I have watched golfers come out in the fog since 2021. The course is beautiful, the café has great snacks and refreshments and there's always a breeze.
It makes me sad to write this review but after the last few rounds at this course it has to be done. I have played this course most of my adult life and I am disgusted with what is happening here. The greenskeeper here should be ashamed of themselves and should quit immediately. In the last year the conditions of this place have spiraled out of control. This used to be the go to course that was well kept all year round but sadly that is not the case now. My question for the management here is what happened? How can a course that was so well kept decline so rapidly? Today will be the last time I play here unless they figure out how to recover from this. Unfortunate because I used to love this course.
Very nice layout and course in good condition. Greens rolled true and fairways have excellent conditions. Old school Central Florida golf course with lots of elevation.
AWESOME GOLF COURSE! Wife & I just played the course for the first time Wednesday. After playing several courses in the area Twisted Oaks truly impressed! It became quite evident as to why Twisted Oaks continues to receive The Chronicle's Best-of-the-Best Award! I'd also like to give a "BIG THANK YOU" to PGA Professional Craig M. who helped us get acclimated. Thanks Coach! Wife & I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TWISTED OAKS GOLF CLUB!
Everywhere anywhere near crystal have no greens unless u want to pay 100+++. This is the spot I will be coming back no doubt great greens nice grass expect on tee boxes. That is fine no doubt tho great spot worth the money for now hope they don’t bump the price.
Great layout. Conditions now are just okay due to dormant grass. Greens are true but very slow. The back nine is in better shape and much more interesting.
We have had a home base in Ocala for a little over 5 years. Played a lot of the courses both public and private within a couple hour radius of Ocala. My wife and I both love Twisted Oaks. The course is in good shape and the staff is always accommodating. Even on busy days play flows well. This is our go to place now. We feel very comfortable at Twisted Oaks, it's well kept, fairly priced and challenging. Our interaction with the staff and fellow golfers has been excellent.
I had golf lessons with Craig and at the end of five lessons, he improved every part of my game. I can’t swing like I used to when I was younger, and he helped me with everything that I was having problems with. I would definitely recommend him!

Played this course a few years ago, it was very rough at best at that time. Played today and am excited to see the improvements made! Greens are looking very good, and fairways are looking great and much improved as well. We will be back, it is very well priced and looking forward to the future for this course! Coming back strong! Thanks new owners!
Average driving range and ok golf course. We went on a Saturday afternoon and there was only one other person on the range and very few cars in the parking lot. I will be back just because the place isn't that busy which is appealing to me.
I've been playing there for a few years now and it's not a bad course. they must have had a big turnover in help in the past month, the fairways were bad, the sand traps were like concrete, and the greens were rough (terrible really). I played the back 9 today, Oct 17, 2018. I was really surprised at how much better the course looked. the new management seems to be working hard to bring the fairways and greens back. thank you.
Beautiful Golf Course. Major improvements have been made on the Course since they got new Management stepped in a few months ago and the Staff is super nice. I have met the Owner, Bryan and the other Golf Instructor, Chris. They're both gentlemen and professional. I couldn't be any happier. I took my first lesson today from Chris and he was excellent and hands on giving me a visual which helped me understand better on what I need to do and how I can improve my Golf game. He's also very understanding. I will continue to go back and take lessons again at Pine Ridge
Jan 2019. Pine Ridge Golf course is under new ownership/management since the summer of 2018. The previous owners allowed the course to deteriorate almost beyond repair and it was in HORRIBLE condition. The new owners have made tremendous improvements to the course. There is now grass in the fairways and on the tee boxes and there is a continuous effort on improving the greens. The office and maintenance staff are very friendly and welcoming. The course is not in absolutely perfect condition yet but if one considers the condition it was in a mere year ago, it is shaping up beautifully!
I want to start by saying the layout is awesome. Very scenic and beautiful. However the tee boxes are hideous and the greens are extremely horrible. The only way to fix this course would be to shut it down for at least 6 months and do a major amount of work. Me and my son played a round there yesterday and it got to a point that once we reached the green we picked the ball up. Very poor shape.
Played 9 holes today and had lunch after. They just got a new course maintenance crew hired, so expect the course to improve. Their rates were good and they are on their way to returning to proper form. Yvonne helped us out at the bar with drinks and lunch and was nice as can be. Wings and flatbread pizzas were excellent! And the prices were very reasonable. Even if you don't play golf, I'd recommend trying out their pub for an afternoon drink and snack break.
A nice experience from start to finish. The staff is top notch. We were very well treated. Some of the greens are in need of a little work but they were true and fast. I was pleased with the overall condition of the course. We will be back to play again, even though it is an hour drive for us, it was worth the time.
