We had a blast doing this! Kudos to Billy and Dakota for making this a lifetime memory! They provide all the necessary equipment. They even cater to those that never fly fished before. It was an experience I will always cherish. The guides were super friendly and helpful! It was cold and rainy, but they made it worthwhile! The article grayling are a blast to catch. If you enjoy fly fishing, don’t miss this opportunity when you come to the Denali area!
Little did we know that when we were able to book a last minute afternoon charter with Denali Fly Fishing Guides, that we would add another memorable adventure experience to our angling résumé❗️ We were picked up at our resort and safely transported to their rustic back country fly shop and set up with waders and off we went on a short drive to the back country to start our trip. We had an exciting and BEAUTIFUL walk through gorgeous country to our river where we IMMEDIATELY (within THREE minutes) hooked up on large Artic Grayling! We are not too experienced on fly, but our guide William gave us some quick pointers that were appreciated and VERY helpful👍❗️ He spotted our fish and was by our side to land them in his net…and took PERFECT pictures with our phones❗️ This was an experience that I recommend for all anglers visiting Denali National Park…thank you Denali Fly Fishing for an unforgettable afternoon🙏❗️
Was warned when I booked that this was their last week fishing because the grayling were moving to big water for the winter. So expectations were low but figured this was only chance we would ever have. Long ride to the spot and a treacherous stream crossing with Troy but he got us into THE spot! My wife and I netted 13 in about 2 hours and Troy was awesome with his coaching, fly selection and landing assist. A very special day we will not forget! Thank you Troy!!!
We had an awesome fishing trip with Ryan our guide. Best fly fishing experience we've ever had. The grayling were fun to catch and the remote wilderness setting was spectacular. Ryan was great and very experienced, sharing a lot of tips and making sure we caught fish. I highly recommend these guys.
My son and I wanted to fish Alaska. We went with Keith who showed us the basics. Then we caught a few arctic grayling. Keith was very knowledgeable, having moved here from Montana. He was friendly, easy to talk to, and great with suggestions. The fishing was tough but, hey, we got to fly fish in Alaska!
We had an amazing time catching artic grayling. Our guide Chris was so helpful and patient helping us fix our casts and getting us in great spots to catch fish. Getting to fly fish in Alaska was a dream come true for my husband. We learned a lot in between catching lots of fish about the wildlife and the park and even got to see Denali on the ride to the river!
We went on a full day walk wade with Chris yesterday. He was awesome. Super knowledgeable and patient. Exactly what you want in a fly fishing guide. He had us all on fish every hole. We caught more than we thought we would but we were not there for volume. We wanted to make a great memory and we definitely did that.
My dad and I recently went on our first vaccinated vacation to Alaska, and decided when researching guided fly-fishing trips that Denali Fly Fishing Guides was the way to go. Rick was clearly knowledgable of the area and was wonderful to book with, and our guide Brian made sure that we learned the basics while putting endless effort into helping us land the stream's graylings. Covid has undoubtably had an impact on local businesses throughout the state, and this is one that I would highly recommend you lend your support to if you're traveling through the area and looking to wade into some of the most beautiful streams in all of Alaska. All gear is included, and we had a great time!

An absolute must bucket list trip.
We took the first Tundra Wilderness Tour (TWT) of the day at 6 am on May 25. Gorgeous day, excellent driver/guide in Becky as 25-year veteran of the Park, and blessed to get great views of Denali and wildlife.

We had the best time in July. These dogs just love to run and get so anxious to go when we stop for some breaks. They are well loved and it shows. Was very informative to learn about the Iditarod race with their gear.
One of the best experiences in Alaska! We love dogs, so the trip with Richie was a great experience for us. Lovely hosts who live a passion that can only be envied. A wonderful house in which we did not miss anything. Nearby there is a wonderful stream where you can have a good time. I dream of going back there!
Ritchie & Emily do such a great job explaining how and what they do and all that goes into raising and taking care of their beautiful dogs. Humble and loving - so eager to share their life love. Do yourself a favor and make the time to go by and check them out.
Amazing! Had lots of fun and learned a lot. The dogs were very friendly and so cute! The route we took was also very scenic and pretty with the snow topped mountains and mist. Hosts were amazing and clearly very experienced, answered every single one of my questions easily and were super nice. Highly recommend to anyone in the area!
This tour was perfect from start to finish! Richie and Emily were exceptional guides. They took us on a great ride where we got to see the dogs work their magic. They explained the day to day care and demands of caring for their team and were very thorough with their explanations. We learned all about the process of preparing for the Iditarod. We also had a clear view of Denali as a bonus!
We had an absolute blast at Widthingz! Richie and Emily were amazing and taught us a lot about mushing and the Iditarod. All the dogs were very friendly and interacted well with our kids. Our 9 year old did not want to leave!!
We had an amazing time on the dog mush tour, a highlight of our trip to Alaska! Emily and Richie are so wonderful and so knowledgeable, and really living the life up there! The dogs are the sweetest too. We also stayed at the site in the tent, and had the best time there too! Cannot recommend more highly.
I can not say enough great things about this business. It was such a fun interactive learning experience with Emily and Richie. The dogs and the owners love what they do and it shows. Besides learning something about Mushing you will come away with an appreciation of what it takes to travel 1000 miles with a team of dogs. You must schedule a tour and visit this amazing couple. Check them out on IG and FB as well.
