The jet blast was really cool and many people fell down from it! The vibe from the entire place was unique from other islands and that's why I liked it a lot. Just seeing the private jets, island hoppers, and commercial planes come in was an awesome experience and I would love to go back someday!
Beautiful Beach with a very cinematic view for plane landing AND taking off. The go to place for the coolest profile pictures😉
Crystal clear water with waves that the kids will love. You can see planes fly very low over the beach which is a spectacular sight. The only downside side is that it’s very packed and there are large rocks near the shoreline that you have to be watchful of. The food was great at the local restaurant. Highly recommended visiting if you’re in the area. You won’t regret it.
Visiting Maho Beach in Sint Maarten was an unforgettable experience. Watching the planes come in for landing right overhead was absolutely incredible such a unique and thrilling sight that you don’t get anywhere else in the world. The atmosphere was both exciting and relaxing at the same time. The beach itself was beautiful, with crystal clear waters that were the perfect temperature for swimming and cooling off. It was such a relaxing place to spend the day, soaking up the sun while enjoying the one of a kind view of airplanes flying just above you. Overall, Maho Beach is a must-see when visiting Sint Maarten. Between the stunning beach and the amazing plane observation experience, it’s truly something special and so worth the visit.
The beach here was surprisingly small but the water more than made up for it. Crystal clean and cool. The landing planes were so cool, too!
Maho Beach is one of those rare places that completely lives up to the hype. We came in from the cruise terminal, and while the ride over is a bit long, the journey itself is part of the adventure. Once you arrive, the setting is unforgettable, crystal-clear turquoise water, soft white sand, and the famous runway just a few steps away. The real magic, of course, is watching the planes. No video or photo can prepare you for the adrenaline rush of a jet roaring directly overhead as it lands just feet away. It’s a surreal experience to stand on the beach, feel the rumble in your chest, and see these massive aircraft descending right over your head. Even the smaller planes are exciting, but when the big jets come in, it’s awesome. There are beach bars and restaurants close by, so you can grab a cold drink or some food while waiting for the next arrival. The vibe is fun, energetic, and filled with people from all over the world sharing the same sense of wonder. Yes, it’s a bit of a trek from the cruise port, but absolutely worth every minute. Maho Beach is a once-in-a-lifetime experience you’ll never forget, part thrill, part beauty, and 100% worth the trip.
Maho Beach is a must-see in St. Maarten. Watching planes fly just feet above your head as they land is absolutely wild — unlike anything else. Such an adrenaline rush! The beach was packed with people. Sunset Bar looked like it was the spot to be at, but we couldn't even walk in to the bar it was so packed. Ended up getting a bucket of local beers from Driftwood Boat Bar! Highly recommend!
Bucket list item, watching planes land at Maho Beach, St. Maarten! You need to go check it out.

I was pleasantly surprised by a very touristy place; the food and service were top-notch. The drinks weren't bad, but could have used more alcohol in the cocktails. The atmosphere was very much that of a vacation and exciting, as you have a clear view of the planes from Maho Beach. Although the place was very busy, the servers were attentive and efficient. The food came out in a short time. 5*.
Food and drinks were ok. The nachos were great but the pizza was average. The drinks were good and the jumbo frozen drinks were 14 dollars and then 9 dollars for a refill. Seeing the planes take off and land was the best part. Many sections of the beach bar were not open and said reserved and those sections were some of the best spots to view planes. When a plane was ready to take off or land I would get up and walk to the beach for better views. Overall great experience and make sure to get your parking pass validated after eating for free parking.
Great Staff! Fast service! They even have flight schedule monitors, so you know when the next flt is coming in or departing! It is a very narrow road from the Bar to the Beach, but the cars tend to drive very slow.
It is located next to Maho Beach. We stopped in for lunch. A bucket of beer was $20, and the pizza was quite good. Service was good, and prices weren't crazy. If you visit Maho Beach, this is a good place for a drink or lunch.
Popped in Sunday for lunch and to watch the planes land. Busy restaurant, staff handled it well. Ordered for around 10:40 am, but had to wait until 11:00 for lunch, no big deal. Beer was cold, bottle water was cold and a soda was in a smallish plastic cup. Food was ok. Coconut shrimp was standard frozen pre made but ok. Philly cheese steaks were just ok. A little on the burnt side (tasted quite charred) and not like what you might be use to. Server was very efficient and friendly, checking on us each time he passed by. Brought the bill quickly when asked. Bought a shirt!!
The food looked like it was reheated, didn’t even have salt on it. No seasoning at all. It was hard as a rock and flavourless. We ate it because this was our first meal of the day and we were hungry and couldn’t find another spot. Normally we are big backs and finish majority of the food.
Maho beach hets busy by 9 am. We went at 8 am they had plenty of seating , food took a litlle while. The picture of pancakes shows a big stack but thats not what you get. But the food and coffee is still good
Such a fun experience watching the planes come and go above Maho Beach. We sat right along the edge with great views of the beach. Ordered the grilled lobster MP, absolutely worth it. The nachos were disappointing, not worth ordering. Please try the guavaberry frozen drink!! Obsessed tasted like a strawberry smoothie. Came here right after landing, will visit again before leaving. Parking is free when you validate your ticket at the restaurant and it’s a decent sized lot right next to it.

Small casino but super fun. The shows are great Had the best time!
Likely the best Casino on the Island. Large by Sint Maarten standards. Located in fun Maho surrounded by nightlife. They also have sports betting terminals. Free drinks is also great!👍
I was here for over an hour, dropped a few $$$, it was impossible to get a drink! The servers are in the back room making sure they look cute! For what!?
This was a very nice Casino one of my favorites on the island first day we went here service was amazing got served drinks almost instantly next couple times we went couldn't find anybody to get a drink from there were no servers nobody was working the floor was ready to spend money in the casino and ended up leaving going somewhere else because we actually enjoyed drinking while we Gamble its The Island that drinks and yet we couldn't get drinks served to us hope you all improve on that was multiple times that happened really love the casino really wanted to spend more time there but guess it was your loss
Small but nice. Free live shows
This isn't a really busy place and it's also not so big, but they have good service and plentiful assortment of slots compared to number of guests. We enjoyed visiting it more than twice during our stay.
Had an awesome time here!! Modem and very clean. Dividers between machine’s for cleanliness. Machines are modern. Definitely won And lost! Lost 200 then in last 5 min won 150$ lol…. Probably lost 90$ and was there 4 hours. If I walked away after some wins probably could have made $$ but was addicted to these awesome machines: wheel of fortune, sex in the city, machines just like Vegas. Free drinks. Tipped waitress 2$ each drink because drinks are free and she got me drinks all night. Great great place! Get a card and you get $10. Went solo and was entertained the whole time. And no one harassed me. Great time! .
Remember, this is the Caribbean, not Vegas. Good size Casino, lots of variation on slot machines and table games. Poker room, players club, and free drinks. Enjoyed our nights here. $150 free play per room available if you are staying at the Sonesta. There is also a satellite slots only area in the main bar at the Sonesta.

Bought a bracelet in Jan 2025. It was a Figaro style, solid design so that it would be sturdy to wear every day. It has been a great addition to my jewelry collection. The customer service was second to none.
The absolute best place to buy jewelry on the island. I’ve been coming here for almost over 20 years now, and the service and quality is phenomenal! If you come to SXM, they are a must visit!
Amazing store! The owner and workers are super friendly, funny and honest. They have lots of variety. Gold, silver, mens, womens. Highly recommend service by Ravi
I have been shopping with JN Jewelers for probably 20 years! I will not buy jewelry anywhere else. Everything I have purchased appraises in the US for well above what I have paid. Ravi knows exactly what will suit me and I consider him a friend. The photos are just a small sampling of items purchased….
Ravi and Rajesh were wonderful. This is our 2nd time buying from them and they remembered us. They are very friendly and honest. Love my jewelry we purchased from them. We will be back!!!
We've been coming to St. Maarten for 16yrs now, and we've only bought jewelry from Kapil. (Kevin) He is very professional, knowledgeable, not pushy and goes the extra mile to find exactly what you're looking for. This purchase was no different. Sam the manager was also very professional and polite. Everyone is so inviting when we walk in to the store.
During vacation, I purchased diamond earrings at a great price from here. I am very pleased with my purchase. Great people, great jewelry.
Staff was extremely helpful and patient. Ravi was so engaging and made the shopping experience feel easy rather than pressured. Great experience!!

Incredible jewelry store on St. Maarten with competitive prices. Purchased beautiful pieces that appraised higher in the US! Staff, especially Victor, provided knowledgeable and trustworthy service. They also have a great selection of high-quality souvenirs on the other side of the store.
From the moment we arrived at St. Maarten and met Uncle Anthony we kept coming back to the store. This is where I met the most enthusiastic and FINEST Jeweler Sam. He is everything that a Jeweler should be. Sam and his staff are kind, friendly and welcoming. I never felt preasure and they took their time and knows what we really want. They value their customer so much that they all made sure to check each store in order to find the one we wanted and Auntie ran just to bring it back on time. Surprisingly is the BEST PRICE in the island and the one stop place to visit. And because of their excellent service we recommended them to my two sister in law from CANADA who then also bought Jeweler to them. It was an online selling experience that took hours and great patient from Sam. Thank you for also helping them and making their wish granted. Lastly thank you for making our Anniversary and my Birthday extra special. Our wedding ring that was my parents ring are now brighter and more sparkling like before. Thank you for taking the time to replace and repair the diamonds 💎 in my wedding ring. We will definitely see you all again. Highly recommend 👌!
Let me just say I never take the time to write reviews, but I was so satisfied with the experience at this jewlery store..My girlfriend and I went in for excellent prices on liquor and cigs and we walked out with quite a few items including an absolute beautiful ring. Go see Anil and you won't be disappointed..Easily the nicest and best jewler we have ever dealt with..made you feel right at home with no pressure and excellent prices..We will definitely come back to see our friends....sincerely..we thank you
I had such a wonderful experience at Jewels & Beyond in Sint Maarten! The gold selection was absolutely beautiful, and the prices were very reasonable. What truly made the visit special was the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and courteous — I genuinely enjoyed spending time in the store, chatting and browsing without ever feeling rushed or the pressure to purchase. A special thank you to Rita and Mr. Norman for their kindness and professionalism . They made the shopping experience both fun and memorable. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in Sint Maarten!
What a great place! Definitely recommend! Such friendly and helpful staff. We are very happy with our purchase. Rheena was just so nice. Very nice to meet you all. Thank you!
What an awesome jewelry store! Great selection of hard to find items, best prices with even better service. Ben and Sam were an absolute pleasure to deal with. My wife and I loved coming to this store multiple times during our stay in Sint Maarten. Thanks again guys for everything!
Absolutely fabulous! I love every purchase so much that my friend purchased as well. We love the quality, friendliness, customer service is beyond! Nafeza is the best!
Sam, Anil and Rita were all so genuinely kind and knowledgeable! Even pulled out our photo from visiting them 8 years ago! Until next time friends!

I went there in April this year, the ambiance , the view, the food and the service was amazing. I dined there with my family. We had an excellent dining experience. They also have shuttle service to take you to and from the restaurant.
Really cool vibe, great food and ok service. The parking situation is a little screwy… but we liked it well enough to go twice during our stay. I will say… I have never seen so many people celebrating their birthdays; this is true for both visits. I would recommend having dinner here for sure.
Don’t come here if you’re on a tight budget, but if you’re looking for a memorable experience and a wonderful atmosphere then it makes for a great evening venue. Once you reach the venue at the top of the hill then the setting and views are impressive. Yes a lot of the views over the island are obstructed by nearby buildings and rooftops, but the open pools and rooftop decking give a sense of being on top of the world. Staff are very welcoming and as professional as the venue suggests, and there’s plenty of tables throughout the venue inside and out, as well as bar seating, but at popular times it’s worth ensuring you have a reservation. There is a ‘happy hour’ which covers two for one drinks as well as a discount on the small plates from the food menu. This makes for a great value way of tasting a number of the food items on offer and shows the high quality offered - presentation and taste is exceptional and despite being included in the offer each dish comes in a good portion size. The music makes for a great atmosphere and the lighting at night adds to the vibe brilliantly. One of the most memorable places I went to on the island and I’d love to return.
We had an amazing time at Bamboo house. In our week stay we came twice to have supper!! The ambience is great, food is just amazing and our waiter Raphael was outstanding. We will definitely be back to the island and have another experience with friends at Bamboo!
Great restaurant for romantic dinner with amazing view. Sushi was really fresh and well presented and atmosphere was nice and relaxing, we have enjoy dinner and will be back next time we are in St.Maarten.
Feeling like coming home, such a great and welcoming staff. At this time of year, no reservation needed. I loved the chicken with coconut rice! My God, a dream! The cook there, a young talented woman from Brooklyn, is so gifted.
We had the best dinner at Bamboo House! Our server, Greta, was so wonderful. We were sitting outside when it started down pouring and she escorted us quickly inside with umbrellas and offered the best service! Food was also great.
Bamboo House SXM proved to be a wonderful dining experience on my first day on the island. I ordered the ribeye steak with coconut rice, and the meal came out quickly and the steak was delicious. The fat content was a little high but nonetheless I enjoyed the meal. The coconut rice stood out - it was “creamy” and different. I had the smoky Mezcal margarita which came out great as well. The ambiance was stunning and intriguing, with the mini-pools and the other many areas you can venture to on the grounds. All guests of my party also enjoyed their experience. We will be back.

This resort is nestled on a beautiful little rockpoint overlooking the ocean. It is right next to the international airport and a 2-3 minute stroll to the famous Maho beach. Despite being near the airport, there was very little disturbance from air traffic. In fact, it's part of the attraction, watching planes land and take off safely. The resort staff were absolutely amazing! Cheerful, helpful and warm. I might be biased because I'm from the Caribbean but it adds even more value because it felt like I was in a home away from home. It felt like I was just in my neighbourhood. And that was just through my interactions with Maho beach resort staff!!! The all inclusive package is worth it. Food was tasty at each of their restaurants... Yes, we tried all of them at least once. Their drink menu is the same across the bars and very consistent. The pool and the rest of the facilities were clean and well maintained. Overall, 100% recommended.
The resort is in a prime location right by the airport and Maho Beach where the planes fly low overhead and sand blast you in the face from planes taking off (fun to experience). Maho Beach is beautiful. The food is absolutely trash. I had a decent burger there and the Italian spot had a couple of good dishes. Caribbean night the oxtail were good but I spent most of my time finding local spots to visit for food. Defeats the purpose of an all inclusive if most of your meals are away. The included drinks were BELOW bottom shelf. Dollar store liquor. Absolutely Disgusting. The cleaning staff was nice and all of the people at the front were nice and helpful. The servers at the restaurants were nice as well. There was water leaking in several places but it was alot of rain recently. The furniture in the rooms was very cheap but the cleaning crew kept the rooms clean. The floor in the lobby was always dirty. The pool was always crowded and the activities were subpar. It's "affordable" for a reason, you get what you pay for. Thin walls, you can hear everything in the next room and I mean everything.
The Sonesta Maho Beach Resort was absolutely amazing! My husband and I stayed there for 6 days/ 5 nights and we did not regret one second of it. All of the staff treated us with respect and kindness! No one mistreated us in anyway nor did we feel uncomfortable! Anna took the time to show us around the resort. She was so welcoming and pleasant to deal with. The food was so delicious the drinks were on point. Break, lunch and dinner never disappointment us. I advise to get to the pool early since it can get crowded fast. When my husband and I book the Azul experience our waitress Janeal was super nice and friendly. One of the top rated West Indian island to stay at. I highly recommend Sint Maarten for any special occasion or even for a quick getaway. This island felt like the Maldives of the West Indies!
We stayed at the Sonesta Maho Beach Resort for a week in October 2025 and overall had a decent trip. The location was absolutely the highlight. It’s close to the airport, shops, and stunning beaches, and the people on the island (outside of the resort) were some of the kindest and most welcoming we’ve ever met. The weather was beautiful, the beach and pool areas were clean, and we loved spending time by the water when we could find a good spot. We also did the “Friendly Island” tour through Nexus, which was hands down the best part of our trip. It was such a great way to explore the island and learn more about the culture. The resort itself didn’t fully live up to the 4-star rating, but we still made the best of it. The food was okay but nothing special. I usually found something I liked, but my partner had a harder time. Some buffet food seemed like it might have been from the night before. We didn’t get sick, but nothing really stood out. Snack and drink options were limited too. When we tried to bring pizza back to our room one evening, we were met with attitude and given two very small slices that were noticeably smaller than what others were getting. If we had bad attitudes ourselves, I could understand, but that wasn’t the case. We said good morning to everyone, thanked staff often, and tipped well throughout our stay. Eventually we stopped tipping altogether because it just didn’t seem to make a difference in how we were treated. The live music was great and the performers were very talented, but there wasn’t much else to do in terms of entertainment. The resort was also very busy, which was surprising since it wasn’t supposed to be peak season. Check-in took around 45 minutes in a warm lobby, though they did offer champagne, water, and cool towels, which was a nice touch. The biggest disappointment was how unfriendly most of the staff were. Many seemed miserable and uninterested in helping, which really affected the atmosphere. The few employees who were kind and welcoming completely changed our experience and made those moments so much better. Their kindness truly stood out, and I think if the resort focused on improving staff training and attitude, it would make a huge difference in how guests feel overall. Our room was fine but had some small issues. There were a few mouldy spots, a loose toilet paper holder, and a shower that overflowed even with quick showers. We only used housekeeping once since we tend to keep things tidy and mostly just needed towels. After the first cleaning the mould was still there, but it wasn’t worth complaining about. The air conditioning worked well once we figured it out, though it was confusing at first. The restaurant hours also weren’t very consistent. For example, the app said lunch went until 3:45, but when we arrived at 2:40, we were told only a limited snack menu was available while other guests were still being served full meals. Overall, we still enjoyed our time in Sint Maarten because the island itself is beautiful, and the location of this resort can’t be beat. With better food, clearer communication, and especially friendlier, more engaged staff, this could easily be a great resort. Right now, it feels closer to a 3-star experience, but we still made the most of our week and appreciated the few people who went out of their way to make it better.
We stayed at the Sonesta Maho Beach resort Nov 6th to Nov 11th. What a trip! I legitimately do not understand some of the reviews here. Everyone was super friendly and helpful while we were there. The food was great, is it buffet food yes was it good given the fact you’re on an island where everything needs to be imported and they do not have chefs from each of the countries the restaurants and buffet represent, also yes. I think people need to put into context where they are and appreciate what can be accomplished on a small island. We had zero problems with anyone at the resort but also we follow the golden rule, treat people the way you want to be treated and generally people will be nice to you. A few highlights were Anna at the front desk who was very helpful and gracious to my wife and I. Also have to recommend Janeal who was our waitress for the Azul experience dinner she made a special dinner even better. Also while not a hotel employee we highly recommend Captain K and the two islands, one tour by viator. He showed us the whole island and taught us so much history about the island. Overall we will definitely be returning to Sonesta and St Maarten and highly recommend both for anyone considering a trip there. Oh and one other thing, watching the planes land from the beach will never get old so go enjoy it.
Maho is breathtakingly beautiful: love sitting on the beach chairs, watching planes fly in over the insanely blue water. The service is fine except when they chase you out of any area you're apparently not allowed (which is super awkward). The food (at the NOT Ocean Point side at least) is really very bad. We tried the Italian spot: great view at sunset, adorable table setting. The creamy "pesto" sauce tasted like baby food peas. The buffet was pretty rough except for the fish. We ended up going out for food rather than eat at the resort, even though it was free.
I went there to photograph airplanes. The hotel is clean, service was great, food was amazing especially at the Italian restaurant. The casino is small but convenient. I could see the planes from the balcony. Few minutes walking to the beach. Nice shopping area outside and big casino in front, which I didn’t have time to go. I recommend. I had a great experience there.
The price of the rooms + the food is overall not worth it. First two days, the A/C wasn’t working properly and it was 76 degrees in the room. The TV didn’t work properly, would flash in and out and the sound randomly stopped working also. The phone in the room didn’t work, we got called by the front desk twice and weren’t able to answer. When returned the call, no one knew who called us and why. Really confusing. The staff seemed to hate their jobs, no smiles, not very friendly, and very slow service. The pool area and around it smelled like sewage, and had animal feces that you had to avoid. Couldn’t even enjoy a swim, because all I could smell was foul and abrasive. A taxi from the hotel less than 2 miles from the hotel costs me and my mother $15 dollars. The driver drove like a maniac. Not to mention, when we arrived I was told a man would be waiting for us with our name on a sign and turns out he wasn’t there and wasn’t even on his way. An hour after we landed, he arrived and took us to our hotel. He drove like a maniac also, and was so close to wrecking the car that I felt like I was going to scream. The hotel offered our stay as a comp offer from the casino, however we had to pay $723 extra for some reason. It clearly stated it was a FREE 5 night offer, and it was not. The incompetence of the staff when trying to pay this fee was incredible. I’ve never seen 5 people completely unaware of how to do their job, and have little to no cares on helping us resolve this issue. Despite that, the hotel is dirty, overcrowded, overpriced, and not worth the money. Go get an Airbnb and explore the culinary wonders of the island, there is so much good food there. The food provided by the hotel was the worst food I’ve ever had in my life. The coffee was terrible also. They do not explain how much daily it costs for your all inclusive package, that is baked into the room cost, and it would be nice to know how much that actually is. The rooms are not worth more than $100 a night. Everything about this place is a waste of money. Absolutely over priced, over rated, and worth going somewhere else for what you pay. It’s a scam in my opinion.

A cute spot by the beach. The place was clean but could use a touch up. The staff was friendly and accommodating to us as vegetarians( menu had some options but we further altered). We had lunch here and enjoyed the cool ocean breeze. The food was tasty with adequate portions. My only concern was the dogs circulating the property as one of party member extreme fear. Overall it was cute spot with amazing views of the ocean.
I have to say, if u spend $20, your beach chair is free to rent. So that’s a good deal with very nice sand and blue sea beachfront bar to choose compare to the one nearby. Food is good, we tried the ceviche, chicken wing and fried shrimp, all good bar food. And my toddler like their chicken tenders. Down side- takes forever to get our order. I had to ask 5 times to get our drinks.
We stay right by the Boon’s on the beach, so it was convenient to go there for drinks and dinner in the evening. We loved the ambiance and the service. The bar is great, with lots of choices. Judith, our bartender in the evenings, made us some great rum-based cocktails (the passion fruit and the Boon’s cocktails are incredible). On the restaurant side, we particularly like the shrimp ceviche, the tuna tartar, and for a warm plate the curry shrimp was our favorite. They also have chairs and umbrellas on the gorgeous beach with turquoise water, and serve drinks as you wish. Not too crowded so a great place to relax and have drinks.
Great spot in Simpson Bay. Food is decent and service was great. Planes are not an issue or a distraction. Gorgeous views and a fun beach.
Fantastic spot by the sea. Nice staff, free sunbeds if you eat there. The grilled fish was fantastic!
Food and service was amazing. The only thing is that since it was on the beach, the view of the water was amazing, but the view of topless women while eating was not so much...I was just trying to enjoy my food but right in front of my view, there were topless women on the beach starring at me! It was a bit awkward and made my stay a bit less enjoyable. Still great but the atmosphere was not too inviting! (Keep this in consideration if you come with kids) P.S. if you order drinks & food here, you get free umbrellas and chairs on the beach! Amazing service
Excellent bar and beach, great drinks and good food , must try the burger and the tuna tar tar , staff was great , you only have to spend $20 and you get beach chairs , with umbrella for some shade, beach is calm super relaxing and great wifi as well from the bar highly recommend
Walked from Hilton approx 20-30 mins to have breakfast and check out the beach. Decent breakfast: pancakes, eggs bennedict, omlet, all ok. Great smiles and atmosphere. Chairs and umbrellas provided at no fee if you eat here. Great beach, sand and water. Not crowded at this time in August. Awesome spot. Get a hotel/room close by !!!
