Visited Riding Mountain National Park two summers ago, and it was a truly unique experience. It was August, the weather was fair and sunny, yet the temperature already had a hint of autumn's crispness. The beach area was bustling with visitors, but the lake is shimmering, the water seems a lot clearer compared to other lakes I’ve come across with and the expansive lawns were filled with picnic tables shaded by beautiful trees. The beach itself was a mix of sand and stones, making it less ideal for swimming, the park has lovely biking and hiking trails, designated camping spots, and charming A-frame cabins. The park's amenities were ample, including parking spaces, washrooms, changing stations, specialty shops, fishing equipment rentals, a beach pier, restaurants, cafes, and ice cream/dessert shops. Wonderful experience that I won't soon forget.
We have camped here a few years and we have loved every minute of it. We love that once we arrive we don't have to drive anywhere, just hop on our bikes and get anywhere from the campsites, to the beach, to bike paths, into town and more! The sites are beautiful, the bathrooms are clean, the customer service is great and the views are stunning! The firewood is sometimes wet but its free. We usually chop it up first thing and it dries up quickly!
Riding Mountain National Park is one of the premier national parks in Manitoba. It offers excellent dining options, numerous activities, and a beautiful clear lake and beach. The park is impeccably clean and provides a peaceful environment, making it ideal for a day trip or an extended stay. It’s a fantastic destination for camping, hiking, and biking. The scenic beauty even evokes the feeling of being in Alberta. Highly recommended for a visit.
Very nice park. The roads are good and scenery pleasant. Stayed at the Wassagaming campground. Lots of sites, some full service with pull through. Level with picnic table and firepit. Nicely spaced so you have privacy. Staff were helpful and friendly (5star). The townsite was lovely and interesting. Walking along the lake was peaceful and so beautiful with loons calling in the background. It was like a tv commercial! Recommend👍
One of my favourite places to go camping or even just as a day trip to hang out with family! You can camp there, be a beach bum, rent electric bikes, go hiking and have some good food (but it can get expensive). Highly recommend. 10/10
I’m very proud of the fact that our province Manitoba owns this amazing national park. The Riding Mountain National Park has a great clear lake with the clearest water I believe in North America. In addition, it’s has great camping sites and black bears. The little town Center along the clear lake has some nice restaurants, café and bakeries, souvenir shops and clothing stores. Some stores are very cute. You can also swim, kayak and canoe there, as well as BBQ. There are a few very good hiking trails. Nice parking lots. Strongly recommend this park.
About a 2.5 hour drive. Very nice place for camping and to get away from the city life. Stayed at the otentiks and nice camp sites. No need for tents, they also provide a propane grill to use. Also the town is very nice to grab some treats or ice cream. Beach is very nice for the family to hang out and play or just relax. The service was good, no issues. Also washrooms were kept clean. Would definitely be coming back! They also have a Beaver tails store there in town. Great dessert spot!
I've been to alot of parks, and this one is amazing! Campsites are lovely, lots of access to drinking water. Great beach area. Campgrounds are within walking distance from a lively downtown core. Beach. Stores. Restaurants. Ice cream. Grocery. Clothing. Rental of cabins, hotel, bikes, eBikes, pontoons, boats, paddle boards, kayaks, peddle boats. Regular and frequent staff patrolling the campgrounds, as you have bears. Commissionaires do security patrols. Very clean, well organized campgrounds! Very attractive cabins. Lots of walking and biking paths. Gotta see the Wishing Well is a must if you like to see how Nature and human interaction can blend together beautifully. The marsh trail, Ominnik, is a boardwalk and wheelchair accessible, not very long, but is very interesting. Golfing within the park may be pricey, but there are other options just outside the park at Onanole.

Always a great time... the cruise is so beautiful anytime of the day... the captain was so friendly and informative and welcomed everyone to take photos and to chat....the servers were great and the lemonade was so so good.... have been on this cruise many times and it a delight everytime....didnt do the supper cruise this time, but have done it before and its amazing! Outstanding!!
The water is crystal clear, everything around is super clean and well-maintained, and the views are just stunning. We rented a kayak and had the best time paddling around — such a peaceful yet exciting experience.
We loved this place so much we went two days in a row! We tried both the pedal boat and kayaking — both were super fun and easy to do, even for beginners like us, thanks to the clear and patient instructions from the staff. The service was excellent — the team was very friendly, calm, and organized. There’s also a great morning promo: two hours for the price of one, which was a great deal! The lake is really easy to navigate, and we highly recommend going either early in the morning or later in the afternoon when the sun isn’t as strong — it makes the experience even better. 100% recommended — we’ll definitely be back!
My family and I had an amazing time kayaking and pedal boating. We were running late and they happily accommodated us by moving our booking. Great service! Beautiful place!!
Was an amazing experience for the kids. The captain was letting kids go and steer a little as well which they loved. The weather was not great but the cruise was still awesome rain and wind not withstanding. Will definitely go again on a nicer day to experience it that way as well!
My coworkers and I had a great time out on the paddle boards! What really made the experience even better was the fantastic staff working that day (August 8th, 2025). They were supportive, professional, and incredibly helpful. We really appreciated their patience and friendly attitude — having that kind of service made the whole outing more enjoyable!
My husband & got married on the Martese years ago. Went with the family for the sunset cruise & it was lovely. Everyone enjoyed it 😊 awesome staff too! Looking forward to another adventure this summer.
We had a great time on this boat ride around the lake. We did the sunset cruise and it was amazing. The staff and captain were entertaining and knowledgeable. Thank you for being part of our trip and memories made.

It's about a 3 hour drive from Winnipeg, but it's well worth the drive. Weekend camping trip and a great round of golf. Minutes away from the camp site, there is an amazing golf course. Greens and fairways are extremely well kept. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Lots of hills and slopes, which make it a challenging course. Besides the course, the views are amazing, which made the round more relaxing and enjoyable. Will definitely be back for camping and another round of golf.
What an amazing course. Have played this course on and off through the years and always astonished at how challenging and beautiful this is. The staff was wonderful, from the tee shop attendant letting us know the greens have been recently sanded to the starter giving us advice on our first shots. The cart girls we’re pleasant to deal with and we never went more than 3-4 holes without seeing one. Make sure you grab a breakfast sandwich at the turn, real egg, slice of proper cheese, thick sausage, and a piping hot English muffin. I would love to learn more about the history of the course as I’ve heard different stories of Stanley Thompson’s involvement in course design. Pro-tip, most of the greens break towards the water!
This course has the potential to be an easy 5-star experience — the grounds are beautiful and it’s been a tradition of ours to come play here. Unfortunately, the marshal today really dampened the entire round. He hovered around every tee box and made us feel rushed and scrutinized, especially as women trying to improve our game. I’m newer to golf, and while I don’t always hit the perfect shot, I come out to learn and enjoy myself. Instead of encouragement, we were met with judgment. It left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. Sadly, I don’t think we’ll be returning after today’s experience.
Very challenging course, with picturesque scenery and surroundings. When golfing this course take in the beauty of how the course has been sculpted with the natural features of Riding Mountain. You will find a lot of blind shots on this course that offer a challenge but are not punishingly blind.
Best course I’ve been to this year ! Everyone was kept to pace and course is in top shape !
Nicely manicured course. Unusual layout with multiple blind shots. You'll need to play a couple times to figure out the best shot selections. Friendly staff!
Great course, unfortunately it was a very slow day.
Very scenic. Excellent course conditions. Friendly staff. Challenging but fun for all types of golfers. Pace of play is efficient.

Very nice log structure. Historical theatre with incredible interior. The couple running the theatre very friendly and informative.
Wasagaming is lucky to have a venue like this for an extra entertainment option. A bit of stepping back in time aesthetic with the ability to play current movies is a nice mix and novelty. Crowding into old tight rows and chairs gives it a bit of a community theatre feel. Screen and sound system are good, better than what I was expecting. I’ve been visiting clear lake since childhood yet this was my first visit to the movies. I’ll catch more films here in the future when timing permits! There can be a tiny bit of visual obstruction if a tall person sits in front of someone of lesser height, so seating strategy can be important.
Great vintage theater. Show on a Monday was almost sold out. Sitting is not staggered so can be challenging to see if an taller patron plops down afterwards. Movie was quite late to start. Not sure if there is ac theatre was very very hot. Would recommend showing up 30mins before show time to get a seat and snacks.
Amazing log built theatre. The screen and sound were top-notch. The atmosphere was amazing. I totally recommend going to it if you're in Clear Lake
Perfect place to kill a few hour during a rainy day. Not overly expensive. Decent screen and surprising good sound. Funny story Seen the Long Shot here last summer and witnessed many grandparents / grand-kids walking out with in the first 20 mins. It was one of the greatest moments of my life I guess they didn't realize it was rated R
Fantastic ambiance. Love the old fashioned theatre feel. Great for taking the family to movies. Only problem is the monthly schedule does not come out until a few days before the start of the month. Because we go at the start of August we often see movies in the city that we would rather see at the park theatre but can’t plan. It would be handy if the first week of month could be posted on line a week or two before end of month.
Super cute theatre built way back in the 1930s. A great way to spend the night when it's cooler in the evening. The staff was lovely, and the prices were more than fair. I'll be enjoying a show every time I'm in the park now.
Coolest theatre I've ever seen a movie in. This is the biggest log cabin movie theatre in North America. It has great sound and picture and usually gets pretty recent movies. Good concessions as well. Overall its always a great experience coming here for the movies.

The boardwalk was closed for repairs but still an easy walk!
The part of the trail was closed, but the overall impression is pleasant. The whole lake is overgrown with reeds
Nice casual trail for hiking. Although some of the marsh wooden floating dock trail has been taken out of service, unable to do a loop. Very nice if you continue along to South Clear lake and Southlake. Proximately 6 km out and back.
Sunday morning barely anyone on this easy short trial. Warm and clear skies. You can see lots of beaver activity across the trail. The board walks are wobbly, making it fun
It’s a nice trail,, unfortunately some of it was closed, so I can’t say how the full trail is. Very easy though, I don’t think anyone would struggle with it.
Cool place, but I never found Fredward. But I think I found some guy’s sister in the swamp…
Very easy trail for everyone. You may spot a beaver around
The marsh trail was on a planked walkway. I enjoyed the wildlife around the area. The walkway was well maintained, although may be a bit precarious for someone with balance issues.

We love this trail for the view at the end...it's so nice just sitting on the dock and taking a break
Pretty nice. A few benches at check point areas. You could spend hours in there if you take different trails. Take a pic of the map first before you head out. No check point maps to refer to.
A short hiking trail, rated easy. There are three options available with the shortest trail is about 1.7 km. However, at the trail head this was not clearly marked. If you are trying to go on the shortest trail, it is the second from left (unmarked) . Brule trail has a shorter and a longer versions. The two trails criss cross around halfway point. Some signage was bit confusing for the shorter trail. We assumed it must be facing the opposite direction travel for hikers who come from the lake heading towards the parking lot. These trails should look like a figure 8.
Whenever I visit Riding Mountain, I always hike the first section of the Kinosao Trail leading to Kinosao Lake and then come back to the parking lot along the Brule Trail. The trail leads through the peaceful forest to Kinosao Lake. The trail is fairly easy and flat with only some minor up and downs. Once you reach the lake, you will see a lovely boardwalk section of the trail, which makes for some beautiful photos. Kinosao Lake is a gem. In the early morning, the water is so calm and the atmosphere is so serene. You can sometimes hear loons. There is always a canoe laying under a tree at the edge of the water by the dock with paddles and life jackets underneath it, for anyone to take out onto the water. I always love photographing the lake from the dock and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere among nature. There are also great views of the lake (and photo opportunities) right after crossing the boardwalk heading back on the trail, with a bench positioned along the water. Would highly recommend hiking this trail, especially in the early morning when you will experience the tranquility at the lake. Gorgeous place!
Beautiful, peaceful and a nice place to spot wildlife
Loved it great trail next time we will do the connection to grey owls cabin I think
Excellent!Beautiful lake.
