Water & Amusement Parks
Long-running family amusement park featuring roller coasters, a water park, kids' rides & more.

Wonderful amusement park for all ages. My 3 and 1 year old could spend a week there and not get bored. Plenty of rides that little kids can go on, though most of them they will need an adult to ride with them. However there are still plenty of high thrill rides for teens and adults. The water park area is well-designed and well-staffed. I could personally spend the whole day in the water park area alone. The cannonball rollercoaster is great. The lines the day that we went weren't bad at all. Generally 5-10 minutes tops, if not less.
Amusement park price for permanent carnival rides & 1 good old fashion wood coaster. It was the 1st and probably the last time my family & I will visit. Sadly, they did nothing for their 100 year anniversary, but what they need to do is shine up & fix up all the old rides they have. At least retouch up the paint on the ponies 🎠
It's a cute park, but its $45+ fixed price is absurd unless you have young kids. They need to go back to pay-per-ride. The only notable rides for teens/adults are the antique boat chute (purely a novelty) and ACE Landmark wooden coaster (actually pretty good depending where you sit). The rest you can experience at a carnival. Food was good and mostly affordable, charming location.
The rides are fun, those that are open. The park itself is dirty as it gets. Avoid the restrooms behind the tilt a whirl. If we lived closer, its a place I'd buy the annual pass for quick day trips. Love that you can bring your own food and drinks. Huge cost advantage. A fun day with family for sure.
My son and I had a BLAST! They are doing their Halloween festivities now and they did not disappoint! They have a "Thriller parade" where the workers dance the Thriller dance the length of the park. It was cool! And their 2 haunted houses were very spooky too! The haunted train ride is always memorable as well. But my favorite this trip was that my 8 yr old son finally rode the Cannonball Rollercoaster for the 1st time with me! ❤️🤍💙🎃👻
Wow! The nostalgia. I used to visit Lake Winnie as a child. I remember my mother used to talk about her trips as a teen. I’ve not been in years, but as soon as I heard they have a Halloween theme every year I decided I had to go back. We were there on Halloween night. Park wasn’t as packed as I was expecting for it being Halloween. Everyone we interacted with was very friendly. Overall park and bathrooms were clean. Popcorn was tasty. Food was priced very reasonable. Haunts were spooky and fun, but not too scary. My only complaint is where are all the fun gift shops I remember as a child? We only saw one open and items were very limited. I was looking forward to browsing them. I plan on visiting again when park reopens. Hope there are more shops the next time. This place holds a lot of history and memories. I love how the park hasn’t been modernized. Looks like it did 30 years ago. If you want an updated park, go to Six Flags. Don’t mess with perfections. This place still has the old nostalgic feel. I would highly recommend a visit!
I love Lake Winnepesaukah! I have been going to Lake Winnie since I was a child. My son's first visit was to Spookah in 2010 the first year they had it. Lane was just a month old. We haven't missed a year. I also love the water park! the funnel cakes are the best! Can't wait till October!
We went on the 4th of July 2025, and it was too crowded. They did have multiple trash cans assembled all over, but you could smell them a block away. They were not properly spraying the cans out when pulling bags out. The water park was way too overcrowded. The lazy river had so many people in it that you couldn't even see the water; people were lying on top of each other, basically. The lines to the water slides were so long you could maybe ride one of them 2x. Several rides everywhere needed updating maintenance, such as rusted areas, old paint falling off, scary rattling steps, nasty picnic tables that needed pressure washing, and several rides not working. The big wave from the lazy river was not working either. The bumper cars only had a few cars working, which made it no fun. When you would go back and forth between the water park and regular park, they were strict and mean about putting a shirt on, yet they didn't say a word about young girls walking around in thong swimsuits and the tops so skimpy they only covered their nipples. Not child-appropriate when this is a family place. The locker area smelled like rotten urine, as if people would pee when they were getting dressed over there. The whole park needed weed-eating so badly that grass and weeds had grown over everything. The miniature golf course, which charges an extra $4 to play, has mold and mildew all over the course, along with weeds growing out of the ball hole and fencing that needs painting or pressure washing; it's so nasty. It don't get me started with the games! These are such rip-offs and rigged. It's$3 a game and no matter how many people play you when the crappy little price is like a tiny plastic bead necklace. The Ferris wheel would only have 3 carts at a time when it's a 16-cart wheel. I don't know why that was, but it's been that way every time we've gone. We paid for the big cups that you could get $1 refills in, but it was almost impossible to get a refill. Funnel cakes have always been my favorite, but these young kids who make them don't know how to mix the batter properly or cook them right. They come out so thin and like a plate of little Krispies. The gift shop used to be a cool area while looking for what you wanna buy, but they had the exhaust fans that took hot air out and the air off, and it was hotter in there than outside. You didn't even want to look or buy anything. They have tables above the concession stand in front of the lake with big ceiling fans above, but they had those cut off and needed to be on bc it was about 97 degrees that day. In the bathrooms, they were out of a lot of soap. The poor workers were in that sun and heat with no fans except in a few areas. They used to keep the lake nice and clean-looking and sifted out where you could see the big catfish and turtles, but it was disgusting! Trees were overgrown, and stuff was not sanitized properly. This was my favorite place for years, but it's become overcrowded and run down. We spent about $600 to smell nasty stank everywhere. They weren't cleaning trash, etc, probably, and a lot of stuff was broken, rigged, or a rip-off. I'm so disappointed ☹️ I forgot to mention that the lazy river and water park needed cleaning because it was so cloudy looking and you could see pubic hairs, tons of leaves, and filth floating around. They needed more chlorine in the water. They have eating tables with umbrellas in the water park when you order food, but they are all taken up with people's towels, clothes, and shoes that are swimming and not eating. This needs to be stopped! My kids received a free Lake Winnie pass for good grades, but we couldn't use them; it had to be only on Tuesdays, which is hard for most parents to go during the work week. If you live in town and want something expensive to do for the weekend, then sure, go, but I wouldn't recommend it for an out-of-town traveler! Not worth the money. SMH do better owners of Lake Winnipesaukee, bc y'all are all about huge profit without the upkeep and sanitisation. The fireworks were fantastic though!

I've been visiting the Chief John Ross house since I was a child. Now 50 years later, it looks better than ever. Thanks to the current City Government lead by Mayor Teddy Harris they held their first ever Fishing Rodeo at the pond that sits in front of this historic house. If you're ever in Chattanooga or the Rossville area this is a must see
More of a public park nowadays. The replica of the fox trot home is there, but it is gated off at all times. Ross was elected Indian chief of the cherokee people even though her was mixed of Scottish and cherokee descent. The home is in the middle of Rossville. He served as a post master there also among many other things. The house was used as a hospital for the union troops after the battle of chickamagua.
The kids liked the ducks. but we didn't feed them. The house is closed to visitors
It's a hot day but I still climbed the hill behind the house. Nice view of the pond. Y'all l gave them an A+ Just a heads up, there are no trash 🗑️ in the picnic area 😔
Nice place, especially with the duck ponds. Just wish the house had been open.
We did a scavenger hunt from Let:s Roam. It gave us some great historical information about the Chief John Ross and other figures in the area.
It's really nice now that they took the big barbed wire fence down and put up a nice wrought iron fence around the house and lower pond. Stacked wood railing fence around the upper pond 👍🎼🎶🤠🇺🇲
It use to be better before they had to fence it off. I remember walking through it when I was young and being amazed by all the history and then later on taking my kids.
