 11 years later in 1674. Between 1682 and 1684, the sculptor Nicolás de Bussi created the main façade and the side façades, with Saint John the Baptist on the right and Saint Teresa on the left. The construction of the bell tower and the dome is attributed to Lorenzo de Capuli between 1729 and 1737.
