Best beach ever!!!! Ngurbloat also has the softest sand in the world?!!!??? CRAZIIeee The view is amazing! Sunset hits different in Kei island. Would definitely do it again. The place has parking spot, food, and toilet, not the best, but it’s decent enough to have quick rinse. Free entrance
I was really excited to visit this place, but upon arrival I was immediately disappointed as there is trash all over the beach. Plastic cups, food wrappers and even empty oil bottles. When in the water not uncommon for trash to come brushing up alongside you. It’s sad because the beach itself is beautiful and has so much potential. The sand is white and super soft when met by the water, almost like silt or clay. There was a small stretch in the middle near one of the only restaurants that it seems match they try to pick up a bit, definitely not enough though. Someone mentioned that it’s not peak season now and that maybe it’s cleaned up more during tourist season, but I don’t think that’s any excuse as how can the locals be okay living like this either? I understand it’s an impoverished area, but it costs nothing to clean up after yourselves. I saw one French family clean up the area in which they were trying to enjoy the beach which was nice, I commend their efforts, but this should be a goal of the community and local government together. Maybe I’m being ignorant and there’s some other factor I’m missing, sure hope it improves though because it’s a really bad look and I don’t like leaving a review like this for an area which relies on tourism, based on the overly positive reviews which I was drawn in by I felt it’s necessary to tell the real story of what it’s like here. I worry that the youth growing up here will just be accepting of this behavior instead of learning how to take care of their environment. Hopefully they learn to treat this place better as it is very beautiful.
Ngurbloat Beach on Kei Island is absolutely stunning. The sand is incredibly soft and white, stretching for kilometers and making it perfect for long walks. The water is crystal clear and calm, ideal for swimming or simply relaxing by the shore. What makes the beach even more special is how peaceful and quiet it feels, even though it is one of the island’s highlights. It is a perfect spot for those looking to unwind and enjoy natural beauty at its best.
Ngurbloat Beach (Small Kei Island) is a true paradise. Its powdery white sand—once named among the finest in the world by National Geographic—feels incredible under your feet. The sea shines in shades of blue, green, and turquoise, and sunsets here can be simply breathtaking. It’s an easy five out of five stars. Just avoid weekends and holidays when it gets busy; on quieter days, the beach is calm and serene. Plenty of mid- to budget-range accommodations are available, so book ahead to find the right one. A must-visit spot in the Kei Islands: beautiful, peaceful, and unforgettable, with other island attractions nearby, just an hour’s boat ride across the open sea.
The sand is really soft like flour. The place is very comfortable, and it's quite clean and well-maintained. Highly recommended
the beach is nice and clean, the softest sand in the world, a place to watch the sunset
I visited for a week. It’s just ok, but boring. I really should have booked only 2 or 3 nights max, and actually I regret coming to Kei islands at all - too much traveling involved for such little reward. A ridiculous amount of plastic garbage on the beach never gets cleaned up. If you sit on one of the beach benches you will asked to pay a fee. The sand is fine, but no snorkeling here. Stingrays roam the shallow waters. Sunsets are nice tho. Overall there is nothing spectacular about this place. On weekends, especially Sundays, it seems everyone from the city comes here. It is chaos and noisy and traffic and beyond crowded. Best avoid during these days. Open air karaokes dot the beach, and you will not be able to avoid the noise at any time. Even at 4:30 AM any night of the week you may still hear music thumping away while you are desperately trying to sleep. There are only two average cafes here which might appeal to foreign visitors, but it’s only the usual Indonesian foods. If you choose to stay at one of the cottages, beware of mm-thin walls where you can hear EVERY little noise from the room next door.
Beautiful uncrowded beach with clear water and white sand

Great place! Wonderful dive sites, not much in terms of currents, great guides, sustainable policies. I wish I‘d had more time in Kei and I‘d have done more dives for sure! Great diving for all levels.
We had a snorkelling trip with these guys, and we were not really satisfied: we were recommended pulau Hae which should have good coral. Now, on the first spot there, we saw a lot of bleaching, broken and dying corals, while the second spot was mostly coral reduced to rubble, with only small patches of coral left. Our boat driver admitted never to have been in the water there, and coming back the staff was blaming him for not bringing us to the right, 'raya ampat' class spot. Well, that's unprofessional - can't recommend these guys for snorkelling.
Just visited these guys for the second time on my latest trip to Indonesia, still a great little set-up (with a new office etc now) and fun dive team. The German couple that own the dive shop are super friendly, experienced and knowledgable. The dives sites here are beautiful and the beach too. Don't let the remoteness put you off, the journey is well worth the travel and this is about as 'untouched' as Indonesian diving gets. Book your trip quickly to experience it! Thanks to Kei Pirate Divers for the fabulous diving!
I went diving with them in September 2019 and I had the best time. Hope to go again someday.
Great little dive shop in front of the beach in Kei Kecil. A lot of unexplored areas with good coral walls and dive spots. It is run by a nice German couple. Good chats and good advice about things to do in the Island.
This is what diving is about...... Exploring and diving places no one else has dived. I can truly say this was one of my favourite dive trips. And i say this as a dive school owner!!! Janosch and Eva ticked all the boxes. Super friendly and knowledgable about diving and made sure i had everything i needed. And as for the diving.... WOW.... Sharks and un touched reefs..... what else do you need?!?!?! Thanks for a great day out.
Excellent ! Away from the maddening crowd paradise with a friendly and professional couple running a family dive center ... shhhhh... please don't tell another soul :)
THIS DIVING CLUB IS CLOSED SINCE THE COVID TIME.
