These folks host the annual 4th of July Car Launch. Full hook up RV parking is limited. There is more space for boondocking than actual hook ups. Great pizza place too. 100 miles north of Palmer, 6 hour drive from Fairbanks.
Such an awesome experience! Took my mom here from out of state and we both had a blast! They are friendly and very knowledgeable. We loved the beautiful views of Matanuska Glacier & Matanuska River. If you wanna go zip lining- go here!
Went ziplining for the first time today on a total whim, and I’m SO glad we did. Elizabeth and Emerson were truly awesome—super kind, patient, and down to earth. My friend’s kid was really nervous at first, but they took the time to interact with her, boost her confidence, and reassure her the ten (or maybe twenty) times she asked if anyone had ever died. 😂 Many high-fives were had when she finally decided to take the leap. It made the whole day feel extra special. Super grateful for their expertise and for an awesome experience, living out my Nat Geo dreams one zipline at a time. PS: Silver lining of being near the higher end of the weight limit: achieving near-supersonic speeds upon descent ⚡️💨😂
Good but maybe not great zip line, just one line you ride twice. Yes, it is fast, but just one line. The staff are friendly and helpful, but somewhat cavalier regarding equipment safety - my primary harness came loose from the trolly upon impacting the brake and thankfully the secondary remained attached. The staff seemed little concerned about this somewhat frightening failure. Regardless, if you dare, there is a nice package available with a MICA guided tour of the Matanuska Glacier.
We had the BEST time zipping with Ryan and Emma!! They took awesome pictures of us and made sure we were educated about the zip and the GLAY. Such a fun day!!! That second tower is so fast!!!
We booked the zipline at Matanuska Glacier to end our 2 week family vacation that began with several days in Vancouver, Canada, included a 7 night Alaskan cruise, and ended in Anchorage. Of all the activities and excursions we participated in during this trip (there were many), this was hands down the best thing we did! This was our first time zip lining, and I was worried my kids age 9, 11, 13, were going to chicken out. However, the guides were fantastic, and made us feel really comfortable. My kids wanted to go again once it was over! The drive is a bit far from Anchorage, but the views along the drive were incredible. We chose this zipline over another that was a shorter drive, and so glad we did. Their website was very clear on their refund and cancellation policy. We allotted a couple of extra hours in case of road construction so that we wouldn’t be late. That allowed us to hike trails nearby. The entire area is beautiful.
The guides were great -- two young female workers (Gina and Madison) and their senior (Alec), all enthusiastic and cheerful, drove us to two points for the double zipline. The first line gets you to about 20-30 mph fast while the second one gets you to 60-65 mph fast. If the wind is too much, they cancel the second zipline and refund you 50%. But luckily in our case, the wind was just about the right speed to let us take the second zipline. It was a great experience.
I took my daughter there for her birthday and the instructors Alexic and Leania were both very knowledgeable and helpful during the whole experience. This was our first time, I would highly recommended it. My daughter and I will definitely do again sometime.

What an incredible hike! I was expecting just a blah snow trail with a giant group of strangers, but our group was pretty small and the hike was such an adventure. (It’s $60 for Alaskans and military vets, and $150 each for everyone else. Restrooms are in the gift shop/pay station and in the gear station, where they provide helmets. Crampons are provided later on.) Our guide Kate was awesome; she told us tons of glacier facts, let us take our time and take pictures of whatever we wanted, let us explore nooks and crannies, and took pics for us. The views were gorgeous; we went from hot sunny temps to freezing cold, crossed from rocky terrain to the slippery ice, and climbed through blue ice canyons. We drank glacial water and put glacial mud on our faces. Super fun! Bring a ziploc bag or something to bring back glacial mud in, for a skin-care-lover’s souvenir.
What's to say... It's a glacier and you can drive to it. I will repeat it's a glacier you can drive to... So go do it! As you would expect there is some amount of physicality needed since you are walking on a glacier. But there are guides and equipment available (and required). We went with a small tour group, but I am told that you can also walk up.
Wonderful place! You can look at the glacier with a few steps to walk. Nice and quiet camp sites. Washrooms are very clean.
Fantastic scenery. I was here in Mid October and the glacier was visible from the road
Beautiful area for viewing the valley and Glacier. The views are expansive, stretching for miles. The Glacier stretches into the distance and around the mountain out of site. There is a short trail (one mile) that leads to different views with informative signs describing what you are seeing. We had a picnic her at one of the many tables available. All in all, this is a great place to visit.
There’s a small day-use fee, I think it was $5 or $7, can’t remember exactly. You just get the envelope from the parking lot and put money in there then put it in a box. It’s a nice green space for picnic and family hangout. Nice short trail to the viewpoint of Matanuska Glacier, lots if mosquitoes on the trail. There are plenty of restrooms around.
Such an amazing place on earth. Totally love it.
Worth the drive from Anchorage. One mile hiking trail that's a nice break from the car ride. The trail is not flat due to tree roots and there are slightly steep portions. The additional view points with information are great.

Amazing place! From the friendly staff to the stellar guides, this place is the only place to Heli ski in Alaska. Their lodge was super accommodating, welcoming, and comfortable. The food was incredible, and every meal was executed to perfection. We enjoyed looking out at the mountains every morning. You seriously can't get enough of the beautiful scenic views here, both in the helicopter and at the lodge. We had three days of Heli skiing, but Mother Nature had another plan. We got one day in, and the guides did their absolute best to get us out again, but no luck...... and that's the gamble of this experience. Brightside, they had super fun cross country skiing and other activities to do. I can't say enough how magical this experience was, I can't recommend this company enough for your next heli ski trip.
We don't even know where to start. The drive up had endless beautiful views. Arriving, the lodge and property looked amazing and felt comfortable immediately. Check in was easy and the room incredibly clean and modern. On top of the unmatched views was the staff. We felt at home right away and left feeling like family. Njord and everyone there have created a gem in the Chugach. We guarantee we will be back and it won't be soon enough. Thank you to everyone at Majestic. Please say hi to Blondie. Pete ~n~ Lisa.
Majestic lodge was amazing! Fantastic people, amazing food, and great cabins! The view is absolutely majestic and the hot tub is wonderful! Highly recommend this spot if you are cruising around Alaska.
We wanted to experience Alaska and heli-ski. Majestic Heli Ski was a total touchdown!! Awesome lodge and staff, top shelf guides and "boss" helicopter pilots! Absolutely recommend for a 5-star time!
Great experience! The ski area is immense and the runs are incredible with scenic views all along. Very good and friendly guides, nice staff, good food.
Amazing views, nice lodging, accomodations, and the staff is incredible!
Only the facts ! We were a group of 8 friends and we went to this lodge for one week of heliski. If the ski was ok, the lodge quality is definitively not at the quality level expected for this expensive vacation. They sold to our travel agency that the number of guests is limited to 16 customers for 2 helicopters in order to have more privacy, which was a important criteria for us. Indeed, 25 customers were there. Hence, our group was divided by 2. Four of us had a bedroom inside the main lodge when the four others were sent in two “cabane” at 200m far away from the lodge. So we had to walk in the cold every morning and evening to have breakfast, dinner and to go to sleep, for the same price as the other guests. For a such expensive trip this is not acceptable. In addition, the cabane decoration was outdated from the 70’s and the mattress were very poor quality. Mine, for example wasn’t flat and very soft, which is definitively not comfortable for having a good rest after an intensive ski day. The food was very common, and the bar maid really not professional, bringing wine bottle for free and then asking to pay for it. In addition, they charge us back for the vertical not performed 3 months later, after having requested many time to get our money back, definitively not professional from their side. I definitively do not recommend this place, there are so many other competitors, with nice hotels, nice bedrooms, nice mattress, and professional employees.
Very Beautiful, we really enjoyed our stay.
