Beautiful place in an oak and ash forest along Rainy River. This is a national historic site with some site interpretation, a museum, and little restaurant with excellent frybread. Be warned, though, NO DOGS permitted on property whether on or off leash. About 30 minute walk along a maintained forest road to the view of the grand mound.

Excellent cultural destination site! Staff are friendly and engaging, the roundhouse is BREATHTAKING and the gift shop is curated with local Indigenous & Metis businesses..... amazing events but also pretty cool to book for meetings and 3rd party events! Haven't been cross country skiing or snowshoeing yet but hiking and biking the trails (rentals available on site) is just beautiful! Must visit!

Beautiful place to visit. The hosts are amazing and knowledgeable of indigenous culture surrounds the mounds. Definitely want to visit in the summer.
