Loved this place! Right off of our route to Tampa. LOTS of gators to see in their enclosures. Also, beautiful trees. When you get to the walking area, the baby gators are adorable, along with Miles the spurred tortoise. We got to hold a 4/5 year old gator (still so small!) and feed a bunch of them in a feeding area, with the help of Jeremy (?), who also gave us a lot of information about them (gators don't really like people, crocs are the ones that come after you!). Carlos taught us about the variety of chickens they have. We held and brushed bunnies, fed goats, and got to hold the new one that was born just on Sunday! Overall, a very enjoyable stop on our way south.
Not worth the $22,- for an adult admission. Bunch of gators in two small fenced areas and you drove by the fence on dirt road. It take about 2 minutes. Than you can see some baby gators behind glass. You can feed small gators, take a picture with one and if you have small children, they can pet some rabbits and goats. The owner claimed in previous response that some people spent up to 2 hours there??? Really?? It took me about 10 minutes. Save your money and go for a air boat tour where you can see the gators in their natural habitat. It's only 10 bucks more, but you get to see ton of gators and a beauty of local wet land. And it's not too far from there.About 20 minutes. You'll be glad you did.
The workers are very friendly. It's awesome that you can feed the alligators, goats, chickens, and pigs. My kids loved the bunnies. The drive thru is super boring. Very cool that we got to hold a baby alligator (2 1/2 years old) I think it's over priced though. $22 per adult.

Lots of neat stuff. There's a diverse collection of items and most are well priced. We purchased a few things and would visit again. It took us about an hour to quickly see everything. There are quite a few vendors in here. We could have spent 3 hrs poking around. There's ample parking out front and bathrooms are well maintained.
One of my favorite places to visit in Florida. Always find great collectibles with even better pricing. Everyone is friendly and it’s fun to explore all of the different areas. We collect depression era things and always find something stunning to bring home.
Another great day shopping at the Wildwood Antique Market! My teenage nephews are addicted to this place. They actually begged me to take them while on vacation. They found items for themselves and ones girlfriend. (Gotta love kids shopping vintage!) *Pics added were from today. Wacky, weird, and fun finds. Ps- Beautiful coffee station set up that I always miss as I am too eager to shop. Always great staff+ clean environment. _______________ Great inside antique mall with a variety of vendors. They must have 100+ vendors! Incredibly friendly staff members too. The staff is always willing to help you with negotiating ($25+) with the vendors and holding items till you can pick them up. Always willing to help interested kids as well!!!! I've bought an antique barrister bookcase, many textiles, MCM dishware, and too much jewelry to count. My nephews always find something too. Ie- jewelry, tools, books, furniture, vintage clothing, china, glassware, puzzles, Christmas ornaments, and other collectibles
Huge and great selection of items. I usually end up making purchases when I go there as prices are competive and many dealers with wheel and deal if you buy multiple items. Fun place to browse on a hot summer day. Staff is always very helpful and friendly.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had such a great experience at Treasure Mart in Wildwood! I picked up some cookbooks and a few beautiful pieces to hang in my kitchen, and it truly made a difference. Lately, I’ve felt a little lost trying to come up with meals, and these finds really helped spark some inspiration. The store had such a welcoming vibe, and I loved browsing through all the treasures. It’s a great place to find something special that lifts your spirits and makes your space feel more like home. I’ll definitely be back!
I enjoy coming here and seeing all the neat things they have. Everything is so neat and organized It's like walking into a bunch of tiny little shops. Each offering something unique and cool. Check them out some time.
Attention vendors: Think twice before renting space at this retail store. Their business model relies on leasing sections to vendors, but they set you up for failure. The store has no effective measures to prevent shoplifting, meaning your inventory is at constant risk of being stolen. Worse, they don’t keep proper change at the front counter, so customers can’t even complete purchases with larger bills. This makes it nearly impossible to generate consistent sales. Partnering with this store is a recipe for lost inventory and missed revenue. Save your business and look for a more professional, secure venue that actually supports its vendors.
A fun experience! I have been there 2x now and had fun looking around both times. There is so much to look at!

😀🐩🐕🦮🐕‍🦺 We take our dogs here for a walk. There are dog stations. It appears folks pick up after their dogs. Trails are paved and clean. Reat rooms are clean Nice place to spend some time with or without your dog. Some areas well marked warning of potential alligators and snakes.
Nice, quiet park. Lots of parking spaces, nice short trails. Not ideal for fishing off the pier. Not much lake access either
Disc golf park with a playground. Look like newer equipment both for tots and older kids. My gripe is that old tires were used as mulch for the playground which is not great for littles. Restroom is pit toilet. There are 2 faucets with one labelled non-potable. Volleyball court on the other side of the covered eating area.
What a nice scenic trail clearly marked with 3 different distances with the red trail being the longest trail at 1 mile. It also couple's as a disc park walking trail. There are plenty of signs everywhere. I saw 2 public bathrooms. Plenty of parking. I wouldn't suggest using the boat ramp though. Definitely worth the visit.
It was by mistake that we found it .. but we ended up watching 👀 the sunset, and my grandson, who 💙 is two, had a blast at the park 😀 XOXO ❤️
Love this park! You can walk through three different walking trails in the woods with plenty of shade. There is a dog park area, which is a large, fenced-in area with a big, shady tree. There are plenty of picnic tables for a gathering. Plenty of sunshine too and near water. Be mindful of the Florida wildlife. You and your dog will love it.
I stopped by for the first time it has a play area for the kids. A large area for your games of flag football a large pavilion for large family get togethers all in the same general area. The park it set up for disc golf. Walking trails dog friendly. A boat ramp with ample parking for boat trailers. There is a pavilion right by the boat ramp.. Yes there is restrooms.
This is a nice little park off the side of the road. It has a playground and decent trails to walk on. Its not fancy, but its ok for an extra stop. :)

A fun great spot.Thetes mucic and dancing every night I believe. Great happy hours. Very very good resteraunt s on every corner and all different kinds of shops. All the squares in the Villages are unique and fun. The old Spanish spring is being remodeled but still open and some new great resteraunts also.
I absolutely loved the whole area, it was such a fun place to walk around and listen to music! And the restaurants were delicious!
Great place that's free to go listen to music. The band was great. It was Golf Cart Central parked all the way around the Square in every parking spot of course since it's The Villages. Parked in a parking lot off to the side of the square and walked to to the square but it really wasn't too far from the away. You can take your own chair or they have them there to use, they also have bleachers to sit on while watching the bands. They have a full bar which is reasonably priced under the bleachers where you can get a drink while you're there. There are a ton of restaurants/bars in the square where you can eat and have drinks as well. I didn't go into any of them but the food I saw coming out in most of the places around the Square looked great. Kind of a walk to the bathrooms from the square but not too bad. Overall it was a great experience, everyone was happy and friendly. I will definitely go back.
First time I went to this part of the villages. It was a great set up.They have a really big stage with the big floor in the front. And they actually have bleachers so you actually have places to sit in case you don't bring a chair, but they also have chairs too. The bathroom is a little far away but it's really nice and air conditioned and they do serve drinks and little tiny snacks. Great setup and fun band.
A great place to go for shopping, eating, and live music. Several restaurant options and some ice cream places. Lots of shops and plenty of parking. Stay for the live music in the evening.
I am pretty sure this is one of the best places to enjoy music and have fun in town from 5 to 9 it’s amazing have fun and enjoy
The Happening place to be. Live music every night, Corvette club in town one night. Plenty of places to eat and drink.
I love to walk around this square. There are several restaurants to chose from including basic bar food to fine dining or fast food. I was there for the Halloween event and it was very festive. The bands are excellent.

Great staff, John was an awesome help getting me familiar with the course and setting up my cart. Game play was fantastic, thank you Jack, Bobby, and Peter for a fun and memorable game! The Oaks restaurant has nice choices on the menu, and I enjoyed the food. The place was hopping! The wait staff were beautiful, polite, professional, and prompt. Will look forward to coming back here for more rounds and good food. The layout of the club house was easy to manage....restrooms, lounge, player room, pro shop, and offices. Thank you for treating me well!
Delicious lunch. Never been before but will return. Restaurant well mainly and nice inside. Like stepping into the 50s overlooking the pool. Very cute! Server Michele was so sweet and nice. Will return.
Best course in Lake County. Not for your weekend warrior, this course will test every aspect of your game. With beautiful fairways, actual sand in the bunkers, grass around the greens, and not to mention the smoothest, perfect, firm and fast greens, this course has it all. My hats off to the staff and everyone involved in making Continental County Club the only real course worth playing in Lake County. As a scratch golfer I have 100% trust and faith in everything that the staff are doing. Keep up the great work!
My wife and I live in CCC and we love it. We looked at multiple communities with an eye to retirement and did not want the cookie cutter neighborhood of Central Florida. We like nature, old trees, animals, lakes and waterfront. CCC has it all
Thought we would buy here but Gate Employee was very unfriendly. No thanks. Never had a chance to rate community because why buy when the first person u see doesn't even smile. Plenty of other communities in the area.
Great place to practice your shots. Good driving range, good bunker play available and the best greens around the put on.
Played last week on a shotgun at 8:30. Was very impressed and even sought out the superintendent to thank his staff for the conditions of the golf course. Very smooth greens, fairly quick and little break. If you missed a putt, it was your fault. Fairways had nice height and rough was ready to play from. For the $49, might make this a weekly stop with my golf buddies.
We were in the pub side listening to a duo- 2wice as Nice- Barbara & Doug. Excellent music and pizza. I especially liked the display to honor our missing/pows. Ooorah!

I got the buffalo chicken quesadilla. It comes with blue cheese in it, which I liked because it gave a unique flavor. The quesadilla had good flavor but was not over powering in spice. All of the food was fresh. Upon arriving we were immediately offered a water bowl and service was great from there on out! The restaurant is casual and open mostly serving bar foods. Prices were fair and on par for the area.
Went to WOB on a Wed and saw this sign on the table and ordered the wings. My son had a coke and I had water. Came back on Mon for the burger special (also advertised on same sign) ordered 2 burgers, a coke for my son and water for me. At which time the waitress says you have to order a beverage to get the burger deal. I said I don't drink soda, sugary drinks or alcohol, I just drink water, so she went to get the manager. When the manager came, I pointed out that NO WHERE ON THE TABLE SIGN DOES IT SAY YOU HAVE TO ORDER A BEVERAGE. And that we ordered the wings the other day without the beverage. She rudely said that is the policy even if not written. I said I didn't want a soda, but if you feel you need to charge me for 1, that's not great customer service. I drank water and they charged me $3.50 for it. I can understand policies if you post them, but nothing. Won't return here again.
Had a nice meal on the patio listening to the band nearby. The WOB salad was great!! Our server, Dennis, was super friendly, knowledgeable about the beer meaning, and attentive.
My husband loved the beer flights and the bibambop was delicious! Was only able to visit once before it closed but we wish it opens again so we can experience it again!
Nicole was amazing!! The wings are the best thing I’ve ever eaten! The dessert was to die for!
Five stars is not enough to praise the phenomenal service we received from Dennis during my wife's retirement dinner. He was a consummate professional from start to finish, ensuring every detail was perfect without being intrusive. Dennis was truly Johnny-on-the-spot and went above and beyond to make my wife feel celebrated and special on her big night. We are so grateful for his exceptional service and will definitely be back!
Went there last night on a busy Halloween for the restaurant, we had a large group with no reservation. The manager went out of his way to accommodate us and our group. The service was outstanding. Our server was on top of everything from getting us our food and he was on the spot with getting us drinks. Overall a great time with great service!!
World of beer has an amazing atmosphere and awesome employees! We only go on weekdays to see Dustin he is one of our favorite bartenders in brownwood! They also have a great gluten free selection definitely recommend asking to get the gluten free chicken wings cooked longer I’ve had them twice and they’ve never fully been cooked but literally everything else on the gluten free menu is amazing! Definitely recommend the truffle fries and flatbreads!

What a nice experience we had. It was like a stroll down memory lane with everything from furniture and glassware to record albums and toys from our childhood days! And the team of people working at Traditions Antiques could not have been nicer and more helpful. If you are looking for a wide variety of antiques, I highly recommend spending a couple of hours here!
Like most of these places they sell overpriced items many priced 3x what it’s worth. I dont like the vendors who basically clean out closets or go to goodwill and open a booth selling mostly junk. Then you have vendors selling Disney paintings that are being sold currently for 399 at the art store in Disney springs yet this vendor is selling the same item still available for 1000. JuSt highway robbery
Stop that this place a year ago while travel in and did the same thing. This dear great place.Lots and lots of good stuff.Need hours to go through the whole place...
Came in from Tampa on Mother’s Day. The store was in beautiful order with lots of things to look through. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Even had a bucket of single stem flowers for moms to take one on their way out. We got through the whole store in about an hour. Was able to find a bowl I had been searching for which was exciting. Prices were set by each individual vendor but nothing seemed “overpriced”. Would absolutely stop back in if we were in the area
I love this place!! My husband and I stopped here while coming home from a drive to Texas. They have an amazing collection of treasures and prices are extremely reasonable. Yes, you will be spending some money on the treasure you find (this is NOT thrift style shopping - these people have done the searching for you and that is what you are paying for). Sooooo very grateful we saw the sign for the store by accident ! My gunne sax Victorian style dress dreams came true..a long with a couple other things we found.... BIG THANK YOU TO THE PEOPLE WHO COLLABORATED TO MAKE THIS PLACE WHAT IT IS!!! 💖
Great antique mall. So much to look at. Two floors. Lots of vendors with good prices. Plan on spending several hours shopping. We had a blast. Friendly staff. They have lots of old stuff other malls don't have.
Well curated shop with quality content and friendly staff. No jammed in "booths" with cheap thrift shop finds here. No matter your taste you will find something you love here. Make this one a destination One word of caution - check the prices. Vendors in Wildwood seems to be very proud of their stuff.
So much stuff to see. I saw how big the place was on the outside, but once inside it kept going and going and going. You've got to give yourself hours to really see everything and hunt around for what you are looking for or whatever strikes your fancy at the moment. It's definitely fun seeing items I remember from my childhood home or my grandparents. There are lots of collectibles in a lot of different price ranges. As it is set up booth style, with different vendors, the prices for similar items can vary, so be sure you keep looking if you want a deal.

This place is a hidden gem. Great micro brew and wine offerings. Sangria slush is fun. The food is great. Live entertainment. Plenty of outdoor seating. Great staff. Will be back!!
Delicious food...we had the cheeseboard and the bacon chicken ranch pizza. Lil confusing regarding where the table is but that's because of the eclectic layout...the stuff that makes this place cool. Expect food to take a bit but well worth the wait! Bartender gave us plenty of samples, which was really nice because I may have regretted full glass decisions otherwise. They should offer bug spray when the sun goes down, otherwise it was beautiful and off the beaten path...nice when you're from ocala!
We have visited Backyard Barn, at least a dozen times, in the past year. It is one of our favorite places to go. Great find, in a beautiful rural setting; just minutes from The Villages. I've enjoyed their craft brews...especially the rye IPA, though they also make their own wine. The food menu is not extensive, but everything we've tried has been very tasty, and fairly priced. We like how you can open a tab on your credit card, and any server can help you out, when needed. The service is friendly and attentive, and the owner always acknowledges us, when he sees us.
Great day today listening to live music, an awesome wine, beer and food menu with a rustic feel and a good vibe......
The backyard Barn is absolutely a must. Food is fantastic beers and wines Galore live music great people. Went for a first time about a year ago and have been back at least 10 times since. Highly recommend the peanut butter Porter. Sounds weird tastes amazing. The wife and I both love it. Also the wings and sandwiches are some of the best around
Great Beer, bad customer service! The place looks awesome! Just not inviting. We walked in at 4pm and they close at 6pm so 2 hrs before close. Chairs were already put a few people at the bar but the staff was already cleaning and closing down. We order a flight went outside around 4:45 we came back in everyone had left and they were moping the floors and vacuuming. We ordered a pint and was told last call was soon all before 5pm! Beautiful venue but I wouldn't go back till they fixed their customer service issues. We left at 5:15 well before closing. We would have order more but again it felt we were more of a burden than anything else.
Really cool place. Great Outdoor seating area with fire pits and live music. The beer selection was good but the pizza was so so. Very basic selection of pizzas, no ricotta selections. They did have wings and calzones that I didn't try. The crust needs some improvement. If you're going for beer and a good atmosphere this would be a good place to be.
Went in and was having a great time and they had a great atmosphere. With that said, just to clarify before the review below. I purchased a round of drinks for our friends and had 2 beers myself. We ordered food and it came and they messed up the pizza my wife ordered. I ate a piece while she was in the restroom and come to find out it was the wrong pizza. We were notified we could have the wrong pizza or they could make another one. I asked if my wife could try it before we decide. She proceeded to tell us that we would have to pay for both pizzas if she took a bite. I told her to just remake it and she was rude commenting as she walked away. I then went immediately to bar to cancel the pizza and asked to pay. The owner then took the pizza to the couple surrounding tables asking If they wanted a free pizza. What a joke. I did have to show a special finger the owner as he stared me down at the bar as no one wanted the pizza. The owner then calls the police after our friends wanted to explain the situation and he then told the police that we were all drunk and causing a seen. We were calm and it was quite a joke. If you have issues when ordering food, please don't make comments to staff/ownership and expect them to make it right. They won't fix it and will turn it on you and call the police. It's a shame because it's a great atmosphere. Last words, what a douchebag and I'll never return. Unfortunately spent too much $$$ there. Don't go if your wanting good customer service.

Sandy has a GREAT arts and gift shop sponsoring local artists. And she offers lots of interesting classes. Took the shell resin class last week and taking stained glass in Nov. Very nice quality and unique wares. It will be a frequent visit for me.
Riding around Steinhatchee taking things from the debris out by the road. These things still belong to the people who lost them in Hurricane Helene. They are still their things until the trash people pick them up and carry them off. Then you can go down there and grab what you want. Get out of our town and stop making money off our loss! You’re despicable
A fun art studio and gift shop. The owner was very nice and you can tell she has a true passion for her business. One of the neatest bathrooms you will find in any store!!
This is a quaint store with local artists presenting their artwork. Classes are available if you want to learn how the create beautiful art. I meet the owner. Sandy is super nice. This is a must see.
Absolutely the cutest store!! Very colorful! Sandra was extremely friendly and helpful. She gives you a brief run-down of where the stuff comes from. Craft classes are done here also!!
I was refused service because I was not wearing a mask. The woman at the front counter stood there like a security guard, masked, and “asked” me if I had a mask. I didn’t, and she directed me to a basket of dirty unpackaged masks next to the door, and told me I cannot shop there unless I wear one. Um, no thanks. I left. Surprised this lack of cleanliness and hygiene is even allowed in Florida. While standing there I did get a quick view of the artwork and it looked amateurish, so I don’t think I missed anything. I recommend shopping at one of the many outdoor art booths in the squares at Villages on the weekends.
Wonderful little gem! All items in the store are hand crafted by local artists. Jewelry, mosaic, paintings, clothing and more. Offer in-house craft classes too.
Gilded Matilda's is friendly exciting and fun to be at. A real surprise when you open the door. I signed up for art classes. Can't wait.

Very clean and organized library! There are plenty of tables to work at, couches to read at, computers to use, and even some study rooms! The staff is polite and kind. I thoroughly enjoy this library and having access to these facilities! 📚
Was here at Sumter County offices to drop off my ballot for 2020 election. There was a caravan of hundreds of Democrat voters in golf carts that were able to put their ballots in drop boxes. A very swift operation
The staff is always rude whether when checking out a book or borrowing tape. They don’t fax 30 mins before closing. The library is small, not a lot to select from
Using their computers while visiting the area. Their Internet provider, CenturyLink, makes using the Internet all but impossible. The librarian tells me this is especially true on Saturdays, but it's disappointing to see such piss-poor streaming quality in 2023. You locals deserve better! Would love to see a change in Internet providers and upgrade from, what, Windows XP? And, as for the computer stations, a nice dusting.
What a horrid telephone call i system. You'll wear out your fingers on options leading you nowhere. That said, if you go in person to the libraries, they are among the best I have encountered nationwide. Fix the phones.
Excellent staff and a ton of free services!
Pretty good selection of DVDs and I was able to log on in the computer lab to research other titles. Easily renewed my card...who knew you should do that every 2 years! Staff was very helpful.
Absolute garbage. One of the county tax collector employees named Caitland ran into me while I was walking through the inner entrance into the library. I am a disabled veteran. She was walking 2 abreast with someone else and did not even try to give right of way for me walking into the passageway. I tried to flag her down and she avoided me but eventually responded in the lobby. It doesn't help when your employees are overweight and inconsiderate towards others. Actually it's dangerous towards people with disabilities. Caitland ought to be fired. The sad truth is Florida's libraries are filled with Caitlands who make going to the library unsafe. It's pathetic what you've done to America!

Deb was wonderful sales person she kept me informed from the day. I ordered the bike till the day I picked it up. Always greets everyone with a smile and very knowledgeable about the subject of the bike and accessories.. Thank you.
Great store with a great staff. The staff was very helpful with my purchase of a new bike, not pushy and made many suggestions and were able to answer my questions. Very good selection of bikes and accessories.
I needed to have a quick inspection of my brakes. Thought I was leaving my bike in Florida, decided to take it to Pennsylvania. I am at Umatilla and Wildwood is a long drive. Bought my Trek in Tavares. Guys at Wildwood serviced my brakes never having met me. Appreciated it. Probably will buy a "Florida" bike from them next winter.
I loved the quality of the bike. But the guys at wildwood are so informative that I know I bought the right bike for me. If I have a problem, I know they will help resolve it with me. It was like joining a club and gaining a family. They can answer any questions you have and more. When I walked out, I felt like I got a great bike and right price. Thank you.
Staff are very knowledgeable, always ready to help, service is timely and always excellent. There is a good selection of bike parts and accessories. They go out of their way to make sure your bike needs are taken care of.
Great bikes - got exactly what I wanted and didn't feel pressured to buy more than I could handle or want. Great service and people!

Great prices considering they are close to the Florida Turnpike so it’s a tourist route. The Lady at the register showed traditional southern hospitality. She was great at communicating and had fantastic customer service. We are glad we decided to make that pit stop and recommend her to all.
Great spot to check out for tourist. There are plenty of Florida stuff here. The jams and jellies were impressive. They had fresh fruits and onions too. The juice and all the other stuff were a little bit expensive but that makes sense. They even had Orange trees for sale.
Love the soaps they sell. The lady there is always nice and helpful, knows her stuff. Aisles are rather narrow, but there is not a lot of space wherein to move things around. Great things sold there though. Much preferred over the "florida citrus centers".
The old lady working there should not be working with customers. She was rude and acted like she was above selling me raw honey. I asked her a question and she might as well told me to leave. She was also rude to the person in front of me so I guess it wasn’t personal. I don’t get why these types of places are even in business if they don’t want to deal with customers. Try the place right across the street instead. Much nicer people, better prices, and better products.
Guy working was completely rude. Raising his voice at my son because he was putting a orange juice back like I ask him to do. My son is 6 years old and was doing what I ask him to do. Guy assumed he was just messing around when he wasn’t.
My husband just brought back a 5 lb bag of Tangarines he said they were 17 dollars at that price I don't think they will be in business long
They have great citrus fruit and trees but their hours are too limited, I'm a trucker who has stopped twice to buy trees and they have been closed.
What an amazing place!! Stopped in for fresh fruit for the holiday with my kid's and not only did they have amazing fruit but the best customer service and cheer ...I will be stopping more often.

My girlfriend and I had an amazing experience mostly do to the host Britney. The campsite was super clean and we loved ever moment of it. The hiking trails are awesome and Britney’s recommendation of going down to the creek and bridge was awesome. You need a reservation, and make sure you book it with at least 24 hours notice. My only recommendation is that there was a lack of firewood available around the campsite so you’re gonna have to bring your own or go into the trails to find it. We will definitely be back, it was a blast!! Thank you Britney!!
The camp was well maintained, and the gentleman host was very nice. There are these huge ant hills that are intimidating if you are not a Florida native, but they were not loaded with ants. We just stepped around them. The bathrooms were clean and even had TP. We camped in the field next to the horse stalls. The wooded area will be my next spot. Lots of shady Oaks and also sun close enough to a camp table. Some spots had fire pits. We got the last one. I would stay again.
Beautiful FLA scenery. Huge campsites for dry camping. Dogs welcomed. Flush toilets, non-potable water, Camp Host on-site and no gate access code required; though reservations are mandatory. Peaceful. This place is so quiet and a throwback to old florida. Check out an off-leash dog park nearby. Then grab a fresh, delicious lunch (porch dinning) at Catfish Johnny's. This is the first dog-friendly trail that I've found so far. We will be back.
It was a cool trail to start our Florida vacation with. There was plenty of shade and plenty of sun. We hiked late in the day. No bugs. We saw a wild hog and her little ones. We only hiked part of the trail and I kept losing my gps signal.
We drive by sometimes but never had stopped. It was really nice except for boat and trailer parking. That is actually across the street and looks like a real pain. You have to come in here..unload your boat..leave it go back out across traffic in a curve with everyone speeding...cross the street.park ...then walk back over...doesn't look fun or very practical. Especially if it's during one of our lovely summer storms and everyone tries to bail at the same time.
It is free place to camp here. Huge open space, one or two fire rings for one row. Toilet house, and running water.. However, registration is required online at Southwest Florida Water Management District lands website. I would think during winter is okay to stop, register at the gate and spend night here. In cold February it was pretty open. Lot of RVs, they were running generators. Looking on the map, its trails 👣 and lake close by.
3☆☆☆ My friend and I went birding here. We saw very little. It was probably to late in the day. 4 ☆☆☆☆There are some lovely trails, a great area to go camping
Great camping but LOTS of ticks. Bring your tweezers! Nice hiking trail. Watch out for the snakes! Tried to walk to the lake. No success. Couldn't find a path. Oh, and the flies. So many flies biting me along the trail. Don't forget the DEET!

We did the Christmas tour. The house was decorated beautifully. There was a volunteer in every room sharing the family history and what that room was used for. Very informative and entertaining.
How to tour today for about an hour and 10 minutes really enjoyed it great inside to the house and the history definitely worth the $15.
We went to see the Christmas decorations and will return to get the regular historic tour after the holidays.
Contact the parks department for a private visit to view inside the house.
History and beauty, it's just so hard to believe how far we have come up advancements the human race has made.

Very friendly staff, rooms are comfy & clean. Great breakfasts. Enjoyed our stay very much.
Do yourself a favor and DO NOT stay here. The 4.2 rating they have is definitely of their own making. IT STINKS...had rooms reserved for a few weeks and tried to change it after the first and the hotel would not cancel the reservation so forced to stay at a hotel that is making very uncomfortable. It smells on all floors not just the 3rd floor. Until they do allow the group to cancel said reservation I will get anyone and everyone I know to write reviews stating the unpleasantness forced upon them.
It was just OK because the 3rd floor we were on stunk very bad. Like rotten cabbage bad and they had our room heavily odorized to mask it and it set off my slight asthma. They claimed they had no other room to move us to. Late last night and early this morning I looked at the parking lot and it was 25% parking full. So I don't believe them that they didn't have another room to move us to. Cost $202! We slept pretty good. The place is dated and you can even see dust or mold in the ceiling tiles in the hallway. I would not choose this hotel again. Also, the couch had an obvious "act" stain on the edge of the Cushion so I wouldn't sit on it.
