Nature & Parks
Lakeside area featuring a walking path, plaza with fountain show & amphitheater for outdoor events.
Slide 1 of 8
Crane’s Roost Park is located right in front of our apartment. After we moved in, I was so happy to discover this beautiful park, and we often went for evening walks. Around sunset, the color of the lake becomes absolutely stunning, and the number of birds is just amazing—we were constantly in awe and took lots of photos. The park is well-designed for jogging and walking, and it has restrooms too. We enjoyed taking walks, then sitting on benches placed throughout the park to relax and chat while looking at the lake. It’s peaceful to see people sitting near the fountain or on the grass, talking and enjoying the moment. This park truly makes me happy.
If you’re looking for a place that makes you forget your worries and just breathe… this is it. Cranes Roost Park isn’t just a park, it’s like God’s living room. You got the big lake shining under the sun ☀️, the walking trail wrapping all around it (perfect for when you need to clear your mind or just enjoy a good stroll), and the kind of peaceful vibe that makes you want to slow down and thank God for the little things. 🙏🏼 💧 The Lake: Ducks, birds, water fountains—it’s like nature put on a show just for you. 🚻 Bathrooms: Clean (and yes, that matters a lot when you’re out walking after coffee 😅). 🐕 Dog Friendly: Bring your pup! They’ll love it as much as you. 🍔 Nearby Food: Restaurants close by when the walk gets you hungry. Pastrami sandwich after a lake stroll? Don’t mind if I do 🤤. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family Spot: Great for walking with family, catching events, or just sitting down and watching the world go by. ✨ Final Word: Cranes Roost is more than a park—it’s a little escape, a reminder that peace and beauty still exist around us. Take a walk, breathe deep, smile at the friendly people, and let the lake do the rest. Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 (5/5) Because you can’t put a price on peace.
This is an amazing place for a walk, run or just to spend some time. Great views and environment. The would really be a great place for a bike ride. All the different features make this a must to see and enjoy. It worked out for me as I was staying at the Embassy Suite. This became a perk.
This is one of the most beautiful parks I've ever been to, I'm kind of amazed I've never heard of it before. It's a huge loop with two bridges that go over the lake. Tons of benches and seating areas all over the place. There's even what looks to be a concert dock with tiered seating facing it. Why are there no concerts held here that I'm seeing on the website? Do they exist and they're just not on the website? Or is the space really not being utilized to the fullest? Because the park is gorgeous and you'd be able to hear music from literally anywhere whether you're sitting in the grass across the lake, or relaxing it any of the benches in the area. It really is very beautiful. There's even a little fountain area shaded by lots of big trees and has tables and benches to bring the kids out to play. Makes for a great running trail with a view!
I recently visited Cranes Roost Park in Altamonte Springs, and it quickly became one of my favorite spots near Orlando. The park is absolutely beautiful, with a big lake in the center and a wide walkway that circles around it—perfect for walking or just taking in the scenery. I loved how clean and well-kept everything was, and there were plenty of benches and shaded areas to sit and relax. In the evening, the fountain show with lights and music made the whole place feel magical. The atmosphere was peaceful but still lively, with families, couples, and people walking their dogs all around. What stood out to me most was how welcoming and safe it felt, and the fact that there’s always something happening, like concerts or festivals, adds to the charm. Parking was easy enough when I went, though I can see it getting busier during events. Overall, it’s a great place to spend time outdoors, whether you’re looking for a relaxing stroll, a nice spot to unwind, or some community fun. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the Orlando area.
This is a popular and great spot to walk. 2 Bridges and the walks right on the water are 1 mile per lap for easily picking how many miles to walk or run! ;)
I love coming here to walk around. They already have lights up and they were still working on the christmas tree. I bet its going to be so nice to see at night. & Congratulations to the couple that got engaged!
A beautiful spot for an evening stroll around the lake—peaceful and scenic. This was my second visit, and I had a fantastic time attending an event held there. The atmosphere was lively, and the setting made it even more enjoyable.
Altamonte Mall

Shopping mall
Shopping
Dozens of brand-name shops, an 18-screen movie theater & several restaurants fill an enclosed mall.
Slide 1 of 8
A first-class shopping center with excellent stores. Good meeting point for any type of family, company or just to go shopping. Enjoy the restaurants, especially Brio, where you will enjoy their food, service and pleasant atmosphere. Milennia has a first-class food court if you want something quick.
A Place Full of Memories and Still Going Strong Altamonte Mall has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, and it’s amazing to see how it’s grown while still keeping that familiar, welcoming vibe. Whether it was back-to-school shopping, weekend hangouts, or just grabbing a bite at the food court, this place has always been a go-to. The mall is clean, well-kept, and has a great mix of stores—both the classics and newer spots. The atmosphere is relaxed, and it’s never too hard to find parking. It’s clear the team here takes pride in keeping it a great experience for everyone. Altamonte Mall isn’t just a shopping center—it’s a part of the community. And for me, it’s a place full of great memories and still one of my favorite spots to visit.
Came here for Atomic Tattoos, changed my nose ring.. also came to eat, too. First time at this mall, and it's probably the biggest one I've been in so far.. definitely coming back...
I haven't been to this mall in forever. It has great stores, great food court, and it was hoppin'. Nice to see a mall thriving. We rented these scooter animals and it was a blast. Well worth it! After we rented 2, within 10 minutes they nearly had all of them rented. Ever kid wanted to do it! We saw dad's riding with their kids. So cute! I can't wait to go back and do some shopping! Great way to beat the heat!
While the mall offers a good amount of shopping spots, they opted to remove the children's play area for a paid "construction zone" play spot. You have spend money to operate miniature construction vehicles for a short amount of time. There's no area for kids to just be kids and especially in the summer when it's too hot to always be outside, it's extremely disappointing.
Needs an update. The mall feels dated and lacks the variety and energy you find in other malls. Many stores are empty, and the overall atmosphere feels stuck in the past. It’s still convenient for quick errands, but it could really use a refresh to bring it back to life.
Great local mall with a movie theater, some plazas and stores around, a nearby lake to walk around and see ducks and turtles swimming in. Also nearby is an uptown area (with offices and residential areas) nearby to walk in as well as walkway areas where some local art/craft fair take place (with art stalls/booths, food trucks, seasonal decor, fireworks, etc). The mall’s dining area has a nice variety of food vendors and fast food restaurants like Chikfila, Charlie’s, a small pasta place, a soup shop, and a couple of Asian restaurants. There is also a smoothie place that is still there to this day. Downstairs, there are some dessert places like a cookie place (where cookies and cookie cakes can be made), an Auntie Annie’s, and a few other random snack or quick meal shops, like one with hot dogs, cheese sticks, etc. To note, also downstairs, there is a popcorn stall/booth that gives off the (in?) famous popcorn smell that you can smell whenever you go to the central area of the mall. 😄 There are many clothing shops and a few fandom merch-mixed with clothing stores like Hot Topic, Box Lunch, FYE (For Your Entertainment, which is a an entertainment digital media and merch store), etc. The Torrid store is a pricey, but great shop for those who are size XL and up and for folks who can’t fit the much smaller Hot Topic sizes. MiniSo was another store recently added, and some odd used game store or another merch store or two. There are also a couple of soap and perfume shops as well that sometimes have sales. There are the major department stores in each side of the mall, like Macy’s, Dillard’s, JC Penny, etc. If you enjoy buying books (and music and dvds, and some random toys, stationary, etc), there is a great Barnes and Noble that tends to be good at keeping stock or ordering whatever you would like, with a small Starbucks that has a seating area inside within the bookstore. The mall sometimes have seasonal “visit” events for the little ones, like meeting Santa and Easter Bunny, etc, and would have a Christmas tree and decor during Christmas season. The mall recently added a small recharging station with a few tables with a few outlets at one end of the mall, if you need to recharge a phone or similar device quickly. There is an Apple Store (for buying or trading in iPhones, IPads, Air, Apple device accessories etc) that is also pretty good, if a bit busy at times, so make sure you have extra time for it, since it’s in high demand with high foot traffic. There are some other stores and stalls that are put up by smaller businesses, like phone repair, ear piercing, jewelry stalls, perfume or hair accessories, etc. There is a Build-A-Bear stall in the bottom floor central area at the moment (near the small food places), and a stall for little mechanical electronic animal-vechicle rides for various prices depending on duration of driving time. MiniSo is a decent shop for small merch toys and some necessities and accessories imported from Asia. Box Lunch and Hot Topic are both great for getting smaller tshirts of various rotating fandoms and various fandom merch. There is a small little place to get pedicures/manicures and to wax or pluck eyebrows & facial hair. There is a Sephora for more high end makeup, though Hot Topic and Box Lunch have some cheap fandom makeup sometimes. (If you want to go cheaper for makeup and curly/textured hair products, there is an Ulta store outside of the mall, in the plaza behind/near the mall.) Bathrooms are a decent/good size with several stalls and one or two accessible stalls, and some family sized ones. The only downside is that parking tend to be crowded during the weekends or during lunch hours. Still, if you don’t mind walking from a farther parking spot, it’s got lots of parking. All in all, I really love our local mall, especially as someone who often buys books, fandom merch, some various clothing, electronics and accessories, and eat at the various dining spots inside. ☺️👍
Nice Mall, no empty spaces. Has a decent food court, and Connected to a movie theatre. Or you can go for a walk through Crane's Roost.

Slide 1 of 8
We’ve been visiting Lake Lotus Park for quite a few years now and it’s a great place to take your family. The rangers are attentive, fishing is always a great option and the tragic, albeit short, is an educational experience. Nice park for a picnic too.
Although half the trails were closed when we went it was still a very lovely place to explore. There were no bear encounters. It would appear that the wildlife are used to humans though we didn’t bring food because we don’t usually do that unless it’s specified that it’s allowed but seemed like they wanted food. Very beautiful park. Definitely returning when they reopen the other side.
Peaceful place with plenty of sitting areas, shaded benches, gazebos and designated fishing plus enjoyable boardwalk/ trails. For years it had been impossible to visit due to being closed every time we were in the area. Today was our lucky day. Open from Thursday to Sunday. Swings for kids and grills are also plentiful. Will be back on a Thursday definitely- for some relaxation for me and fishing for my hubby. A piece of heaven in Altamonte.
Although it was beautiful as you entered the park, all but 1 trail is open. The rest are closed for hurricane repair. Was super excited to get to the lake but no access 😢 Still able to see butterflies and cute plants!
This little park is just the bees knees. Since moving to the area a few years ago, I’ve been lucky to live just 2 minutes away from this hidden gem. There’s a lot of foot area for exploring on their trails (most of which are on risen wooden boardwalks), plus the playground and of course the lake towards the back of the park where there’s always someone fishing. There’s a butterfly garden near the parking/playground areas where I’ve seen massively cool looking caterpillars, incredibly deep colored flowers, and a plethora of butterflies. My one complaint about this park is that it’s closed on weekdays (it’s closed Mon-Wed). I used to have another complaint regarding the trolley, but now that the pandemic has affected everything, there is no more trolley (yay!). You used to have to park on the other side of the main street to ride a trolley if you wanted to get in the park on weekends. Never made sense to me. If you want to disconnect from the noise of the city, the news, and everything else, but can't go too far from home? Come here. If you easily find the magic in nature, this place is quite the adventure compared to most other parks in the area. You will be absolutely delighted.
Trail run? Fishing? Nature view? A breathe of fresh air? They all have it here! I am really amazed as to how they made the running route. The route is made of wood which is to protect humans for wild animals. ( creaking and old but I did not encounter a broken one, but still watch out!) ( you may see a lot of warning signs about alligators inside) In the middle there is what they call the eye or window of the lake where in you could view the whole lake! Furthermore, fishing in the area is allowed but make sure you have the license for it. There are also some playground for kids to play in the middle of the park. The comfort room is decent and clean. And they have a map! So we won't get lost! 5 stars for this and this is by far the best i've seen in altamonte. 😊
Lake Lotus Park is one of the best in the area. It includes walking trails and an stroller/wheelchair accessible boardwalk paths, a fishing dock, wildlife info, informative panels about the plants, lots of benches, a playground, and CLEAN BATHROOMS! 👍 The map is accurate and easy to follow. Overflow parking is across the street from the entrance and easy to navigate. A shuttle service runs every 25 minutes from the overflow parking to the park, visitors may also safely use the walking path from the overflow parking. Park Rangers are helpful and use golf carts to make regular rounds throughout the walking paths. Enjoy! 🌳🌿
Drive a long way to see the boardwalk, but it’s still closed. The playground is open for kids to play.

Just moved to the area I was looking for a Catholic Church for Easter Sunday. I was absolutely floored how wonderful and beautiful this church is I thought I had a beautiful church back in New Jersey, but this took my breath away the way they put the words projected on to the wall so that you can follow the mass so closely and to sing along I will be a parishioner there for sure it’s almost park like outside just to sit and think about things. I’m so happy I found this Church .
Mass is even more special by sitting with special friends. After the noon Mass, five of us sang "Happy Birthday" to Vicky, a member of the group. We enjoy getting together for other occasions and events, too.
What a beautiful church! Plenty of parking, and plenty of seating. The architecture is stunning! I was here for a friend's funeral. The mass was done so well and the service was touching.
Mass was so beautiful today. My lady full of grace is what I call her. She shares the same birthday with my little sister. I moved away from the area 15 years ago and drive an hour and half from Melbourne to have mass for her. The gift shop is cute, got a couple of stuff
This is such a beautiful church, Father Ivan is such a wonderful person. The church grounds are gorgeous.
There is a large hispanic community in this area being deprived of a Spanish mass on Sundays. We need to make everyone feel welcome and not excluded. The love of God is for all
Father Matthew is a wonderful and knowledgeable speaker....Body pain vs. Spiritual pain was so enlightening at the 5 o'clock mass tonight.
Absolutely beautiful and inspiring to have been able to visit this parish. I am looking forward to returning again soon.
