My boyfriend and I randomly stumbled across this winery on our way back to our hotel from the Wildlife Safari. We have very limited experience with wine tastings, and we showed up admittedly a bit closer to their closing time than I would have normally liked, but we were looking for a new experience. We unfortunately did not catch our server's name, but he was excellent. He made us feel welcome despite arriving closer to their closing time. His timing was impeccable, and our wine and food were delicious. He said he had been working there for about 5 years, and his knowledge for their wines was very apparent. If we ever visit the area again, we will definitely be back and will arrive earlier! 😅
Visited as part of the Umpqua Wine harvest tour. I wish I had been able to enjoy this winery a little bit better. It was quite busy this day and unfortunately only sampled one wine.
Location was beautiful. Food was great. Service we impressive tableside. Staff was very friendly. Enjoyed a wine flight however I hate to say it was not one of the better flights I've enjoyed at a winery. They all tasted and looked pretty similar. Reservations were suggested online however for our visit on a Tuesdays afternoon it was not needed. I'm sure with their pizzas cooked in the pizza oven they are much busier on Fridays.
Highly recommend reading the fascinating history of how they found this location for growing grapes from Spain!
We have been wanting to try the Roseburg wine region for some time now, and finally got a chance to stop in while on the way to the coast. This winery has a stunning facility with gorgeous views! The staff was friendly, though they struggled with a couple of my questions about their wines. The wines themselves are ok for the most part, with the Tempernillo being their best by far. The wine making philosophy seems centered on re-creating the climate of Spain wine growing regions, which is an interesting approach. I would love to try thier wines 10 years down the road when they have had a chance to refine their winemaking. Definitely worth a visit!
Wine and food was wonderful, but our waitress was less than friendly. We know we were dressed down (it was an unplanned visit), but it was no reason to give unwelcoming service from the girl with dark hair and tattoos. It was forgotten that we ordered a charcuterie, and had she come back, I would have ordered another bottle of wine. The red-headed waitress, however, was much better when we flagged down for service. 3 stars for the good food and wine and the red-headed girl, -2 for the dark-haired girl. I must also mention that we were the only people in the dining area
Stunning venue. Focus on exceptional Spanish wines. Very good service. Tasting fee varies: $15-25 based on reserve level. Pours are good. I recommend getting both levels to compare standard with reserve level (sometimes we preferred standard!) Fees waived with each $50 purchase.
My wife and I did the Vineyard tour with Greg Jones the CEO and had the best time. We learned so much and got treated to beautiful sites and delicious wines. It was incredibly special and can’t thank the Abacela team enough for making it one of the highlights of our vacation to southern Oregon.

Hillcrest has a very large variety of excellent wines. We are so happy we came here for tasting, left with several bottles of wines we haven't tasted anywhere else. The sweet young lady in the tasting room, I'm so sorry I don't remember her name, was friendly, knowledgeable, and made our experience so much fun. We will definitely be back!
Han was the young woman leading our wine tasting. She was sweet and knowledgeable. We had such a fun time talking w her and learning about the wines at the vineyard. Every wine we tried was delicious and had a story behind it. Highly recommend!
Service was good, but tasting fee was pricey compared to other wineries in the area. We ended up leaving without buying a bottle because we didn't love any of the wine we tasted and they were also not affordable. Not a place to go if you're doing tastings around the area or if you're on a budget.
Had a wonderful time, so fun to meet the owner and hear the vineyards history, great Pinot Noir!
We truly enjoyed our visit here. Wow Hannah has such a knowledge about the wines and process very informative and passion . The wines are very delicious we like them smooth and were even straight out opened no decanting. This was our 2nd visit and next time in Roseburg will stop by again.
Interesting set up. Not much of a place to enjoy wine if you visit during a rainy week day. Which seems to most days in roseburg. The son gives you a wealth of knowledge and history of wines to his degree. Spent enough to be comparable to a group of 4, but alone. Was hurried out of there because I was inquiring too much about wines and having a conversation with the son by the mom. The dad gave superb service to the group. But if you go in as one person, might not be received as well. Great reds. Thanks for the one time $200 Visit.
Recently my wife and I visited the Hillcrest winery and learned what "dry farming" was. The owner though she was busy (the only person working) took the time to answer our questions and share the history of Hillcrest. This is the oldest Estate Winery in Oregon and the owners are passionate about what they do. The wines are excellent and one should definitely make this winery a "for sure" stop!
Great wine. Owner was very informative and produces good, quality wine. No where to sit inside but we stood at the bar and did the wine tasting. Good surprise to our wine tasting experience.

I’ve been drinking Reustle’s wines for years but had never visited the winery. It’s a beautiful tasting room that feels like a European wine cave. I love their Gruner Veltliner but their other wines are great too, and I like that they experiment with different winemaking techniques and different types of oak. The little food pairings with the flight were a special touch as well. Gloria and her son were working the day I visited and they’re both delightful. The road up the hill is like driving over Swiss cheese so be careful!
We went here for a Mother’s Day special (closed on Sundays so it was on Saturday) The dish was waffles and chicken and came with one glass of sparkling wine. The waffles were delicious. The chicken a little over cooked. The wine was also delicious. But all told, not a 45 dollar per person meal. The property grounds are absolutely gorgeous. The facility itself? Top notch. Would definitely recommend on your tasting route. For the area, the wine prices are on the higher side. But well worth the visit for the scenery and ambiance.
If you find yourself down in Southern Oregon in the beautiful Umpqua Valley be sure to stop and enjoy an amazing experience at Reustle-Prayer Rock Vineyards. This place is truly one of those rare and wonderful places to enjoy delicious award winning wine, food and stunning views. The wine cave is perfect place to sit and relax while you sip and sample unique wines that provide a delightful experience. The staff is extremely friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable, and professional. They offer a pleasant atmosphere and an unforgettable experience. Reustle-Prayer Rock Vineyards is definitely a must visit vineyard for any occasion.
Beautiful tasting room. Kevin provided great information during our wine tasting in the wine cave. Very informative and knowledgeable about wine. Our favorite was the Tempranillo. Jack gave us a tour of their production facility and was also very knowledgeable about wine making. Wish we could have enjoyed their outdoor seating but it was raining.
We came here as a family on a Friday afternoon. We were immediately astounded by the impeccable facilities- the grounds were unbelievably stunning and well kept. We felt like we were in an Italian villa. We ordered four tastings & food and were astounded by the customer service of the club manager and owner, Gloria. We felt seen and cared for the moment we walked in the door AND the wine was incredible! It was so lovely to sit outside on the sunny day (TONS of seating!) and see so many people enjoying their wine- including young families (HUGE plus!) We became members on the spot and look forward to many years of memories at Reustle!
Stepping into Reustle feels like being transported to another place in time, entirely. The building itself has features unlike anywhere else I've been. Quirky details like the humpty dumpty wine barrel add to its uniqueness. Great wine, served with tasteful pairings. It is a great place for wine touring, especially with Tristyn as a host from Experience Umpqua.
Amazing venue. Range of wine. Great service. Highly affordable bites to eat. Yes. really. The wine cave is absolutely gorgeous (rec to owner-play some Spotify guitar music lightly on the background) Wines range from pretty good to amazing. Tasting comes with accompanying bites and tasting fee dropped with purchase (fee $15 pp, spend $50 pp to waive fee) Such a terrific venue…..go!
Such a beautiful place. And GREAT hospitality! Loved the wines and the food. (They don't post their menu, so be sure to ask!) We stayed two nights in the spacious Carriage House, where you are serenaded by sheep in the evening. We will be back!

We stopped on a long road trip to let the kids get the ants out of their pants. Even in the rain this park is neat. The real train is a fun play structure of sorts. My child enjoyed climbing on it, but I think I did more. Clean restrooms, babbling brook, bike/walking path that connects to points regionally, lots of picnic areas and other such. Lots of parking. Restaurants not too far away, in case you want to pick up something and bring it here for a picnic. If you choose to give a thumbs-up 👍🏽 or not, I hope you found my review helpful!
It is so beautiful this time of year! All the changing colors and the beautiful Umpqua River!
Beautifuly elongated park with plenty of shade and shares it distance with the S. Umpqua. Because of the baseball diamonds, tennis, The Y and Disk Golf Coarse in close proximity youll find active people from all walks of life feeling content and shareing smiles and weekend moments with family and friends.
I have been playing here since 1973 I remember climbing on the choo choo train with my childhood friend,Sabrina balair.. we went to the ymca pre school together ❤️ just a great place where kids and parents, friends and family can get together outside and have a picnic, pets on leash law. Fun for the family.
One of the best places to take kids. You can swim in the river(be careful and kids should have an adult) play on the playground play Frisby golf walk or bike the 4 mile trail. In the summer they have movies in the park for kids and music at the halfshell. Great place for birthday parties or any occasion you can rent a covered space. Also for 4th of july its great for watching the fireworks
I was transitioning from being a full time nanny to living in my car due to inability to find and secure a rental. I stay in my car over night there along the road and felt empathy and compassion from the park host. I am so very grateful ❣️
Stewart Park is a nice park to bring your family to next to spend the day. What time walking past it goes all the way around the Roseburg VA in golf course that's YMCA and baseball fields. The only down sing about it there's not much parking.
Fun place. Park, river & great walking trail!

A magical place. A short hike to the hot springs. We brought our jet boil & enjoyed our morning coffee early in the morning. We arrived around 7 am and nobody else was there until 8 am. Beautiful place with incredible views.
Great natural hot springs. Trail needs some maintenance, and the bathroom needs serious help. We went when the road was closed and hiked through the snow, so maybe that is why the bathroom hasn’t been cleaned to say the least. You get all types here from fools throwing trash in the hot springs to those cleaning up. Top pool is the hottest. Gorgeous view of the river and forest while soaking.
Amazing experience! I visited in July 2025 on a Wednesday. Not too many people. Parking $5 -cash. They have one restroom in the parking lot. About a 10 minute hike to the hot springs from the parking lot. The hike up was short but moderate level. Heads up! There were a few naked humans walking around.
Still absolutely love this hot spring… it’s a magical and beautiful spot but over the past five years or so, it’s definitely seen a big spike in tourism. Sadly, with that has come more trash and less care for the land. If you’re someone who craves a peaceful, untouched connection with nature, this may no longer be the ideal place, as it’s often crowded and not everyone is respectful. Your best bet is arriving before sunrise if you’re hoping for solitude. And just a heads up for families: like many Oregon hot springs, clothing is optional here. If nudity makes you or your little ones uncomfortable, this might not be the experience for you. If the gate is closed, it’s a flat 2 mile hike to the Parking Lot. PLEASE, if you visit, pack out what you pack in, respect the land, and let’s all do our part to keep it sacred.
It's a mixed feeling. The hot spring itself is nice, although the most high pool is the only one hot, the rest where the water trinkles down are warm and some are barely warm. There are lots of pools, about 8-9 in totals, if I recall correctly. The not so nice part is that even on a gloomy Wednesday, the place was packed with a bunch of naked people flaunting their junk around like its their bathroom. It's not the prettiest sight! Definitely not a place to bring your kids.
The hike is short but steep. There's a temperature for everyone with the hottest pool at the top and the coolest at the bottom.
All the reviews are true, parking lot fits a dozen cars so expect it to be tough to park. Trail up is not long but definitely treacherous- broken ankle central. The springs themselves are hot and beautiful. Lots of people at all times so you may have to wait to get in. The slope they’re on is super slippery and steep so waiting looks like crouched on the cliff edge. Still an iconic Oregon experience everyone should check out.
Good little scramble up to some cute little pools. Pretty popular little spot, but the road out to the lot is pretty bumpy with some potholes. Bathroom was disgusting and no TP. Would recommend bringing suit, drinking water, and towel. Temperature of pools is nice and it’s a lovely, scenic spot for a soak.

This is better than the museums I have been to that seems to be over funded but the educational journey is so swallow. And the exhibition is wide with lots to see. And yeah be ready to experience wild life with a great view of wonders.
Very informative local museum!! It had way more information and artifacts than I was expecting. Very pleasantly surprised. Cute gift shop attached; however, I was disappointed in the lack of local items to choose from. I would think a historical local museum would curate some great local artists for trinkets and souvenirs. Other than that it was excellent. The room with the wildfire exhibit/information was heartbreaking but incredible at the same time. I really enjoyed the indigenous information as well as the exhibit showing what animals were in the area thousands of years ago. Great experience overall and even has a Lincoln log play station downstairs for the littles.
Loved it. Really wonderful museum (and I've been to quite a few across the country). Has a HUGE collection of taxidermy animals considering the size of the place. Was there on a quiet day by myself so when the model train started up when I entered the room, it scared the crap out of me. :-o It's a nice touch but startling if you're not expecting it.
Open Sundays! (10a-5p) AWESOME experience!! We drove down from Eugene area and we are so glad we made the trip. So much to see and learn. My favorite part was the animal/taxidermy exhibit. You get to touch lots of stuff (tons of fun for the kids), even real animal pellets/hides.
This is an absolutely fantastic place to stop. We have been to a few museums recently and this is by far the best. There’s fun stuff to do for everyone. The artifacts and displays are all extremely interesting and meaningful. The entire place is well kept by people who clearly are passionate about preserving history. Truth be told I stopped in for the gift shop because I can’t pass up a trinket. We decided to get tickets on whim (which were extremely affordable at only $8) to just “pop in” and see the museum. It ended up being the highlight of our whole day! We could’ve spent two hours in there. So if you go, make sure that you make it before 2pm so you have plenty of time to see everything. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I pass through in the future :)
This was my first time here. I've lived most of my life in Oregon and it took me moving to Illinois for five years to finally stop and check it out. I've got to say for a smaller museum it was pretty great. I enjoyed the new exhibit on the Archie Creek Fire from 2020. The pictures were mind blowing. The rest of the museum has a lot of different things to look at. There is a downstairs, but no elevator to ride down. You either need to use the stairs, or it looks like you can walk outside and around the side of the building to get through a gate if you are mobility challenged, or maybe have kids in strollers. It's not overly expensive and has a little gift shop near the front door. If you are visiting Roseburg Oregon, I recommend stopping in and spending some time here.
Great museum detailing the cultural and natural History of Douglas county. From the giant prehistoric beavers to pioneer quilts to the wine industry, this museum has an exhibit for everything. I can't wait to return with older kids so I can actually read some of the things.
It is such a great little museum! 2 floors of exhibits and the detached train station is filled with timeless charm and exhibits with a running train. There are some interactive features for kids and an indoor and outdoor play area. Affordable, clean and well maintained.

Bought an auction item at a conference that also came with a gift certificate for this place. Oh, and they share the same last name, so mandatory stop on the way home. Definitely a good time going through all the antique pieces and learning a thing or two about some of the more unusual items.
Affordable farm antiques. I could have looked around for hours!
Really neat place to find all kinds of stuff. Can't wait to go back.
I stop here after and talk with Mr Baird and usually end up buying a thing or two to restore.
Awesome place to pick up unique and vintage items. Mr Baird's prices are rock bottom. Super nice guy with lots of stories up his sleeve. Don't expect to leave in less than an hour.....there's plenty to see and hear stories about.
Love this place! So many unique and interesting antiques. I see something new every time I visit!
John Baird's place is an amazing place to stop and do some "American Picking" he has a great variety of stuff and always some great stories to go along with the items.

One of the most unique tastings and best food I’ve had at a vineyard! The tasting is $10, waived with a wine purchase - and you can pick your flight based on your taste preference! My husband and I tried the smoked salmon platter and left the plate absolutely clean. Rhonda helped us and was so welcoming and helpful. You can tell she had a good knowledge of the wines offered and was so gracious. Thank you, we will be back!
They are awesome!! Everyone there was so pleasant and accommodating to anything. The owner came over and visited with us one evening and shared his story with us. We will definitely be back and highly recommend them. Absolutely beautiful property and very friendly people!
Island the Highland games were fun. They do a lot of events out there. It's a great place to have lunch. They have a lot of great wines do a lot of great pairings. They are very hospitable and very dog friendly and there is a great place. You can take kids there. The kitchen staff is great the kidsthey're very accommodating extremely accommodating.
Enjoyed an excellent experience with our tasting today. All the wines were wonderful and paired well with the salmon and moose sausage being served. Wonderful setting inside and out with fire heated seating outside. All the staff were friendly and inviting. Alli and Aria were great!
Hi there, we were there on May 6, 2025 and were going to stay but then knew we had no electricity or water which you graciously provided and we cannot thank you enough. You were very kind and we sincerely appreciated your help. Hugs, Al and Mary Ann Lively
Recently hosted a surprise 70th birthday party for my mother in law here with 40 of our family members. The Melrose staff was so accommodating, helping plan and set up down in the pavilion area. The grounds were beautiful, the staff was amazing, and the food was delicious and plentiful. Great wine as always and highly recommend the vineyard for tastings or events!
Enjoyed Syrah and Reisling. Tasting and bottle prices very reasonable (tasting free with purchase of bottle). We took a walk around the property too, which is beautiful.
I found Melrose on Harvest Hosts for the RV parking and could not have been happier. They have an amazing facility, tasting room and outdoor event spaces to suit a wide range of happenings. Come in for the wine, to learn about the process, or just soak in the soothing surrounds. A must visit for locals and travelers alike!

OMG, what a nice place. I don't even know how to explain how nice it was. Anyone who enjoys plants or wants ideas for gardening, landscaping, fruit plants/trees, vegetable plants, butterfly friendly plants, etc, will love this place.
Wonderful place to visit for education, photos or just to relax. $4 day parking fee or $30 annually.
Very well upkept garden. Very glad to make the visit. Most of the garden is well shaded, so it's easy to escape the heat.
We found this garden on Labor Day and had the place all to ourselves. The gardens were well tended and very creative. Even though the campground was right next to it, the quietness enhanced the beauty. Our 8 year old daughter enjoyed the children's garden very much. Highly recommended if you are looking for some quiet beauty a little bit off the beaten path.
Awesome. If you love gardens, gardening, this is a lovely place. I am impressed, I think there is 2 rain harvesting/storage -- garden across the way. Kiddies will like the garden too. OSU did a great job!
This garden is maintained all year long, opened to the public. The garden contents are very seasonal. Please keep in mind when picking the visit time. Spring to late fall are best.
One of the best gardens around! An unexpected jewel that is maintained with loving care. Lots to see and read, plenty of stuff for the kids.

Peggy and Charlie are wonderful, humble hosts. Every wine they produce is exceptional. Any time I am in Oregon I go out of my way to visit. There is no comparison to Becker Vineyard, it is the greatest winery I have ever been to and you owe it to yourself to stop in.
We loved visiting this winery! Peggy was such a great host and we really enjoyed the intimate and welcoming feel, not to mention the wines were really delicious and palatable especially the Pinot Gris. Be sure to say hi to the tasting room dogs too. It’s a special place and we can’t wait to come back.
If you are a novice or experienced wine drinker this is the place to be. They have an array of mind blowing whites and reds. I highly suggest trying all of their wines, but more specifically their Pinot Noir. I guarantee you will find at least one wine you will fall in love with. Even if you are just passing through the Umpqua Valley for the afternoon this is a place to stop at. Enjoy the beautiful view from their tasting room with the ever so lovely owners Peggy, Charlie, and their sweet dogs Mueller and Willow.
Becker’s is our absolute favorite wine! We make the long drive from Seattle to stock up on their most special wines! When we can’t make the trip south, we order a shipment We have not come across any winery here in Washington State or Europe, that rivals Charlie’s brilliant wine-making from their own dry-farmed vineyard. Each variety - red and white - has intensely delicious, clean and balanced flavors! Becker’s is our #1 destination in Southern Oregon! Peggy and Charlie are so warm and welcoming! We have made many wonderful memories while sipping wine, laughing and meeting with these wonderful people and their friendly dogs, during our visits to their relaxing, and beautiful winery!
Excellent winery that you should visit if you get the chance. They are a dry farmed winery which is more sustainable than a lot of others. The wines are most excellent. They have a fruit-forward characteristic and are quite tasty. There's a nice deck on which to sit and enjoy a glass or bottle of your favorite. Muller and Willow, the mellow winery dogs, and Peggy, the proprietress, are the nicest and anything but boring, which a surprisingly number of winery tastings are.
Great wine, Peggy is the wonderful owner/server. There's always a special on one or more of their wines. Beautiful place inside with outdoor seating. Two giant adorable dogs, Willow and Muller, usually napping, greet you.
Absolutely loved this place, from the super friendly owners, to the super friendly mascot puppies, to the amazing wines! This winery is the real deal! The owners grow all their own grapes with limited help at harvest time. Extreme dedication and passion goes into each bottle they produce. We had a great time outside on the patio enjoying the wine and the beautiful view!
Come for the wine, stay for the dogs! This weekend was our second time visiting Becker and we can’t wait to go back again. A smaller winery a bit off the path, the owners are sweet and oh so nice. The wines are all spectacular and the small outdoor deck makes for a great place to relax on a summer afternoon. This is a hidden gem for sure!!

We finally got to try this place yesterday! The building itself is huge and there is tons of outdoor seating in addition to cornhole and a ping pong table! We ordered a lemon drop and a lager. The lemon drop was delicious but I will say the lager was quite a bit hoppier than one would expect for a lager. Not a bad thing, but just giving an opinion on flavor for others to be aware of! The Caprese Sandwich with bacon was DELICIOUS!! And the Caesar dressing for the salad was also wonderful! The bartender was wonderful and very friendly! All in all! We will definitely be back!
They have good beer and a light menu with pizzas, salads, and sandwiches. All of which were very good as reported by our group. The only issue is the lack of ventilation, everyone get hot and uncomfortable fast. They do have an outdoor eating area. I will certainly go back.
Had the best time, and service in years. The two young ladies who ran the show were incredible, and very exceptional. They Made me feel right at home and welcome to relax while I enjoyed my brew and incredibly put together charcuterie board. Both the cashier and cook did phenomenal!!! (They had a bus of people come in plus the normal crowd and didn’t miss a beat) 100% Recommend this place they go well above and beyond what I could have expected. Those ladies deserve a raise!!! As far as I’m concerned they gained a new customer for life. Much love and many thanks to these guys 🤙🤟🤙🤟(sept 6)
Amazingly friendly local brew pub with a great selection of craft beers and a nice selection of pub fare (including wood fired pizza). The beer quality is impressive and they offer beer flights - I recommend a flight for sampling. Service was some of the most pleasant I’ve experienced anywhere. We probably sampled half their tap selection before making our choices and the server was more than willing to continue. This is a great local place to try.
We were exposed to this place when some friends who live in Roseburg took us there. As out of town visitors, we had zero foreknowledge of this location and what it offered. But it lived up to the hype. It's a little out of the way and off the beaten path for sure, and you kind of have to know where it is to want to go there. But it's definitely worth giving it a go. I'm also told it gets extremely popular on sporting event days, so take that into consideration when planning a visit.
I absolutely DESPISE this place. I am and never will be a customer here, because I am so livid ever since this business came into town. They BLAST music most weekends til 11PM, PAST public ordinance. They have people parking in the alleyway behind the business disrupting the flow of neighborhood traffic. They have their alleyway camera facing into my property FACING my apartment, which I feel is a disturbance of my privacy. I hate this business and all that they do. Horrible place.
Backside is our favorite hang out place! The cheese bread is a must and we love their variety of drinks offered! The outdoor seating is great to allow for the littles to play while we visit with our company!
We went there 2 weeks ago . Two hours and 10 minutes before closing time. As soon as we walked in a waiter took a look at us and told us that their kitchen was closed because it was a slow day. Who in their right mind would run a business , post bussiness hours, and then stop conducting their business 2 hours and ten minutes before closing time? Someone who did not see a group of 9 people just walking in (that's how many our group was) . It was someone who saw a group of friends that are from different ethnicities and races , some white , some black and some Hispanics. I am very disappointed at this place and the people that work on it. Do better!

Had a wonderful time at wine pickup. The owner is almost always here to talk. The staff is wonderfully friendly and the atmosphere is delightful. A must stop if you’re out tasting! Wine is delicious too, it’s why we’re members.
This place was AMAZING! The service, food, and wine was fantastic! I won’t even talk about the view since you already know it is great. All the staff were extremely friendly and so sweet, especially Asia she’s awesome! Not to mention it was extremely clean and very well kept. I will definitely be back multiple times. This is now my new favorite hang out spot!
Excellent views and wines! Outdoor and indoor seating. We visited in Early November and was chilly outside but they had heaters. Wine tasting is reasonable and staff is friendly. A bit internal from the freeway but worth the visit!
We hadn’t been back since the new owners took over, and we were really impressed with all the thoughtful and creative additions to the property. The space feels fresh and welcoming, especially with the beautiful new wood-shaded cover—it’s a great spot to relax and enjoy some wine. The staff were fantastic—friendly, attentive, and clearly love what they do. That positive energy made the whole experience even better. We especially enjoyed the white wines—definitely a standout! It was also great to see the owners so involved and mingling with guests. You can tell they really care about the experience people have here. We’re already looking forward to our next visit this summer when the “Avalanches” return!
I came to this winery with my family to celebrate the life of my wife, who recently passed away. She loved this place and was a wine club member here for years. We were hoping for a peaceful, meaningful afternoon in her honor—but what we got was the exact opposite. The service was incredibly slow. We had to ask multiple times just to get water, the wine we had already ordered, and the charcuterie board we paid for. It felt like we were constantly being ignored. But the worst part—and the part that still upsets me—was while sitting near one of their metal light poles it snapped right off and almost hit me in the face. It was clearly cheap and poorly maintained and previously damaged. It could have seriously injured someone. When we told the owner, Steve, he didn’t ask if I was okay. Instead, he immediately blamed our grandchildren—who had absolutely nothing to do with it—and said they should’ve apologized. That kind of reaction, especially on a day like this, was incredibly hurtful. We came here to honor someone we loved, and instead we were treated with rudeness, disrespect, and complete disregard for safety. We will never come back. This place has horrible service, is not kid friendly, and certainly not friendly by any means. Not a warm welcoming family owned place as advertised and a membership worth canceling.
We came to this winery to celebrate the life of my mom, who recently passed away and had been a wine club member here. Unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing. Service was painfully slow—we had to repeatedly ask for basic things like water, the wine we ordered, and even the charcuterie board we paid for. Even worse, one of their cheap metal light poles snapped in half when my dad was near it. It was incredibly unsafe, poorly maintained and could have seriously injured someone, including my 4 year old nephews. When we told the owner, Steve, he not only dismissed our concern but blamed our kids—who had nothing to do with it—and said they should’ve apologized. The lack of accountability and empathy was shocking, especially considering the occasion. We will never return. A truly disappointing and disrespectful experience.
We had the most incredible time here! We took a walk through the beautiful vineyard. The wine was amazing and the service was impeccable, especially Asia! My sister and I can't wait to come back next month.
This experience was delightful from the moment we arrived. The views are beautiful. The staff was a joy! Interaction with our server, Antwon, was delightfully engaging and made our experience something to look forward to for future visits. Everyone was kind. Music by a local, Brian Dean, was fun. The wines were perfection along with the whipped feta goat cheese with pistachio 😋

A hidden gem of a vineyard. EVERY wine is delicious, it’s small production, and they have stories to tell. There’s a reason I’m a member here…and I don’t live in Oregon. Extra kudos to Carly for giving me a personalized wine tasting today. Such a lovely place. 💚🍷
A great little winery with excellent wines. Chance, the sommelier, was very informative both about the wines and the history of the winery. I even asked if he was family. It is a bit out of town, but well worth the trip.
Kristie, who is very cool, did our wine tasting and gave us a tour and it was so much fun!! All the wine is delicious and they have so many interesting varietals to try. The Baco Noir and Seyval Blanc I’d never tasted anywhere else.
The oldest winery in Douglas county, family owned and operated. Decadent wines. Try them all. We celebrated my mom's 80th birthday and had a grand time.
A friend took us to Giardet Vineyards. She goes there often and, even, helps them. The vineyard is set off the road and set against a beautiful green hill. The tasting room has a front area for visitors and a back area for bigger events. They also have chairs outside for a relaxed afternoon sipping wine. We did a tasting. I did like some of the wines, though, many would be better with a bit of age. Boco Noir, Traldigo and Cabernet were good. My favorite was a Riesling. It was mellow with a bit of sweetness that was perfect for summer. I definitely recommend trying Giardet Vineyards. It’s a smaller, more friendly and laid back place to do a tasting to find what you like and buy a couple bottles and enjoy an afternoon with friends. It’s a bit out of the way but I like it that way.
We stopped by spontaneously while driving on the highway and it was so worth the stop. Don’t look for signage, just follow your gps. The wine was great, the people were very friendly, and the whole thing was just unpretentious and down to earth. The Barbera and Baco were our favorites.
Amazing winery! We stopped by a few other places in the area and this one was by far the best! We enjoyed every one of their wines (including the cab sav, which we aren’t usually fans of!) Christie was very knowledgeable and fun to talk to as well! We will definitely be back when we are back in the area.
We love Girardet winery. We make sure to stop in if we are close by.

Adored this winery experience. I visited as part of the Umpqua Harvest Tour and was very impressed by the knowledge portion. The plate provided to pair with the wines was perfect and the staff made us feel quite welcome.
Older winery with tons of charm and great wines. If you're looking for a modern tasting room - this isn't the place for you. But their wines speak for themselves. They have options you won't see at other wineries, and their knowledge is outstanding.
Great place to come and visit for a tasting! The workers are very friendly, and of course the wine is great.
Kiely was our server-she was fairly new but did a nice job in reviewing the wines. Cute tasting room. We found the wines excellent and more robust than we were expecting which in our opinion is a good thing! Would definitely return.
From the outside, the tasting room may not look that impressive but do not let that deceive you. There are wonderful wines inside waiting to be discovered. The wine maker is very knowledgeable and quite willing to talk with you about his wines. A very worthwhile stop with easy access to/from I-5.
We stopped in here based on a recommendation from a local while visiting the area. A quant small winery near Roseburg. The outside is a little unassuming. Inside is a nice tasting room with some big, forward tasting reds. They had a few that I would easily put up against 3/4 of the wines out of the Napa/Senoma areas. Definitely worth a checkout.
Full selection of wines, and their focus seems to be on big, bold reds. Loved the Malbec, and the Cab, also the Rhone Valley whites are really good too. Though I'm not a big white drinker the Syrah and unoaked Chardonnay are excellent. Owner Pat, couldn't have been nicer. Relaxed tasting room, and the dogs are very at home. Cute gift shop, and very kid- friendly with the puzzles and coloring books, very smart. Beautiful views from the vineyard. Easy access off I-5. Their web site has a full list of varieties, and they ship!
I loved every single wine I tried! Even got spoiled with extra samples and ended up buying the bottles. Bob was so fun and personable as a pourer and I even got to meet Patrick the owner. Great spot, great wine, great people! Glad I stopped!

Most amazing winery. The tasting room is so nice. The staff, amazing. The service OUT OF THIS WORLD. Stopped again to pick up our replacement bottle (see husband Alfonse Daudet review). Amanda in the tasting room is a “rock star”. We love this place. Please come and enjoy. Alfonse and I strongly recommend it.
In my travels from Kentucky to Portland, Oregon I had an opportunity to stop and experience a very prized and unique endeavor that I highly enjoy in my travels. I stopped here at Paul O’Bryans winery and found the event most satisfying and rewarding. The elangant display of their wine tasting establishment, cha uteri board presentation and atmosphere is well worth the visit. The establishment is clean, smartly decorated comfortable with a slight elegance on the upward scale. The staff is well informed, very friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this wine tasting event, you won’t regret it…..
Bought a 3 litter bottle of their Pinot Noir. The cork pop out of the bottle, unmolested, half way to California. All that wine spilled onto our car carpet and back seat. Alerted the tasting room manager, Lacey, and she was to let us know about compensation this afternoon, after she spoke to Scott. I will amend this review subject to Scott’s reply. Winery replied this morning and the bottle will be replaced. We also accepted the apology for the no call-back when promised. All good now. Great service despite of it all. To all: do not carry the large bottles laying down and do not expose to any heat (last one suggested by the winery).
Update 3/2021: Classic wines by passionate winemakers! The 2016 Umpqua Valley Pinot Noir I’m currently drinking (good luck finding a bottle) is a classic! This baby has been sitting in my cellar for two years and today is a special occasion (I wanted to sip a good wine). The classic notes of black cherry open to perfection. Behaved acidity and truly silky tannins make this a wine you want to keep savoring. 95 points and I’m being stingy). If only Dyson and Scott would put actual tasting notes on the back label rather than the tripe some marketing consultant talked them into. Fortunately that does not detract from this outstanding wine. __________________________________________ Paul O’Brien’s was recommended by a former vineyard owner - and that was a great recommendation! Some of the best wines I’ve had in the Umpqua valley are here (bought more bottles here than at any other winery on this trip). Come here for the wines rather than vineyard views. 2016 Pinot Noir (awesome); best Tempranillo I’ve had outside of Spain! Cozy wine tasting room with pleasant service. $10 tasting fee waived with purchase of one bottle (which you are going to want anyway). Highly recommend.
We are a wine family from CA and recently moved up. After having kids and the recent move it has been almost 7 months since we (my wife and I) have been able to go on a date. The wines were great and the tasting room was beautiful. The wine steward was also awesome. Everything was great until the wine club lady came out. I believe her name was Linda. She was extremely rude and condescending to the point that we got really uncomfortable and left. We were on cloud 9 and feel like the rug was ripped out from under us. I don’t understand what we did to be treated this way.
Andrea was a wonderful host and we got to meet Scott Kelly who makes one of our favorite wines.
The host, Andrea, was phenomenal, knowledgeable and friendly. She treated us more like a family member or friend and shared beautiful wines and conversation with us. She made our experience a fantastic one. The wines were delicious and we became members. You will not be disappointed in this winery.
We had such a great experience at Paul O'Brien! Audrea was patient and kind, and explained so much to us about their wines, food pairings, and even let us know about other local wineries and vineyards. Her recommendations for a local Greek restarting were spot on as well! I haven’t been wine tasting since before covid restrictions started, but was pleasantly surprised at how good the experience was. We’ll definitely be returning. Of course, the wines were fantastic also!
