Amazing trip, but you need to be in shape and wear good shoes. This is a very tough trail, but it's so worth it. if you have any medical condition or bad knees, legs or feet, do not do this trip if you get hurt, you are literally in the middle of nowhere and they would have to carry you up a huge mountain with tons of rocks and steep ledges. This area is private and can only be entered with a guide. You will see the sign to park and the guides are waiting there. It's $10 a person. The walk down can be steep, rocky and slippery. It takes about 20 mins to get there. Our guide was very kind and patient. He showed us fruit trees and things along the way.
Beautiful place. Got a tourist to take us to 7 waterfalls before and then this wonderful place. Highly recommend the experience! The walk there is a bit difficult but manageable! Be ready for a adventure and be prepared.
This trip is not meant for the faint of heart and certainly not a DIY type adventure. I am an experienced urban explorer but finding this with no directions, aerial views, and navigating the barb wire fences would be next to impossible without an experienced guide. We hired Yessenia (WhatsApp number mentioned in other reviews) who was very helpful in navigating our large group and arranged transport from a central location so we didn't have to drive down the very rough narrow road mentioned in reviews full of spotty looking guides waiting at the least passable part. This is on private property and is fenced in. I doubt it's illegal to enter. The falls were gorgeous and crystal clean. Water was chilly but perfect for the hike in humid weather. Warning is that the swim area is a former hydroelectric dam and the drainage structures are active. There is a current at one point that is potentially dangerous for people that are not a strong swimmer and the deepest portion is 2 feet deep. But it was totally worth it once you jump in for how pristine it was. Having a guide again is essential. Again Yessenia was very accommodating and gave us a very fair price.
Is recommended take the seven cascadas tour, it take around 4 hours and finish at chorros de la calera, price around $15 usd
This area is private and can only be entered with a guide. You will see the sign to park and the guides are waiting there. It's $10 a person. The walk down can be steep, rocky and slippery. It takes about 20 mins to get there. Our guide was very kind and patient. He showed us fruit trees and things along the way. At the 1st waterfall we swam for a while, then moved on to the next one about a 5 min walk to swim more. The 3rd waterfall was only another 1 minute walk. We were told there are a total of 7 waterfalls to visit in the area, but with our late arrival we only did the 3. Now the walk back up took some time because it started to rain so things were much more slippery!! We made it about half way after 45 minutes. Luckily they sent a 4x4 truck down to pick up anyone that was willing to pay $5 a person. Which we did. Standing up in the back of a small pick-up truck as it struggled to climb the hill was sketchy but fun. We all survived and it was an amazing time! A must see if you're up for an adventure!
The hike was a bit rough but mainly due to west ground at the time. Water at the falls was wonderful and refreshing.
The pass per person was 15 for us. Parking was 15 which was definitely a lot. Paid 45 total which seemed like a lot just to see some waterfalls. Definitely a tourist up charge place. There's no signage of pricing or anything so you have nothing to argue with, that's why I just paid and left. The entrance isn't easy to get into unless you have a large vehicle and experienced driver but that's not their fault so I wouldn't hold that against them. The waterfalls we saw were nice though, the trail isn't the easiest either but same won't hold it against them. Pricing definitely is too much though, they did help us get out from a hole which our vehicle got stuck in so they were helpful but overall too expensive compared to other waterfalls we've been too. We've paid 3 dollars a person at another waterfall we went too. I understand everyone's trying to make a living but up charging excessively isn't a good look for business. I believe tourists would be more willing to go if there's a consistent honest pricing.
We attended today to do the 7 waterfalls tour with Alex from Azomalli Tours and can’t recommend him enough and the walk. We ended up doing 10 waterfalls and finished off with a swim. We went at 8am and got picked up via Tuk Tuk and had the place all to ourselves. The walking is relatively easy but be prepared to get wet as you climb up through a waterfall. Find Alex on instagram at Azomalli Tours and he’ll make sure you have a great experience

The Sunday market at Parque Central is a vibrant and lively experience! It’s always bustling with energy, with vendors offering a wide variety of goods—everything from fresh produce to handmade crafts and delicious street food. The atmosphere is busy but full of life, with locals and tourists alike browsing through the colorful stalls. It’s a fantastic place to soak in the local culture, enjoy authentic food, and find unique souvenirs. If you love the excitement of a bustling market, this is the place to be on a Sunday!
Best time to come on the weekend for the food festival. Several options of really good food for cheap. Plenty of options of beverages as well from alcohol, to smoothies, to juices. Souvenir shopping and music playing as well.
Park in the middle of the town. They host food festival and street vendors on the weekends. Make sure you pay a visit and support the local businesses.
Absolutely worth the visit! We came in a Sunday to the food festival and it did not disappoint. We ate SOOO good! There was live music, souvenirs stands, endless food, snacks, coffee shops. I loved feeling so wrapped in my culture. The traditional foods, the traditional attire, traditional coffee everything was so authentic. Unfortunately, it started pouring so we left early but we will be going back!
Juayua Central Park is like the heart of the town! I spent a lovely afternoon there just soaking up the sun and enjoying the scenery. The park is filled with beautiful trees and flowers, making it a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. I loved grabbing a coffee from one of the vendors and just chilling on a bench, watching the world go by. There were also some fun activities happening, which made it feel lively and engaging. Honestly, I can’t recommend this place enough if you want a nice break or some quality time outdoors!
"A Food Lover's Dream on a Budget!" Juayúa's central food hub is an absolute delight-an abundance of options converging around the food area near the central plaza, where everything felt no more than $10 per plate, if not substantially less. Whether I was craving crispy pupusas, hearty grilled meats, fresh seafood, or traditional soups and tamales, there was something for every taste and wallet.
The park was beautiful. Lots of renovation work being done but there was alot of restaurants in the immediate area with plenty of food to choose from. It appeared that every Saturday they hold a food festival. Don’t forget to walk to the panaderias nearby!
A town that was a big surprise for us. People are nice, always smiling. It is worth remembering that there is a food market here every weekend. For a few dollars, you can buy a large plate of tasty food. I recommend!

Fun weekend street festival - lots of food, artisans, and activities to take part in.
If you are vegetarian forget about the place . Looks like more for turists. People not very friendly, I found much better the market in Nahuizalco also people very friendly and good vibe.
In A Nutshell: -If you are in search of street food for eye-poppingly low prices, then you need to stop by the Juayua Weekend Food Festival. -If you live in the United States, this is basically a combination of a Farmer's Market and Flea Market. -You'll find many food stands and souvenir stands. -Expect to see large plates full of food for only $5.00. -If you like fresh tropical fruits like goose berries, you'll find it here. -You'll also find some deep-fried treats like star-shaped sweet potato. Overall, this is great place to explore if you are in the area or driving along the Ruta de las Flores.
Really good experience on Sunday! Great food, lovely people.
(Translated by Google) We bought food at one of the food stalls that were in the alley of the Gastronomic Festival and when my family sat on the chairs to eat the food, they were taken out of the place, with the argument that it had not been bought at the food stalls at the Gastronomic Festival. Festival? How is a tourist going to know that? I explained to the overbearing Mr. who arrived that he should give us 10 minutes for my 74-year-old mother to eat her cassava and he didn't care, he took us out. This place is not to visit or leave money, what a bad image they give to tourism.
(Translated by Google) JUAYUA GASTROMIC FESTIVAL. This festival is not for nothing that is visited by many and many people every weekend, as well as thousands of Salvadorans and thousands of tourists from all over the world, that is why they see that this festival is so well-known, famous and delicious. . As the name says: It's a gastronomic festival so we already know what we're going for, right, of course!! Let's eat! That's why I tell you that this place is very famous because there is a great variety of food for all tastes, from grilled chicken meat, like a good grilled breast to shrimp, there you find everything to eat and drink, you find things like eating a bunny. The festival covers all tastes for the palate.... and their prices? How much do I eat there? Well, that's the coolest thing of all, you don't need a lot of money to give yourself a big, delicious meal until you're overwhelmed with so much. Let's put it this way, with what you eat in a restaurant with your family, let's say about 4 people, to say something there you get up to plenty of room for more things like souvenirs, walks, fruit, and many other things.... And then how much?...... Well, their dishes range from $3.50 to $8 to give a range, so imagine how much does a typical steak restaurant cost per person? Yes, I know about 15 dollars per person in total? In the restaurant you get around $60, $70.80 here with about $30 you eat as a family and you eat very deliciously and you are left rubbing your nerves... what do you say to that? fantastic right!! drinks: You will find all kinds of national and foreign beer chilled to your table, micheladas, orchata, natural juices, smoothies, etc... something not so good for many and good for others: THE PUPPIES, in the food area there are several stray dogs looking for something to eat, they are also hungry and can't speak. I know there are people who don't like dogs or their presence when they eat, but I see that there are more people who do. They graze and give them food and they are very happy, because saying that, instead people in charge of the municipal mayor's office are in charge of going around throwing water at them and even hitting some dogs just for walking in the area, something that I think should not be like that, I leave it only as a comment because I think there are many who also love puppies. Well anyway, I hope you liked my review! Give it a like and here I leave you a couple of photos of the best place!!! happy travels world travelers and locals!! (Original) FESTIVAL GASTROMICO DE JUAYUA.

A tour at Lechuza Cafe is a must-do if you are visiting anywhere near the Ruta de las Flores. Luis is a true expert, and a generous guide. His knowledge of every step that goes from growing coffee to brewing it is remarkable. We particularly appreciated the efforts Lechuza Cafe makes to farm its coffee sustainably and we really enjoyed the cupping / tasting part of the tour. We learned so much. Muchas gracias Luis for one of the best experiences of our whole trip!
This place is not obvious. You need to have it recommended by someone. That's what happened to us. Beautiful hotel with an amazing little cafe in the entrance. We took away six bags of the three coffee selections they sell (Kenia, Gesha, and Pacamara). These bags are now back with us at our home in Guatemala. They are transcendent.
