I recently took a VIP tour with my friend, and it was amazing! Taking a tour of this amazing place is a must! The tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable and so was everyone else we met. We took a tour on a weekday, which was great as we were the only ones on the tour!
Wonderful tour and tour guide. Amazing to be where so much great music was made! I recommend the tour to all music lovers. It brought back many fond memories!
Amazing history of the recording industry. Some major artists have jammed in studio B and recorded chart toping hits in studio A. Big time results from a small town studio. Artists across all genres have made this studio a mecca for spectacular music.
This studio overflows with the history of music from six decades of rock, soul, and country royalty. The Rolling Stones recorded Brown Sugar at Fame (Florence Alabama Music Enterprises). Aretha Franklin, Jerry Reed, Mac Davis all made albums and recorded songs there. Many famous modern bands like Alabama and singers like Jennifer Hudson, Kid Rock, Cher and Alan Jackson have also recorded in the studios. The tour guides know great, untold stories and describe how different areas of the two studios are used to obtain different musical sounds. Many even play the music that artists recorded. If you are lucky Linda Hall, founder Rick Hall's wife, will tell stories about the music stars of the 60s through today. Priceless memoriabilia, original equipment and a league of great musicians in the area guarantee that the studio will continue turning out hits and gold records for new generations of listeners all around the world.
Fame Recording Studios Date Visited 20/9/24 The studio is located at the busy crossroads of Woodward and Avalon, not the most inviting looking building but it is what it is. We were greeted by Linda (Rick Halls wife) who still works and greets visitors on a daily basis, she was genuinely interested in where we were from and we chatted for a while prior to our studio tour. $20 for the standard tour was great value for what you learn and see on a very comprehensive tour of both A & B studios, my favourite was most definitely B but that was personal choice really! Our guide was very knowledgable and friendly taking time to cover all aspects of the studios. Non flash photography was encouraged but like most places no video recording was allowed, if I can give any advice, watch the Muscle Shoals Story on YouTube it really will help you understand what you are looking at and the people that are being discussed within the studios history. To sum up if you love music and you’re in town, you Must visit Fame Studios you will not be disappointed.
Great music history! A definite must go.
Interesting tour. Fun to be in the room where Aretha Franklin and many others recorded our favorite songs.
I drove from Kentucky a day early to visit FAME Studio on Thursday November 13th and arrived there at 8:45 am for the advertised 9am tour. No one was there, building was all locked up. No one answered the phone. We were so disappointed. We found out that they were closed the entire day due to a staff offsite outing. It would have been nice for them to reveal that on their website or put a notice on their door.

Beautiful facility. Course layout was awesome. Multiple sets of tees to accommodate all golfers. Well stocked pro shop. Starters were friendly and helpful. Conditions were very good even with change in seasons. Greens were quick and tricky. Enjoyed my day here. Thank you.
RTJ run the best golf operations I’ve experienced. From the moment you arrive you’ll quickly see it’s a first class operation. We had breakfast and thanks to Ariel’s excellent service we all enjoyed our time. I ordered the Three Egg omelette, which was cooked to perfection. My friend ordered the fruit plate FRESHLY prepared and full of flavor. Highly recommend eating on the back patio to enjoy the beautiful views! The course was in EXCELLENT shape and the maintenance crews keep it in FIRST CLASS CONDITION. We’ll be back!
I have always loved shooting weddings at The Shoals! Christine ( event coordination) is by far the best part! She truly cares about her clients and making sure that everyone is taken care of. The view and grounds are stunning and make for a dream for any event!
One of the BEST RTJ courses, we all had a great time (8 guys), and location is the best of all. Excellent view of Lake Wilson
My favorite course in AL. Beautiful course and views. Extraordinary design. Wide fairways lined by deep rough, multiple cut depths, perfect greens, trees, sand, and elevation changes. Come and experience what PGA pros and amateurs feel like playing great courses. DON'T BE A DOUCHBAG AND SAND YOUR FAIRWAY SHOTS AND FIX YOUR DIVOTS ON THE GREEN. This place is a church of golf in AL. Revere it. Respect yourself and treat yourself. Elevate your golf experience.
This is a great place to play golf with two great courses and a nice practice area. The only issue with RTJ at the Shoals is the condition of the greens. The rains this year have made it difficult to maintain them, I’m sure. Hopefully they can improve. I would hope that the greens would be changed to hybrid Burmuda, but obviously I don’t have a vote on that.
Course was nice. We were a twosome and had an incredibly slow group of guys in front of us. Took over 5 hours to play our round of golf. Never asked us to play through. No rangers on the course and when I did mention it at the end of our round, I was dismissed. Not sure if we would go back. Another issue, the teal markers on our tee box were not replaced after maintenance finished making it hard to find. Seems the other tee markers were all in place. As a female golfer, we are taught pace of play and ready golf. Too bad everyone doesn't follow that rule. Food was good on the patio and service as well.
Played 54 holes. 2 rounds on Fighting Joe, 1 on SchoolMaster. Fighting Joe fairways were in pristine condition. Greens were really ball marked. It was scheduled for aerification the next week so I guess people were just being lazy. Few greens had some bad spots on them but overall very playable as always just a little less attractive than normal. Schoolmaster fairways were in perfectly good condition, but not quite as lush. Greens were a little better than FJ. Not as ball marked. As always (at least for those of us that don't play them every week), the greens aren't easy. Don't yield a lot of birdies. Overall, courses are consistent. Well maintained, fun but challenging. Weather was perfect which always enhances the experience.

Gerald Murray was awesome. He and the office staff were there for me during the entire process and following. Would definitely buy from them again:)
My boyfriend's grandmother has had nothing but bad luck with her place and she hasn't even been in it a year. She's had a bad water they've had to fix it, her front door is still messed up and still doesn't shut properly, one of her rooms stays hot and she's contacted them about it and still hasn't fixed it. And the past 4 months they been dealing with her stove door being shattered and they are supposed to replace and they still haven't. It's been nothing but hell since they've moved in to the point they are ready to send it back to the lot. And that's not even half of the stuff that's wrong with this place.
We purchased our home on March 23, 2024. Home got delivered on April 18th. Here it is May 13th, and we’re STILL not in our house. We didn’t get the CORRECT KEYS to our house until May 5th. The front door is so fracked up, they are having to order a new one, the back door is still fracked up. The house got flooded over the weekend because the water line to the refrigerator was not installed correctly, so I got to spend Mother’s Day sopping up water and drying out the walls, floor, and insulation. What was supposed to be a joyous time for us to FINALLY have a home of our own has just been a complete nightmare and disappointment. Im not trying to slander, nor belittle any one particular person. I just hope this review helps someone to NOT go through what we are…Update: it’s May 24th and we STILL don’t have a working front door, and they still haven’t installed the underpinning. June 13th, still don’t have a usable front door. I have reported them to the BBB and they can’t even get a response from them. BUYER BEWARE!!! If you want to get thoroughly screwed over, then by all means, purchase your new home through these people. Cause they have made it very clear that they don’t give a crap about their customers.
Hell where do I started got the trailer the movers they hired didn't know what they were doing the fridge ripped off the wall knocked the island off the wall tearing the wall, the fridge door was dented. Had a bad water heater. The fridge has yet to be fixed. Front door was put on the house crooked they have yet to fix it have been asking since we got the trailer in June. Ample amount of trims and boarders that have to be fixed they refuse to get anyone out, they refuse to replace any doors. Asked them to put on under pinning thought took them 3 weeks from that date to even get anyone out there. They'll wait til the warranties up and just say screw you. Worst mistake.
Laura one of the sales people just turn me away because she didn't believe that I had an investor ready to wire her $100,000 for a mobile home to put on one of our many projects that we do around the state of Alabama. Do not work with this company they will screw you!
We went to just look at the mobile homes and get prices and see if we were gonna be approved to even get one and the man we talked to was super nice and helpful. He never once made us feel like we didn't belong there, as others have done in the past upon hearing we didn't have excellent credit scores. This man treated us like anyone else.
A few months ago I went and looked at a few units on the lot and was definitely interested in purchasing one of them, until today. I was almost hit in traffic by Gerald when he went to pull out onto Woodward Avenue from a side street. He then flipped me off as if this was my fault. If this is how they treat potential customers, buyer beware.
Always helpful and friendly faces! My Family has done business with them for years! Great staff!!! And gorgeous homes!!!
