A Gem in the Eifel! Get here early in the day! A long strip of parking lines a side of the lake with backup parking lots in the fields a few minutes walk away. 2€ parking for the day with an attendant at entrance. The Naturbad Pulvarmaar has a reasonable entry price for the day. You can enjoy coffee, cake, lunch & beer on the patio without an entry fee. Non-motorized boats & Paddle boats are for rent outside of the entry as well. Clean facilities include changing rooms, lockers, showers & bathrooms. A “kiddy pool” for the littles to splash about & a waist-deep pool for the older children. The pretty “volcano lake” with fresh, cool water has two entrances for swimming. A floating platform with a diving board & a high dive are a short swim away. The natural “bubbles” keep you afloat easier. Lifeguards on duty. Ample grass space to lay your claim to include a stretch in front of the Maar along with an uphill field. Tree shade is available but you’ll want to arrive early to stake your claim. A nude spot is also in the upper area & tucked to the side. Coolers & food are allowed in along with inflatables for the water. The cafe/bar has a simple menu of brats, burgers, fries etc. drinks and bottled beer. Beer glass by request. Even at it’s busiest, packed with people on the lawn, the water always has room & doesn’t feel crowded somehow. A beautiful day out & an experience in the Eifel not to be missed.
Parking was easy. You have to pay an entry fee, but this gives you access to toilets, showers and changing rooms. Great place for swimming and relaxing. The kids loved the pool.
Excellent. Amazing place. Well kept secret. Beautiful lake, boat rental available, parking and a small "beach" area with 2 small pools. Diving board also available.
Very beautiful place!
This beautiful lake in an extinct volcano is impressive, especially on a sunny day. Wild swimming, small boats and a basic cafe/restaurant with a lido complete the picture. Weekends can be busy but there is usually enough space to park a car.
Traumhaft🤩 We acclimatised to the cold water first in the baby pool (had a toddler with us) before taking the plunge in the Lake - heaven! There's a slide you can also use to access the water, plus a pontoon with diving board. The main swimming area is sectioned off from the rest of the lake, but you can swim in the whole lake, just need to watch out for the pleasure boats (which you can hire at very reasonable rates), SUP users and anglers, but there's plenty of space for everyone in the serene setting. Large areas of grass to sunbathe on, which did get pretty full (school summer holidays + beautiful weather). Only downside I found, was there was no baby changing facilities - normally not a problem, but can be embarrassing🙈
I'm 76 now but still remembered the name of this amazing Lake from around 1966 - I know 55 years plus! It was beautiful, quite breathtaking (almost literally), and I had slipped away from Immerather maar - close by. I swam leisurely around near the edge and the water was warm and soothing - so I thought "I've been swimming for a few days at Immerather Maar, I'm confident of my stamina again now - I'll swim across". I set off and all was marvellous, blue skies, smell of the lake and the trees, and I relaxed - but suddenly, before I was half way across, I moved into extremely cold water and got cramp badly in one leg, and then the other. I fought the panic and with some frightful effort managed to get on my back and breathe, and fighting the cramps I skulled backwards till I reached warmer water again. It was still a fight trying to relax enough so that I didn't panic, cramp up more and drown - but once I got back to the shore I vowed never to be so arrogant again. I had no life jacket, no accompanying friend and certainly no rescue boat there (in those days)!. A beautiful, idyllic spot, but beware the cold currents!
Nice cold clear water! €4,- entree for adults and €2,- for kids. There is also a swimming pool and a slide into te lake. You can also eat here!

We took part in a great farm tour and learned a lot. Very friendly family atmosphere. Very clean and highly professional. Happy animals. Excellent products! We have felt very well and will come back again. Thank you very much!
We visited the Vulkanhof this morning with our 2 children. Produces are great and tasty you can find them hier or in various retaillers (also on Trier). The visite was adapted ton adults and children. They loved the salami :D Easy to find and right next to Pulvermaar.
Good learning experience
(Translated by Google) I went to the goat farm with colleagues for a tour and tasting and was thrilled. It's nice to see how the animals here are cared for and cared for with a lot of heart. I expected to come into a stable with lots of bleating goats, but they all seemed to be so happy that there was nothing to complain about. It was correspondingly quiet in the stable and we were able to chat easily and watch the apparently very relaxed goats eating and also pet some very curious goats. Over the years, a lot has been invested in the farm and rounded off with great offers. Not only can you get the farm's own goat cheese there, but you can also book one of the numerous other activities, such as goat hikes, goat soap production, goat cheese wine tasting... There are already further plans... It's definitely worth taking a look behind the scenes and the Vulkanhof was definitely worth the trip! Thank you for the wonderful hours on the farm!
(Translated by Google) We went on a goat hike there today. It was really great and we really liked it. We received a very good introduction and then we started with the goat Lieselotte. The goat was very nice and it was a great experience. Thank you for that (Original) Wir haben dort heute eine Ziegenwanderung gemacht.

(Translated by Google) Super lovely goats, great stable, smells of fresh hay and straw. Very nice people on the farm who have put together an exciting program. And the cheese, just delicious (Original) Super liebe Ziegen, toller Stall, riecht nach frischem Heu und Stroh. Sehr nette Menschen auf dem Hof, die ein spannendes Programm zusammengestellt haben. Und der Käse, einfach nur lecker
(Translated by Google) Unfortunately there was no time for tasting the products, but the tour of the farm, the stable and the farm shop was extremely interesting. Well-kept facilities and animals, animal welfare is taken care of. (Original) Leider war keine Zeit für eine Verkostung der Produkte, aber die Führung über den Hof, den Stall und den Hofladen, war äußerst interessant. Gepflegte Anlagen und Tiere, für das Tierwohl ist gesorgt.
